My Little Pokémon: Grander World
Joyless Future

Appearing before them all was a Talonflame and its monstrous, phoenix-life form. Grogar had turned another Pokemon into a monster. Upon arriving, it would already rain destruction.
Thankfully, they were close to the city, so the amount of vegetation that could catch fire was limited. Still, the fires were spreading, and the party was trapped within the raging inferno. The Talonflame would flap its flaming wings, and the winds would whip the fire into a frenzy. It would circle the area, its feathers glowing red and its tail flickering in a terrifying manner. With a fierce shriek, the Monstrified Pokemon would swoop down and fly over the train, its claws outstretched.
"TALON!"
"Champ?!" Machamp gasped as Talon Flame flapped its wings, sending fire balls raining down from above. The train would soon be showered in the blazing flames, the iron and wood would start melting from the sheer heat and the metal would start to bend.
Mayor Mare and the rest of her friends would have no choice but to shield themselves from the fire. But luckily, Machamp was able to block the flames, his hands acting as a shield. However, the flames would burn his skin, his hands scorched and his arms aching from the pain. His legs would give way, and he'd collapse, his breathing ragged and his face twisted in agony. Despite his strength, the giant could not withstand the intensity of the flames. "M-Ma..." Machamp was down, and there was no one else to protect the train. If the Fairy Matter and the Monstrous Talonflame were to keep attacking the vehicle, then surely it would be destroyed.
"Mew! Psychic!" Pinkie Pie hollered from within the train, her voice reaching Mew.
"Mew-Mew!" Mew's eyes lit up, and he focused on the Fairy Matter and the Talonflame, raising his paws. A pink aura would surround her, and her mind would reach out to his targets, connecting his consciousness to theirs. His powers of psychic energy would flow from his body to the Fairy Matter and the Monstrified Bird, and he'd begin to influence their minds, manipulating their thoughts.
The Fairy Matter's tendrils would slow, and the Monstrified Talonflame would stop in mid-air. Suddenly, the two would stop their attack, and their focus would shift to Mew, their eyes turning a shade of blue. He was controlling their actions, and the Fairy Matter would retreat from the train, and the Monstrified Talonflame would ascend higher into the air.
"TALONFLAME!" However, Talonflame had the power to resist it. From its body, waves of intense heat were radiating, the temperature rising. The Monstrified Pokemon's flames would intensify, and its eyes would change to a deep orange and yellow color. It would struggle against the psychic control, and its wings would beat faster. The fairy matter would lash at Mew, forcing the Mythical Pokemon to let go of his control and for the Fairy Matter to regain its freedom.
Now freed, the Fairy Matter would turn its attention to the train. This time, it was going to end it. It would move quickly, and its tendrils would extend, wrapping around the train. At the same time, the Monstrified Talonflame would continue its fiery assault, its wings causing the fire to spread, the flames growing stronger. Soon, the entire scene was filled with the sound of crackling embers and the smell of smoke. The party would have to escape, and fast.
"Everypony, out, now!" Mayor Mare commanded. However, the Fairy Matter had used its power to seal all possible exits, preventing anyone from leaving the vehicle. They were trapped, and the flames would grow closer, the heat becoming unbearable. They could only hope that Honchkrow and his flock would come to their rescue.
As the Monstrified Pokemon continued its onslaught, the group would find themselves in a precarious situation. The Fairy Matter was keeping the Murkrows from approaching, while the fire was encroaching on the train, and they were running out of options.
"It's...so hot..." A pony said, feeling the punishing heat.
"M-Milotic...! Froslass!" Rarity groaned while beginning to sweat, using her magic to take out two Poke Balls. Both Pokemon would pop out, and without much hesitation, Froslass would create a thick sheet of ice to block the doors, and Milotic would use Hydro Pump, spraying water everywhere. It wouldn't do much, but at least the fires were less severe.
"Thank you, dear. You really are a gem, just like me." She praised while breathing heavily. Froslass rolled her eyes and snorted, floating away to the ceiling, ready to try and freeze everything. Milotic coiled herself, staring at the door, hissing slightly. She could tell this wouldn't last long. Even with Machamp holding the attacks at bay, the Talonflame was still too strong and the Fairy Matter was a nuisance.
"M-Ma!" At this rate, Machamp wouldn't be able to hold them off any longer.
Froslass along with other Pokemon from the Trainers that could fly would emerge from the dimensional hole, and would aid in trying to freeze the flames. While some of the passengers would try to help Machamp, others would try to put out the fires. It would prove to be a difficult task, as the flames were consuming the train, and the Fairy Matter would not relent, even if the Murkrow would distract the Fairy Matter.
However, it seemed that the Talonflame was not on the only Monstrified Pokemon they had to deal with. Unfortunately for them, another one would appear over the horizon, standing on top of a hill.
The Pokemon in question was a Gothitelle, which now appeared as a towering, dark purple and grey figure. It would hover above the ground, its long, elegant gown-like dress fluttering in the wind. Its arms were slender and graceful, its fingers delicate and tipped in a pale, ghostly light. Its face was concealed behind a black, featureless mask, a single eye in the center of the mask glowing a bright, having a green colouring.
From the waist down, its body was elongated and thin, forming into a pointed, wispy tail that floated gently behind it. Floating next to the creature were multiple, large, crystaline cubes that would float around her in a circular formation. They were made of a strange, transparent material. Each of these cubes would hum and pulsate in time with the creature's movements, creating a haunting rhythm that echoed through the sky. The Monstrified Pokemon would remain still, as if watching and waiting, its gaze fixed on the fleeing train.
As the monstrous Pokémon hovered, the cube's would emit a pulsing, violet-black energy, their surface vibrating with an eerie, humming noise. Slowly, the creatures would begin to rise, their bodies lifting off the ground and hovering in the air. The energy would continue to build, the humming growing louder and more intense, until, suddenly, the cubes would unleash a soothing sound and energy that washed over the train, enveloping everything within a certain radius in a bubble of peace.
"Ngh..." Everyone was starting to fall asleep, their eyelids drooping. Some would pass out on the floor, the tranquil aura putting them to sleep. Not even the Pokemon were spared, being affected by the tranquil effect of the Hypnosis. As the train continued to speed along the tracks, the Monstrified Gothitelle would follow, its form casting an ominous shadow on the landscape below. The hypnosis would continue to wash over the group.
And so would the others, the Pokemon included. Soon, the whole party would be in a dreamlike state, the Monstrified Gothitelle continuing to lead the way, the train moving at a slower pace, the lights dimming and flickering. Only a few would remain awake, those who could resist the Hypnosis. Mew was barely able to resist the effects of the spell, his psychic abilities helping him to keep alert, but he was not immune, and would fall under the trance of the hypnosis, his movements slowing and his eyes closing. He was in a deep, peaceful slumber, unaware of the danger that was lurking outside the train.
Soon, everyone fell asleep, silence filling the area. As the train would come to a slow crawl, stopping at the station. The Fairy Matter and the Monstrified Talonflame would stop their assault, the bird pokemon perching on top of the roof, looking down at the passengers. With the passengers incapacitated, the two would proceed to make their move, the fairy type making the first move, its body entering the train and making its way to the very back where the targets were, the Pokemon following closely behind, landing inside the car and folding its wings. Once the two were there, they would stand guard, the Fairy Matter's tendrils reaching for the unconscious forms of them all and pulling them close, wrapping around them, its intentions unknown. The Monstrified Talonflame would simply look on, observing the scene.
Now that they were all asleep, the Fairy Matter would encase them all in pods made out of its energy. One by one, each of the passengers would be enclosed in their own personal prison.
Unilight.
Meanwhile, at Unilight City, Twilight Luminaria found herself in one of the major libraries of the city. She had a book open before her, the pages filled with words and illustrations of various magical spells that she has already mastered. All she wanted was a spell that would help in the fall of Prisma. She already had her options, but the Queen had to be extra sure.
"Your Majesty. So far, I've turned at least 40 Pokemon into monsters. I've ordered them to keep a watch out for any members of One Light." Professor Grogar entered the library to inform the Queen of what happened. He had been busy turning more and more Pokemon into monstrosities to hunt the heroes. "How goes your research?"
"I already have all the magic I need to stop Prisma. But there are some things I have to prepare for. One such thing is Twilight Sparkle. Even though I've finally managed to awaken, this is still her body and her own soul is still within me. At any point, she could potentially find a way to fight back against me and retake her life." Luminaria explained.
"Oh. I didn't think about that. Her magic is a problem, isn't it? Not just her own natural magic, but the addition of Rift Magic..."
"Now that I'm back, I now know important souls are. I knew they were important for obvious reasons, but after our battle with Prisma and once everything reset, I realized that they are far more important than I ever imagined. The fact that Prisma was able to split his souls surprised me. I was honestly lucky to replicate that same spell to ensure I would return in some way as well."
Because of this, the books she had gathered were all about souls, whether the subject was possession or resurrection. However, she had a hard time finding exactly what she needed. There were many ways to get rid of a soul, or to take over the host's body, but none of these methods were permanent, and most of them could be easily reversed.
She was looking for a spell that could completely erase a soul from the world, and make sure it was gone forever. A method that would leave the target's body empty, ready to be taken by the caster. Something that could remove the original soul and replace it with a new one, without the old soul returning to reclaim its rightful place. It was a tall order, and one that had eluded her for a long time.
"If you're trying to expel her from her own body, I'll have to think of something. Perhaps we could use the power of the Fairy Matter. If I had a sample, then maybe I could come up with a device to extract the essence of her soul from her." Grogar suggested. That was when the professor's expression changed. "Speaking of which, how will we utilize the Soul Splitter if the princess is still alive?"
"If push comes to shove, we'll have to destroy her. She's that big of a threat. And to do that, we have to gather her and the rest of her counterparts. But that won't be enough, the Princess will have to be in the exact right spot and her soul must have no protection." Twilight replied. "But I hope it doesn't come to that." Then the Alicorn closed her eyes and sighed.
"Hrrmgh. She is still you after all. And I suppose you'd like for her to have a future after Prisma is defeated."
"...I don't know about that." But Twilight Luminaria wasn't so sure on that part. "After all, this is her friend I'm aiming to destroy. No matter what approach we take, it will end in the destruction of the 10 counterparts. Do you honestly think her future will be one of joy if Ash Ketchum was erased from existence and that she played a role in that?"
"Hm. Obviously not. I suppose in a way, we'll be doing her a favour. Maybe removing her soul and erasing her memories might be a good idea. Or, you could just permenantly replace her. Once all four halves of you are together, you will replace them all entirely, finally appearing as your true self."
"And rob them of their future as well? Grogar. I don't want them to be lost as well. Just Prisma. I can't bring myself to replace my reincarnations. I need to find a way to rectify that. So that I can live on and so will they. Although, I think only two of them will be able to live on with happiness in their hearts."
"Oh, yes. The human variant...What of her? Technically, she has the same potential as the main one, does she not? They're closer to each other than Twilight Wish or Twilight Moonlight." Grogar questioned.
"I doubt that she'll be too much of a problem. A while back, she ended up losing a vital part of her. Midnight Sparkle as she's known, was removed from her body, culling a huge chunk of her magic. Without that, her power's been halved. She's the least troublesome of them all. She-" Her words were cut off once she found something in the book. "Ah! That might work!"
"Have you found a solution to the problem?"
"Yes. It's something I've never seen before. But this is the perfect spell. I'm gonna need to see her face to face to cast it, and her own magic will become a factor in the spell. This can work. I'm going to need to make the necessary preparations." Twilight's horn began to glow, the alicorn beginning to levitate the books to put them back. "In the meantime, I need you to do something for me, Grogar. Right now, we don't have absolutely everything we need to stop Prisma. Do your best to try and negotiate with One Light, especially Princess Celestia, if you can."
Grogar nodded and exited the room. As he left, the alicorn queen watched him go, a determined look on her face. She was determined to find a way to fix the current situation. She had already found a few possibilities, and was sure that she would find the right one eventually. Until then, however, she was going to continue searching. And perhaps, she would also search for a solution to her own dilemma. After all, a lot was riding on her ability to solve the problem of her multiple selves.
Grogar entered the city's local lab, the home of his operations. He had a plan in mind, but he wasn't sure if it would work. If he had to convince Celestia, or at the very least, the others, that they had a better chance at succeeding in their goals, or even to just give them a bit of information, that could turn the tide in their favor. But that was obviously a nigh-impossible task.
In his room, he had many Pokemon lined up, captured from the wild during his trip here. He had done his best to keep them in their cages. Some of them were large, others small, and others looked pretty dangerous. They were a collection of different creatures, including a shiny Mismagius, a Luxray, a Tyrantrum, a Tangrowth, a Clawitzer and a Leavanny.
He planned to turn all of them into monsters, planning a massive Monster Pokemon Army to hunt the 4 Twilights, and the 10 Ash's. His goal was to create an army of monsters to serve the Queen.
"Negotiating with the Princess will be far too difficult. I'm willing to try, but I doubt she will come around. So, to prepare for the coming conflict, I will need an army of outstanding power. As many Pokemon as I can find...I will ensure that you are all perfect monsters who will guide the Queen to victory. Now, let's begin." Grogar laughed, initiating his powerful magic. The magic would flood the Pokemon's bodies with dark energies that would transform them.
One by one, the Pokemon were slowly transforming, their appearances changing to match that of the Dark types, the ones that were Dark-type were getting larger. Their bodies were expanding and becoming bulkier, their skin turning a darker shade of gray. Their eyes were glowing red and their fangs growing sharper, their claws lengthening and their tails elongating.
The transformation was a slow and agonizing process, the Pokemon screaming in pain, their voices echoing in the room. Their screams were muffled by the sound of the energy flowing through the air. The room was filled with the scent of blood, and the sounds of cracking bones. Eventually, the transformation was complete. Each and every Pokémon was transformed into a monster, and the cages that once held them were empty, the doors open and the locks broken. The door opened, and the monsters stepped out, their eyes glowing and their jaws wide open.
Alola.
Over at the Alola Region, the residents were trying to make sense of the newly materialized buildings that now suddenly exist in their region. These were strange and alien to everyone and no one has any recollection of their existence. The residents are confused and frightened, not knowing what to do or where to go. Some are trying to hide, while others are trying to figure out the best course of action.
But even more confusing was how some residents had awakened, losing their previous selves in the process. All of them had no recollection of the world before, having new names and personalities. No one was quite sure of how this came to be or if the appearance of the buildings had something to do with that. What was causing these sudden changes?
Among the awakened people, some were incredibly loyal to Twilight Luminaria. Since some of the Alola residents were apart of One Light, the awakened people already knew who to attack. It was pandemonium. The awakened Alola residents would not hesitate to fight the rest of the inhabitants, creating a battle between the original population and the new, brainwashed, citizens of the Island.
But at the same time, someone had arrived to the island. Or rather, a few individuals.
Standing over a hill, watching over the scenery were none other than Ash, Red, Ethan, Brendan, Lucas, the Spirit of Hilbert, Nate and Calem. They had arrived, witnessing the scenario up ahead. They were here to find one of the counterparts, but found this instead. To Ash, this was a confusing but horrible sight, to see everyone in the region against each other. But he already knew that the Arcane Institute had something to do with this. He was right about that, but it was technically Twilight Luminaria.
"Well, it'll be harder finding him in all of that chaos." Ethan said. "But we'll try anyway."
"We won't just try. We'll succeed." Nate adjusted his hat. "This is the first time we're all gonna battle as a unit, isn't it?"
"Sure is. Since we're such a big threat to the Arcane Institute, let's show them just how much of a threat we can be." Lucas said with a smile.
"Yeah." Ash would tighten his gloves, ready to get down there and spring into action. Each of them were prepared and so was Hilbert, even if he was a spirit. The Counterparts would be ready to battle as one, each of their collective strengths finally coming together as one, a force to truly reckon with.
As the journey continues.
