Stella Bloom, a new kind of Prodigy

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Equestria. Canterlot. Canterlot Castle. Day.

The First-Ever Pokemon-Related Cutie Mark has recently been discovered. Stella Bloom, after saving a Bulbasaur from a Rift Storm, awakened a whole new type of Cutie Mark that has never existed. Until now.

At Canterlot, Stella Bloom was brought over to have her talent tested, with Celestia and Luna helping out with this, hoping to help Stella. They decided to start off with the basics and try and see what this Cutie Mark meant. Since it was Pokemon-Related, the usual things that Pokemon Trainers go through would be tested.

"Alright. This is all you will have to try for today, Stella." Celestia had a board ready, showing Stella Bloom the list of things she would have to try out. Just a quick question. You know the basics well, right?"

"Mhm. Even though Bulbasaur's my first Pokemon and I just got him yesterday, I know Pokemon Battles, Poke Balls, Gym Battles and more." She was a bit confident.

"Good. Then we can skip that. The main thing I need to know is how you interact with Pokemon." Celestia turned to Passion while also using her magic to throw a Poke Ball into the air. Out of that Poke Ball emerged her Alcremie. "Let's see what you can do. Some Pokemon Trainers can interact with Pokemon in various ways already, even before this."

"Indeed. For example, Psychic-Type Trainers, especially those that are well trained, can communicate telepathically with their Pokemon." Luna added.

Stella's ears perked up, nodding her head. "So, is there a way I can do something like that?"

"Yes, there is. Some ponies can naturally communicate with Pokemon through thought, others need the assistance of other things. ome use Aura to do the same, more-so it being a spiritual thing. It is clear that you are not a Psychic Specialist whatsoever or even in possession of immense Aura, which is why you will be trying to communicate with them both regardless." Luna continued.

"Okay. I just have to communicate with them without talking." Stella said, turning her head and staring at Gardevoir and the Alcremie, the pair of Pokemon looking back at her.

The room went silent as a gentle wind blew across the chamber. There was a tension in the air, an eerie silence that filled the void between the four of them. Their eyes locked onto each other

"Go ahead. And to make sure it's proper, Passion will not use any telepathy of her own to speak with you. "

The princesses and the Gardevoir nodded, letting Stella Bloom try. She could hear the sound of their voices echoing throughout her mind. She focused on their words and closed her eyes. She was determined to make it work. She took a deep breath, clearing her thoughts, allowing her mind to open itself up to the possibilities of what was around her. She was prepared for whatever would come next, her mind was prepared.

Stella tried her hardest to make it work, wanting to speak to the Pokemon through her mind. "Passion." She muttered.

She concentrated on her mind, imagining a path for her consciousness to follow. She felt her thoughts become clearer as the voices in her mind became louder and more coherent. They echoed in her head, making it hard for her to focus, but she pushed past the noise, refusing to give up. The voices faded away as her mind was finally cleared, allowing her thoughts to come forth.

"Did you pull it off yet?" Stella could hear the Passion's voice echoing within her head. It made Stella gasp, causing her to lean back in shock.

"Yes! I did it!" Stella couldn't believe it at first, but she actually did. She heard Passion's voice perfectly.

Celestia smiled, seeing that she managed it. But the moment Stella tried again, her body started feeling the same way as it did during the Rift Storm. But Stella was not losing consciousness or falling asleep. Instead, she was able to focus even harder and better than she did before, her mind was clear and focused. She felt a strong connection between her and Passion.

She continued to listen in, hearing her voice echoing through her head. The sound of her own voice sounded foreign and strange, yet familiar and comforting at the same time. She heard the words in her mind as clear as day. She was starting to get used to this.

"Can you still hear me?" Passion asked.

Stella nodded her head slowly, smiling widely.

"Perfect." Celestia grinned. "You can understand her speech excellently. Fluttershy can do the same, but that's only because she already had a strong affinity with animals that grew over the years, soon working with Pokemon. Do you have an affinity with animals, Stella?"

"Not really. When I wanted to get my Cutie Mark, one of the stuff I tried was bonding with animals. It uh...didn't work out." Stella did not have an affinity whatsoever, so this scenario of her speaking to Passion was purely her Cutie Mark doing its job.

"How about Aura? Can you feel the Aura? Passion should have plenty of it, so it will be easy to notice." Luna asked.

"Aura..." Stella said as her Cutie Mark was shining brightly. A warm light glowed in her chest. Her Cutie Mark shined and radiated, the energy pulsating and swirling within her. Her vision started to blur as images flashed before her eyes.

Stella could see everything that was around her. She saw the entire kingdom, the ponies and creatures, all of it in its entirety. She felt like she could feel every single emotion and thought, every piece of the city and all of the Pokemon around her. Celestia and Luna were amazed. Just by her being told to try these things out prompted her to learn then in stupendous seconds.

The eyes of the Alicorn Sisters widened as they saw Stella's Aura emanate from her body. "She pulled it off in just seconds...?!" Luna gasped, surprised.

Stella could see the world, all the emotions and feelings of everyone. The colors were brighter, more vivid. Her mind was clear and focused, nothing distracting her from what she was looking at.

Stella opened her eyes, her vision returning to normal. Her body was covered in a warm, comforting light.

"What is this...?" She looked down at herself, feeling the warm, soft aura enveloping her.

"You've got amazing control over your Aura already. Not even a lot of experienced trainers have greatly developed their Aura in the amount of time that you have." Celestia approached the Earth Pony, a smile on her face.

"R-Really?" Stella was not expecting to have great control over it, despite only just starting, and her being the one to bring Bulbasaur out of the Rift Storm, but her being the first pony to have a Cutie Mark of that sort made things unique. "What else can I do?"

"That's something I would like to know." Celestia said. "We'll keep seeing what you can do. So far, it is rather promising the kind of potential you have."

"Wow! I'm like a prodigy then!?"

"Mm...no. Respectfully." But Celestia shut that down. "You did take a while to get your Cutie Mark, so I don't believe any Prodigal Traits are at play. I'd say it largely has to do with this Cutie Mark being the first of its kind. It's a mystery and no one has any idea how it will affect you, not even myself."

"Ah...right." Stella felt like the world was in the palm of her hoof, only for it to be taken away the next second.

"You're still amazing, dear. Don't feel discouraged, it's still a new thing. You're the first in your life to have such a Cutie Mark after all." Luna reassured her.

"Alright. Thank you."

"Now, then. Let's keep going~" Celestia was equally excited to figure out what Stella could do. It was time to see the full capabilities of this.

Stella could see everything in slow motion, her body was moving at a pace that was faster than light.

Celestia and Luna were able to watch her actions. They couldn't keep up, no matter how fast they moved their eyes. Stella's mind was in a state of focus, her thoughts crystal clear. Her body moved with precision and grace, her movements were fluid.

Her senses were heightened, allowing her to pick up every minute detail. She could see every detail in the world around her, noticing every small movement and sound. She felt like how some Pokemon do when they reach great speeds due to either their biology or moves and abilities to help them speed up.

She could feel the breeze against her coat. The smell of the flowers filled her nostrils. She could hear the faint rustling of leaves. She could taste the sweet scent of apples in the air. Everything seemed clearer, brighter, more vivid than it had ever been before. She was able to sense every detail around her.

It felt amazing.

She felt her mind becoming sharper, her thoughts becoming more coherent. She felt her heart beating rapidly. Her blood was flowing through her veins, sending waves of warmth through her entire body. She could hear the rush of adrenaline coursing through her. Her senses were heightened to a level she never thought possible.

"This feels so surreal." Stella said, amazed by what was happening. She was moving faster than anything else around her.

"What you're doing is the ability to see and sense the world as if it's going in slow motion, not just you, but anyone around you." Luna said, smiling. "Aura, while being the soul, has another side-effect which is increasing speed, mostly reaction speed. It mainly works for the Pokemon, not the Trainer. But you are a rare case it seems."

"So...is this what I can do then?"

"The way you're reacting...It's almost as if you are a Pokemon yourself." Celestia twirled her long mane, replying to Stella. "It reminds me of Azurelia actually."

"Who's Azurelia?"

"A pony from another universe. She is actually my hypothetical daughter, one born from another Celestia and Cobalion. Technically, she could be in the same category as you, Stella. The First of her Kind. She is what you would call a Pokemon-Pony Hybrid. You seem to be somewhat like that." Celestia explained.

"Hah...So does that mean I'm a Pokemon?!" Stella jumped to conclusions, only for the sisters to shake their heads.

"Not at all. That's not the case, but your Cutie Mark is causing some kind of synergy to occur, giving you abilities and power beyond what you can do. We cannot explain it further." Luna shook her head. "For now."

"Ah...that makes sense."

"Speaking of...maybe I should pay a visit to Azurelia soon." Celestia looked up. "I promised her I'd see her again and I wouldn't want to let her down. But anyways, since you're reacting to things like how a Pokemon would, let's take it a step further. See how you do with Aura Spheres."

Stella's ears perked up, knowing what Celestia was asking her. The Earth Pony focused, holding out her front hoofs, clasping them together as she imagined an Aura Sphere in her head. An image appeared before her, a small orb of light forming between her hooves. She focused, using her newfound speed and strength, her magic and aura swirling around the ball.

Stella released the sphere, causing it to lightly fly away, her eyes closed. The sphere then flew out of the castle, moving out of the balcony and ascending into the air. It then flew up above the clouds and exploded, causing a burst of light to shine over the kingdom.

The ponies and Pokemon in the streets all looked up, their mouths agape at the beautiful sight.

Stella was standing there with her eyes wide open, amazed by her own work. Her expression was one of awe and joy. She turned back towards the princesses and saw that they were also amazed by what she had done.

"I guess you could say I have an affinity for aura as well, right?" Stella grinned, chuckling lightly.

"Indeed. We can check that off as well." Celestia looked over at Passion, who checked off Aura as one of the things she could do. Stella was showing rapid growth unlike anything that's been seen before and this was her first go. Even Celestia, who was a natural prodigy at a young age, becoming an alicorn early on in her life, did not have this much swift growth with her magic, or any talent, really.

It was quite amazing, and not the only thing she did.

Ponyville. Twilight's Castle.

Over at Ponyville, Twilight, who was still in her mature state, was browsing through her books, trying to find a way to undo her current form as soon as possible. If not, then she'll just go for the location in Galar that the Pixies spoke of. The Nimbus Reach. And considering she found nothing, it looked like the Nimbus Reach would be the only option to turn back to how she should be.

"Well, that's every book I've tried." Twilight shrugged her shoulders. "Ash and I are gonna find the Nimbus Reach. Once I get back, I just have to see this new pony. Stella Bloom's her name and she has the first ever Pokemon-related Cutie Mark. I've never heard of such a thing, but Celestia and Luna seem pretty keen to help her, which means she's got amazing potential."

"No kidding. But what's it even gonna mean by the end of it all?" Starlight asked.

"No clue. We'll just have to wait and see. I imagine more Cutie Marks like hers will show up sometime in the future. Now that we know it's possible for somepony to get Pokemon-related stuff, anything's possible. When a baby's born, they might even be named after a Pokemon or a Pokemon or whatever. That'd be pretty strange but funny."

Starlight could only imagine a newborn foal being called "Squirtle" or "Gengar." "Hm. Yeah..." Starlight said.

"By the way, where's Spike? Is he still out there doing his Dragon Training?" Twilight asked, her eyes focused on her friend.

"Mhm. He's been out a lot more lately. And he's not alone either."

"Huh. Well, as long as he doesn't push himself too hard, I'm fine with it." Twilight smiled.

"Nah. I think he's just out and about. Hopefully. Ever since Dragon Matter made an appearance in our universe, Spike's been out way more often, and he's also been talking to me about his training and how he's doing. Good for him."

"Hehe, sounds like him. Glad he's getting better, though." Twilight said. "Well, I'll be going. Do you think you could take over for the Pokemon School while I'm away?"

"You can count on me, Twilight! Just try and come back in one piece."

"Will do. Alright, so Ash and I are heading off. The three of us are taking the Dragonite Express!"

"See you then." Starlight nodded. "Safe travels."

The Light Canvas. Astral Court.

In the Light Canvas, the heavenly afterlife where all walks of life go to, at the Astral Court, an important meeting was held with the Angels and other Cosmic Beings. It was about the recent development in the Universe.

The Angel known as Strident Heart already displayed a cosmic projection of the universe. There was something happening in the far reaches of space and a few entities, namely the Angels, could sense it, but not identify it to the fullest.

"As you can see here, there is an unusual amount of activity within the deepest reaches of space. From what I can tell, they look to be Antibodies. A powerful cluster of stars are converging in this astral region, responding to a great development."

Strident Heart pointed out a cluster of stars and galaxies that were moving slowly but steadily towards a particular location, where they were gathering. Earth.

"What do you suppose could be happening, Strident? We all felt the universe change to match something significant." The main judge of this court, the cosmic being with a body texture of the universe known as Luceras, the Seraphic Judge asked. "Entire galaxies started to move, their original locations being altered.

"Most likely." Strident Heart nodded her head, continuing. "These galaxies, along with these stars, are responding to an event that occurred not too long ago. One that's very recent. The development that the universe experienced." The Universe shifting to accommodate one being. And of course, it's someone on Earth."

"What do we do?" Another Angel asked. "These Antibodies seem to view this individual as a threat. But to what?"

"I have a feeling these Antibodies are connected to Prisma." Strident Heart replied.

"How are they connected?" The judge asked, her attention being brought upon the stern Angel.

"From what I can gather, these antibodies were never here to begin with. Most likely, they are from that Lost Universe and have just now been revived. Much like how Dragon Matter and Fairy Matter needed something significant to revive them and bring them into this universe, the same can be same can be said for these Antibodies."

"Do you suppose they are allies or enemies of Prisma?" Another Angel had to know, but so far, no one knew the answer to that.

"That, we don't know. We cannot say for sure until these Antibodies fully form."

"But for now, the universe will remain on standby." Luceras the Seraphic Judge announced. "We are to keep an eye on these Antibodies and see how they react. On top of that, we still have to focus on freeing Lightwing. Still to this day, Team Plasma keeps her imprisoned and our Divine Power has yet to break through their defences."

"And now this has come up..." Strident lowered her head, annoyed that her friend was still captured to this day. "Judges, please! I request that we launch a great attack on the Harmonia Kingdom at this rate. So far, nothing has been working. They've managed to turn the stolen Divine Magic into something truly powerful that can resist us while also using Rift Energy as a crutch. We need a plan."

"Hm. So far, minimal progress has been made. So far, we are unsure of how they are still managing to match our power, but one thing is for sure...It seems that Team Plasma has only managed to perfectly harness defensive power with the Divine Magic." Luceras added.

"Defensive, but effecient. How could they have maximized it so quickly?" One angel seemed disturbed by this.

"And even improve its strength over time? Poor Lightwing..."

"But it only makes sense. Lightwing is a purely passive and peaceful angel. Her Divine Magic is strictly defensive and since they are using her to power their defences, they lack the offensive power." Luceras explained.

"Yes. And because of that, it has allowed us to make minimal progress." Another Angel added. "Team Plasma may be able to defend themselves against the Divine Energy, but their attack power is weak. They cannot hope to weaken us in any way. Not yet at least." Luceras responded.

"Exactly. This is the first time a human has managed to do something like this. To capture an angel and use her power for their own personal gain. Not just that, but they have also managed to obtain Rift Energy and harness it in a similar manner to us. That combination is far too dangerous." Luceras replied.

"Then why aren't we launching an attack on the Harmonia Kingdom yet?! The longer Lightwing stays trapped in their kingdom, the more their power grows! On top of that, due to this shift in the Universe, the chance of Ghetsis breaking out of the Abyssal Depths is possible. If that monster breaks free with the kind of power he is gaining, who knows what will come? I suggest we stop being passive for this." Strident Heart pleaded with her fellow angels.

"Calm yourself, Strident Heart. While your concerns are understandable, there are things that we must take into consideration." Luceras responded calmly, looking up at the other angels. "But, it seems that this is unavoidable and Team Plasma knows this. They want us to keep coming. If we do, the chances of them gaining more Divine Magic is high."

"Lightwing's magic is strong, but we imagine that their main scientist Colress will want Divine Magic that can destroy and attack. We will not give him or Team Plasma that opportunity, but we cannot simply sit back and do nothing. Lightwing needs to be rescued and soon."

"So then what do we do?"

"We will be attacking them, but it will be a large attack at the end of the day. However, our method of attacking them will not be so direct." Luceras stood up tall, her cosmic figure glowing in this glorious expanse. "At this rate, a War with Team Plasma is unavoidable. But we can bring it to an end as long as we can stop them before they can improve and expand."

The Angels were prepared to go to war just to save their one angel, refusing to let Team Plasma use her as a tool. It was unavoidable but a large attack was needed to save Lightwing. For the first time in many, many eons, centuries and generations, the Angels would take part in a war. But at the same time, they had other things to worry about, such as Ghetsis and the Antibodies. And the other lurking issue.

Prisma.

Earth. Galar. Blueridge Town. Afternoon.

Ash and Twilight had arrived at Galar via a gateway to quickly show up. But they still had to take a train to find this mysterious area known as the Nimbus Reach. It was yet another location from the Lost Universe that presumably has been revived, according to the Pixies. But there was a chance that it has not yet revived in this universe or maybe it has. They had to find out, but right now, they were at a restaurant.

The two were eating a hearty meal, Ash enjoying a large portion of his food, having a full course meal in a few seconds. Even the workers of the place were surprised at his speed of eating, not a crumb was wasted.

"This place is good!" Ash was impressed by the food and he looked like he was starving, despite not being so. He turned to Twilight who was sipping a smoothie, looking down at the map. "Are you hungry?"

"Mm-mm." She shook her head, her focus being on the map. "I'm still trying to see if we can get there faster. If not, we might need to go on a long walk. We should get going, but at the same time, the weather's not looking so good."

She looked out the window, seeing a rather nasty storm. "The forecast mentioned that today will be raining all day." Twilight was not looking forward to the rain. She was not the type of pony who liked getting soaked in the rain. "As for how we're going to find Nimbus Reach, I know how. Pretty simple.

"Really?" Ash said while Pikachu stuffed his face with food.

"Pika..."

"That's right. It's a place from the Lost Universe, right? You've noticed so far that these locations that were mainly from Unilight usually show up in areas that make sense, except for a few. That's because the Lost Universe, despite how different it was, was a lot like our universe. That memory play of Prisma that Rarity and the others saw showed Pallet Town to them and it was in the same spot."

"Woah, seriously?" Ash leaned forward. "The same spot as mine.

"I went to go and see it for myself at the palace and it sure was. Even in that universe, Pallet Town's spot never changed. So did a few other recognizable places in those memories. So, that means whatever the Nimbus Reach is, it's not gonna be too far from its counterpart."

"Yeah, but what's gonna be near it? I've never heard about a Nimbus Reach in Galar at all. And it's not anywhere on Galar's Map."

"True. It's definitely a Unilight exclusive thing. But that doesn't mean something related to it doesn't exist. Everything that's come from the Lost Universe has proven that. So, based on the locations I'm looking at on the map, I'd say the best place to go to...is here." Twilight's hoof touched the map.

"Here?"

"Yeah. A place called Eldrigeshire Vale. Just at the far, far northeast of Hammerlocke. The Nimbus Reach could possibly be there. Whether it's shown up yet or not, I have a backup plan for that. That's where we need to go."

"Alright then." Ash grinned. "Let's get moving!"

"Pikachu!"

As the journey continues.
