My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Equestria vs Unilight
Previous ChapterNext ChapterEquestria. Near Unilight. Nightfall.
Twilight Moonlight encountered Former King and Queen Night Light and Twilight Velvet, locking eyes. There was a brief silence as the look of Moonlight looked all too much like their daughter, albeit with different colours, but that same steely face.
The two stopped and backed away from her. The pony in question looked at the two, not saying a word. "Twilight?" The pair of ponies asked at the same time, wondering if this was the girl they were after.
"Twilight! Sweetie!" Former King Night Light lunged at the pony that looked like her daughter, wanting to hug her instantly. Not just as a form of reuniting, but also to quell her thoughts. Until Twilight Moonlight held him with magic.
"Back off, you creep. What are you trying at? Getting handsy?"
"What!? No! That is the opposite of what I was trying to do!" He exclaimed, feeling a tad offended at the implication. This was not the Twilight either of the parents knew. "I'm your father, of course!"
"Oh, really?" The pony that resembled their daughter replied, glaring at them. "I've never seen you before in my life."
"Dear. I don't think this is her." Twilight Velvet would speak up. "She doesn't seem to be affected. Her soul must still be sleeping. Which means it was another Twilight who was affected by the Remnant of the Lost."
"Oh...Alright." Night Light lowered his head, a sad frown forming on his face. Then, he turned to Twilight Moonlight and spoke. "Apologies..."
"It's fine." Twilight Moonlight turned her head.
"Wait. How are you still yourself? Wasn't your soul affected as well?" Twilight Velvet asked.
"It was. I felt it. It was the worst pain ever. I knew what it was and I knew she wanted to awaken within me...But I wasn't about to let that happen. I managed to hold back and reject her awakening. I had to use my Moonspace to pull it off..." Twilight would sigh and shake her head. "It was painful...But worth it. Otherwise, she would've taken over and would've become just as mad and crazy as the others. And that was not going to be pretty."
"Your Moonspace...I'd forgotten that." Night Light muttered, remembering that ability from the past. But only on Twilight Luminaria.
"I'm here to enter Unilight. Right now, I've got a mission I want to see out. In order to earn Princess Celestia's trust, I'm going to try and get in, find Twilight Luminaria and sabotage her plans." She would smile. "And in doing so, make up for the mistakes that I've done."
"By yourself? You'd need an army to even attempt that." Velvet would say, a worried expression on her face. "You'd be lucky to survive in there, and even then, you wouldn't be able to do that much on your own."
"Hm. And you two would? You looked like you were heading towards it as well." She would point out, noticing the two were going in the same direction. They didn't look like they were sneaking away from the battle. "Why is that?"
"We're...Here to talk some sense into our daughter." Night Light admitted. "We're the former King and Queen of Unilight. We are the Twilight's parents, the Twilight of the Lost Universe." He explained, which made Twilight's eyes widen. She didn't expect to run into the original King and Queen, the ones of the Lost Universe. "Our goal is to try and convince her to stop her madness and the cycle of violence she is going to bring, before it's too late and the entire multiverse pays the price. Our daughter is obsessed with the idea of destroying Prisma, or bringing the universe back, no matter the cost. She needs to know that this isn't the way to go, and that her actions are going to lead to a worse future."
"Well, in that case, we are both on the same page. But do you honestly think you can pull that off?" Twilight raised an eyebrow, skeptical. "If she is as gone and as deep in her obsession as you say, I highly doubt that anything is going to work on her. Even you, her own parents."
"I'm sure of it." Night Light said. "There has to be a way to reach her. If we can just speak to her, then we might be able to steer her away from all of this."
"Hopefully. But I'm not so sure..." Twilight Velvet certainly had her doubts.
"She will have to listen to me if she fails to listen to you." Twilight Moonlight coldly said. The duo felt those words, the way she spoke sounded a lot like their daughter. The same type of harshness and straightforwardness. "I am her reincarnation after all. If not, then I will resort to drastic measures...Come."
Twilight Moonlight approached the city, motioning for the duo to join her. After a bit of thinking and a short conversation, the former royal couple decided to follow the mare, and they joined her to get closer to the city.
Once close enough, the three of them would be in awe of what they are seeing. A massive, sprawling, advanced, beautiful city, filled to the brim with many buildings, structures, and lights. This was the heart of the Lost Universe, the place that Twilight Sparkle would rule from and where her plan to end the cycle would start. And it was absolutely magnificent. It was the perfect blend between a modern city, ancient civillization and a futuristic paradise, the architecture of the city a fusion of the two styles, creating a truly unique and breathtaking sight. The trio were awestruck at the sight of such an amazing location, and the beauty of the area only enhanced their experience.
"So this is Unilight..." It was Twilight Moonlight's first time seeing it this clearly. Previously, only memories of Twilight Luminaria allowed her to see parts of the city. But now, she was witnessing it herself, and it was a spectacular view. She was surprised at how big the place was. "It's huge!"
"Oh, this is just but 1% of the city." Night Light walked past her. "The whole thing is bigger, stronger and more advanced than any other nation. There's a reason why the capital of the Supernation was here. Come on, let's keep moving."
"Wait. A Supernation?" The Unicorn was quick to catch up to the two, not wanting to fall behind and not hear what they had to say. She was intrigued by the mention of a Supernation. "What is that? Some kind of alliance?"
"Of course. An alliance of Nations." The former king of Unilight answered. "A union of countries, united under the guidance of one person. In this case, the leader of the Lost Universe was none other than our daughter. Every single Nation on the planet was a part of the Supernation, each of the leaders and their people uniting together for a better tomorrow. Under the guidance of Twilight Luminaria, the world was in peace, and the land was prospering. And not to brag but..since I used to be the one in charge, I did a lot."
"We did a lot." Velvet would nudge him. "Both of us helped. But yes, everyone came together, and things were looking great." The former queen would say. "But that was until..."
"Prisma attacked. Right. I know how this goes." Twilight would nod.
"Positive. Before it all went wrong, the world was a utopia." Velvet confirmed. "Everyone lived in peace and prosperity. Everyone was happy, safe and healthy. None of the problems that plagued the previous civilizations, nor the issues that would arise in the new universe that followed. It's a shame it all turned out like that. All because of Prisma snapping on that fateful day."
"If he hadn't, we wouldn't be in this situation right now and our daughter wouldn't be so dedicated to stopping him from coming back." Night Light would sigh. "Anyway, that is the short history. Now let's see about getting inside. I don't think we'll run into trouble, considering who we are."
"As far as our daughter is concerned, the two of us are on her side now that our souls have awoken." He would nod. "We just have to play it safe and not appear too suspicious. Sabotaging anything here is a massive risk."
"Hmph. That won't be an issue." Twilight Moonlight turned her head, narrowing her eyes. "If anyone gets in the way, I'll take them down. Simple as that." Despite her words, she did feel a small spark of worry. "Let's get a move on."
As the three of them began to make their approach, the first signs of life could be seen. Citizens of the city, both Pokémon and Equines, began to emerge from the buildings and walk the streets. Many of them were talking and laughing amongst themselves, while others were carrying various goods to and fro.
Each one of them were wearing a symbol on their chest, or an emblem on their body. Each of the citizens had the mark of the Supernation on their bodies, a clear indication of the fact that they were from the lost universe, and were now serving under the banner of Twilight Luminaria, the Queen of the Lost Universe.
Twilight Moonlight wouldn't bother disguising herself in any way, causing the residents to see just how similar she was to their Queen. Night Light and Twilight Velvet played it cool, knowing that their daughter wouldn't notice or care if she saw the two of them. They were the former king and queen of the Supernation's capitol, and their own soul's have awakened. So their presence was not unusual in the slightest, in the eyes of their daughter. As the trio passed, the citizens of the town stopped and stared, recognizing the duo of ponies and the mysterious Unicorn that bore a resemblance to the Queen.
The trio were walking through the main road of the city, passing by the large, tall buildings that made up the majority of the skyline. While the city may have appeared to be a metropolis in its design and layout, the architecture was distinctly reminiscent of a mixture of a medieval and modern style. Everything was a perfect mix of the old and the new, a beautiful combination that was both pleasing to the eye and functional. From the high towers and spires to the wide open spaces, everything in the city was designed to accommodate a variety of needs. There were even some shops that catered specifically to the magical needs of the population, offering a range of magical items and services that could not be found anywhere else.
Speaking of magical items, Unilight, without a doubt, had the best selection available. Since the city had been revived and restored, all the items that once belonged in the lost universe was brought back. Thus, the best products on the market were the ones you could find in this city, the most expensive of which could cost thousands of Bits or PokeDollars. Perhaps more.
As such, the most powerful items were now available to the public and those that once sold these items would approach the stores they used to own, the memories all coming back to them. Twilight Moonlight stopped for a while to look at these items while Night Light and Velvet kept going. "I'll need some of these."
To achieve her goal, Twilight Moonlight decided to do some shopping, attempting to see what powerful items she can get her hooves on. What she needed to do was to find something that could give her the edge. Something that would make her stand out. She looked around, searching the shelves and the displays for the right thing.
Near Ponyville. Unilight Palace.
The only thing missing from Unilight was the palace itself. It was still near Ponyville and soon, it would serve its purpose again. Speaking of which, Brock and Zero had dealt with the six Pixies, defeating them and having them restrained. In this case, Zero had contained the six of them within a bottle, trapping them inside.
"Let us out! Let us out now!" Magic would aggressively and angrily yell, rapidly moving inside of the bottle. This was a very humiliating moment, especially since Brock and Zero found a way to defeat them despite their amazing magic. It was all thanks to Zero's Rift Magic. Which it failed the first time, the second time did the trick. In fact, it was the Rift Magic preventing them from using their magic at the moment. "Our Queen needs us!"
"Speaking of which, it's time for us to catch up." Zero said to Brock. "There's only one place we have to go. Since Twilight Luminaria's back, she'll be chasing after Ash and the others. I'm not sure we can reach them first."
"No. But we can count on everyone else. Right now, Ash, Red and the others should be able to find their remaining counterparts easily. Once all 10 of them are together, it'll make things easier for us. Let's hurry."
The duo would leave the palace as Zero would find a place to keep the pixies hidden, and then, the two would quickly begin to catch up everyone else.
All of Ponyville's residents, along with those that came to visit Unilight, were already on their way, knowing what they had to do. They were being led by Harmony, who would show them the way to Unilight, which obviously wasn't that hard to miss. Not only was near Canterlot, but it was so disgustingly massive that even when not within the vicinity of Canterlot, it could be seen all the way from Ponyville, no matter how far away the latter location was.
"The size of that thing!" Rainbow Dash's jaw would drop as she and everyone else were on the train to Canterlot, viewing the city of Unilight from the windows.
"Do you think we'll find Twilight there?" Fluttershy asked. She and Pinkie Pie managed to join in, having been the first to see Twilight Luminaria awaken before their every eyes.
"No other place. Even without the palace, Unilight has far too much to offer." Harmony answered. "It's only a matter of time until my queen brings the palace back to the city itself. Then everything will return to normal. Well, in her terms that is." The Alicorn would say. "You're looking at the Supernation's capitol, everyone. The home of the original Twilight and the most prosperous and wealthy city to ever exist. Imagine that, the whole world was connected to that one city. Isn't that great?"
"So what's the plan? How do we snap Twilight out of it? I'm not sure I'm ready to hurt her..." Pinkie Pie muttered.
"That's where Azurelia comes in. She managed to soothe the souls of everyone after all." Harmony brought everyone's attention to Azurelia. "If anyone can bring Twilight to her senses, it's her. It's the only thing that worked on me and the rest of the town. If that didn't work, I'd suggest we just go straight to battle, though that's probably a bad idea considering the amount of resources that are currently in her possession."
"I'll try my best." Azurelia spoke. "If I can use my magic on everyone that's been turned, I can bring them back to normal . I don't think it will be too much of an issue for me to pull it off. All I need to do is ensure my magic will reach every-"
Before Azurelia could finish, the train would shake. Each of the carriages trembled, causing everyone inside to gasp and stagger. "What was that!?!" Applejack yelled as she regained her balance. "Is this some sort of attack!?"
"Look!" Roseluck brought everyone's attention to the reason for this sudden stagger. Outside, targeting the train and rapidly moving across the landscape was none other than the Fairy Matter itself. The pink energy would surround the train, slowly but surely approaching from the front, to the rear.
The Fairy Matter threatened to stop them, already knowing what they were planning. After all, it was a strong part of Twilight Luminaria, so it always had her best interests in mind. And the heroes had a lot of people on board. Everyone had boarded the train, including many of the people from the village that were once a part of Unilight in the Lost Universe. So naturally, the Fairy Matter wanted to protect the queen, and would not let anyone threaten her or her empire.
It was threatening to destroy the train, and the tracks. It wasn't long before the wheels of the carriage would begin to bend, the metal melting and the entire vehicle tilting.
"!!" Big Mac was the first to notice the melting tracks, his eyes expanding.
"Ugh! I've never been that much of a fan of this Fairy Matter!" Rarity said, taking out a Poke Ball. "Harmony! Could you open the carriage?!"
"Mhm!" Harmony would do just that, using her magic on the roof of the carriage. She would create a dimensional hole that would lead to the outside. Once it was available, Harmony then used her magic to send Rarity through the hole, allowing her to confront the Fairy Matter.
Once outside, she threw the Poke Ball up into the air, summoning one of her 12 Leavanny for assistance. "Leavanny!"
"Use Energy Ball!"
"Leavan!" The Bug-Grass type would hold its arms out, charging a ball of verdant and viridescent green energy in its leaf hands before firing a direct shot at the Fairy Matter, managing to blast the substance and temporarily clear it away. However, the Fairy Matter would clash with the Energy Ball, throwing itself against the attack.
Upon contact, it would consume the Energy Ball, converting its Grass Energy into Fairy Energy, and redirecting it back at the train in a form of a beam, piercing the side of the vehicle. Fortunately, the opening was made in the middle of an empty space, not hurting anyone in the process. "Eek!"
Saving them was Mew, who teleported out of the train to use Aura Sphere. "Mew!" He cried out, forming an Aura Sphere in front of him before launching it. The Aura Sphere struck the Fairy Matter, causing it to explode in a series of colorful sparks. This was not the end, however, and the Fairy Matter would fly at the Legendary Pokémon. Mew would be forced to dodge, flying away to avoid the attack. His attempt to strike the Fairy Matter would cause him to get hit, knocking him through the air. "M-Mew!"
Afterwards, the Fairy Matter would manifest spheres of Fairy-Type Energy, each of them floating in the air. The orbs would start raining down on the train, creating several explosions. Each blast would tear the earth around the train. Rocks would launch upwards, and the ground would crack.
Seeing this, Big Mac would have his Machamp deal with this issue. Machamp was sent out of his Poke Ball, leaping through the hole and landing right outside. "Champ! Machamp!" Upon descending, Machamp would start running as fast as possible. His job was to prevent the train from going off course, and so, he did what he had to in order to do his task. He would grab the sides of the carriage, lifting the vehicle above the ground, making sure it was balanced and would not fall over. "Ma!"
Noticing this, the Fairy Matter would spread its energy out some more. It would attempt to cover the entirety of the carriage, sending the entire contraption crashing to the floor. However, Machamp would not falter, and instead of letting that happen, he would continue holding the train up. "Machamp!" With his strength, the muscular Pokémon would leap from the spot, carrying the entire train over his head. He would not allow the Fairy Matter to harm the locomotive, ensuring the safety of the passengers and the heroes. "Machamp!"
Using his lower arms, he would clap the two of them together, causing a shockwave to try and push the Fairy Matter away. Unfortunately, the force of the blow would not deter the pink substance, and it would lash out again, wrapping its tendrils around Machamp's body, his waist in particular.
"C-Champ?!" Machamp would struggle to free himself, his arms still clutching onto the train
"At this rate, we won't reach the city in time..." Mayor Mare narrowed her eyes, taking out one of her Poke Balls. "We'll need all the assistance possible...so I'm counting on you! Honchkrow!"
"Honchkrow!" He emerged from the Poke Ball.
"Alright, Honchkrow. There's one thing you need to do for me. I think you know what it is." She said to him.
"Honch." The Big Boss Pokemon smirked, already on the same page. TO think that he and Mayor Mare used to be enemies, rivals even. Now, they were on the same team, working as a unit.
Honchkrow flew through the hole, ascending into the air. But he wasn't there to attack. Instead, Honchkrow would do what he does best. Rely on his goons. "Honchkrow!" Letting out a powerful cry, he called for help, alerting his minions to his presence. Since the train wasn't that far from Ponyville and other areas near it, only 19 minutes away, his cry would reach the Murkrow.
All across Saddle Lake, White Tail Wood, the Everfree Forest, Lapras Lake and so on, each of the Murkrow heard the cry of their boss and knew what they had to do. Come to his aid and deal with those that bothered him.
Soon, a swarm of Murkrows took flight, their numbers reaching 300. They began to take off, flying in the direction of the cries. They were quick, and in a few minutes, they would appear, coming to the aid of their boss. In an instant, the Murkrow would come to Honchkrow's side, joining him in the sky. "Murkrow!"
"Honch!" Honchkrow pointed his wing at the Fairy Matter. At once, his command was given and the Murkrow understood. Their target was the Fairy Matter, and to stop it from pursuing the train. As one, the group of Murkrow would dive-bomb at the Fairy Matter, their attacks striking the magical essence. Some of the Murkrow would unleash their Shadow Balls, while others would use their wings to strike the Fairy Matter, trying to knock it back.
The Fairy Matter would retaliate, of course, and lashing out, the energy would shoot its tendrils at the birds, knocking a few dozen of them from the sky, before continuing its assault on the train. It would wrap its energy around the carriage, crushing the metal, ripping and bending the material. The vehicle would groan, the bolts popping and the windows shattering. More and more, the train was being torn apart, the wheels starting to fall from the locomotive and the carriages. Machamp would not let the Fairy Matter have its way, and he would slam the train onto the ground. With the momentum, the train would slide forward, the rails cracking. "Hmmmph!" Machamp would leap back in, rejoining his trainer.
"This is getting ridiculous!" Trixie growled, her coat and mane frizzling. The destruction of the train was not helping the situation. Already, the walls were starting to break and the ceiling was falling in. "We're almost to Canterlot, aren't we?!"
Mayor Mare nodded, her eyes narrowed. "Yes, but at this rate, we'll all be hurt or worse before we make it there! I'm counting on you all! Honchkrow! Murkrow!"
"Ash..." Right now, Applejack thought about Ash and where he and his counterparts were at the moment, hoping they were safe. However, it seemed that the Fairy Matter was not the only massive issue they had to deal with.
A grandiose roar could be heard in the distance, not too far from here. It was loud and deafening, and the noise would reverberate through the area. The sound of a monstrous creature would echo throughout the landscape, its voice booming. Its call was a warning, and its presence was enough to put the whole group on edge. Hearing this, the heroes froze, their attention turning towards the source of the sound. The very air shook in response to its call, and the land trembled in fear.
What they ended up seeing was none other than a Monstrified Talonflame. Thanks to Professor Grogar, another Pokemon had been turned into a monster, its body now perpetually ablaze with black and orange flames. Its wings leave fiery trails in the air, and its cry is hauntingly beautiful. It was now the size of a building with this new appearance.
"I-Is that a Talonflame...?!" Sweetie Drops asked, her eyes widened in horror. Everyone witnessed a Monstrous Pokemon for the first time, done by Grogar. And since Grogar was behind it, it was naturally in allegiance with Twilight Luminaria, who is allied to the Arcane Institute. That was a frightening discovery. What was worse was that the bird was heading straight for them, its wings beating rapidly.
As the phoenix-like avian approached, its flames would start burning the nearby trees, the grass, the leaves. Anything that was touched by its heat would burst into flame. The fire would spread quickly, the flames licking at the trees and the ground. In moments, a great blaze would engulf the forest and the surrounding countryside.
Little did they know, this was not the only Monstrified Pokemon they would have to deal with. Not by a long shot.
As the journey continues.
