My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Accepted Selves and the Coming of a Great Battle
Previous ChapterNext ChapterGalar. Eldrigeshire Vale. Nimbus Reach. Afternoon.
Ash managed to return to his true current age after being in the Nimbus Reach's Waters for a long enough time. In there, he met four alternate-timeline versions of himself based on the path in life he took. One became a Pokemon Doctor, another travelled solo, the other embraced being King of the Sea and the final one was an Ash that was close to becoming Prisma.
"Ash!" Kimia and Raleigh ran towards the young man who had turned back to his normal age, his clothes being the same ones as before. "Are you alright?"
"Y-yeah..." He sat up, rubbing his head, trying to ease the dizziness. His body was still wet, but at least, he was himself once again.
"Pika..." Pikachu was relieved as well, hugging his best friend. "Chu!"
"Hehe, glad to be back to normal, Pikachu." Ash would hold Pikachu closer to him.
"It seems you succeeded in returning to your original age. Not only that, but you prevented your reality from being stolen by another you." Subspace Lampent spoke. "I was hoping that you would be replaced. That way, a weaker version of you would've been easier to defeat."
"Yeah...I wouldn't say that based on what I saw in there." Ash stood back up with a smile on his face, adjusting his hat.
"No matter. For Her Majesty and for our entire Lost Universe, I will do what has to be done. By eliminating you!" Subspace Lampent was about to let Ash leave freely. Not at all. He would attack Ash, still wanting to remove Prisma from the equation entirely. As always, he was manipulating the water of the Nimbus React as Ash and Kimia both narrowed their eyes while Raleigh stood behind his big sister.
"I refuse to let you do that! Destroyed universe or not, you won't be harming my friend, especially since you almost harmed my brother as well!" Kimia said, throwing her Poke Ball forward. "Appear, Gardevoir!"
"Gardevoir!"
"Thanks, Kimia." Ash thanked her for that before throwing his Poke Ball forward, soon summoning his Lucario. "Lucario, I choose you!"
"Lucario!"
"I will have the water eradicate Prisma entirely by changing your outcome as a whole. "Lampent said. "One good usage from them and an alternate variation of yourself can be unleashed upon the world.
"Is Twilight still in there?" Kimia spoke to Ash, noticing that Twilight has yet to exit one of the spring water in here.
"Twilight will be fine." But Ash had full faith in her, knowing she would make it out as herself once more. "For now, we'll deal with this. I wanna finish up here and get ready for my battle with Celestia. We promised to have an awesome one soon and I don't wanna disappoint."
"You seem quite confident in your abilities, even after seeing what you could've become." Lampent stated. "I suppose it doesn't matter. The end result will be the same. I will stop you before you can grow to Prisma's level."
"I guess I am a little confident. And I guess I shouldn't be, but I can't help it." Ash smirked. "But, I think I know where some of this confidence comes from. I have a dream. And I'm not gonna let anything stop me from achieving it. Not even Prisma."
"A dream? Everyone in my universe had dreams and you took them away. That can be rectified here and now."
"Together, Kimia." Ash would raise his arm and so would Kimia, both revealing their Mega Stones. Right away, they were about to initiate Mega Evolution for their Pokemon.
"Mega Evolve!" They bellowed in unison.
A beautiful golden light erupted from their Keystones, sparkles of energy raining down. Lucario and Gardevoir both cried out, their bodies shrouded by the blinding light, the two of them standing proudly. The lights converged, giving them their ega Evolved states.
The battle would soon begin, Subspace Lampent's body flashing as he would try to flood the area with a wave of water. The two Pokemon were unaffected, charging in with great speed.
"Lucario, use Bullet Punch!"
"Gardevoir, Dazzling Gleam!"
"Rrr!" They attacked together, with Lucario leaping towards Lampent at great speeds, supported by a barrage of rainbows that flew beside him. Lampent would use the water, forming a wave to try and block the attacks. But Lucario's fist tore right through, his fists glowing white with streaks of blue aura. His fist broke through the water, hitting his opponent dead on.
"Y-You...!" The blast sent him back but he would quickly recover. By using Shadow Ball next, he charged the orb of darkness in front of his body, firing it at Lucario who was still in midair.
"Luc!" Lucario leaped out of the way, flipping in the air to land on the ground.
"Gardevoir, use Calm Mind!" Kimia called out, the Pokemon focusing and using her powers to enhance her capabilities for greater effenciency.
"Voir..."
"I won't allow that!" Lampent created a large wave that surged forward, wanting to consume Gardevoir.
"Thunderbolt!"
"Pikachuuu!" Saving Gardevoir and allowing her to focus, a streak of lightning clashing with the wave of water. The two moves canceled each other out, but the electric mouse was already flying in with an Iron Tail, making contact with the Subspace Lampent.
"I-I can't utilize the best traits of the water...!" Lampent was greatly confused. The water should be using its effects, bringing out alternate versions of either of them, or at least something else. He had to wonder why this was the case? And then it hit him.
Twilight.
The reason she hadn't shown herself yet was all clear. Inside the water, Twilight was sabotaging Lampent at this very moment, supporting Ash as always. But she was not doing it alone. In one of these enigmatic waters, Twilight was actually working in unison with her other versions. Multiple Twilights from different paths in life unified their magic to prevent the water from affecting anyone.
All of these Twilights were just as unique as the alternate Ash's. There was a Twilight that never went to Ponyville and stayed at Canterlot, growing her magical capabilities by endlessly studying, eventually becoming the new Ruler of Equestria while still being a unicorn. Another Twilight who appeared to be a Bat Pony, somehow being cooperative. Then there was a Twilight that fully harnessed the Alicorn Amulet, using it for herself.
There was even a Twilight that was a human and mastered magic by staying in the Human World, much like Sunset Shimmer did and another that was a Cyber Pony. So many Twilights that were all connected, helping her right now.
"Great work, all of you!" Twilight looked back at her various selves who smiled back at her.
"The least we can do. Against a common enemy bigger than us, we refuse to let anyone get the best of us." The Unicorn Twilight said.
"You got this, Twilight! Now go out there and show him what you can really do!" The Twilight with the Alicorn Amulet cheered.
"It's better for you to stick with this path. Only eating fruits all the time gets dull pretty fast." The Twilight that was a Bat Pony said. All o f them cheered her on, already being at peace with Twilight. All because they see her path in life as the one that should exist.
"Thank you. All of you." Twilight was grateful. With all Twilights unified, they prevented the full power of the water from ever being used. And this allowed Ash and Kimia to have an easier time. "I can't stay in here for long. Let's end this."
"T-This can't be...!" Lampent was shocked. He was about lose and there was nothing he could do about it.
"Heh." Ash grinned, knowing this was Twilight's doing. As always, his faith in her was strong and unwavering. "I think we can wrap this up pretty quickly, don't you think?"
"Agreed." Kimia would smile too, ready to end this. Gardevoir had gone through enough Calm Minds to where she felt stronger than ever. "End this, Gardevoir! Use Shadow Ball!"
"Gar...!" Gardevoir spread her arms out, building up a blob of shadows of great power in both her hands. "De...!" She then put the two of them together, merging them as one larger and stronger ball. "VOIR!" Gardevoir blasted it, the massive orb of darkness crashing right into Lampent.
"Not yet...! I refuse to give in to this!" Lampent growled, trying to muster up even more power. Using what he had left, he created a vortex of water to try and counter the move. But Gardevoir's attack was much more powerful, piercing through the vortex. The impact was so great, the Subspace Lampent screamed out as his body was engulfed in a huge shadowy explosion.
He yelled, completely overwhelmed by the sheer force of the attack. When the smoke cleared, he tumbled and dropped to the ground, fainting. The Subspace Lampent having been defeated. "Ugh..."
The water splashed on the ground, signifying his defeat. And out of the water, Twilight had walked out, showing up as her regular current age, back to normal at last.
Lampet grumbled, the Subscape energy around him fizzling. Just then, it would fly out, appearing a tiny ball. That small ball would linger there, a voice groaning from it. As Ash and the others watched it, they soon heard Lampent speak how most Lampent do. "L-Lampent...?"
"Hm. Looks like there was something inside Lampent." Twilight observed, looking at Lampent and the small ball of Subspace Energy. She also noticed how all that Subscape Energy vanished from Lampent's body, returning him to a standard Lampent.
"T-This can't be..." The voice that possessed Lampent groaned. "I failed." The voice was much younger and belonged to someone else. From what the could gather, it was as if a soul was possessing Lampent this whole time. A soul from the Lost Universe. The tiny Subspace Energy dropped to the ground, wobbling a bit. "You...do you honestly think you all can ensure this world's safety? What makes you all so sure that it won't be destroyed like the last one?"
"We'll try our best, because one thing's for sure. We're not losing this universe." Twilight declared with absolutely confidence.
"It's what we'll keep on doing, no matter what." Ash said.
"Ugh..." The voice had nothing else to say. He simply groaned in defeat. There was nothing more he could do as Kimia helped Lampet up from the ground. With the battle and entire conflict over, tthe man who was running this auction peeked from his hiding spot, nervously looking at the Nimbus Reach.
"I will be the one purchasing the Nimbus Reach." Kimia turned to face the man, deciding to buy it.
"S-Sold." After everything that just happened, Kimia would easily get the Nimbus Reach without anyone else competing. The man did not want to go through something like that again.
"So we're actually getting this place? But what do we do about it, sister?" Raleigh asked. "A place like this is just out in the open now. And that water..."
"It would be easy for someone else to enter this water and end up having themselves replaced with another version within their life. Raleigh, I suggest you send protection to the Nimbus Reach." Kimia suggested to her little brother. A place like this had to be protected now that it would be under the Azoth Kingdom's control.
The auction was officially over. And of course, Ash and Twilight were glad to be themselves now, but a part of them did enjoy being much more older and mature for a while, no doubt about it.
With the Nimbus Reach under the Azoth Kingdom's control, the three of them left the area, returning to the rest of the city. This gathering event would also be halted due to the attack, but would resume when ready. Kimia and Raleigh were prepared to return to the Azoth Kingdom, but not before Ash and Twilight.
"With this recent attack...Ash, I don't think you'll be safe for a while. Just an estimation." Kimia spoke. "You have a lot of people out to get you. Whether they from other Universes out there or from that Lost Universe. I know you can handle yourself, but the Azoth Kingdom will do what it can to ensure your safety."
"Mhm. You said you were going to have a battle with Princess Celestia, right? We'll come to Equestria and speak with her. As the Ruler of Azoth, I say we work together to grant you full protection." Raleigh suggested. "And when that happens, you can do whatever you want in our Kingdom, including battling and training Pokemon. Or, if you need a place to stay, you can live in the castle. It's the least we can do for you, Ash."
"You guys..." Ash appreciated this, knowing that the Azoth Kingdom would look out for him. "Thanks. I'll take the protection, but I'm totally fine with are as always. It's still awesome having all my friends back me up though."
"That's good to hear." Kimia said. "I suppose it's time for us to return to the Azoth Kingdom. I'll make sure to visit you in Equestria soon and discuss your future plans with Celestia. Good luck, Ash."
"Thanks. I appreciate it." Ash nodded. "Well, we should get going, right, Twilight?"
"Mhm. The body is weak right now and needs to relax a bit." Twilight stretched her hooves. "Let's go back to Equestria, Ash."
"See you pretty soon then." Ash waved at Raleigh and Kimia, the two waving back at him. The young man and the Pony Girl would head off. All will be fine now that the Nimbus Reach was under the Azoth Kingdom's protection. For the time being, it would be guarded by them, just in case it would be used again.
Ash and Twilight were making their way out of Eldridgeshire Vale, the duo speaking about what just happened. "Well, that place and Unilight Palace showed us what we can expect. I didn't take into account how these lost places would affect everyone else." Twilight spoke, taking the existence of this lost locations more seriously. "Who knows how many have shown up recently, and any of them could appear at any time. We may not be able to tell when this happens."
"Yeah, that's true. But I bet reaching out to everyone else we know across the world will help a bunch. Plus, the souls inside of us can just recognize a place when we see it even once, so that's pretty easy for us." Ash mentioned.
"True. That's a big advantage for us. But you know...Inside that water, when I was talking to all my alternate selves that took different paths in life, I didn't see one that was related to Twilight Luminaria. You said that you saw one version of you that was the closest to awakening as Prisma, right? How come I didn't get the same?"
"Beats me." Ash had no clue, but it did have to make him wonder. Perhaps it was due to how Prisma and Twilight Luminaria were as people. Despite being the reincarnations of the two, it could be because of the way they approach things in life that dictated how the water would react. Twilight Sparkle is more innocent, curious, and determined, while Twilight Luminaria is more serious, cunning, and focused.
"Still, I'll admit that it's nice to know that I have more potential to be great. It's like seeing it in another pony's eyes, and feeling the same way as them. I kinda wanna reach that level."
"Huh? You wanna become Twilight Luminaria?" Ash said, slightly surprised.
"Not really. Not her entirely, but someone on her level. With how things are and the threats we face, I need to become someone with enough capabilities as her. No. I need to surpass her one day, if possible."
"That'd be pretty awesome. You'd be all kinds of strong!" Ash pumped his fist.
"I mean, if I can reach that level. From what I know, she was something else. If she ever awakens too, no doubt she'll cause a lot of trouble for everyone else just stop Prisma. Ash. No matter what happens, neither of us can let them fully take us over." Twilight declared and Ash greatly agreed.
Even if there would be times where they are taken over, they would do their best to make sure it is never permanent or even gets out of control For the life of one and the lives of many.
"I'd best get some rest. In just two days, Celestia and I are gonna throw down and have a battle." Ash began talking about his upcoming battle with Princess Celestia.
"Il be Princess Celestia's first big battle that doesn't involve a threat. I can imagine all of Equestria is going to want to see this. But Ash...You'd better not humiliate our princess." Twilight nudged him.
"No need to worry. Celestia's tough, so it'll be an awesome battle for sure. I'm super excited!" Ash grinned.
"I know you are." Twilight giggled, smiling at him.
Equestria. Canterlot. Canterlot Castle. Late Afternoon.
Speaking of Celestia, she nad Luna had finished testing Stella Bloom for the day. So far, they've seen what this Pokemon-related Cutie Mark could do, assessing her capabilities. Right now, the two sisters were in their thrones, having a little conversation.
"Well, it appears that her abilities are versatile. A Jack of All trades." Celestia said. "When she uses her talent, it's almost as if she's becoming a Pokemon herself. And there's still so much more we don't know about it."
"Indeed. What are we to do then? News of this has obviously broken out greatly and you can imagine what that will do. Team Plasma is still out there. What if they or someone like them wee to catch wind of Stella Bloom's existence because of her Cutie Mark?" Luna asked.
"Just as crucial, what this means for Equestria. Something like this has happened before." Celestia looked up. "Far, far before our time. There was a Cutie Mark that was one-of-a-kind, different from the rest. But after a certain amount of time, other ponies with Cutie Marks similar to it started showing up, being a sign of the Magical Flow being altered, giving way to new possibilities."
"You believe that Stella's Cutie Mark will have an effect on the rest of Equestria?"
"Perhaps. Now that this Cutie Mark of hers exists, in the future, whether near or far, ponies Pokemon-Related Cutie Marks will start popping up more often, all with new talents. The Magical Landscape will change greatly, just like how it did oh-so long ago."
"Ah, I see. If this does happen, we should be prepared, yes?"
"Correct. For better or for worse. And speaking of being prepared, I am currently in the midst of a preparation myself." Celestia spoke, getting up from her throne. "I'm so excited~"
"I-I'll be rooting for you sister! The whole way through!" Luna exclaimed.
"Hoh? Are you sure you're not also rooting for, Ash?" Celestia nudged her little sister, referring to her crush on Ash. Luna blushed, looking away with a slight frown.
"Of course, I will be cheering for the both of you. And of course, I'll be cheering for Ash. I hold hope that he'll do well against you in battle, sister. Though I don't know what type of battle it will be..." Luna wondered. "In a way, the two of you are very similar. You are too into the more exciting things in life."
"All the more be spectacular." Celestia hopped off her throne, walking off. "I'll be staying up for the night to practice a bit. I'll make sure this will be the greatest battle of my life."
For Ash and Celestia, it would be a great battle no doubt. Both of them knew that much and it hasn't even started yet. Luna was right. The two can be very similar a lot of the time. More than just two sides of the same coin. This upcoming battle between the King of the Sea and the Ruler of Equestria would be one to remember by many. Not just from ponies either as the journey continues.
