Ash vs Celestia

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Equestria. Canterlot. Equestria League Stadium. Day.

The time for Ash and Celestia's battle had come. Located here at the Equestria League Stadium with a crowd of massive proportions, it would be a match to remember.

"You ready, Celestia?" Ash asked.

"Are you, Ash?" Celestia returned. The two chuckled, getting fired up.

"Always! By the way, you only have 5 Pokemon on you. Want me to bring it down to 5 too or do you wanna go all the way?"

"Going all the way is my thing. And besides, that won't be a problem. I asked for a certain someone to partner up with me as the 6th Pokemon. You'll find out eventually." Celestia winked.

"'Scuse me." In the seats, scooching over were Chrysalis and Thorax, who showed up just to see this. The Changeling Queen and her right-hand were here, sitting next to Cherilee and Mayor Mare.

"Hm?" Mayor Mare took a gander at what Chrysalis brought with her. She came here holding an Ash flag as well, obviously showing support for him. Not only that, but most of the changelings were holding their own Ash flags and apparel, having a little chant.

"Ash, Ash, Ash! Ash, Ash, Ash!"

"Alright. The rules are the same as always." The referee spoke to them both. "It will be a Full 6 on 6 Pokemon Battle with substitutions. The battle is over when all of a trainer's Pokemon are knocked out. The usual. Trainers, call out your first Pokemon."

"In that case, I know who I'm starting with." Ash looked over to his best friend, nodding at him. Pikachu nodded in understanding, knowing what had to be done. "Pikachu, I choose you!"

"Pikachu!" Pikachu leapt forward, landing in front of Ash and being the first one to start it off.

"Then I'll be following suit. Go, Kommo-o!" Celestia threw her Ultra Ball, releasing the majestic Pokemon from within. It appeared before her, roaring.

"Kommo-o!"

"Pika, pika." Pikachu and Kommo-o exchanged a glare. Ash and Celestia's Pokemon have never battled each other even once. This would truly be a first, each side having their own battle experiences that would shape how they approach each other.

"Ready, Ash? Don't disappoint me." Celestia said.

"Same goes to you, Celestia."

"Alright then..." The ref started the clock. Everyone held their breath, ready to see this finally happen, the suspense being over the top of them. "3, 2, 1! Battle Start!"

"I'll get the first in! Pikachu, use Quick Attack!" Pikachu began his assault, dashing across the field with great speed.

"Intercept him at once! Kommo-o, use Dragon Claw!"

"Kommo-oooo!" Kommo-o roared, raising his claws up, the tips glowing white with energy. As Pikachu charged forward, he and his Trainer both knew this was coming, so it would be best to avoid this attack.

"Pika!" Pikachu followed his trainer's words, jumping into the air to avoid the attack. After dodging it, using the energy of Quick Attack, he would zoom through the air, propelling himself towards Kommo-o and striking the back of his head.

"Ko!" Kommo-o narrowed his eyes, barely feeling the impact against his steel-like scales. He could easily resist it as Kommo-o had an edge over Pikachu in that department. He would turn around, grabbing Pikachu with his powerful arms and throwing him down.

"Pi...Pika!" Pikachu fell on his back, but immediately jumped back onto his feet.

"Dragon Claw again! Strike him once more!" Celestia commanded.

"Kommo-oo!" Kommo-o raised his claws, the tips glowing with a fiery light. With a mighty roar, he would swing his claws, sending a flurry of fire-charged slashes Pikachu's way.

"Pikachu!" Ash reacted fast. "Jump up and use Iron Tail!"

"Pika!" Pikachu obeyed, using Quick Attack to dash into the air and flip around, avoiding the incoming strikes and swinging his tail, forming it into a metal. It would clash against Kommo-o's claws, causing a bright explosion of yellow and orange.

"Flash Cannon! Now!" Celestia instructed.

"Kommo-o!" Kommo-o opened his maw, his eyes glowing white as a sphere of light energy formed in front of him.

"Use Electroweb!" Ash countered.

"Chu!" Pikachu quickly jumped away from Kommo-o, landing on the ground. His tail, still a bright, shiny, metallic color, he would spin around and swing his tail, creating an electrified web that would surround the floor of the stadium

The web would soon surround Kommo-o, preventing him from firing his Flash Cannon. It would also absorb the incoming Flash Cannon, leaving the dragon trapped. Kommo-o staggered greatly, Twilight and her friends leaning forward and commenting on this battle.

"Nice! Now that he's trapped, he's wide open!" Twilight knew what was coming next. A lot of the time, when Pikachu's Electroweb restrains someone, he follows it up with a Thunderbolt and Iron Tail for great damage.

"You got it, Pikachu!" Ash said. "Use Thunderbolt and follow it up with Iron Tail"

"Pika...Chuuuu!" Pikachu roared, his cheeks sparking with electricity. He leapt into the air, charging up all those volts, but Celestia already knows this attack pattern too well from Ash as seen from the smirk that formed on her face.

"I don't think so. Kommo-o! Use Clanging Scales!" She called out.

"Kommo-o...Oooooohhh!!!" Kommo-o bellowed, slamming his hands on his own body and sending shockwaves that broke the electrified webs apart, shattering them like glass. Not only that, but the shockwave would clash with the Thunderbolt, breaking it apart and leaving Pikachu stunned, his body falling out of the air.

"P-Pi!" Pikachu bounced and tumbled on the ground, his Electroweb Tacgtic coming to an end.

"Man! That usually works..." Ash said. But it was too be expected. Kommo-o did have a great counter to such a tactic. "Come back for now, Pikachu!" Ash said.

"Pi. Pika!" Pikachu would rush back to Ash, taking a breather until he was ready again.

"Great stuff out there. Hold back for now, okay?" Ash gave him a thumbs-up before facing Kommo-o. "Not too bad of a start. Get in nice and easy with a lot of speed. That's how I like to start my battles."

"Naturally." Celestia replied. "I expected that, so I made sure that from the very start, I would try and cripple your usual advantages, Ash. But not only that, every battle that's taken place in here and even in the old stadium, I'm using all that knowledge to my advantage.

"That's true. Princess Celestia has watched every Pokemon Battle that's happened in this stadium and the last." Fluttershy remembered. "I bet she's going to use all those tricks that everypony who took part in those competitions did."

"All of them?" Rainbow Dash blinked, wondering if Celestia could do that. It wouldn't surprise her if she managed to remember every single one.

"Come on, Ash! I bet so many bits on you for this one!" Diamond Tiara bellowed.

"Alright! Lucario, I choose you!"

"LucarIo!" From the air, Ash sent out his Aura Pokemon. The Aura Pokemon landed on the field, clenching his paws. And much like how Ash and Celestia had their fans, even their Pokemon had fans. Pikachu obviously had a lot of fans, always been seen next to Ash's side and the same goes for Lucario. The second he arrived, cheers and shrieks would come his way. "Rrr?"

His ears perked up as he heard all those cheers from his fans. Many fangirls would scream the loudest over him, more than happy to see him. Younger boys shared that same excitement as the fangirls, making Lucario blush out of embarrassment.

"Okay, Lucario. Let's focus on putting some pressure here!" Ash tightened his gloves, looking at the Mega Stone on his glove, but he wasn't about to use it yet. "Go, Lucario! Use Bullet Punch!"

"Rrr!" In a flash, Lucario dashed across the field, appearing right in front of Kommo-o in an instant. He would begin his assault with his powerful punches, launching multiple strikes in the blink of an eye.

"Kommo-o! Use Dragon Claw!"

"Ko!" After being pushed back, Kommo-o would raise his claw, his claws glowing with white energy. He would promptly block Lucario's next attack, parrying his punch.

"Lucario!"

"Kommo-o!" Despite that, Lucario would quickly strike the ground with his paw, unleashing a strong shockwave that would push the two Pokemon apart. Kommo-o stumbled back while Lucario remained steady.

"Bullet Punch again!" Lucario's aura would form a large blue orb in his paws, which he would use to create a series of quick strikes. He would rapidly throw out a barrage of punches, each strike faster than the next.

"Match it with Close Combat!"

"Kom, Ko, Kooommm!" Kommo-o, his claws covered with the same energy, began swinging his fists, clashing against Lucario's own. The two would go back and forth, their punches and kicks being a blur as they matched each other.

The rest of the stadium cheered and roared as the battle continued, the crowd getting into it. Sparks would fly from their strikes colliding with each other. Lucario would sway his head, managing to avoid a staggering blow before returning one to Kommo-o, uppercutting his chin. But even after landing that hit, Lucario would be struck regardless, receiving a strike to his jaw instantly.

"Ooooh! I hope that wasn't too hard." Rarity gasped, worried about her dear Lucario. Everyone could hear that hit, the sound of it reverberating in the air.

"Ca!" Lucario managed to block the next hit though, putting both arms up. Kommo-o drove his claw forward, pushing Lucario back while he was blocking, trying to breach his defences. Lucario's feet dragged across the stadium floor.

"Mo!" Despite blocking successfully, Kommo managed to uppercut Lucario, letting past his defence and letting out another loud, ear-ringing blow that sounded like a hammer striking a wall at full force. "M-mo-koooo!" He would finish his barrage off with a powerful kick.

"Caah!" Lucario was kicked in the chest, causing him to tumble away, skidding across the floor. But the Aura Pokemon would immediately get back up, still raring to go.

"Aura Sphere!" Ash was quick to counter.

"Cario!" Lucario formed an aura sphere in his paws, taking a breath and holding it back. He would charge forward, closing the gap between him and Kommo-o once again.

"Use Flash Cannon!"

"Ko! Kommo-o!" Kommo-o responded with Flash Cannon, holding both his arms out, charging a sphere of white energy. With a roar, the sphere would be launched forward, rushing towards Lucario.

"Block it and send it back!" Ash commanded.

"Ca!" Lucario would swing his hands, his Aura Sphere colliding with the Flash Cannon and stopping it in place. He would use his strength and force the white sphere back. Kommo-o's eyes widened at the sight of his attack returning his way, which was not good for him.

"Ko, ko, KOOOOO!" The impact of his own attack would send the Dragon Type flying back, skidding across the field, leaving a trail in his wake. The stadium erupted with roars and cheers, many on the edge of their seats as the battle was beginning to heat up.

"Goodness...This has me sweating seeds!" Cherry Jubilee would fan herself, unable to contain her excitement. But a battle like this made so many nervous about how it would turn out.

"Now's our chance! Lucario! Use Aura Sphere and finish him off!"

"Awesome stuff, Lucario! Let's keep it up! Now, use Double Team!"

"Rrr!" Lucario would leap into the air, splitting himself into multiple clones. Each and every clone would then create their own aura spheres and prepare to strike.

"Disrupt them all! Clanging Scales!"

"Kommooo-ooo!!!" Kommo-o would rise to his feet, roaring loudly as his scales began to vibrate. He would slam his claws on his body, generating a huge shockwave.

The shockwaves travelled far, but the Lucarios would all start descending, approaching Kommo-o while this was happening. SOme clones were being taken out from the force of the shockwaves. But Lucario would manage to avoid these as best he could, still approaching.

"Pull through, Lucario!"

"Luca! Rio!!" The remaining clones would pull their arms back, some fading away from the shockwaves. As they pulled their arms back, they threw the Aura Spheres down, clashing with the shockwaves.

"Kommo-oooo!" The combined force of the Aura Sphere and Clanging Scales would cause an intense explosion. Ash, Pikachu, Celestia and Lucario shielded their eyes from the explosion, which caused the entire stadium to rumble and shake, the audience gasping, their eyes wide as they watched the spectacle.

As the smoke cleared, the Lucario clones had disappeared, all of them vanishing in the explosion. Ash and the others thought the worst, that the explosion would've done something to Lucario. But that wasn't the case.

"Rrrr..." Much to their relief, Lucario was okay, his body surrounded by a blue aura as he descended. He managed to pull through that attack, still having more in him.

"Nice! He took that!" Rainbow Dash grinned, feeling the rush.

"Hah! I was totally right to bet it all on Ash!" Gallus had also bet money on Ash, speaking to his fellow Griffons, who all put money on either Ash or Celestia, unable to help themselves. "With this, he'll win for sure! I know it!"

"Keep dreaming!" Gilda spoke louder than him, shoving the younger griffon aside. "Come on, Princess! I bet a year's worth of bits on you!"

"Man. That could've been bad for Lucario." Ash adjusted his hat. "Not too shabby."

"Indeed. But I believe we've done enough dancing around. One of our Pokemon has to go down first, and I believe Lucario will be the first." Celestia said before using her magic to suddenly summon Kommo-o's Z-Crystal. The Kommonium Z.

Ash expected this. All he had to do was prepare for it.

Celestia revealed the Z-Ring, pulling it out of her mane and slipping it onto her hoof. The crowd gasped at this sight, witnessing Celestia drop the Z-Crystal into the ring as they all knew what was coming. Z-Moves were among one of their favourite things that have come from the Pokemon and they were more than excited to see Celestia pull one off.

"You got this, Princess!" The ponies and some hippogriffs humans cheered, many of them having the same excitement as the ponies did.

"It's the moment you've all been waiting for. It's time to witness my first Z-Move. So without further adieu..." She looked down at Kommo-o as the Power of would surge through the ring.

"Kommo-o? Kommo-oooo!" Kommo-o was enveloped with the same power, a blazing blue aura surrounding him. He would stomp his foot and roar, causing a giant pillar of white flames to surround his body, engulfing him. The stadium trembled, the pillar of fire reaching the sky, the heat radiating off the clouds themselves.

"Behold. This is the very embodiment of Kommo-o's heart and soul. Years of hardened fortitude all put into one attack." Celestia began striking a series of poses that Kommo-o would also do. Both of them were perfectly synchronized.

"Rrr..." Lucario watched the entire thing, a little bit intimidated by the energy coming from them.

"With all our heart and soul! Kommo-o! Clangorous Soulblaze!"

"Ko...Mooo!" Kommo-o then shook the scales on his body before leaping into the air, releasing a purple shockwave from his mouth at full power. Now, everyone was waiting to see how Lucario would respond to such an attack that rippled the air itself, sending out shockwaves that travelled across the whole stadium, causing it to shake and the audience to duck down and hold their heads.

"Charge in, Lucario! Reversal and Double Team!"

"Rio...!" Charging up his strength, Lucario leapt off the ground, approaching the attack head-on. As he did so, he split his body once more, the clones manifesting in front and behid him as if he was leaving a trail of afterimages. And in each of their paws, an orange light would surround them.

"LUCARIOOOOO!!!" In a flash, the Aura Pokemon would dash forward, dashing across the air at high speed, his fists glowing with orange energy. He would approach the purple shockwave with a great number of his clones following his lead.

One clone smashed its paw against the attack, clashing with it before being destroyed. The second clone behind it would do the same. Then the next and the next. As each clone struck, their punches would increase the power behind the attack, the aura and shockwave becoming brighter and more powerful, growing larger and stronger.

But then, Lucario started passing through the attack, having each of his clones use their Aura to protect him from the attack. He would emerge, surrounded by the aura that would form into an armor.

"What in tarnation is that?!" Applejack and her family collectively said in awe.

"Wow! It's an Armor or Aura!" Sweetie Belle cried out, her eyes alit with wonder along with many others. They've never seen Aura be used in such a way. The Aura beautifully shined in the light, the blue aura covering Lucario completely, protecting him from the attack.

"Lucario!" Lucario would then continue his assault, passing through the attack and making his way towards Kommo-o and his Trainer. He would then use all his strength, the aura covering his paws growing stronger and brighter, causing a great aura to surround his body, making him glow like the sun.

"He's actually pushing through?!" Celestia jerked back at this development.

"Hehe, yeah! This is something we came up just two nights ago! Our Aura Armor!" Ash declared a new tactic exclusive to his Lucario. And it was very much effective. "Now, strike!"

"Lucario!" Lucario let out a great roar, the energy within him increasing and expanding, his aura exploding. Breaking through, he struck Kommo-o. His punch was so strong that it created a giant shockwave, one that would destroy the rest of the purple shockwave that was in its path.

Kommo-o, who was unable to break through, could only watch as his attack was torn apart. There was nothing he could do. His eyes were wide with surprise, feeling the power that came from Lucario's fist. It was too late when he felt the pain, the aura surrounding Lucario's body clashing against his scales.

"M-Mo-oooo!" He would be sent flying across the stadium, the impact being so great that the wind around him was pushed back. Celestia's eyes widened, the Princess watching Kommo-o be sent flying back, the Dragon type crashing and tumbling across the ground.

"Kommo-o..." Kommo-o had fainted, collapsing to the floor. The audience stood up and cheered, Ash receiving the first knockout of this already intense battle.

"Kommo-o is unable to battle! Lucario wins!" The referee announced. Ash grinned as he fist-pumped, jumping in the air.

"Great job, Lucario! You really did amazing out there!" He said. "Our Aura Armor worked like a charm!"

"Luca, Lucario!" The Aura Pokemon smiled, feeling happy that he won.

"Well, this is certainly something I didn't expect. Then again, it's only natural for him to throw something unexpected at his opponents." Celestia returned Kommo-o to his Poke Ball. "You did well, Kommo-o. Rest up."

"Alright, Celestia? What's your next plan of action?" Ash asked, wondering who she was going to send out next.

"My, my. Don't think I'll let this momentum escape entirely, Ash." Celestia smiled, having her magic hold up another Poke Ball. "Not even for a moment. I plan to keep it going until I reach that apex. And I know you'll help me get here, Arcanine!" With the Poke Ball being thrown, Arcanine was up next.

"Arcanine!" Celestia's Arcanine stood across the field from one another, ready to take on the opponent.

"Hm...Take a breather, Lucario." Ash decided to give Lucario the time to rest up, returning him to his Poke Ball. For Arcanine, he knew he needed a way to deal with his speed. Arcanine was both powerful and fast, that much was known. "Dracovish! I choose you!" Throwing the next Poke Ball forward, he would send out his next Pokemon.

"Dracoviiiiiish!" Dracovish, the Land-Water Pokemon, let out a mighty roar, appearing before the entire crowd.

"Type Advantage? Or something else as always?" Celestia questioned.

"Nah. I'm not always thinking about Type Advantage, honestly." Ash chuckled. This was very much true. He usually battles not with Type Matchups in mind, but with the flow of the battle and the wild tactics and strategies he's got. "I'm just trying to do what comes naturally and have fun with it! But Type Matchups help too."

"I feel the same way, Ash." Celestia was on the same wavelength. She preferred to battle in the way she sees fit, rather than worry about the type advantages and disadvantages. "Then again, there are times where Type Advantages come into play. I suppose that's something I've learned to look out for based on what I've seen."

"It's always something you should look out for. Type Advantage or not, it's something to always keep in mind. But for this battle, I'm going to focus on the flow. How about we have a bite off with them?"

"Agreed. Arcanine, use Thunder Fang!"

"Dracovish, use Fishious Rend!"

"Dra! Dracovish!" As stated, both Pokemon would have a bite off, their fangs glowing with a blue and orange energy respectively. They would charge forward, their fangs ready to clash as they both leapt into the air.

"Arc!" Arcanine managed to land his attack first, biting onto Dracovish's neck.

"Viiiiiish!" The Water-Dragon Type let out a cry of pain, the electricity shocking his body. But it would then swing his head, throwing Arcanine off him, forcing him away. It would then use the momentum from its spin to charge right into the Fire Type. "Draco!!" Dracovish chomped his teeth into the side of Arcanine's body, dealing super-effective damage.

"A-Arcanine!" Arcanine growled before managing to have the strength to push himself off. Both Pokemon could easily push each other off even if one bites down onto the other. This was something both Ash and Celestia knew as well.

They went back and forth, biting at each other while moving across the field. Eventually, the two would break apart and dash off, charging across the field with a large amount of speed. They kept this up, trying to gain the advantage.

However, as this want on, it was clear that Arcanine was starting to outpace Dracovish, running circles around the prehistoric Pokemon. Dracovish was falling behind, unable to stay in Arcanine's lane, the gap growing gradually.

"Hang in there, Dracovish!" Ash tried to encourage.

"Drac!" Dracovish responded, trying its best to keep up, but it was clear the Water-Dragon-Type was losing steam.

"Arcanine, use Extreme Speed!" Celestia ordered.

"Arc, arc!" Arcanine would begin running at high speeds, the ground behind him would break apart as the speed was so powerful. The speed alone could cause the ground beneath him to crack and crumble. He would then appear in front of Dracovish in the blink of an eye, catching it off guard. "Canine!"

"Vi-Viiiii!" Dracovish would be hit with a powerful blow, a large cloud of dust and sand rising into the air.

"I can't believe it! Dracovish is losing pace?!" Twilight was in shock. Dracovish should be keeping up here, but Arcanine was outdoing him as this clash continued.

"Dracovish may have been the apex predator in its time...but that won't stop us from outmatching its best traits!" Celestia grinned.

"Oh, yeah?" Ash grinned back, having something up his sleeve that came to mind right away. "In that case...let's make this whole place like Dracovish's home! Dracovish! Water Gun on the ground! Full Power!"

"Co...Dracovish!" Pulling its head back, Dracovish would then blast the ground with a powerful torrent of water, flooding the field and creating a large pool of water. The pool was massive, covering Ash, Pikachu, Celestia, Dracovish, Arcanine and the referee. It went high enough to be identical to a large swimming pool, but not enough to reach the seats thankfully.

The entire stadium was amazed, some of the humans and ponies taking pictures. This whole battle would receive pictures as it would go down in history.

The battlefield was now vastly different, a massive pool of water that went across the field. Arcanine looked surprised by this, looking down at the water and then looking up at Dracovish. "That's more like it! Get a load of this! We're battling underwater now!"

"So cool! He changed the battlefield just like that!" Spike's eyes were wide. The battle would continue but underwater, giving Dracovish homefield advantage. It would be just like the past when it was its true self.

"Goodness..." Celestia had a nervous smile. And Ash did not have a problem with changing the battlefield like this. Celestia used her magic to make sure everyone could breathe underwater. The battle between these two was already this intense. But that was to be expected.

One was a seasoned and experienced Trainer while the other appeared to be a natural prodigy, not just in magic. This battle against friends, though friendly, was no different from a battle between rivals and how wild theose can get. And from this point on, it was only going to amp up even further as the journey continues.
