My Little Pokémon: Grander World
A Fearful Heart
Previous ChapterNext ChapterKalos. The Azoth Kingdom. Afternoon.
After succeeding in creating Flurry Heart's own Magearna, the Artificial Pokemon had a sudden reaction. A reaction to Ash that is. Upon seeing him, she sensed a destructive emotion deep within him. Not from Ash directly, but Prisma. Thus, out of pure fear, she jumped out of the window, fearing for her life.
"Hey! Come back!" She called out.
"I-It's not supposed to be doing that!" Kimia gasped in alarm, surprised by her actions. "Why did it just run off?!"
"I-I don't know. Maybe there's something wrong with it...?" Clemont suggested, unsure himself. Flurry Heart would immediately fly out of the broken window, pursuing the pokemon that had escaped. They watched her go, leaving them all wondering what was going on.
"What's happening?" Kimia demanded. "It shouldn't be doing this."
Meanwhile, Flurry was flying at a fast pace, trying desperately to catch up. Magearna had somehow managed to get quite some distance away. She was now running through the streets of Azoth Kingdom, heading directly toward the outskirts of city.
"H-Hold on!" She cried out, hoping that Magearna could hear her. However, her calls fell upon deaf ears, as Magearna continued to move at a steady pace, ignoring Flurry's pleas. She had only one target in mind, and she would chase that target to the ends of the Earth. As Flurry tried to keep up, Magearna sped up even further, moving at a greater speed. Flurry was having difficulty keeping pace. She was already tired from her long journey through the city. Now she had to chase a robot that was going faster than ever before.
The people of the city witnessed the commotion as Magearna ran past them. They had never seen such a sight. A Magearna running without any means of propulsion? Not only that, but of a colour they've never seen before. Some of them thought they were dreaming. Others were simply confused as to what they were seeing. Most however were intrigued. What kind of technology did this robot possess to allow it to run so fast?
"Wait! Where are you going?! Stop! I'm your friend!" She yelled. But no matter what she did, her voice was unheard. No matter how much she shouted, no matter how much she pleaded, her words were ignored. There seemed to be no stopping her. The robot was determined to reach its destination, wherever that may be. Flurry Heart could do nothing but follow her, hoping that she might eventually slow down.
Flurry Heart is faster than her obviously, being an alicorn. Magearna also wasn't known to be a speedy Pokemon all, thanks to all that metal. So eventually, she would catch up, not even using the best of her speed. At least, that should be the case. However, that's when something shocking happened.
Magearna's eyes would suddenly glow, and then her body began vibrating. Her Soul Heart glowed a bright pink. Without warning, her body would then disperse into several pieces, immediately accelerating through the air. By dispersing, she became lighter, thus making her quicker. She was flying through the air at incredible speeds. Flurry Heart was amazed. She had no idea that Magearna had such abilities. She was truly a marvel of engineering. And she had the power to become a powerful force of nature, capable of amazing feats. But what could be going through her head for her to do something like this?
"The Dispersing Spell?! How?!" She asked herself, surprised by her sudden change in behaviour. That spell she used was something Flurry Heart easily knew. But that was all thanks to her stealing books from Empress Twilight, learning a few spells in the process. And now, this Magearna was using it.
The others were watching the two from the castle. They had managed to catch up with the two, only to see Magearna disperse, making her faster. She was out of control, clearly. Whatever was driving Magearna right now, whatever her purpose was, it was related to Prisma. And she was heading out of the city.
Flurry Heart was in disbelief, slowing down and ceasing her flight. She couldn't believe that her Magearna was capable of such feats. She didn't know what else to say or think.
"Magearna...?" She watched as the pieces flew away, leaving her alone in the city streets. She felt lost and confused. She was left wondering where her friend was headed and why. "W-What's gotten into her...?"
After Magearna up and left, Ash and the others caught up with Flurry Heart, speaking to her about what had just transpired. Unexpectedly, she reacted in a fearful way, running for her life. She was so peaceful earlier, but now she was absolutely terrified. She ran off into the distance without any explanation as to why.
"What came over her?" Kimia asked. "She was perfectly fine until a few minutes ago. Did something happen to her?"
"Ooohhh! Did I mess up something in the blueprints?!" Clemont held his head, fearing that it was his fault. He could've made a mistake, causing her to act this way. It would explain why she ran off.
"I don't think so..." Ash looked at the direction she left in, thinking to himself. "She probably noticed something that caused her to run away."
"What would make her act like that though?"
Kimia's question made everyone pause. There was nothing that could've caused such a reaction from Magearna. She was perfectly calm when they created her. And yet she suddenly started running away from them. Why did she act that way? What was the cause of her sudden fear? They had no answers.
Raleigh thought back, trying to figure out when it happened. He thought back to when Magearna was observing her surroundings, looking at everyone in the room. The last person she looked at was Ash. "I think she reacted to Ash..."
"Wait, what? How?" Flurry Heart asked.
"We were all in a positive state of mind, right? But that changed when she looked at you. I'm not sure if something's going on with you, Ash. But she didn't react until she saw you."
"Me?" He blinked. "What's wrong with me? Is it my clothes?"
"Pika?"
"I doubt that's it." Raleigh chuckled. "I'm thinking it has something to do with that Prisma soul of yours. She's probably sensing it and is going after that soul."
"Prisma's soul?! That's right! She did say that she could read memories, thoughts, and feelings. She must've picked up on the fragment of Prisma's soul inside of Ash." Flurry Heart realized.
"That would make sense." Clemont nodded. "But why would Magearna go after Prisma like that? What does she have against Prisma?"
"Nothing. But Magearna can read emotions...So that means, during the process of making the Soul Heart, something must've slipped into her as well." Harmony deduced. "Something like...the negative feelings of Prisma herself. That has to be it!"
"And Magearna sensed them..." Flurry Heart finished for her. "Aw..."
"Well, that's something we can fix. We just have to explain it to her, don't we?" Bonnie asked. "If we tell her, then she won't be terrified, right?"
"Hopefully. Now to just track her down." Kimia pondered for a moment, looking over at Harmony. "Harmony. Could you maybe use a spell that'll help?"
"I can. Plus, I feel like it's partially my fault. That spell of mine might've incidentally added Prisma without me knowing." Harmony scratched her name, sighing to herself. But she didn't have time to lament on it. She opened her eyes, utilizing her amazing magic, casting a spell that tracked Magearna. In an instant, she found her location. "She's currently heading west from here. But it also looks like she's slowing down. So she must believe she's at a safe distance."
"Alright then. We'll reach her. All of you, move out at once." Kimia ordered. "But Ash. It's probably best that you stay here. If you're anywhere near her, it might set her off again." She suggested. "Sorry. But you're probably better off back at the castle. We'll be back before you know it." She reassured him.
"Aw, man..."
"Pika." Pikachu agreed, patting Ash on the head. He knew how important this mission was, and he didn't want Magearna to be scared away again. In Ash's place, Pikachu ould go wth everyone else.
Flurry Heart's Magearna came to a halt, stopping by a waterfall as the pieces of her body floated in the air. She had escaped from the castle and was now in a more secluded area. Her body parts began to move, gathering together as she reformed back to her original form. Her eyes were still glowing, but her panic had calmed down. She was no longer running anymore. Instead, she was standing still.
"Gear..." She sighed. "Magear..."
She looked at her surroundings, scanning the environment. As she did, she noticed something strange. There were many plants around, but some of them were different from the others. These weren't just plants. These were actually Pokémon.
"G-Gear..." She stepped back. "M-Magearna?" She was unsure what to make of this situation. What exactly were these Pokémon? What were they? What did they want from her?
"Gloom..." The Pokemon replied. It was a Gloom. The flower on its head had a sweet smell to it, a very pleasant scent. The Gloom approached her slowly, moving cautiously. Its body was covered in green petals, and its face resembled a flower itself. Its eyes were large, round, and black.
"Magearna? Gear?!" She asked nervously. She was worried about the Gloom, unsure what to think of the plant-like creature. It didn't seem like a bad thing. In fact, the Gloom was rather friendly. It walked closer to her, and she saw that there were several others nearby. They all looked at her curiously. They were interested in her, wanting to get a better look at her. She didn't know whether or not to trust these creatures. After all, she was just recently born into this world.
However, she had to calm herself down. She wasn't going to let her fear get the best of her. Not when she needed to be strong. She had to do her best to keep herself together.
"Gear..." She sighed, feeling a bit more relaxed now that she wasn't running anymore. She was safe from the evil soul she sensed. The evil soul of Prisma. "Magearna..."
She looked around once more, examining the environment around her. This was a peaceful place. A place where she could rest for a little while before continuing on her journey. She was tired after the long run. And she could relax here for a little while.
Other Pokemon were present here. A couple of Oddish, a Vileplume, and even a Bellossom. They all looked harmless enough. They didn't seem like bad Pokemon at all.
"Magear..." She sighed once more, feeling much better already. She was no longer frightened. Instead, she was calm. She was going to stay here for a little while. Maybe even sleep.
However, something forced her to wake up. The sound of footsteps. Heavy footsteps. Someone was approaching.
"Magearna?" She turned around. "Who is it?" She asked, worried. Who was coming towards her? Were they friendly? Or were they dangerous?
Based on how calm the Pokemon were, they didn't seem hostile. So she wasn't going to worry too much. Soon, a giant figure came out from behind a large rock. The one who was a guardian of this beautiful place.
Volcanion.
"What's this now?" Volcanion spoke once showing up. Upon arriving here, he spotted a familiar face and instantly jumped to a good friend of his. "Hm? Magearna? You're here?"
To Volcanion, he thought he saw the Volcanion of the Azoth Kingdom, Raleigh's Magearna. So he approached, ready to greet her. But then he saw the colours. This Magearna was not the same. She had different colours than Kimia's Magearna. Something was off about this Magearna.
"Wait...You're not her." Volcanion uttered, realizing this wasn't here. "Another Magerana? Here? You must be new." He said. "I don't believe we've met before. What brings you to this place?"
"Magearna! Gear!" Magearna spoke in alarm. She was startled by Volcanion's sudden arrival. She didn't know what to do. Should she fight him? Or should she flee? She didn't know what to do.
Volcanion could see the fear in Magearna's eyes, and he understood why she'd be so afraid. After all, he was quite large compared to most Pokemon. Not to mention his intimidating appearance. However, he wasn't going to harm Magearna. He had no reason to attack her. He simply wanted to make sure she was okay.
"Tch. Rather jumpy compared to the Magearna I know." Volcanion spoke. "Calm down already, I'm not going to hurt you." He assured her.
"Gear...?" She looked at him curiously. "Magearna?"
"Like I said, calm down." Volcanion repeated. "I'm here to help you. Now tell me, why did you come here?"
Magearna looked around nervously. She wasn't sure if she should trust this Legendary Pokemon. He seemed nice enough. But he could be lying. She decided to answer anyway. She was still shaken up from running from the soul of a madman. But, she spoke regardless since she was about friendly territory, spilling what she knew so far. "Gear..."
"Hah...So you've been recently built by the Prince and the others. That explains why I'm just now seeing you. I didn't think I'd ever see another Magearna in my life. The more things change."
"Gear. Magearna."
"Clemont?" Volcanion recognized that name as Magearna revealed that Clemont was the one who built her. And by hearing that, he already knew who else was here, a smile forming on his face. "So...Ash and Pikachu are here too, aren't they?"
"Gear! Magearna!" She nodded. But she went into further detail as to why she showed up here. She sensed the emotions of someone lurking within Ash. Prisma. Just his emotions alone were enough to have her start running for her life. It didn't help that she was new to the world.
"Who? Inside Ash? Hah!" Volcanion chuckled, finding that to outrageous, but believable. "That's just the fragment of his soul. He's just a small piece of Prisma's soul. Don't worry about it. It won't do anything to you. This whole Prisma thing isn't who he is."
Volcanion was aware of the Prisma situation. Mainly because Raleigh and Kimia keep in touch with him, informing him of the latest events. So he was fully aware of Prisma. He knew what he was capable of and how dangerous he could be. That was the reason he didn't trust Prisma and his intentions. He didn't trust him at all. If he ever saw him again, he wouldn't hesitate to take action. He'd protect everyone around him.
He also knew about Prisma's soul residing within Ash, a tiny fragment of Prisma. And he knew how powerful that fragment could be. It was a miracle Ash had it under control and only had a few awakenings. He just hoped it would remain that way, not wanting to lose control of himself or hurt anyone.
"Gear. Magearna?"
"Come and walk with me. You're new to the world, so get a good look." He instructed, turning and walking away from her. He was going to give her a tour of his domain. The Nebel Plateau. He was going to show her around the beautiful area that he called home. "Follow me. And don't stray too far."
The Nebel Plateau is a remote highlands not too far from the Azoth Kingdom. An area of lush nature, surrounded by steep cliffs and mountain sides. The area is untouched by human hands, making it a prime spot for wild Pokémon to thrive. Aside from Ash and his friends, all thanks to Volcanion mellowing out. The Pokémon that live in the Plateau have no contact with humans and behave as they would in the wild.
The Plateau itself was split into four main sections. The first was a large forest, filled with trees and plants. The second was a swampy marshland. The third was a vast plain. And finally, the last was a mountainous region. All these areas were connected by rivers, which flowed through each area.
The Pokémon living here are very rare and hard to find. Most of them are either Grass or Water type. There are even a few Bug types and Fairy Types that live in the area.
It was also the home of one of the most powerful Pokémon in existence. Volcanion. The guardian of this land and the Pokémon that lived in it. The one who protects this area from harm. The Legendary Pokémon that was the sole reason the Pokemon in this area were so comfortable.
And now, Flurry Heart's Magearna was touring this place with the Steam Pokémon. Volcanion would take her around the Plateau, letting her see the beauty of his home. It was a beautiful sight. It was peaceful. There were Pokémon everywhere. They were all enjoying themselves. It was a place where they could live without fear of humans.
Volcanion would let her look around and see everything. She could explore the forest, the marshlands, the plains, and the mountains. She could even explore the underground cave system. She could go wherever she pleased.
While they were walking, Volcanion would explain to her about the Plateau. He would tell her about the Pokémon that lived here. He would tell her about how he came to be the guardian of this place. He would tell her about his past and his future. The dangers he had to go through.
However, he also ensured her that now that she was in the world, while she will have to face danger, folks like Ash, Raleigh, Clemont and the others would help her along the way. He could tell that she was nervous about the prospect, but she should know that she wasn't alone in her journey.
"Magearna. Gear." Magearna replied, understanding. She knew that she was new to the world and that she had a lot to learn. She knew that she was weak compared to most Pokémon, but she was strong in her own way. She had a lot to learn and experience. She had to grow up fast and learn how to survive in this world.
Volcanion was essentially starting her off, making sure she took small steps.
Volcanion nodded. He was glad that she understood. He wanted her to enjoy the world while she was here. He wanted her to have fun and experience the joys of being a Pokémon. The little things that made life worth living.
"Nice view, isn't it? It was smaller than before, but after Ash made that wish, it's gotten even bigger. Honestly, that kid. Always doing the wildest things."
"Gear! Magearna! Ma!" Magearna agreed, looking at the view. She had to admit, it was a beautiful sight. It was a nice view. She couldn't wait to see more of it. She was going to enjoy the world while she could. She was going to have fun.
"Magearna!" Suddenly a voice called out for her, reaching her from this distance. It was Flurry Heart's voice. By using the equivalent of the Royal Canterlot Voice, she got the Magearna's attention.
The young princess could be seen flying in the air, heading in their direction. She was accompanied by the others who were on foot, including the Magearna that belonged to the Azoth Kingdom, who was being carried by Flash Sentry's Pidgeot. They had caught up with her.
"Magearna!"
"Gear?" Flurry's Magearna cried out. Clearly, she wasn't terrified of them whatsoever, recognizing that they were safe to be around. She only ran on impulse after sensing Prisma. And with Ash not present, she had no reason to start running away again. Volcanion noticed how Raleigh's Magearna waved at him from afar. She new for a fact that if Flurry's Magearna were to show up here, she'd meet him and be calmed down, despite his rather menacing appearance.
But since Volcanion didn't spot Ash, only Pikachu and the others, he had to wonder why?
The Azoth Kingdom.
Ash was back in the castle, laying on the guest bed while looking at the ceiling. He didn't really feel all that great knowing he was the reason why Magearna was terrified. It was his fault that she ran away. If it weren't for him, then maybe this whole situation wouldn't have happened in the first place.
"Man...This Prisma thing's got everyone doing a lot...Twilight starting One Light and even some Pokemon being afraid of me..." Ash muttered, thinking to himself. He wasn't really feeling all that good right now. He was worried about Flurry's Magearna. He was worried about the others. He was worried about himself.
All this because of Prisma.
So far, he's done his best to keep Prisma's soul back. The same can be said for Sombra, who was also within him. However, Sombra couldn't stop the awakenings at all. He could only keep the soul contained with the help of Ash's own emotions. But there was no telling when the next awakening would occur. And when that happened, what would it do to him? What would it do to everyone else? What would it do to the world?
The same can be said for his counterparts. He knew for a fact they felt the same. Despite defeating so many threats to the world, this was a threat that was not only hard to figure out when it would be fully unleashed, but it was also on a personal level. For once, it was a threat centered around Ash himself.
Ash could feel that power building up inside of him. He could feel it. The power that was growing stronger. He could feel Prisma's emotions. He could feel his thoughts. And it was getting more intense every day. He couldn't stop it. He couldn't prevent it from happening. All he could do was keep it contained. And that was hard enough.
Sinnoh.
And of course, there were those who wished to see Prisma gone. Some, opting for far more extreme options, such as relying on old enemies of Ash. Such is the case of Strident Heart.
The angel blamed Ash for how things turned out. The rise to power that Team Plasma gained and the failure to save her fellow angel Lightwing led Strident Heart to one option. Finding Ash's old enemies. She wanted to stop Team Plasma, but to also ensure that Ash Ketchum never causes any future problems. In her eyes, he was the ultimate threat. Not Team Plasma.
Among one of these enemies she aimed to find was Gringis Kodai. A man with a vendetta against Ash and his friends, locked up in prison. Strident Heart arrived near this prison, standing on the outside and gazing at it from a distance.
In her eyes, this was the correct path. The Angels failed to save Lightwing and many of them have either been sent flying elsewhere or have been captured by Team Plasma. Strident Heart couldn't even return to the Light Canvas, having no other means of help. She was a Lone Angel now.
She flew towards the prison, ready to free Gringis and have him join her cause. It wasn't her first choice. But she needed all the help she could get. Even from someone like him. She had to get him to join her side and help her stop Team Plasma, and more importantly, Ash Ketchum.
As the journey continues.
