One Light vs the Arcane Institute

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Universe 50. Mirados. The Mirados Circuit. Afternoon.

The final section of the Mirados Circuit was upon them. Ash, Twilight, Brock, Pikachu, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Mew, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Raleigh had successfully thwarted the Institute's forces, but the race was not yet won.

The final section was known as Core City. The second largest city in Mirados, Core City was the entertainment capital of Mirados. A bustling, lively place full of amusement parks, theaters, restaurants, bars, clubs, and much more.

It was a place where the people of Mirados went to enjoy themselves, and the citizens were always eager to see the Celestial Circuit racers come through. Core City was a sprawling cityscape, filled with towering buildings, colorful billboards, and bright neon lights.

The racers had to weave their way through the streets and alleys, avoiding the crowds of cheering onlookers, while trying to outpace their rivals. It was a chaotic, thrilling experience, and the final stretch of the race.

But the real challenge came in navigating the streets below. As the racers reached the city, the route narrowed significantly, forcing them into a series of twisting, labyrinthine alleys and streets. The city streets were packed with obstacles and hazards that tested their reflexes and their ability to adapt to the ever-changing environment.

Ash and his allies had to swerve and weave through the crowded, neon-lit streets. The air around them was filled with the sound of their engines, the screeching of tires, and the constant roar of the wind as they raced along. It was a cacophony of sound and movement that seemed to engulf them.

The final Pokemon of this circuit they had to deal with were Steel Type. These Pokemon would emerge from all across, their metallic bodies glistening in the bright neon lights. They ranged from small, nimble Beldum to massive Aggron, each using their steel-type moves to try and slow down the racers. The Steel Types would launch metallic spikes from their bodies, creating dangerous roadblocks that the racers had to navigate.

The racers were forced to constantly change their trajectory, weaving in and out of tight spaces, and using all their skill and cunning to avoid these obstacles. The sheer intensity of the race was overwhelming, and the adrenaline pumping through their veins was electric. They could feel the energy of the crowd as they raced by, the roar of the audience cheering them on.

As the racers approached the center of Core City, the obstacles and hazards increased in intensity. The Steel Type Pokemon became more aggressive, launching their attacks with greater ferocity. The racers had to push themselves to the limit, their vehicles and bodies pushed to the breaking point. But despite the danger, the thrill of the race was intoxicating.

There were other obstacles too, such as the giant, mechanical Skarmory that flew above the city, attacking any racer that got too close. There were also massive, steel-plated walls that would suddenly rise up from the ground, blocking the path ahead and forcing the racers to find a way around or over them.

The Skarmory would swoop down from above, its razor-sharp talons gleaming in the light. It would dive at the racers, trying to knock them off their vehicles or send them spinning out of control.

The racers were forced to stay alert, their senses heightened by the adrenaline pumping through their veins. They would weave in and out of traffic, their vehicles skidding and sliding as they tried to stay one step ahead of their opponents. The streets were a blur of motion, with the sound of engines roaring and tires squealing as the racers pushed themselves to their limits. The smell of burning rubber and the taste of sweat on their lips was a testament to the intensity of the race.

But even with all of these obstacles, the racers were determined to cross the finish line first. They knew that this was their chance to prove themselves, to show the world that they had what it took to be a champion.

"I know we just got out of a pretty dangerous situation...but I actually wanna win this race!" Rainbow Dash grinned, the finish line right up ahead and within view. "Come on, come on! Full speed ahea, you beautiful Gyarados!"

Ash agreeed, pushing his vehicle to its limit. Twilight, Brock, and the others followed suit, their vehicles revving and roaring as they sped up. They were neck and neck with the other racers, all of them vying for the top spot. The finish line was in sight, and the racers could almost taste victory.

The others followed, forming a line behind the large Gyarados Vehicle. The Steel-Type Pokémon continued to launch their attacks, but the racers were prepared. They dodged and weaved, their vehicles skidding and sliding as they tried to stay on course.

As the finish line drew nearer, the intensity of the race reached a fever pitch. The Steel-Type Pokémon launched a final barrage of attacks, but the racers remained focused and determined. They dodged and weaved, their vehicles skidding and sliding across the track.

With a final push, the racers crossed the finish line. The crowd erupted into cheers, their voices ringing out in the air. The racers had done it - they had conquered the Celestial Circuit and emerged victorious. As they slowed down and came to a stop, the adrenaline still pumping through their veins, they couldn't help but smile. They had won, and it had been a hard-fought battle.

But as for whose vehicle managed to pass the finish line first, that went to Ash, who's hoverboard crossed the finish line a second before Twilight's group did, a second before Pinkie Pie's group. It wasn't much of a difference, but a difference it was.

And he was victorious, the winner of the Celestial Circuit. He had won, and his victory was met with a great cheer from the audience as he slowly came to a stop. He lifted up his arms, shouting in joy.

"I won! I did it! I beat the Celestial Circuit! Woohoo! Yeah! This is awesome!" He looked back at the others, his friends. "We did it! Yeah-ha!"

"Pikachu!"

Ash jumped up and down in celebration, and the others couldn't help but follow suit. They had all worked so hard, and they had all contributed to the victory in some way. They had all faced their own challenges and trials along the way, but in the end, they had emerged victorious.

Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Spike got out of the Gyarados Vehicle, laying on their backs as they caught their breaths. Rarity and Pinkie Pie did the same, laying down on the road with the others as the crowd cheered, the sound of victory filling their ears.

"We pulled it off!" Twilight smiled up at him. She got to her feet, walked over to him and hugged him tightly. "And with all of us still in one piece!"

He hugged her back, feeling the warmth of her embrace. Twilight froze for a moment with a blush forming on her face. But she wasn't complaining one bit as a plethora of confetti descended upon them all. Applauding this was Pendence, the one who allowed all this chaos to even happen in the first place.

The staff member of the race would approach, clapping her hooves together as she levitated with magic. "Well done. You finished it quicker than I expected. You even managed to only have one pitstop. Usually, most racers need at least 5 pitstops for a tune-up. It was wise for me to promote you all to the next level of racing. My best idea yet. Seeing all of that transpire was truly entertaining. I could do without a good chunk of the racers being defeated though..."

"You're the one who got the Arcane Institute involved?" Twilight looked over at Pendence, who did not deny it one bit. She simply nodded to confirm it. "Why?! Why would you even do that?! They're bad news! You knew that!"

"Bad news is subjective, Moonstone. Or should I say, Twilight Sparkle? For example, Ash Ketchum is considered terrible news to those within the institute. An anomaly that must be taken care of at all costs." She glared at him, making Ash flinch a little. "But that's what makes it so much fun. Ever since I was young, I've always lived my life on the edge, not afraid of anything. A fun experience is my vision and no matter what the circumstances are, I wish to see it through."

"...Doesn't that remind you of someone" Rarity whispered.

"Sounds a lot like the Rift..." Rainbow Dash whispered back. In a way, Pendence was like the Rift. Solely looking for entertainment and was not afraid to put the others in danger for her own desires.

"I was hoping that they would provide more of a challenge to you all. I guess they're not as good as I thought they would be." Pendence shrugged her shoulders. "Oh well. That one girl was the best part of this all. Alpha was her name, right? I'd love to have someone like here consistently in these racers."

"I think they did a pretty good job." Brock chuckled, rubbing his forehead. "We were almost wiped out."

"Almost. The key word." Pendence responded. "I expect great things from you all in the future. You're the first racers in a long time to actually defeat the Celestial Circuit in record. It was a lot of fun to watch, I admit, but it was not the most thrilling race I've seen in my lifetime. I'm going to go all the way and say that you'll become champions of the racing league. If you decided to stay, that is."

"Something lie this could get you in trouble with the police..then again, they're being held hostage by the Institute." Twilight pointed out. "To be fair, we each had the same idea of challenging the race in the first place, so I guess we're involved in the plan in a way."

"Indeed. But, I suppose you have places to be. Back to your own universe, I'm guessing?" Pendence replied. "Nothing else to do here?"

"We should be heading back. We'll clear up some things before we go. One of which is making sure the Institute doesn't follow us again. Right now our Aura and Souls are cloaked but they only found us because they followed the same race track as us. Once we leave this Universe, we'll be able to hide from them for sure." Twilight continued.

"You won't be going anywhere just yet." Suddenly, her voice reached them, causing them all to gasp.

It was Alpha.

But before they could all turn to see her, swiftly, orbs of Quantum Energy that came by the dozen suddenly started flying everywhere. These orbs would start engulfing and containing the crowds that were surrounding them. These orbs of Quantum Energy would then start to float in the sky. All the crowds were now trapped in these orbs.

They kept appearing, threatening to trap every single individual here. Especially Ash's group. Some of the orbs flew their way, only for Twilight to quickly put up a shield that protected them all from the incoming orbs. Pendence was also trapped in an orb, floating in the sky. She didn't look very worried about her predicament though.

Once they saw the crowds all trapped, they saw her. Alpha was standing atop the Celestial Circuit building, a large skyscraper in the center of city. It was a tall, gleaming white building, with a glass dome at the top. Alpha looked down from her high position, wielding something in her arm.

By using the scraps of the destroyed vehicles, she created a mini-weapon that she could carry with ease. This was a weapon that shot out those orbs that were now keeping the crowds in the sky. She pointed her weapon towards them. She was planning to trap them in an orb.

The weapon appeared in the shape of a mini-arm cannon. It had a sleek, metallic body with a long barrel and a trigger mechanism on the grip. It had a power source on the back that emitted a faint glow. The cannon was fitted with an energy meter and a targeting system, allowing her to aim the orbs with pinpoint precision. She had a determined look in her eyes as she held the weapon, ready to use it against her enemies.

"There's just no way...How can she be this persistent?!" Rainbow Dash was in disbelief at this insane persistence. Nothing like this has ever been seen before. It was absurd.

"That outburst should've held them all back, but she managed to get here this quickly!" Brock gasped while Raleigh looked up at this clone of his sister. He didn't know what to say right now. It was her, but at the same time, it wasn't.

"Let this be the last time you evade us." Alpha said as she would continue shooting from the cannon. Orbs of Quantum Energy would start flying everywhere, threatening to engulf everything in its path. Twilight's shield would start to crack as orbs started hitting the shield. This wasn't good at all. Her horn would start to glow brighter as she would try to focus, keeping the shield up.

But Alpha was not alone. The remaining Betas, Zetas and Students appeared, here to play their part in capturing Ash and Twilight. Flawless, Phantasia and BlueLight would conceal themselves, opting for a sneak attack.

The trio had their horns glow, their eyes locked onto Ash. They were preparing to attack. Flawless had her own horn glow, ready to use the Flawless Aura. Phantasia would use her illusionary powers to distract them. Violet would unleash a powerful light-based attack to blind them, giving the sisters an advantage.

Flawless would then use the power of the Flawless Aura to enhance her sisters' abilities, increasing the strength and speed of their combined attack. As the sisters worked in perfect unison, their magic would weave together, creating an overwhelming force that would be difficult for Ash and Twilight to counter in time.

But that would not come to pass.

Not with Audino hearing the attack coming.

"Dino!" She got in front of her friends, promptly using Protect to create a barrier around them, just in time to block the attack. The three sisters' magic would bounce off of the barrier, effectively saving the group from the surprise attack. "Audino!"

"Aw, seriously?!" Violet groaned, the location of the sisters being spotted by Audino, thanks to her excellent hearing.

"It looks like only a few of them showed up. At least that makes things slightly fairer for us." Rarity joked, feeling a bit of relief.

"Although there are fewer of us..." Alpha would jump from the building, descending upon her targets with a stylish landing. She was right beside the sisters. "We can still gain the upper hand and succeed in capturing you. To ensure that you do not receive outside help, these Quantum Orbs will keep the crowd and other racers trapped in a state of stasis. You have no choice but to face us head on."

"You're really insistent, aren't you?" Fluttershy asked, looking at Alpha with a saddened expression. Alpha simply nodded in response.

"I am. I'll capture you and Ash no matter what." Alpha responded. "I don't care if I'm going to perish doing so. I will not fail my first mission. My most important mission."

"What's stopping some of us from saving the crowd exactly?" Rarity questioned.

"Try anything and I will set the orbs off." Alpha threatened, causing them to gasp and flinch. They didn't know what that meant, but it surely couldn't be anything good. They couldn't risk it, now could they?

"Oh, how fun! A great closing act!" Pendence showed how odd of a character she was. Even when she was currently trapped in a ball, she still seemed to have a positive attitude.

"You're not scared?!" Rainbow Dash was surprised. She thought everyone in this Universe would be frightened out of their minds. But then again, she didn't know what Pendence's character was like. Maybe she was just that weird.

"Not at all. This is a great finale for the race! I can see why you were the winners." Pendence was still cheerful. "You're all very strong, and you don't give up. Plus, you're really entertaining!"

"Entertaining?!" Rainbow Dash couldn't believe her ears. This girl was really strange, and the rest of them were also surprised by her words.

"You don't have to worry about us leaving just yet." Ash would adjust his hat, gazing at Alpha and the remaining students. "We were just thinking the same thing Stopping you here!"

"Pika!"

"Hmph." Alpha narrowed her eyes, holding her Poke Ball. Everyone else on both sides would do the same thing, readying themselves to summon their Pokémon.

The battle of the century was about to begin!

Everyone would throw their Pokéballs in the air. Out of Rainbow Dash's Pokéball, Braviary had appeared. For Rarity, it was straight for her Pheromosa this time while Applejack, Pinke and Fluttershy kept their Sceptile, Mew and Audino active since they were still out. The same went for Ash's Pikachu and Twilight's Espeon. The sisters would summon the same Pokémon as before, while the Betas and Zetas would summon various Pokémon of different species.

Alpha stuck with her Gardevoir as always, being the Pokemon she could count on, despite being together for essentially one day. The crowd, despite being trapped against their own will, were actually looking forward to this. Pendence certainly was.

"It's gonna be so satisfying beating you three again." Flawless specifically spoke to Rarity, Applejack and Rainbow Dash. She and her sisters felt the need to embarrass the trio of Equestrians like they did back at the Nebel Plateau. The battle was a rough one, and it was clear that the three sisters were going to make sure they wouldn't be able to forget it.

"Yeah, but that's only because you caught us off guard before. It won't go down like last time." Rainbow Dash would boast. "We'll wipe the floor with you three this time!"

"Your tricks won't work on us this time." said Rarity.

"We'll see!" Flawless scoffed as she and her sisters threw their Poke Balls forward. Out emerged Flawless's Lucario, Phantasia's Delphox and Violet's Zoroark once more, the trio of Pokémon looking as powerful as ever.

"We're going to show you the true power of the BlueLight Sisters!" Flawless would boast, making her sisters smile. "And you'll never forget it! I think I'll win this in a few minutes! Use Aura Sphere, Lucario!"

"Rrrr!" Lucario started off strong, manifesting and building up an Aura Sphere in its paws before firing the powerful attack at everyone else.

Rarity's Pheromosa would jump in front and spin its body rapidly to the point it created a vacuum of sorts, sucking in the Aura Sphere and protecting the others from the blast.

"Use Flamethrower, Delphox!"

"Go, Zoroark! Night Slash!"

"Zoro!" Leaping through the smoke was Zoroark, its claws laced with darkness. Zoroark was ready to slice and dice everyone in the way, and it was clear that Delphox was also aiming to do the same with its Flamethrower.

"Braviary! Use Steel Wing!"

"Bravi!" Braviary would nod, flapping his wings. He'd fly towards Zoroark with his wings now glowing a shiny metallic silver. Zoroark and Braviary clashed, the two clashing their moves against each other. "Vi...!" After a bit of a struggle, Braviary would push Zoroark off him, causing the Dark-Type slide across the ground. At the same time, scarlet flames with a wide radius approached, prompting Sceptile to counter this

"Dragon Pulse!"

"Scep...Tile!" From his mouth, a dragon-shaped beam of energy fired, countering Delphox's Flamethrower and causing a powerful explosion that covered the area in a cloud of smoke.

"Bone Rush!"

"Gardevoir! Dazzling Gleam!"

"Garde!" Gardevoir ascend, causing a whirlwind of smoke around her body as she flew up, dispersing it afterwards as she cast a rainbow-colored beam of energy at Sceptile. Meanwhile, Flawless's Lucario manifested a bone-like club in his grasp and was approaching Sceptile with it. The Grass-Type would look behind him, spotting the incoming attack.

"Iron Tail!"

"Dazzling Gleam as well!"

"Chu...Pika!" Pikachu and Espeon would defend Sceptile, with Pikachu clashing his tail against the Energy Bones, causing a rippling shockwave. Espeon would use her own Dazzling Gleam, clashing multiple rays of light with Gardevoir's. The clash would once again cause a massive explosion, causing the ground and sky to rumble with the force of the attacks.

"Espe!"

"Oooh, what an awful sight!" Rarity would close her eyes and cover her face for a moment, not wanting to get caught up in the explosion. At that moment, Pheromosa would dash to the side, evading a surprise attack from the Lucario who had broken past Pikachu's Iron Tail, forcing the Electric-Type to jump back and dodge.

Due to the force of this explosion, this forced the trainers to all gain their distance and scatter, moving across different parts of the area.

"Dragon Pulse!" Applejack would command her Sceptile to fire a Dragon Pulse at Flawless, Phantasia and Violet. The sisters would jump out of the way, evading the attack. Flawless would quickly retaliate.

"Aura Sphere!" She'd order Lucario to unleash a barrage of Aura Spheres at the trio. They were forced to jump out of the way of the incoming attack, which was powerful enough to shake the ground and send debris flying.

Fluttershy would make sure that Raleigh would be kept safe and sound, having Audino carry the young prince away. She wouldn't let anything happen to him.

"Wait! Kimia!" Raleigh cried out while Audino was carrying him away. "Is that you or not?! Where's my sister?!"

But his cries did not reach Alpha or any of the other Soul Trainers. All they were focused on was the mission. The many Pokemon of the Betas and Zetas went on a frenzy, attacking anyone who came too close. The many Pokemon that belonged to the Beta Trainers were rampaging around the battlefield, attacking any foe who dared to come near, or who even stood in their way.

Brock's Steelix would be the one to deal with a majority of these Pokemon, using his amazing defence to power through their attacks, and slamming into them with his powerful head. Soon, the whole area was in a frenzy as the crowd could only watch in both shock and excitement. All that racing came to an end but the battle was now reaching its climax as both sides took each other one.

"Twilight!" But there was one more member from the Arcane Institute who had finally appeared, setting hoof here and grabbing the attention of Twilight Sparkle.

It was Twilight Moonlight.

"Moonlight?!" Twilight Sparkle gasped, seeing her serious counterpart had finally appeared. But right ow, one thing was on her mind. While she was still buzzing from the truth of her existence, she needed to find a way to blow off some steam, recollect herself and look further into her purpose.

"Right here. Right now. Battle me." Twilight Moonlight would suddenly hold out a Poke Ball, challenging her counterpart. It seemed that she still allied herself with the Arcane Institute despite her thoughts. "One final time."

She requested a battle with Twilight Sparkle. But not just any battle. In her words, the final time they would battle. Twilight Moonlight aimed to make this one the last battle, but as to why? She had a reason for it and would show it to her counterpart. And of course, Twilight Sparkle would see for herself what Twilight Moonlight has decided upon.

As the journey continues.
