My Little Pokémon: Grander World
A New Type of Cutie Mark
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Nightfall.
The sky over Equestria was a canvas of deep indigo, dotted with shimmering stars that twinkled like distant dreams. The peaceful silence of the night was punctuated only by the gentle rustling of leaves and the soft, rhythmic chirping of Kricketots. As the last moments of night clung to the land, the horizon began to blush with the first hints of dawn. The faint glow of impending sunrise crept over the edge of the world, promising a new day, and with it, a transformation that would change everything.
In the vastness of space, the universe was once again dancing and singing to something. Much like how the universe reaction the emergence of Dragon Matter and Fairy Matter, something new caught its attention.
There was an unusual light show taking place in this area, and yet, there was nothing there to cast it. Strange, unnatural lights were dancing in the darkness of space, casting grandiose, colourful streaks across the sky. They were all different colors, ranging from white to yellow, red, blue, green, yellow and pink, moving fast and bright like lightning, almost like fireworks, though with far more energy.
Something was about to happen in the cosmos and it was making an event out of it. It was almost like the universe was welcoming a brand new existence into it.
This was an event that had yet to occur before, even with the universe itself changing the way it is, this was completely different. Flashes of Infinity Energy went off, singing the birth of something new in the universe, as a new existence was coming into the world.
A cluster of stars danced as the universe itself felt like changing. This was instantly felt by Dialga and Palkia, who were in their own dimensions, with Dialga being in a dimension of time and Palkia in a dimension of space.
As they sensed it, they wondered what it could possibly be. This was something both were unfamiliar with, though their hearts and minds told them this was the work of a Creator, which could not be denied.
It was not Arceus's work, but something else entirely. They knew, however, that whatever this was, it was a creation of another.
The light show in space continued as it danced in the cosmic sky. It was like an explosion, almost, but not exactly. A large sphere, made of white and yellow lights, was being formed in space. Within this sphere, an energy was forming, one that felt like it could tear a hole in reality.
This wasn't going to be some kind of attack or anything of the sort. Not one bit. The energy continued to dance and sing in space, with the white and yellow light being the most dominant, but others could be seen, and there were also other colours mixed into it, particularly Red, Blue and Green.
The morning sun streamed through the windows of Ponyville, bathing the town in a warm, golden light. Flowers in the gardens began to shimmer, the sky above Ponyville displayed a glorious swirling pattern of colours.
Everywhere in the world, where during the day or night, the sun could be seen, it was having an effect. A great, massive energy wave was going over the whole world. All the inhabitants of the world would feel a sense of peace and calm. Even the evil creatures within the darkest places, even the likes of Discord himself, would experience a strange, yet pleasant, tingle run down his spine.
Newhoof.
In a small cottage outside the town of Newhoof, a lone Mare awoke in her bed. She had just spent the entire night dreaming about an adventure filled with magic and friendship, but upon awakening, found her life unchanged. As her eyes flickered open, she was met by the same plain walls of the same drab room.
Her name was Stella Bloom.

The Mare groaned and rolled out of bed, her hooves landing softly on the worn floorboards. With a quick stretch and a yawn, the Mare ambled out into the hallway. As she shuffled across the hallway, she felt something on her right hind leg, just below the hip. Looking down, she saw the image of a Cutie Mark that seemed to resemble a Poke Ball, having the colours of Red, Blue and Green.
She stared blankly at the symbol, blinking slowly. As she rubbed her eyes and gazed once more, realizing what this was. "N-No way! I finally got my Cutie Mark!" She was more elated by the fact that she got one, especially at her age. The mare pranced around the room, bouncing from one hoof to the other. Her tail and mane flared as she bounced.
Her joyful display was brought to a sudden stop as her sister entered the room, a sleepy look on her face. The younger Mare stared at her elder sister with a raised eyebrow, clearly not impressed. "Gee, someone's excited to be awake this early. You should've slept more." She yawned, her eyes fluttering. But her fluttering eyes soon changed into absolute shock once she saw the Cutie Mark. "Ah! Is that...?!"
"It is! I finally got my Cutie Mark and this one here looks a lot like the ones from my dream last night!" The mare smiled widely, jumping around. "I can't believe this. It's a dream come true."
"Wow, Sis. Wait...the one from your dream?" The filly raised an eyebrow. "And...why does it look like that? It kinda looks like a Poke Ball actually."
"Hm?" Stella was so excited about it that she didn't properly pay attention to what the Cutie Mark looked like, not even considering the fact that it was this unique. In fact, it was the first of its kind.
The First Pokemon-related Cutie Mark.
And once they realized that, the two sisters let out powerful gasps with their eyes wide.
Canterlot. Canterlot Castle.
News of this travelled across Newhoof swiftly, the citizens of this small town were quick to react, and as was expected, they were very curious, as were the citizens of the city of Newhoof itself.
Stella's newfound status as the first-ever pony with a Pokemon Cutie Mark was the talk of the town and everyone, whether in person or on social media, was quick to voice their opinion, blindsided by this. For this to exist was revolutionary, but they would soon find out there was more to it than just a cool symbol on their body.
The news soon reached Princess Celestia as one of the residents felt that this was too important to not go public, sending her a letter via a Pelipper. Once the mail arrived in Canterlot and reached the Castle, it was quickly delivered to Princess Celestia's hands, who immediately opened it up, taking the letter out to read the news, gasping when she heard the words.
"A Pokemon-Related Cutie Mark?!" Celestia exclaimed, startling her sister with how loud she was. Luna quickly ran up to her, seeing her in a state of shock.
"What's wrong, Tia?"
"Take a gander at this. From the town of Newhoof, apparently, a pony has a Cutie Mark unlike any other. It's one I didn't think was possible until now. A Pokemon-Related Cutie Mark."
Luna was shocked and surprised to hear this. She blinked slowly, not believing it at first. But it was real, the Cutie Mark was legit. "Is...Is this reality? I didn't know such a thing was possible."
"Neither did I. But I suppose...with how things are now, maybe this was to be expected eventually. Still, it's a first for all of us, isn't it?" Celestia smiled at her.
"Wait! W-What will this even do?!" Luna instantly started thinking about the implications. "If I'm reading this right, everything about her talent is focused on Pokemon? What does that even mean? Is she just a talented Pokemon Trainer? A talented Pokemon Coordinator? A Pokemon Breeder or anything!"
"Hmm...Perhaps it is time we visited this newfound citizen. Let's bring this up to the others."
Soon enough, Celestia, Luna and Twilight would make their way towards Newhoof, meeting Stella and her family. When she met with the Royal Sisters, she was incredibly starstruck and overwhelmed with excitement. She couldn't believe that she would meet the Princesses.
Stella would pace back and forth in her room, her hooves tapping on the floorboard, trying to gather her thoughts together. As her pacing continued, she suddenly stopped and let out a heavy sigh. She needed to get her mind clear if she wanted to think properly. "Okay. Okay. Let's think about this. I can't panic or lose myself here. I gotta keep it cool, calm and collective. I am a grown mare, I can totally do this."
Her younger sister watched her with a raised eyebrow. "Are you talking to yourself again? You sure aren't acting like a grown mare"
"Hey, it's totally natural for anyone to feel like this. I mean, you'll get to see a Princess. You've never done that before, have you? So, I'm an adult. I'm gonna go with it. Hehe." Stella chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of her head.
The little filly huffed and rolled her eyes, getting tired of Stella's nervous behavior. "You've never talked to a princess before. In fact, I bet this will be your first time. So, relax." She said to her, smiling gently at her.
"Easy for you to say. But you're right. I'm the one who has a unique Cutie Mark and now, the Princess is coming to me. I should act proud." Stella held her head high. "But I have to wonder...why am I now getting a Cutie Mark? My whole life, I always struggled to figure out why my Cutie Mark never came. Why is it only now that I'm getting a Cutie Mark that's unique?
"Well, maybe something triggered it. Something about the cutie marks is supposed to represent your talent, isn't it? Perhaps a change of events caused yours to finally emerge." Her sister responded.
"Perhaps you're right. Come to think of it, last night, I-"
Suddenly, a knock on the door, which made Stella's body jump and shudder. She gulped and looked at the door. "Y-Yes? C-Come in?"
The door creaked open, revealing the three Princesses. Seeing the royalty, the young mare smiled and bowed her head to the three of them. "G-Good Morning Princesses! Thank you for making your way to our humble abode."
Celestia and Luna bowed their heads in respect. "Thank you. Sorry for the sudden arrival, Stella but we came s soon as we heard about your Cutie Mark. I can see the Cutie Mark you possess is a bit unusual. Would you be able to explain the circumstances?"
"Cutie Marks appear for a reason and for you to have one like that is no small feat. Everyone in Equestria, for the most part, have interacted with Pokemon and have gotten to understand and bond with them to greater levels compared to how it all started." Luna added.
"Well, I didn't have a Cutie Mark for a long time. My parents weren't sure why I never got one at all. For the longest, I've always tried so many things, just to figure out what my Cutie Mark could be. But nothing ever happened." Stella explained, feeling a little bad for the fact that she never did have one for a long time.
To Celestia and Luna, that sounded strikingly similar to the Cutie Mark Crusaders, only the main difference was that they now have their own Cutie Marks as children while Stella was far older than them. For someone of her age to go this long without a Cutie Mark is certainly unusual.
"How interesting." Luna hummed, tapping her chin. "So it took you that long and this is the outcome? What did you do exactly?"
"Well...Last night, before I came home, I was out somewhere searcing for some ingredients for my mom, and as I was making my way back, I came across a Bulbasaur. It was a mountain pass near the usual place I go and shop and right there is when I saw something weird. Apparently, Bulbasaur was caught in the middle of a Rift Storm."
"A Rift Storm?" Celestia and Luna collectively said, exchanging confused looks.
"I think it's the first one I've ever seen. When I saw it, Bulbasaur was in there, trapped. All that Rift Energy was trying to change into who-knows-what. I was scared for Bulbasaur's safety. So, I did what I wanted to do." Stella started thinking back to that very day, which was seemingly the crux of how she got her Cutie Mark.
Yesterday. Willingbell Pass.
It was just yesterday, near a location known as Willingbell Pass. A large mountain range that Stella Bloom often visits to get supplies, usually heading over to a small town that was next to it, named Willingbell, a town famous for their apples.
This was her go-to place. A place where she was well known. As the eldest child, she was given the task of bringing her family supplies and such. This was also a great excuse to visit the library in the city.
Stella walked along the rocky trail, making her way back towards the town after she collected all the things she needed. With a backpack filled to the brim with a bunch of goods, she carried her belongings through the mountains, making her way down.
She was about to descend from the mountain range until she spotted something unusual. It was a small Bulbasaur. This Bulbasaur was stuck, its vines wrapped around the trunk of a tree. She noticed that Bulbasaur was stuck up there because of the winds that were blowing around.
"Hm? Ah! Are you alright?!" Stella gasped and rushed forward, making her way to the creature's aid. As she did, the Bulbasaur was surprised and fearful, seeing her. She stopped moving upon seeing what Bulbsaur was around. Stella looked down to see a massive rift. It was like a tornado, made of blue and pink. It was spinning rapidly, sucking the air and energy. The wind was being pulled into the vortex, causing Bulbasaur's vines to get tied up, preventing him from leaving.
The Bulbasaur was scared and fearful, the poor Pokemon not sure of what to do. If it jumped out, it could risk injury. And yet, it didn't seem safe staying there. Stella looked at the Rift Tornado, not knowing what it was. But she at least knew that it related to Rift Energy when seeing all these colours.
"Sweet Celestia..." Stella whispered under her breath, looking down at the Rift, not sure if she should jump down into it. Stella could just head home with the ingredients, but the earth pony was willing to risk her own safety for the Bulbasaur. "Alright. Stay there, okay. I'm gonna get you out of there."
The Bulbasaur was stunned by Stella's willingness to save him. He didn't understand why a random stranger was willing to go that far. Stella carefully walked forward, being as gentle as she can with the Pokemon. Her eyes darted towards the vines that were holding onto the tree. No other Pokemon were nearby, implying that they've all ran off to avoid the Rift Storm but Bulbasaur was left behind, likely unable to move fast enough.
"Aren't there any other Pokemon here?! Where are they?!" She cried out to Bulbasaur.
"B-Bulba! Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur bellowed. Unfortunately, Stella couldn't understand Bulbasaur, but she could at least figure out why there weren't any other Pokemon.
"No good..." Stella leaned forward, feeling the cosmic pressure as it caused her to step back. If she stepped in there, it would pull her right in. "I can't do this without a Pokemon. No way, no how. Just hold on! I'll be right back!" Stella turned around, deciding to get some help from Willingbell's citizens.
Bulbausar watched her run off, hoping that she could actually do something, since he was stuck and there were no other Pokemon that could help. Bulbasaur looked around and saw the Rift getting larger and closer. Bulbasaur cried out in panic, struggling as he tried to pull himself away.
When she returned to the town, she quickly learned that the citizens were already aware of the Rift Storm and more importantly, the Bulbasaur that was stuck there. "Hm...Bulbasaur's been there for over 4 Days now. All the other Pokemon that lived at that Mountain Pass ran off to avoid the Rift Storm, retreating to the nearby lake or even coming here. Bulbasaur was the only one that didn't have the speed to get away. We wanted to help, but none of us are trainers and the Rift Storm is just too strong." A pony explained, a look of worry on his face.
"There aren't any Pokemon Trainers around here, are there?" Stella asked, worried.
"Oh, we are Trainers. We actually tried helping Bulbasaur out...but that Rift Storm is really something. It's so dangerous, and our Pokemon couldn't take it. Even though the Pokemon we have are powerful, it's nothing like the other Rifts and how much danger it presents." The other pony added, rubbing his hoof.
"We can't get too close since the pressure's too great. We've been trying for 4 days now but...Nothing seems to be working. We've been thinking of heading underneath the Rift Storm by digging a hole under the dirt and then going over the storm." The other said, thinking hard.
Stella could see the stress in the citizen's eyes, as well as the fear. "If something were to happen, what could I do? Rift Energy's too chaotic." One of the residents spoke, sounding defeated. "Far too risky and its hard to tell what will happen to us if we get affected by it
Stella frowned. She didn't like how hopeless they sounded, especially since they weren't willing to try everything. She wasn't even sure if they would be able to save Bulbasaur, but if that Rift Storm got too powerful, they may regret what will happen to Bulbasaur. "Well, there's still the chance to try right? 4 Days isn't that long, so you can still turn this around. Mind if I chime in with some ideas?" Stella decided to be the one to take charge.
Stella had a plan, or so she thought, involving a couple of things, such as digging underneath the storm. That idea was quickly shut down by the mayor who stated that digging was out of the question and not safe. It was too risky. They were not going to endanger anyone.
After all, the most that they could possibly do was getting affected by the Rift Energy and no one in this town wanted to risk it. But if they don't hurry, Bulbasaur will fall.
Eventually, the mayor was convinced by Stella's words, deciding to go with her plan. The citizens all gathered, each and every one of them using their magic to try and dig a hole, making sure it was stable enough for them to go under the storm.
While that was happening, Stella suggested the usage of a net. Using the strongest materials in their village, she had it reinforced, ensuring that it would last long enough for them to throw it over Bulbasaur.
The citizens of the town would work together, throwing the net and aiming for Bulbasaur. As expected, the Rift Storm was incredibly strong and it almost felt like it was resisting the net from catching the Bulbasaur, but the combined force of their strength was able to help.
Once the net was in, Stella was told to grab the end of the net and pull the Pokemon to safety, which was exactly what she did. However, despite how powerful the materials were, they were beginning to break apart as the Rift Storm grew stronger and stronger, forcing Stella to hurry and pull.
But, the net soon broke, the Cosmic Pressure growing even stronger, but luckily for Bulbasaur, the Pokemon landed safely in the arms of a nearby Pony.
The town of Willingbell let out a powerful cheer, knowing that they managed to do it, but at the same time, the Rift Storm grew and expanded, becoming stronger and bigger. The winds picked up, growing more chaotic and dangerous, which caught the attention of Stella and the rest of the townsfolk.
They watched as the Rift Storm grew more powerful and intense, the Cosmic Energy expanding and dancing as if it was alive, a large, white glow appearing as if it was a bright star, blinding everyone who stared right at it.
Everyone in town had to shield their eyes, with Stella letting out a frightened gasp as the light was far too much for her to handle. But the Rift Storm soon calmed down, with the white glow ceasing, returning the land to normal.
"So much for that plan..." A pony sighed.
"It's okay!" Stella bellowed, startling everyone else as she faced them all. "I feared this might happen, so I came up with multiple plans." Stella said.
The others stared at her with widened eyes, amazed that she already had backup plans, and not just one or two, but multiple.
"So, I'll use a different one now." She nodded her head, smiling. "And if that doesn't work, we'll try another until one succeeds. We've done it this far, so why stop now?" She asked, winking.
The citizens went with it, trying out Stella's next plan. She did not come prepared with just one but multiple as a backup, all with the hope of saving the poor Bulbasaur from its perilous fate.
"Bulba! Bulbasaur! Saur! Bulba! Bulba-Saur!" The Pokemon exclaimed, grateful to Stella, who was able to save his life, not once, but multiple times, which was why the Pokemon was determined to thank her somehow.
The first attempt failed and so did the second, third and fourth attempts. Stella tried everything that she managed to ask the Mayor for, relying on the town's best materials, a good combination of moves from different Pokemon to try and overpower the Rift Storm, and a combination of the town's best trainers and their Pokemon, even attempting to get a hold of a trainer's Pokemon that had an ability that was effective against Rift Storms.
Time was of the essence too. All of this was being done in a few hours as some help was even called. But, that help might be too slow to get here in time. The Rift Storm was only growing stronger, adding more pressure to this. Celestia and anyone else could not make it in time, resulting in this town Stella to do their best.
Alas, nothing was working. Everything Stella did seemed to fail, no matter what she did. It was only when Stella tried another method of trying to dig underneath the Rift Storm that it became clear that was not the answer, and it would be a horrible idea.
"Nothing's working." One pony was just about to give up. "We tried all we could. None of these plans worked."
"That can't be..." Stella stood there, trying to think of a plan. But nothing was clicking.
"The Rift Storm's grown far too powerful for us to interact with it at all. It outsped us, I'm afraid." Another pony took off his hat. "Young lady. I'm afraid we'll have to leave it how it is."
"W-What?!" Stella turned around.
"There's nothing we can do. I'm afraid we're too late to get Bulbasaur out of there. But...perhaps there is a silver lining to this. Maybe the Rift Energy will give it a positive effect and grant it an Equestrian Variant." One pony tried looking at the bright side.
"That's the best we can hope for. At the very least, it's a positive." Another smiled.
"But..." Stella shook her head. She was worried about the other outcome. Maybe it will turn out good for Bulbasaur or maybe it won't. Either way, she wanted to try again. There had to be another plan. The citizens were also tired, wanting to get back home as soon as possible.
Suddenly, the earth began to quake violently, with the Rift Storm responding. A crack was made, and the ground started to shake even harder, causing the townspeople to lose their balance. Stella was the first to hit the floor, her legs unable to carry her own weight as she was toppled over. The Rift Storm was now reaching its apex, with the Pokemon inside crying out.
The quake was getting stronger, the ground breaking as the Rift Storm reached its apex. The town was panicking, with Stella looking around. Soon, the energy from the Rift Storm would let out pillars of energy that shot upwards into the air, destroying trees and breaking the ground even more.
The citizens ran in fear, quickly leaving the Mountain Pass and making their way to their town. But the Pokemon and Stella remained, watching as the Rift Storm reached a new height of power.
The ground kept on shaking, the energy from the Rift Storm was now starting to take its effect.
"It's no good. That Rift Energy's getting too powerful. Come, young miss, it's not safe here!" A pony called out.
Stella stood her ground, her hooves digging into the soil. She wanted to save Bulbasaur, not willing to leave it out here in the face of this. Cosmic Energy began rupturing from the cracks in the ground. The town nearby was also in danger of the Rift Storm's power.
"Bulbasaur!" Stella screamed. "Just hold on! I'll save you! Just stay calm and don't be afraid!"
"Saur! Bulba-saur! Saur-bulba! Bulbasaur!" The Pokemon cried out, fearing for its life. Its grip on the tree was finally beginning to end. The vines were slowly slipping away.
Stella knew that she was alone, no one else was around. All she could do was watch, hoping that nothing would happen to the poor creature. She was too weak, and no amount of power she had could do anything to change the outcome of the situation.
At least, that's what she thought. But as soon as Bulbasaur slipped, her body moved on its own, lunging towards the Pokemon, catching it in her grasp before the Rift Storm could snag him. The ground shook and rumbled as the energy was now leaking from the Rift Storm's eye. The cosmic power was rising higher and higher, creating a powerful shockwave that would soon wipe out the entire mountain and the town nearby.
Stella held onto the Pokemon tightly, feeling the cosmic energy surge through her, as if her very soul was being ripped out from the inside. She couldn't move a muscle and was left paralyzed, the pain was unimaginable. Soon, she found herself in the Rift Storm with Bulbasaur still in her arms, unable to do anything, unable to see, hear or smell anything.
The Pokemon was just as scared and fearful, wondering what was going on and where Stella had taken them, not that it mattered anymore. But then, Stella opened her eyes and looked up at the Rift Storm above.
She gasped in surprise, seeing something she didn't expect, something that was not meant to be. Her mind was telling her to move, to get away. Yet, she couldn't move her body, which felt so stiff. At that moment, time stood still as she held Bulbasaur close to her.
"I got you, Bulbasaur..." Suddenly, the Rift Energy began to swirl around Stella, wrapping her in a cocoon of blinding light. She could feel the cosmic powers coursing through her, an overwhelming force that threatened to tear her apart from the inside. Her vision blurred, and strange images flashed before her eyes—alternate realities, impossible landscapes, and endless voids of darkness. It was as if the Rift was trying to pull her into its chaotic embrace.
The two found themselves falling, descending and spiraling through the cosmic air. But they never seemed to reach the ground. It was a freefall, a freefall with no end in sight. Stella tried to open her eyes, but they were sealed shut, and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't wake up. Bulbasaur's cries faded, and the world became quiet.
Time was vastly different in here. Outside, things were incredibly slow but in here, time passed by at a much quicker pace. The Rift Energy was trying to take over, trying to change the very nature of both of their beings, changing the very fabric of their existences. It was clear that this Rift Storm only brought danger to them.
Bulbasaur opened his eyes, seeing that Stella was still holding onto it. As she struggled against the pull of the Rift, Stella’s mind was assaulted with visions from her past. Flashes of memories raced through her brain—mainly about her Cutie Mark. Her whole life she's spent trying to find out why she never had a Cutie Mark and what was her purpose.
The earth pony tried her best to fight back against the pull, but she was slowly losing strength, feeling the Cosmic Energy seeping into her soul. She saw herself as a young filly, struggling to fit in without a Cutie Mark, feeling lost and unsure of her place in the world. She saw the faces of her friends and family, looking at her with concern and pity. The memories twisted and distorted under the influence of the Rift, becoming more and more surreal as time went on.
Stella was beginning to lose hope. Her entire life, she's struggled with having a Cutie Mark and finding out what her talent is. It was always such a mystery and she didn't even know what it could be. It's all been so hard for her and yet, despite the difficulty, she still remained optimistic, living her best life.
But at this rate, that life could come to an end.
"I feel so cold..." She said as her pupils were becoming empty, slowly losing their vibrancy and life. And yet, she still decided to prioritize Bulbasaura's safety.
"Saur...?"
"Sorry...I had to stick around. My dad was always there for me in my worst moments, so I always kept following his way."
The Pokemon watched the mare closely. She had a gentle look in her eyes, despite being in the middle of a situation like this. Stella was starting to lose consciousness.
The Pokemon could sense the danger around them, the Rift Energy threatening to rip them apart. "...Maybe if I was a better pony...Maybe...if I was braver..." Stella whispered. "I wish I got my Cutie Mark in the end though."
"Saur...?" Bulbasaur blinked his eyes.
"Yeah, I've been struggling with my Cutie Mark for years now." She chuckled, tears forming in her eyes. "But...It doesn't matter now. You're more important, Bulbasaur. Your safety is the only thing that matters." She said as a warm smile crossed her face.
Deeper and deeper they went into the Rift Storm. Bulbasaur could feel his body being ripped apart from within, showing that the outcome was not favourable at all. Bulbasaur wished that Stella did manage to succeed, but she lacked the capability, only having the drive to try and succeed. It looked like they would surely meet their end here, lost to the Rift Storm forever.
But then, something unique happened.
The Rift Energy was being pushed back as a glint appeared within Stella Bloom's eyes.
Bulbasaur gasped in shock, feeling a powerful energy emanating from her. Magic poured out of her as her body was suddenly going through a strong reaction. But it was not reacting to the Rift Storm. Instead, it was reacting to her heart and her determination to help a Pokemon that was trapped.
Her eyes flashed back to life as the Rift Storm was being repelled at great speeds, sending the energy shooting upwards into the air. Stella was able to protect Bulbasaur from the Rift, creating a barrier of pure magic.
This barrier was capable of fending off the Rift Energy and preventing it from taking over Stella's body and Bulbasaur's body, soon shooting a beautiful pillar that shot out of the storm and into the sky.
The Pokemon could not believe it, his eyes widening. Stella's body started glowing and emitting a beautiful, radiant light, and a surge of magical energy was released from her body, blasting the Rift Storm away from her and the Pokemon.
Soon, the Rift Storm was gone, leaving nothing but the remnants of the damage that had been done to the land, the area was covered in the aftermath. Bulbasaur couldn't help but feel amazed. He was still holding onto Stella, but he noticed that she was breathing heavily.
Stella was lying on the ground, her body exhausted and unable to move. Bulbasaur watched her carefully, hoping that she was okay. The Pokemon could see the sweat dripping down her face. It looked like she was in pain. But it was at that moment that it arrived. The reason for the Rift Storm repelling.
Her Cutie Mark.
A Cutie Mark finally appeared in response to her actions. Bulbasaur nudged her face as she slowly woke up, her eyes fluttering open. The first thing she saw was Bulbasaur's face, and her vision became clearer.
"Oh...Bulbasaur!" She exclaimed, sitting upright and embracing the Pokemon in her forelimbs.
"Saur!" He responded.
"Are you alright?!"
"Bulba! Bulbasaur." He was incredibly grateful to her. To think she went that far just to save him.
"That's good to hear!" Stella said, smiling as she hugged him tighter. "Thank goodness you're okay, I'm so relieved. You know, it's funny. For once, I don't even mind not getting a cutie mark."
The Pokemon's eyes widened as the Equestrian Pony laughed. She was just glad to know that he was safe. The two looked around, noticing the devastation caused by the Rift Storm. Thankfully, they were still alive.
Bulbasaur nuzzled her face, happy that she was okay too. Her newfound cutie mark shined in the sun, her eyes sparkling with power. She smiled and closed her eyes.
Stella was more than ready to head home as the Moon was beginning to rise. She had not yet felt her Cutie Mark or even noticed it. However, that didn't matter anymore, as long as Bulbasaur was okay, and that the Pokemon was safe.
But, when Stella was heading home, Bulbasaur ended up following her, growing attached to her, even wanting to leave with her, to go and join her in Newhoof.
The other townspeople were in disbelief, surprised that she actually survived and managed to keep Bulbasaur safe. But they only saw her n the distance, unable to spot her newly obtained Cutie Mark.
"After that, I went back home and Bulbasaur became my partner Pokemon. And now, here we are. I guess it happened inside the Rift Storm but I just didn't notice. Everything went blank for me." Stella finished, sighing happily.
"So, could this Cutie Mark be the result of the Rift's randomness then?" Luna raised an eyebrow, chalking it up to Rift Shenanigans once more.
"No..." But Celestia shook her head, taking in everything she had just heard. "From the sounds of it, it must have been your own magic protecting you. It's not a coincidence that it only happened when you put the life of a Pokemon first." Celestia explained.
"Really?"
"There are some instances where if a pony gets a Cutie Mark, whatever situation they are in has a great magical influx. You did this when you tried to save Bulbasaur from the Rift, not thinking about your own safety, but his." Celestia said, a gentle look in her eyes. "Your desire to help someone else was more important than you or him gaining a Cutie Mark, so the Cutie Mark only appeared when you needed it most. You protected Bulbasaur from the Rift, not knowing what could happen." Celestia spoke softly.
"Amazing..." Stella's jaw dropped.
"So as it stands, this Cutie Mark of yours is special because of that. But it is also special since it is the first of its kind. A Pokemon-Related Cutie Mark." Celestia spoke. "Now that this exists...the future's looking far brighter, if you ask me. This could change everything, especially with what Cutie Markes might soon come into fruition in the near future."
"S-So then! What can I do?!" Even Stella wanted to know what her talent was and her abilities.
"You will have to experiment, discover what exactly it is that makes your Cutie Mark special, and then, use it. But until you know how it works, and what you can do, we can't really say for sure what to expect." Celestia explained. "This is all new territory for all of us."
Stella could see the seriousness in her eyes, knowing that it was best for her to learn and explore. After all, it's not like Celestia, Luna, and everyone else had ever seen a Cutie Mark like that. The only exception was the Boundless Cutie Mark but that was still in the realm of pre-existing Cutie Marks.
Noticeably, not a single Pokemon-related Cutie Mark was a part of the Boundless Cutie Mark.
"Alright." Stella nodded her head, feeling her heart flutter in her chest.
Celestia smiled at her, knowing that Stella was a little bit worried, but she could tell that the mare was very eager to know. But she had a feeling that it wouldn't be easy, nor would it be quick, however.
"Don't worry. We will do our best to help you out with this." She smiled, her tone reassuring. "How about you come with us for a while and we'll see what you can do?"
"I-I get to come to Canterlot?! Eeee!" Stella felt like fangirling. "Oh my stars, I can't believe this is happening! Of course, I'd love to!" She nodded her head rapidly.
Luna smiled at the sight of the young mare.
"No fair." Stella's younger sister puffed her cheeks, jealous. But all it would take was Stella asking if her little sister could come along. Celestia was more than willing to allow that to happen. For Stella, it felt like her world was opening up, all thanks to what happened yesterday.
However, away from Earth and in the far reaches of space, in the deepest parts of universe, something was beginning to occur, and the Cosmic Entities were starting to notice.
Specifically, Antibodies.
In response to Stella's Cutie Mark, the universe was now responding, creating an entity made purely out of Cosmic Energy. An entity designed to target anyone who possesses such a Cutie Mark. A cluster of stars came together to form these antibodies as they began to set out, homing in on Earth from an amazing far distance as the journey continues.
