My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Mirados
Previous ChapterNext ChapterUniverse 50. Day.
"Ngh..." Ash slowly woke up. After he and everyone else were shot out of the gateway, they were knocked out. But Ash was the first to awaken.
The young boy rubbed his head, soon gazing at the environment before him. Absolute high structures that ascend through multiple city layers, breaking through the clouds themselves. Made of an unknown material that is similar to a metallic alloy and glass, they were massive. The skies above them are filled with vehicles that soar at incredible speeds and heights.
These buildings were not the only thing that stood out. There were large neon holograms floating in midair. They were displaying advertisements, news and other kinds of media for all to see. And in addition to these, the ground below him was made of smooth asphalt, designed to be sleek and aesthetically pleasing. It was clear that he was in the middle of a busy city center.
There were ponies all over, walking with their Pokemon and doing what people in this world would normally do. Some wore fancy suits while others had more casual attire. Hoverboards were as common as the vehicles above.
Ash noticed the technology surrounding him. It was unlike anything he'd ever seen before in any other universe. Everything looked so sleek and advanced. There were even floating billboards advertising the latest products and services. On the billboards, they were promoting what appeared to be items filled with Quantum Energy.
"What is this...?" Ash had to wonder to himself as Pikachu slowly woke up.
"Pi...Pika?" Him and a few others would slowly awaken. In fact, not everyone ended up in the same spot. Ash managed to stick by his friends and two Canterlot Soldiers. But everyone else ended up somewhere else in this world due to the tampering of the gateway. They were all scattered about.
"What's going on...? Where are we?" Pinkie wondered. Everyone else had no answer to give, since they were as clueless as she was. This was their first time here in the first place. It's as though the entire group was flung from one place to another in an instant.
But it was clear that this wasn't the world that Ash and his friends were supposed to be at. In their minds, they expected a school that housed many unicorns who could use magic. Instead, they're surrounded by a vast metropolis, where technology is integrated into every aspect of daily life. This left the group in a confused and disoriented state.
Before they could figure out what was going on, trying to recover, they were surrounded as one of these many vehicles in multiple numbers appeared out of nowhere. Literally. By materializing with a flash, these vehicles surrounded the group. They had a unique appearance to them, matching that of what appeared to be a carapace. The carapace of a Dragon to be exact, which would match what was shown on a billboard. They were all made from the Quantum Energy of a certain Legendary Pokemon, with a dragonic appearance.
The vehicle would open, as multiple ponies alongside their Pokemon apppeared from behind their doors, wearing what appeared to be futuristic uniforms that matched their cars. These Ponies wore helmets that had a unique feature, an in-built visor that could analyze everything in front of them, from the group's Pokemon to their identities. And these visors were connected to their vehicles' built-in database.
Spike tugged Applejack's tail, trying to get her and everyone else up.
"Well now. The Director was right. Some folks fro another world would show up here today." Out of these Carapace-Like Vehicles stepped a pony who seeed far more important than the rest. He seemed like the leader, with a blue and gold uniform. His helmet's visor wasn't on, so his eyes were visible for the group to see. His cutie mark was a badge, so his special talent was being an enforcer of the law. He also wore what looked to be a badge on his uniform, one that seemed rather unique.
"Two of them are humans, sir. Just like those other two." One pony commented, looking at Ash and Raleigh's species. Raleigh held his head, soon noticing how hooves were pointing in hsi direction.
"You know what to do. Safety precautions, boys. And get them somewhere to rest, they look too light-headed." The Leader would speak to them, and the others were ready to apprehend them. But before any of that could happen, someone came up.
"Hold on. Do it gently, at least." A voice spoke. Her name was Delilah, an Earth Pony. She did not wear the same attire as the rest but she did keep that blue and gold theme. Lacking the same flair, she seemed to be a middling type compared to her superiors. "You did say that they look light-headed after all."

"Hm. Right, right. Alright. Do it gently, boys. No sudden movements. Let's take em' in. They're in safe hooves." The Leader would tell her as he would have the others get the group in the vehicles.
"Wait, hold on..." Ash held his head, trying to say something else. But that light-headedness was kicking in with enough time. There was something truly different about this universe that made them all wobbly and it wasn't just the gateway incident. "What's going on here...?" Ash would ask himself, wondering what the cause was.
"My head...I can't think straight." Even someone like Harmony and even Luna were unable to focus properly. Not a single one could stand straight. Due to this, Twilight Moonlight's invisibility spell ran out, causing her to be revealed to everyone else. But Ash and his friends couldn't even have a chance to properly react.
"Just hold steady. We'll get you all the necessary gear to handle this." The leader spoke as all of them would be carried over to the Carapace-like Vehicles, one by one, gently seated. The same applied to Twilight Moonlight, who was seen as a part of their group by default.
Raleigh tried to speak up. "Wait...My sister...I have to-" He cried, trying to tell the law enforcement. But he was still wobbling, and so were the others.
"It's okay. Just relax for a little while." Delilah would respond, looking towards the Prince and then back at the rest of the group, seeing them all get in their cars. The group was placed into the backseats, buckled up, and their Pokemon were also secured. The vehicles then began to hover and move forward, heading to their destination.
As they drove off, some of the residents watched, with some even stopping to see the group of strangers being escorted away. There were even more billboards, showing some of the most powerful figures of this universe, the Legendary League and The Road of Technology. The former was an organization dedicated to preserving the natural balance between humans and Pokemon. The latter, however, was focused on advancing the world's technological capabilities.
These billboards would show a pony who was once the champion of this world. A Pony who was a master inventor, whose creations have changed the lives of millions, with one such example being the vehicles that Ash and his friends were currently in.
Even with their heads being befuddled, they were given the chance to admire these sights, in awe of the advanced city they found themselves in. It was a city where the future had arrived early. They could hear the sound of their vehicle as it drove through the bustling streets. There was an overwhelming feeling of being out of their element, surrounded by technology they had never seen before and an atmosphere that was unlike any they had experienced.
What stood out the most was that there were Pokemon wearing advanced technology in their daily lives, just like the residents themselves. From the common Pokemon to the rarest, it seemed like everyone was benefitting from the technology that surrounded them.
"Here. You'll feel better with these." In his hooves, the leader held a strange item that would be placed gently on Ash's chest. Upon making contact with his chest, the device would glow, becoming transparent and soon spreading across Ash's body in an instant. In fact, it did the same for the rest of the group.
Once this was over, Ash felt much better and could focus once more. The same could be said for the others. Each of them had these items placed on their chests, soothing their heads. Ash and Pikachu took a deep sigh, before looking around. He then looked to the leader.
"You'll still need time to relax and let it all ease in, but you'll be safe. We'll let you be at your best before we start giving out questions." The leader added.
"Thanks." Ash thanked him. "But...how come we need all this stuff?"
"Pika?"
"Glad you asked! As newcomers to our Universe, you're going to love this." A smile met his face. He's been wanting to say this for what seemed to be a while. "Our entire planet is being held and carried by a Dragon!"
"Really?" If Ash had the energy, he would be screaming about this, raving even.
"Pikachu...?" Both were in shock by this.
"Yes, yes. The whole thing! Top to bottom, side-to-side! Our entire city of Mirados and other nations and lands out there in the world are safe and sound, held comfortably by the Dragon who carries us. That's why you were all light-headed. You're on a Planet that's constantly moving. But you'll get used to it."
"Mirados?"
"That's the City we're in. One of the largest and most technologically advanced places in the world." He would then point out. "Well, the best, I'd personally say, but some will argue otherwise."
"So, which Dragon is carrying this planet Is it a Pokemon"?
"Of course it is. Technically, there was a previous Dragon that carried this planet, but a new one now holds it, following in its footsteps. We don't know the name of either Dragons. One has existed since the far past and the other has been around just 1000 years ago. This city was initially called Koraidos. But that's besides the point. Rest up some more. We're almost there."
"Right."
But as they were heading there, the other team had arrived already. The Arcane Institute. Led by Flawless BlueLight, the group of many went undetected so far, standing on top of a massive rooftop. Along with her, she brought her sisters, and a multitude of powerful unicorns that would serve as support.
They had their own mission to carry out. Their mission was simple: track down and apprehend Hilbert and Nate. But more than, that, thanks to an update from Professor Grogar, Ash's group was also a part of their mission now that they were here as well.
"Okay. There's gonna have to be like, multiple teams that need to find them. The only ones we care about are Hilbert, Nate and Ash." Flawless spoke to them. "This a good time to have all these new gals have a go."
She looked at Alpha, along with all the many Zetas and Betas that stood beside her. Each of these Soul Trainers would stand in a perfect line, being incredibly focused. But despite being clones, that didn't stop them from having personalities. Specifically Zeta and Beta. The Zeta in the front, who were all shorter than the Betas and especially Alpha herself, had a proud yet cocky smirk.
"Oho? So we'll be the ones to go? Alright. We'll find them in a jiffy! We're ready to make a good impression on you. All of us." The first Zeta in line commented. She was the first Zeta ever made and appeared to be the main one, leading her fellow Zetas.
"Just those three? And you think it'll be easy for us to ignore all the rabble?" The Beta in front spoke up, her personality leaning more towards the snarky side of things. She too was the first Beta ever made, leading her own. "We can do the mission in a jiffy. These guys won't know what hit them'."
"The rabble are the other friends. But if you have to capture the friends, go for it." Flawless commented. She looked to both the two leaders and the rest. "You'll need some assistance though. If you see something that matters, a lot of us will join up. Easy as that."
"Understood." Alpha spoke up. Unlike the two others, she was the most disciplined out of the three, being very calm and stoic in comparison. The Betas were the same way, as disciplined as the Zetas. The only difference was the height of their bodies. Alpha was the tallest with Beta being second and Zeta being last.
"Wish we could just goof off here. This place is, like, so interesting." Violet added.
"We'll get to goof off, once we deal with everyone else here. If I had to guess, they're so totally hiding Hlbert and Nate from us." Phantasia uttered. "No doubt about that."
"Mmm, maybe. Granted, this isn't a universe that's like, part of the Universal Alliance, so it's hard to say. Only one way to find out. Let's go, all of you. Spread out." Flawless ordered, using a teleportation spell. With her words, all of them were instantly gone, having been sent across the city, with each team having at least one or more of the clones.
Not long after, the team arrived at their destination, being in the heart of Mirados. As they drove, Ash saw a grand structure rising in front of him. It was a massive, futuristic skyscraper that seemed to stretch into the clouds. As the car stopped, they all stepped out and made their way inside the towering structure.
The interior was equally impressive. There were sleek, high-tech gadgets everywhere, from holographic displays to robotic assistants that guided them to separate rooms. They were to be interrogated separately. Before that, they were to wait and recover.
While they waited, each member of the team had a moment to collect their thoughts. They couldn't help but be awestruck by the city they had stumbled upon. They couldn't help but feel like strangers in this unfamiliar place.
"How did we end up here? This isn't the Arcane Institute at all..." Rainbow Dash muttered. She was in a separate room with Rarity and Spike. Rainbow Dash was a bit annoyed that their journey to find Twilight Sparkle had been interrupted so abruptly.
"I thought we went through the right gateway..." Spike responded, scratching his head. He was still in shock from being thrown through space by the tampered gateway. He had expected them to end up in the world of the Arcane Institute, but instead, they had arrived in a completely different universe.
"I...think it's the gateway," Rarity spoke, trying to figure out what had gone wrong with their journey. "There's a possibility that it might have been tampered with before we could arrive at our destination. If so...what a shame."
"More importantly...Twilight Moonlight's here. I can't believe she snuck past us..." Rainbow Dash growled. "It's because of her that our Twilight's been taken!"
"Not to worry. Once those officers, I assume they're a type of police anyways, hear everything from us, Twilight Moonlight will be apprehended and won't be a problem at all." Rarity confidently crossed her hooves, feeling that this was a victory for them.
But it wasn't going to be that simple.
Suddenly, a holographic display appeared on a screen in front of them. On the screen, the image of a stern-looking stallion with a black mane and a badge cutie mark came into focus. His name was Lawhoof. The stallion spoke in a firm, commanding voice that immediately grabbed their attention.
"Ladies. Dragon. I am Chief Lawfoot. Welcome to Mirados, City of Technology and Innovation. Now, it's come to my attention that you lot have come from another universe, correct?" He spoke. "If so, then it's a great pleasure to meet the rest of the worlds and their people. So far, you've done a great job of not causing trouble in the area, which is a good start. So we'll try to not make things too rough on you"
"Well, we're not supposed to be in this world, honestly." Spike replied, explaining their situation to him. "Um, sir."
"We're supposed to be somewhere else, finding our friend and a whole bunch of folks that were captured." Applejack explained, telling the truth and hoping that he'd listen. "So, uh, sorry to disappoint ya'. But we're kinda not interested in stayin' too long."
"Hm, misplaced are we? Even though you were the ones going through that gateway. You weren't positive you were heading to the right location?"
"We were. But someone tampered with our gateway! They had to!" Rarity interjected, hoping to defend herself. She knew they didn't want to be in this universe. They were in a rush to save their friends. It would be terrible to have to waste their time on anything else, no matter how fascinating this city was to look at. "We couldn't have ended up here, in this world, on accident, surely."
"Hm-hm. Alright then, alright. While you were all in the vehicles, recovering, nothing hostile was sensed on you, thankfully. So, it does seem like you were heading somewhere else. But, right now, we're on high alert. For visitors from another world." The Chief didn't make it easy on them. "The prediction said something dangerous is coming, so I can't be too sure if it's you all or not. And, seeing that you've got two of those human fellers, and a human has caused a great amount of trouble here, well...we have to be safe rather than sorry."
"Ah'm telling ya, we're innocent." Applejack insisted, shaking her head. "We don't mean no harm, honest."
"Oh, we're not thinking of you all being a threat. You all seem pretty harmless." Lawhoof admitted. "But there's no denying that someone here is. Someone dangerous and someone who needs to be kept in check. But the thing is that, the predictions didn't exactly tell me what that threat was. Just that one's coming and to watch out for people from another universe."
"What? That's crazy talk." Rainbow Dash shouted. "Hey, can we just go already? And aren't you part of the Universal Alliance? We should be working together!"
"Universal Alliance Oh, no, young lady. We're our own universe. We're aware of other worlds, but we do our own thing and never travel to any others. Our Director doesn't allow it, due to safety precautions and the potential dangers of such a task." He explained to the group, making it clear that he was the law of this land, and they had no choice but to comply. "So no. No leaving until I'm absolutely sure you all aren't a danger. Or a part of one, at the very least."
This was a world outside of that. This universe was not allied with anyone. It largely kept to itself, making this completely neutral ground. For better or for worse. And depending on which side gains the edge in this universe, those living in Mirados would soon witness a coming storm.
Ash and the others were far from Twilight Sparkle, but there was another Twilight present with them that had yet to do anything crucial. Or rather, lacked the drive to do so right now. Twilight Moonlight.
As the journey continues.
