Ash vs Drasna

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Kalos. Nightfall.

After an eventful training day, everyone had gone back to Kalos to relax. While everyone was at a Pokemon Center for the time being, Drasna was having one final battle before tomorrow. She was currently having a short battle with her fellow Elite 4 Member, Wikstrom.

Drasna's Altaria, the Humming Pokemon and Wikstrom's Aegislash, the Royal Sword Pokemon had been exchanging blow for blow. Altaria was a powerful Dragon Pokemon and was more than capable of fighting against the Aegislash. It was also Drasna's favorite Pokemon for its kind and caring nature.

Altaria let out a gentle song, one that was loud, yet calming and peaceful. This song would soothe those that listened to it, which was a part of their battle plan. Wikstrom was listening to the soothing song, smiling as the Pokemon sung to the Aegislash.

"Now, Aegislash. Use Sacred Sword." Wikstrom commanded. His Pokemon began to rush to the Dragon Type Pokemon, aiming to slash at it, but its movements slowed down thanks to the soothing sound. It tried its best to fight it and swing at Altaria, but it couldn't get a hit in. "What's the matter?!" He questioned his Pokemon.

"Al-taria." The Dragon-Flying Type continued singing its sweet song as the Aegislash kept coming to attack. Its movements kept getting slower and slower, the soothing song affecting its mind.

"This Melody...It's different from what I've heard from Altaria...!" Wikstrom gasped.

"Now's your chance! Heat Wave!" She shouted. Her Pokemon opened its beak once again, but this time, it would fire off a large flow of pure fire. The wave flew forward to the Pokemon and made direct contact with the Ghost-Steel type, causing a powerful explosion to erupt.

When the dust settled, the Aegislash was seen on the ground, no longer able to fight. Altaria won.

"Well, I'd say that was an excellent warm up for your battle against Ash tomorrow, Drasna." Wikstrom said to the Dragon Type Master as she returned her Pokemon to her Ultra Ball. "He is a rather fascinating individual. A bit odd and eccentric but a very talented young man."

"Oh, Yes, yes. I've heard plenty of things about him~. He's definitely got something special in him. He and his friends." Drasna agreed. "He's definitely a strange young man, but that's how the best of us are, no?"

Wikstrom would agree, chuckling at that notion. The two were in a large battlefield outside of the Castle of the Elite Four, where the four would have battles every now and then, especially with one another, and with special visitors as well. This time, Drasna had challenged her ally in order to train for her upcoming battle with Ash tomorrow, hoping to see how well she could do. Of course, there was also the matter of seeing what kind of person Ash truly was.

"Tomorrow will be so much fun." Drasna giggled lightly, looking forward to tomorrow.

As the Moon was high in the sky and Ash, Flurry Heart and Flash entry were taking the time to sleep, Harmony would be outside of the Pokemon Center on her lonesome, looking up at the Night Sky. Thoughts went through her mind, mainly about Ash. She got to speak with him for a while and see who he really is.

She thought that he was dangerous, but that was not the case. The only thing dangerous that he brings is towards him due to his wild training methods. The difference between him and Prisma were night and day.

The night sky had the Moon shining bright, giving Harmony the chance to gaze up at the sky. It reminded her of the nights when she was in Unilight, where the stars shone beautifully. The stars were also something that she saw as well. The same beautiful constellations she gazed upon before, only this time, in another universe.

"Even in another universe, the constellations are still the same...albeit bigger. I guess the stars shine a bit brighter in other places. Just look at them. They're as beautiful as the stars back at home..." She thought, a tear rolling down her cheek. She did miss her home dearly. And even though remnants of the lost universe were returning, there were still some things missing.

Aside from that, her judgement on Ash had diminished, but she still planned to keep an eye out for Prisma's potential return. Even if he doesn't seem to be dangerous, he is a target for that man, and the potential for a revival was still possible.

"I'm not going anywhere." She thought, knowing what was to be done. "Oh, Your Radiance...I'm not even sure if you know that Prisma is still around...But even so, this universe is still in tact."

She turned to see Ash, his body fast asleep and looking at ease. The expression on his face gave a warm feeling to her. He had a kind face and looked like someone she could trust.

"I'll be here to keep him safe." She nodded to herself. She didn't need to be ordered to protect him, but it's what she would've wanted to do, regardless. Her loyalty rang true for both sides but they all had one thing in mind. Stop Prisma's destruction.

She'd have to stay and protect the young trainer from harm's way, no matter who came after him. Even from himself if he ever undergoes another awakening. But she had no doubts that Ash would succumb to the pressure of Prisma. He had friends by his side. People that supported him.

And even though it wasn't a complete support, she would help as well.

She'd lay herself down and go to sleep. Tomorrow would be another day. Another battle for the Trainer.

And she'd have to make sure that Prisma never gets his hands on Ash.

Ash's battle with Drasna is here at last, and he is more than prepared. The battle would take place at the Lumiose City Stadium as the announcer spoke to everyone who showed up.

"This is a Pokemon World Championships Ultra Class Battle. Today's battle is between these two, both aiming to become the World's Greatest Pokemon Trainer." The screen would showcase both trainers and their current rankings. "Ranked 12th in the Ultra Class. Competitor Drasna of the Kalos Elite 4." On one side of the stadium would be Drasna herself. "Ranked 15th in the Ultra Class, Ash Ketchem of Pallet Town!" Ash stood at the other end of the Stadium.

"My, what a pleasure to finally meet you, Ash." Drasna said to him. "I've heard many things about you. Especially from Carlita."

"Hm? You know Carlita?"

"Pika?"

"Oh, yes. And many at Eindoak Town. You could say that I'm somewhat related to the People of the Vale. But I'm not one of the descendants, no. I'm simply a friend. Or even a relative to some. Who knows~" She smiled. "Carlita was the one who spoke to me the most. You made quite an impression on her a few times."

"Thanks. So if that's the case...this is one of the rare times I get to battle someone related to the People of the Vale." Ash grinned, tightening his gloves. "I only battled Carlita once but it was pretty short and ended weird. So this will be the real deal!"

"Hm-hm. I'm not just representing the People of the Vale, Ash. I'd say I'm also representing the Dragon Village. Let's make this battle an enjoyable one, alright? After all, Pokemon Battles are a form of play."

"They are? Ash and Pikachu blinked. That was a new saying, even to them.

"My, she seems sweet." Flurry Heart uttered when looking at Drasna's demeanour and the way she spoke.

"Don't let that sweet aura fool you. That's how she lowers your guard at first." Clemont knew better than to be deceived. He could see the hidden determination within the woman. He was sure that Ash saw it as well. He was not one to be fooled so easily.

"Either way, Ash will win! Go, Ash!" Bonnie and Dedenne cheered from their seats.

"Now then, the rules are a 2v2! When one side's two Pokemon are defeated, then that's the end. Both sides may substitute their Pokemon at any point." The Rotom Drone spoke. "Now, both sides send out your first Pokemon, please. 3...2...1...Go!"

"Sirfetch'd! I choose you!"

"Sirfetch'd!"

"Noivern, I'm counting on you!" Drasna smiled. Sirfetch'd stood in his place as the Sound Wave Pokemon flew in the air.

"Noivern!"

"Both sides are ready, and we're good to go! Let the battle begin!" Rotom announced the start of the battle. The two trainers glared at each other. Both had been anticipating this match. Drasna was a very strong trainer, but so was Ash.

"Use Super Fang!" Drasna started it off.

"Vern!" Noivern's fangs lit up as it took flight, approaching Sirfetch'd right away.

"Brutal Swing!"

"Sir...!" Sirfetch'd's leek lit up with a red glow as he too approached the Dragon-Flying-Type, the two Pokemon closing in on each other. "Fetch'd!" Thinking smart, Sirfetch'd used his shield, placing it in front of him and having Noivern bite into it, leaving its body vulnerable. Then, he'd hit it with the Brutal Swing attack, causing Noivern to be sent flying. The shield did take some damage though, but Sirfetch'd would be able to handle it.

"Oh, very impressive. Noivern! Boombust!"

"Noi...VERN!" As both its ears lit up, Noivern released a powerful sound wave that rippled across the air and hit Sirfetch'd directly. Sirfetch'd stood his ground in the face of this powerful soundwave as it would reach Ash and Pikachu. Not just them, but everyone else in the crowd. This Boomburst was very strong, causing a great deal of pain in the ears of the Pokemon and Humans. Clemont, Bonnie and the others covered their ears while this happened. They couldn't believe how strong that attack was.

Flash Sentry covered Flurry Heart's ears while using his wings to cover his own, being more durable than normal ears and blocking out the sound.

"Hang in there, Sirfetch'd!"

"Fet...Fetch'd...!" The Wild Duck Pokemon tried its best, holding onto his shield as the Boomburst attack kept hitting it. But the more it went, the more Sirfetch'd would hold on.

Drasna was impressed by his tenacity, smiling as this went on. The force of the sound was so great that the stadium floor was cracking and breaking apart, even with the protective layer on top. Sirfetch'd was launched up by the floor shattering and the debris rising aggressively, causing him to flinch. He was losing his stance and composure, one of the debris even hitting him.

With that his Leek Shield would fly out of his grasp, landing elsewhere on the arena floor, far away from him. Drasna smiled, ready to get another attack. "No more guarding~" Drasna playfully said.

"Kh!" Ash grit his teeth. "Quick, Sirfetch'd! Reach for your shield!"

"I think not. Dragon Pulse!" Drasna called.

"Sirfetch'd!" The Wild Duck Pokemon jumped to grab his shield back. Noivern quickly opened its mouth and began forming a Dragon-Type move. Its wings spread and a green ball formed inside the Sound Wave Pokemon's mouth, launching a powerful beam that soon transformed into a dragon-shaped beam. The beam flew forward as Sirfetch'd ran over to it. It chased him down, easily reaching in seconds. He would jump in time and reach his sword, but the attack hit him before he could grab it.

An explosion occurred, Sirfetch'd being knocked back once more. Not just that, but now his sword would be launched elsewhere in the stadium. The blast caused dust and smoke to fly in the air. When it all cleared up, Sirfetch'd had gotten his feet back up and grabbed his sword, but the attack still did its damage. His body was seen glowing, and Drasna smiled at this.

"Boomburst~"

"VERN!" Not letting up, Drasna and her Noivern would use another Boomburst. This attack would reach Ash's Sirfetch'd, sending another powerful wave in the battlefield.

"F-Fetch'd!" Sirfetch'd found himself being pressed down by the soundwaves, the floor rippling and shattering once more while Drasna simply smiled. She was really putting the pressure on Ash this early, bringing overwhelming force to the battle and stripping Sirfetch'd of his sword and shield. Soon, a good chunk of the floor would break apart and open up as Sirfetch'd started falling, but that's when Ash saw a golden moment.

"Now's your chance, Sirfetch'd! Leap off the debris and grab your sword and shield!"

"Sir...!" His body began glowing in the white aura. He'd quickly kick the ground, rapidly jumping from debris to debris while Drasna watched him do this, stunned. With success, Sirfetch'd managed to retrieve his sword and shield, much to the amazement of the crowd.

"He got his shield back despite all of that!" Clemont's eyes widened in amazement, a smile growing on his face as he watched Sirfetch'd do this. Flurry Heart and Bonnie raised their hooves and arms in response to this impressive display, cheering for their friend.

"Nnnmm..." Drasna, despite keeping up that sweet smile, was actually irritated by that display. She was sure that she'd be able to remove those two items, and yet, Sirfetch'd managed to retrieve them and get out of the way of that attack. "My, Carlita was right. You are tenacious, stubborn and persistent. All three are true." Her smile faded for a moment. "But it'll take more than just will to beat me and my Noivern."

"Hehe. Carlita didn't tell you everything." Ash grinned, adjusting his hat and looking to Sirfetch'd.

"Clearly." Drasna agreed while having a slight eye twitch.

"Oh! Such excellent defence!" Wikstrom loved this. Having helped Sirfetch'd reach this point as well, seeing him get this far was an honour to him. Malva on the other hand just sat back and watched with a grin. "So, what's your plan now? I wonder." He said.

"Dragon Pulse!"

"Noi...!" Noivern gan building up a Dragon Pulse and this was where Ash was finally about to unleash Sirfetch'd's new move at last.

"Here we go! Sirfetch'd, use Meteor Assault!"

"Sir...!" A golden aura flared around him and his leek. With a strong build-up, he leapt off the ground approaching at high speeds. By doing this, he became a golden stream, ascending through the air.

"!" Drasna gasped at this sight, acting fast. "Block it!"

"Vern!" Holding back the Dragon Pulse for a little bit, in a split-second, Noivern put its wings together, managing to stop Sirfetch'd with one strong wing. The Pokemon glowed and was slowly pushed back by Sirfetch'd, being forced to let out a Dragon Pulse. The attack roared out, engulfing Sirfetch'd and emitting an explosion.

"Sirfetch'd!" Ash cried out.

"Sir...!" The Wild Duck Pokemon would tumble on the ground, falling on his back. But he wasn't out yet. The Fighting-Type would groan, getting back up, but with some visible stutters and staggers. Sirfetch'd was still in this.

"My. Stubborn was an understatement. Quite robust, aren't you?" Drasna uttered.

Don't push yourself, Come back for now." Ash decided to return Sirfetch'd to his Poke Ball. "Great work, buddy." He'd praise, getting ready for the next Pokemon.

"All that pressure had me nervous!" Flurry Heart sighed, astonished by Drasna's aggressiveness. Despite her kind nature, she stayed true to the Dragon Nature.

"Same here...But I'm not sure how long this can last..." Clemont gulped, sweating nervously. "If he hadn't brought Sirfetch'd back, it would've been over. Meteor Assault needs the user to recharge after use."

"Sirfetch'd dealt some damage, so it's up to you to make it all count. Dracovish, you're up! Come on out!" The Pokemon was launched out, hitting the battlefield.

"Draco! Dracovish!" Ash's Water-Dragon-Type Pokemon stood at the ready, his trainer looking at it.

"We're going up against Noivern. Think you can take it?" The Dragon-Type gave him a strong nod. He was ready to battle.

"Pika!" Pikachu cheered, wishing the two good luck.

"Ah, I've been waiting to meet with Dracovish. And quite eager to battle it." Drasna chuckled. "Noivern, Super Fang!"

"Noi...!" Drasna's Pokemon dove in, aiming to hit the Water-Dragon Type with a Super Fang.

"Here it comes! Ice Fang!"

"Draco...!" But Dracovish had its own fang for its fellow Dragon-Type. A chilling aura enveloped its mouth, forming an ice cold bite as Dracovish rushed forward. The two Pokemon collided in the middle of the stadium, Noivern biting into the Dracovish while Dracovish did the same, the sheer collision of the energy coming from the fangs clashing.

The clash let out a violent energy as the two of them were pushed back, but it was clear who took more damage. Dracovish's fang was too much to handle. It was stronger than Noivern, even in that close clash. The Noivern was almost frozen by the bite, taking super-effective damage. Drasna promptly noticed this and made a quick switch.

"Return, for now, Noivern."

"Noi..." Noivern was called back. Drasna was ready for her next Pokemon, her ace, in fact. "Now it's time to see how much it can handle. Altaria, show yourself!"

She released her signature Pokemon. The Humming Pokemon, Altaria.

"Altaria!"

"Alright. Let's see how this goes." Ash nodded to himself, knowing that he had the advantage here. But Drasna wasn't so easily deterred, as seen before. "For this one, I'm gonna imagine that I'm battling Rainbow Dash's Altaria...She's not the same as Drasna's but..."

"Draco!"

"Tari. Tari." While standing there, waiting for Drasna to say something, Altaria began humming a little melody, slowly swaying her head from left to right. By doing so, the two long blue plumes on her head would also sway. The way they moved had Dracovish staring blankly at them, its eyes fixated.

Each time it swayed, something was clicking within Dracovish. Just like how the sight of Sirfetch'dsleekwobbling had it react, so did this. And with no hesitation, The Fossil Pokemon charged in with joy.

"Dracoooo!"

"Eh!? Dracovish?!" Ash was surprised by its sudden charge in. Ashhasn't even said anything yet to prompt an attack.Dracoish just did it on impulse.

"It's just charging in like that?! Why?!" Flash questioned.

"It reacted similarly to when Sirfetch'd's sword was shaking. I guess Dracovish is drawn to things that sway back and forth." Clemont guessed.

"That is so cute!" Bonnie giggled.

"Then let's use that to our advantage! Go in, Dracovish!" Ash would roll with it, encouraging Dracovish to charge right in. "Ice Fang!"

"Viiiish!" While running, that same chilling aura would return, ready to gnaw on the Dragon-Flying-Type.

"No, no, sweetie~ Cotton Guard!"

"Tari! Alta!" With no delay, Altaria would expand her soft wings, utilizing them as a barrier to shield her from the attack. The Cotton Guard protected her from Dracovish and stopped the Pokemon in its tracks, the Cotton Barrier acting like a soft cushion for it to rest its face against.

"Dra?!" Dracovish would instead bump into something soft, having its body bounced back as a small portion of Altaria's wings were frozen. Nothing major at all. And as a bonus, Altaria's defense had been boosted.

"Aren't her plumes just lovely?" Drasna said with glee. "They can also be used to avoid heavy damage~.

"Yeah, they can. But I know how to fight against it!" Ash grinned, his right eye glinting with a spark of sunshine that beamed down near him. Drasna was startled by that, her eyes slightly opening up. She hadn't seen that in a while.

"That fire in his eyes..." Harmony watched closely as by observing Ash battle, she noticed similar patterns to Prisma. When looking at his eyes, there was the faintest glimmer of gold within them. It was as if she was watching Prisma battle all over again. It was uncanny.

"So you say. Then perhaps I shouldn't overlook what you're capable of. How's this?" By holding her arm out, Drasna revealed something that was latched with her Dragon Tooth Bracelet. A Mega Stone.

"Hm!" Ash narrowed his eyes, being at the ready as he knew what was coming next.

"Power of Dragons! Awaken!" Drasna called out, a beam of red energy flying out. The beam struck the Humming Pokemon, which reacted with the Mega Stone and made Altaria glow with that same light. "Mega Evolve!" Her entire body would transform, becoming slightly bigger as feathers strengthened. A powerful burst of Draconic and Mega Energy would erupt, surrounding her in a dazzling light. Once the glow faded, Altaria was replaced with her Mega Form. Mega Altaria.

"Altar!" Mega Altaria screeched, spreading her wings and flying forward. "Taria!"

"Ah!" Flurry Heart watched in amazement. She'd never seen such a beautiful Pokemon in her entire life! The sight was incredible. "So pretty!" She and Bonnie said in unison.

"Look at her enjoying herself." Wikstrom said while watching Drasna. "She doesn't usually battle with the intent of crushing her opponents. This battle with Ash seems like it'll be a good time."

"Now, here we go~!" Sky Attack!"

"Altaaaa!" A brilliant golden energy flared to light, enveloping all of Mega Altaria as her wings spread out. The energy was immense, even making Dracovish feel like its body was shaking. It had never experienced anything like this. Not from this battle or from its life.

"Okay, Dracovish! Use Fishious Rend!"

"Covish!" Dracovish advanced, its lower jaw glowing blue as it went in for a staggering bite. However, with great speed, Altaria ascended, evading Dracovish. "Dra!"

"Tari!" After avoiding Dracovish, Altaria came right back, flying at full speed and full force. Ash could tell that she was about to hit his Pokemon. She'd use Sky Attack!

"Here she comes! Grab her!"

"Draco!" Dracovish faced Altaria was she approached. It had to wait until she got close.

"Tariaaa!" The energy surrounding Altaria burned brighter, its wings spread wide and it was ready to strike.

"Now, Dracovish! Bite her!"

"Vish!" Just as it seemed that she'd get in a direct hit, Dracovish leaned in, avoiding the Sky Attack and grabbing a hold of one of her wings.

"Altaria!"

"Draaaaaa!" And then Dracovish used its lower body and went to town on the wing, thrashing it around like a fish in the air. Mega Altaria was being swung around, her body being tossed left and right.

"Oh, dear! It caught my sweet Altaria?!" Drasna was aghast by this while Ash grinned. He's trained with Rainbow Dash a lot, being her mentor and all. By taking on her Altaria multiple times as well as other of her Pokemon, he's managed to find patterns in how each Altaria battles, no matter how different they may be. Being able to predict their movements was key.

"But that's not all...Those plumes are the real problem, so here's this! Water Gun!"

"Draco...Vish!" While holding onto Altaria, Dracovish unleashed a strong stream of water that completely enveloped the Humming Pokemon. Altaria's body was completely covered and her plumes would get wet as she was spat out by the Fossil Pokemon.

"No, my sweetie's feathers!" Drasna cried as her partner was soaked. "All those beautiful plumes are now soggy!"

"Great thinking, Ash!" Clemont stood up, his fist pumped up. "Not only does that greatly cripple her defence by making them wet, but by extension, Altaria might not be able to fly properly with them! Or even fly at all!"

"Oh, yeah! I get it!" Bonnie realized, smiling along with the rest of the crowd. Drasna on the other hand was quite peeved. Altaria was completely drenched and her beautiful feathers had become damped and soggy.

"Amazing!" Getting into this was Harmony. She was finally starting to enjoy this battle instead of just thinking about Prisma. Now, she was cheering and rooting for Ash to win. "Go, Ash!"

"You have quite the nerve!" Drasna's eyes opened. She was visibly angered by this, which was a rare sight to behold. But not to be taken lightly.

Drasna's personality began to shift. Gone was that kind and gentle persona. In its place, a serious and more aggressive individual. One who wanted to win, not play. Ash had finally brought out her competitive side.

"Breakthrough! Break through the entire field! Use Breaking Swipe!""

"ALTARIA!"

Altaria's wings were suddenly engulfed with a blazing red energy, her body flying straight up despite the state she was in. Her wings expanded, and with a flap, the air would suddenly erupt, shaking and pushing back everyone in the stadium. Dracovish was stunned, its body suddenly being hit by a rush of wind as the field shattered, debris rising and the air violently whipping around.

"Dra-?!" Dracovish's voice couldn't reach them.

"Pikapi!" Pikachu called, seeing the air shake violently.

"Dracovish!"

"Return for now, Dracovish!" Ash quickly returned Dracovish to his Poke Ball as Altaria had taken flight once more, managing to restore her wings. However, it was clear that Dracovish's attack did diminish her defence, a bit of her wings still wet. "It's all up to you, Sirfetch'd!"

"Sirfetch'd!" Returning to the field was Sirfetch'd, his Leek Blade and Shield at the ready. Ash had to make sure that his next plan would succeed. "Okay, let's try that move again. But first, we have to do one thing." He said, looking at Mega Altaria.

"My, my, you really are stubborn, aren't you, Ash?" Drasna smiled, her eyes closed once more. The field was now a wasteland, having been broken and destroyed. The protective layer had been shattered, and now it was an open arena. "But that won't stop us, right, sweetie~ Use-"

Before she could say anything, to everyone's surprise, Dracovish forced himself back out of his Poke Ball, appearing next to Sirfetch'd. They all gasped in response.

"Dracovish!?"

"Pika?!" Pikachu gasped.

"What's this?! Dracovish is out all of a sudden?!" The announcer shouted.

"Vish! Draco!" The reason for this was simple. Dracovish wished to watch Sirfetch'd in his element, wanting to see how he would go about it and fight Drasna's Pokemon. So it came out, wanting to see Sirfetch'd. This surprised the Wild Duck Pokemon, who didn't know how to react. In response, he just gave Dracovish a smile, getting ready for the next move.

"Ah, Alright then, you're gonna watch?" Ash grinned, looking at Dracovish and Sirfetch'd. He was still in a position to win. He was in the same situation he had been before. "If that's the case...Drasna, you better get ready. Here comes a sure-fire hit!"

"Oh, I'm already aware." Her voice had a cold chill. Drasna was taking Ash a lot more seriously now. He was on her mind now. "Sky Attack!"

"Alright! Do it! Meteor Assault!"

"Siretch'd!" Sirfetch'd would jump, his leek sword glowing brightly. It wasn't a normal jump. He was being surrounded by the same golden aura from before, his entire body radiating with power.

"Alta!" Altaria was the same. The energy from her body grew brighter as she took off. Her wings were ready to unleash the full power of her attack. Both Pokemon were now aiming at each other. Their attacks would collide. A Meteor Assault versus Sky Attack!

The Humming Pokemon roared out and went straight for Sirfetch'd, her body like a comet. Sirfetch'd would do the same and the two would approach one another, their bodies shining with intense light. Soon enough, both of their attacks clashed, their bodies colliding. In the collision, Sirfetch'd's Meteor Assault would pierce through, striking the Mega Pokemon. At the same time, Sirfetch'd would feel the force of Sky Attack, his body breaking apart the attack but still getting damaged. An explosion rang out and a shockwave echoed across the battlefield, causing a large smoke and debris cloud to appear, both Pokemon being hidden away.

The two landed. But it was Sirfetch'd who was still standing, landing perfectly. As for Altaria, she was not so lucky. She fell from the skies, crashing onto the battlefield and reverting to her normal state. Altaria was no longer able to battle.

"Altaria..."

"Altaria is unable to battle! Sirfetch'd wins!"

"How is this possible!" A flabbergasted Drasna said. She couldn't believe that Altaria lost

"All that stamina Dracovih chipped away helped Sirfetch'd in the end." Clemont was stunned.

"He was already powerful before, but now? With Meteor Assault?" Wikstrom grinned.

"It's unbelievable!" Harmony said in excitement. "I can feel it. That strength! I wonder how strong his other Pokemon are?" She'd love to see how strong they are as well, and how far Ash can push them. The battle between Prisma and him had come to a conclusion.

"Yes! You did it, Sirfetch'd!"

"Sirfetch'd!" Sirfetch'd turned to his trainer, a smile on his face. The Pokemon was relieved that he was able to pull through for Ash, knowing how hard this was. However, it was soon revealed that he burnt through all of his energy in that final attack. Thus, he too would suddenly faint.

"Ah, and Sirfetch'd is out of stamina as well!" The announcer called. "Both Pokemon are down for the count!"

"Awww! Poor Sirfetch'd!" Flurry Heart frowned. She knew he tried so hard. He really wanted to win. But the effort he put was so much that it exhausted him. That last blow took all that he had left. At least the win counted to Sirfetch'd since Altaria fainted first.

"Such vigor!" Wikstrom teared up, truly proud of Sirfetch'd. " He kept standing up back up for the sake of his Trainer!"

"Altaria. You did a splendid job, sweetie~ Take a good rest." Drasna said, returning Altaria to her Poke Ball and getting ready for her last one. Her smile was gone, now having a stern and serious gaze. "Now it's time to finish this."

"I'm ready!" Ash was grinning.

It would be down to just Dracovish and Noivern as Drasna brought the Dragon-Flying-Type out.

"You're quite remarkable to push me this far..." Drasna twitched. "But that ends now!"

"Yeah! We're gonna win!" Ash confidently said with a grin. "Come on, Dracovish!"

"Draco!"

"Dragon Pulse!" Drasna aggresively shouted.

"Noi!"

"Noivern! Vern! Vern! Vern!" Noivern would build a large green ball within its mouth, aiming to fire it out.

"Dragon Rush!"

"Dracovish!" Responding to the opposing attack, Dracovish enveloped itself within a draconic blue aura, taking flight and charging at Noivern.

"Noi...!" Noivern would then unleash its attack, the Dragon Pulse blasting off and heading straight towards the Fossil Pokemon.

"Draco...Vish!" The Pokemon flew through it, the attack barely even slowing Dracovish down. The impact of the two attacks colliding would cause an explosion, many debris flying up.

"!?" Drasna jerked back. "Ascend, Noivern!"

"Vern!" Swiftly, Noivern would fly up, avoiding the blast as the Dracovish flew through it, ascending as well.

"Dragon Pulse, once more!"

"Noi!"

"Vern!" Noivern would once more charge a Dragon Pulse, aiming at Dracovish. Its wings were spread wide, flapping once and twice. The attack would launch out once more, hitting the Water-Dragon-Type with direct force, exploding on impact. However, even with the blast, Dracovish was not deterred. It continued to go through, breaking through the blast. Once it did, its eyes widened as the Dragon Pulse caused damage.

The Pokemon's draconic aura dissipated, the attack being broken by Dragon Pulse. However, despite the damage, it was not done. Dracovish would let out a ferocious roar and leap forward. It lunged and dove at Noivern with a Fishious Rend, biting at it and pushing it to the ground. Dracovish was now in the middle of a fall, holding onto the Sound Wave Pokemon and forcing it to crash to the ground.

"Push it off! Boomburst!"

"NOIVERN!" From its large ears, the Pokemon unleashed a violent and deafening blast of sound. The sheer noise forced Dracovish back, its entire body pushed back and thrown into the ground with great force.

"Dracovish!"

"Pika, Pikapi!"

"V-Vish...!" Dracovish growled, feeling all that sound press down on its body. Some of the debris would even hit it, attempting to put Dracovish down. But Dracovish refused to go down, it's eyes glowing.

"It's withstanding that?!" Drasna just couldn't believe her eyes.

"Let's finish this! Dragon Rush!"

"VISH!"

"Push back with Dragon Pulse!"

"Noviern!"

Both Dragon-Types released their all into these attacks. As a dragon-shaped beam flew out aggressively, Dracovish ran in at full speed with its dragon aura. Dragon Rsh's aura even manifested a Dragon-shape of its own as the two Dragon Energies soared into the air, crashing into each other.

A truly outstanding outburst of Infinity Energy went off, shaking the air and causing everyone in the arena to be shaken up by the blast. The air itself would shake and the debris would soar high. The energies would keep colliding as they roared, both Dragon Types trying to out-do the other.

With the voices of their trainers motivating them, they roared louder than they ever have before. The two dragon energies grew brighter and more intense, shaking even the crowd around them. The sky above seemed to shatter with power, the ground around them shaking and their friends feeling this energy wash over them.

Finally, the power of the two attacks exploded, creating a shockwave of draconic energy that spread through the air, the two Dragons being engulfed by it.

As for how it turned out, once the smoke cleared, the outcome was decided. Noivern had fainted while Dracovish was still standing.

"Noivern..."

"Noivern is unable to battle! Dracovish Wins! Thus, the winner of this Ultra Class Battle is Ash!"

"Yesssss! Way to go, Dracovish!" Ash exclaimed, jumping up. Dracovish would run up to him, tackling and embracing him, Ash being caught and being knocked down by it, the two of them laughing as Pikachu ran to them.

"Pika!"

"Vish!" Dracovish would be hugged, the trio celebrating with absolute glee. Sirfetch'd even emerged from his Poke Ball to join in on of this celebration

"Sir."

"Oh, you're just full of surprises, aren't you?~" Drasna chuckled. The woman had her eyes closed again and she had her usual smile. walking over to Noivern.

"Amazing, what a spectacular battle!" Flurry Heart shouted, her voice being drowned by the audience who were shouting the same. "It was so worth staying here for the day!"

"Based on the results, the Pokemon World Championships rankings will be updated." The Rotom Drone said, promptly showing where Ash was placed now. He had jumped up once more. From 15th all the way to the 9th. One ranking away from the Master's 8 itself."

"He's Ranked 9th!" Clemont cheered.

"He'll make it to Masters-8!" Wikstrom cheered.

"Yea!" Ash threw his fists into the air, celebrating his victory. "Oh, yeah!"

"Draco!" "Sir!"

"Pika!"

The four of them were ecstatic. Fluffy Heart and the other's were cheering as well.

"Woo!" Flurry Heart shouted as loud as she could, despite the roaring cheers. Bonnie was jumping along with her, Wikstrom and Clemont were cheering on the stands and everyone in the stands were giving Ash the loudest cheers. Harmony was cheering on as well, clapping for the Trainer.

Ash had truly impressed her.

"You've grown stronger." Wikstrom smiled as he held Ash's shoulder. The young man was still smiling from that battle and so were his Pokemon. Dracovish and Sirfetch'd had grown strong in the eyes of the veteran. "A job well done, my boy."

Well done, Ash. Congratulations on climbing all the way up to 9th Place." Drasna congratulated. "Perhaps my most enjoyable battle ever. Carlita really was right about you. " Her voice turned to one that was cold. "If we battle again, I'll defeat you~."

"Thanks. I look forward to that!" Ash nodded. "That was a lot of fun!"

"Pika! Pikachu! Pi!" Pikachu added on.

"Now that you're Ranked 9th, you're fully eligible to try and enter the Master's 8. For that, you'll have to beat the 8th Ranked Trainer in the World Championships, taking that position for yourself." Wikstrom explained.

"And who is Ranked 8th, by the way?"

"Raihan." Drasna responded, smiling with her eyes closed. "Raihan is currently the 8th Ranked, though he is a member of the Master's 8. He is an expert in Dragon Types such as myself and is a formidable Trainer."

"So it's him..." Ash said. Now, he knew who was up next. All that stood in his way to the Master's 8 was Raihan. Soon, he will be able to challenge the best of the best. 8 Powerful Trainers that stand at the top of the world. The Upper Echelon of Pokemon Trainers await.

As the journey continues.
