A new day came and immediately, Ash was met with the sight of the Pixies being restrained by Sombra's shadows. They failed to capture Ash and were immediately busted by Sombra, who quickly overpowered them with his shadows, leaving them like this all night.
"So, they were trying to take me away?" Ash questioned, speaking to Sombra.
"Not sure for what reason, but I can assure you this. They most likely lied about that puzzle." Sombra gave Ash a curt nod.
"Huh. So you lied to Twilight too then. Ash asked the Pixies who glared at him and tried struggling to no avail.
"Anything to prevent Prisma's return!" One of the Pixies yelped as they tried getting loose from the grasp of the shadows but couldn't free themselves while realizing that they weren't going anywhere anytime soon due to how powerful and firm these bindings were.
"I suggest having the shadows completely consume them." Sombra wanted to fully end these Pixies, having their bodies succumb to the shadows, but Ash halted him.
"Woah, now. There's no need for that." Ash raised his hand while shaking his head quickly. He knew better than anyone else that controlling these beings with shadows would be pointless.
"I suppose." Sombra groaned at Ash's kindness but was grateful nonetheless for it. "Then let's ask them some questions. The one that truly matters. Confess on how to properly turn him back to his original age at once."
"Ugh...You won't get us to confess." One of the Pixies stated calmly yet nervously as they tried getting free from his grasp while glaring daggers at Ash.
"Really now?" Sombra couldn't help but laugh loudly as he rolled his eyes slightly while placing one hoof against his forehead before running it across it slowly with a heavy sigh escaping his lips afterwards, "Seems like you have a lot of secrets to hide. Do tell me then. Just how were you planning on stopping me from finding out what it is that you're hiding?"
He smirked evilly as he raised one hoof towards them once more with an evil smirk forming across his face, "Do you think I won't be able to uncover them? Especially when they are right here for me to discover myself? How foolish indeed..."
The other pixies scowled angrily as they tried desperately to escape his grasp. Ash couldn't help but chuckle softly at how ridiculous this situation really was while crossing his arms together tightly as he gazed down upon them while shaking his head slowly. "Look. If it makes you feel any better, we could just let you go and head back to the palace. I don't wanna keep you guys here forever, but you gotta tell me how me and Twilight can turn back to normal. At least tell Twilight how to do it."
Ash knew that the Pixies hated him due to this connection to Prisma. So, they could at least do this for Twilight as she was connected to their Queen. The Pixies still glowered at him before responding in a sharp tone while clenching their teeth together tightly with their eyes narrowed angrily at him.
"I-I can't continue lying like this!" One of the Pixies who resembled Honesty broke, yelling at the top of his lungs while everyone else stared at him. "The way to return to your original age is by going through the Nimbus Reach."
"The Nimbus Reach?" Ash repeated.
"It is a place where her Majesty's family, the King and Queen used to visit here and there. There exists a Pokemon that can return you back to your original age." One Pixie responded.
"Honesty! You're betraying her Majesty by telling them that!" Another one cried out, getting angry. "She will punish us for telling you!"
"Hm. Thanks." Ash thanked the Pixie of Honesty. He could tell that he wasn't lying, reading his body language and his tone of voice. "Can you tell me exactly where it is?"
The Pixie shook his head. "It's an ancient and powerful location. Only members of the Royal Family can enter it without any trouble at all. Among the many things revived from our Lost Universe, it should exist somewhere in the world, if it's been revived already. I'm not sure where it would be though."
"Hmm..." Ash pondered for a moment. "So, I'd either have to wait for it to show up or maybe it's already shown up and I just gotta find it. That's pretty tricky. How about a hint? Where was it when you still had your Universe?"
"Well...It was found in a region known as the Galar Region. I assume Galar exists here as well."
"Oh, yeah! It totally does!" Ash exclaimed, raising his fist. "So, it's somewhere in Galar, huh? Awesome! I know where to go soon."
"S-So will you let us go?!" One Pixie asked hopefully, hoping that Ash would release them.
"Well, you gave me somewhere to go and I wanna keep my promise. You guys can go, but you gotta tell Twilight everything too." Ash released the Pixies from the grip of Sombra's shadow.
"Tch." Sombra was dissatisfied with letting them go. His shadows diminished and released the Pixies as they flew into the air frantically before taking off quickly through the air, disappearing in the distance.
"Was that really wise? I doubt they will even tell Twilight Sparkle of this." Sombra questioned. "Not to mention, they are still going to plot against you and your counterparts."
"Yeah. They may try something like that again, but I can always just tell Twilight in advance. In any case, I know where I gotta go soon. But first, I made a promise to Sci-Twi. I gotta help with her Summer Camp."
"In that case, I will stay behind and keep an eye on them." Sombra opted to stay here, being away from Ash. "Hurry up with it. If I am gone, I cannot keep Prisma's soul in check if the chance of him awakening slightly comes around."
"No need to worry, I've got my friends for that." Ash assured. "I can count on them to do what they can."
"I see. Well, get going then." Sombra smirked, believing in Ash. With that, the two would part ways as Pikachu waved farewell to Sombra for the time being as the group headed back to Twilight's Castle to enjoy the rest of the day off.
Meanwhile, at Ponyville, Twilight was revealed everything. Once a new day came, Rarity and Applejack immediately spilled everything they saw in that room to Twilight Sparkle who sat there in shock as she learned of the secret history of Prisma.
"All that happened? The Star Tyrant? And Prisma destroying the entire universe?" Twilight blinked her eyes slowly several times as she looked at both Applejack and Rarity. Now she had the full context as to why Prisma tried to destroy everything.
"It's a heartbreaker, isn't it?" Rarity stated sadly. "We all saw it ourselves with our very own eyes as well as hearing the recordings."
"Yep." Applejack nodded her head. "To be honest, I honestly felt bad for the guy after all that happened. Having to go see all your friends and family just vanish and show up without remembering any of that? That's a real downer. I dunno how anypony would feel like if they were in that kind of situation."
"I can imagine." Twilight agreed with Applejack's statement while looking out the window. "To live through so many of those lives, failing over and over again would drive anyone insane. Honestly, I don't blame him for wanting to destroy everything. It's almost understandable on a level, but still..."
"Well, what now? I'm not sure I see Prisma the same anymore, but I most certainly don't want to see this world be destroyed." Rarity wondered. "We're still going to try and stop him if he does return somehow."
"..." Twilight closed her eyes, thinking for a moment. Her mind then went back to when she and her four counterparts encountered a silhouette of Twilight Luminaria briefly and what she said about Ash and the others. Her plan to remake Prisma's soul, effectively replacing Ash and the others with a new being with new memories.
"There is destruction involved. No longer can I seal his soul away. I'm afraid that to stop Prisma, we will have to destroy the souls of all 10 of them. However, that's not all. Once the souls are all destroyed, I will attempt to remake them seconds before their absolute end. And with it, restoration will occur."
At that moment, Twilight realized something. "I promised myself we'd find another way to stop Prisma, so that Ash and the others are never lost as well. But now that I've heard this, there's another outcome I'm hoping for. As the Princess of Friendship, I believe it's my duty to do this."
"Twilight...You don't mean..." Applejack leaned in, wondering if Twilight was saying what she thought she was saying.
"When we get the chance, we try to befriend Prisma."
"Hah?!" The two of them cried out simultaneously while Twilight was unfazed by their shock.
"Befriend Prisma!? A-Are you sure about that?!" Rarity stuttered. "I mean, we do befriend rather powerful figures here and there, even befriending Discord and somehow Sombra! But Prisma..."
"I think he's way different, Twilight." Applejack shook her head. "That guy's been through 88.8 Billion lives. I don't think he's all right in the head if ya catch my drift."
"I know that, but I have a feeling that if we try reaching out to him, maybe we can end things peacefully." Twilight responded calmly. "It's worth a shot and I don't want to write Prisma off. He tried his best to protect the world he loves and everyone there, multiple times."
"I guess..." Applejack removed her hat, scratching her mane. "It's gonna be a tall order. Way harder than Discord or anyone else we've faced before, if ya ask me."
"Indeed. We'd also be speaking to a Prisma who is no longer the cheery boy he was once. He's far removed from how Ash is. A real jaded man." Rarity sighed sadly while twirling her hoof around in circles gently as she stared at it intently, trying to picture just how much pain Prisma had been through for so many centuries with nobody being able to understand his pain. "Quite handsome though, I'll admit. Sad or not, Prisma is quite a looker."
"Rarity!" Twilight and Applejack uttered in unison.
"What?! It's true!" Rarity shrugged her hooves innocently.
"There is one thing I just don't get..." Twilight then looked up at the blue skies. "Prisma battled the Star Tyrant so many times...but we haven't seen a sign of it in our universe. Not even a mention or potential existence of it whatsoever. Either Twilight Luminaria's spell ensured it would never return...or something else is at play here."
It made Twilight curious. If anything, all of this just put things into perspective and further context. It wasn't as cut and dry a Prisma wanting to destroy everything one day. There was more to it. And Twilight had worries about not just the return of Prisma, but the potential existence of what he fought against for so long. Not only that, but the description of the Star Tyrant sounded rather familiar to her as the journey continues.
