Against your Heroic Father

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

The Skies of Galar. Nightfall.

Professor Grogar had arrived along with Galaxy Master. The latter's arrival shook Ash to his core, seeing the fictional character made after his own father working alongside the Arcane Insitute. It was heartbreaking as Galaxy Master unleashed a bright star cluster.

Then, from the star cluster, would emerge a horde of Pokémon, each of them radiating a similar aura to that of Galaxy Master. He mainly summoned the Pokemon that could take flight since they were all still in the air. Ash just couldn't believe what was happening right now.

"Dad..." Ash lowered his head as Sci-Twi saw his sadness. She knew that this was hurting him on another level.

"This is where our constant game of Cat and Mouse comes to an end." Grogar said as all of the opposing Pokemon began their attacks, rushing straight for the three legendaries. Reshiram, Zekrom and Metagross prepared themselves and their Trainers and friends for the battle.

The Pokémon were relentless in their assault. Their movements were precise and calculated, guided by an unseen force that drove them to attack without hesitation. The Dragon Duo and Metagross would start zooming away to the other direction, trying to escape the oncoming army of flying pokemon that were currently after them. However, no matter how fast they flew, the Pokémon remained hot on their tails.

Ash was still gutted by this, clenching his hands. "Dad..."

As he said that, suddenly, Reshiram's wings would be struck by a galactic light, causing him to cry out and nearly drop everyone. Galaxy Master managed to perfectly snipe and clip Reshiram's wings, making him lose his balance and nearly crash. But that wasn't the end of it. Following up on that snipe was Grogar's magic, manifesting large glowing masses of magic that would aggressively whip at the dou of Legendaries and Metagross.

They were launched downwards, spiralling to the ground and soon crashing into a large mountain range. Reshiram and Zekrom thankfully shielded them from harm, taking the brunt of the damage for themselves.

"Ugh..." Ash groaned, getting off Reshiram with Sci-Twi as a plethora of rocks would tumble and roll down from the mountains. Galaxy Master and the others descended, standing on the other side of this mountain. He was joined by the rest of the Pokémon, who were like drones, hovering behind their controller, awaiting their next directive. "Kh...!" Ash grit his teeth while looking at them. "You took my dad from me...You-"

"Oh, boohoo. He's not your real father anyways." Grogar taunted, smirking at him.

"You...!" Ash's rage was actually starting to manifest because of this. "You're gonna pay for this! I'm getting my dad back and I'm beating you!" Ash declared, pointing directly at Professor Grogar who was responsible for most of this. "You've made my friends worry a whole bunch...You even involved other universes and attacked them too."

"Ash..." Sci-Twi quietly said.

"Grogar...Even if you say sorry, there's no way I'm gonna forgive you for what you've done to everyone!"

"Hmph. Don't be so naive, boy. You have no idea the scope of the situation. We are not the villain in this scenario. We are simply the victims. Prisma is the true enemy here. It is his actions that have led to the loss of so many lives and the destruction of our home universe" Grogar retorted. "But, of course, why would you care? Your own selfish desires and ambitions have blinded you to the truth. You have no idea of the pain and suffering that Prisma has inflicted upon us. And yet, you have the audacity to blame us, to condemn us, when it is Prisma who is the root cause of all of this. You are the real threat."

"Enough of that!" Ash raised his voice, startling even Grogar. "I don't care if I'm a hero or villain...or anything else like that! But anyone who tries to hurt my friends is gonna pay!" Ash roared as he suddenly held out six Poke Balls in total, managing to take them all out. "Everyone! I choose you!"

In a flash of light, Incineroar, Lucario, Zoroark, Sirfetch'd, Donphan and Staraptor appeared, joining their trainer, ready to fight. On the other hand, Metagross, Reshiram and Zekrom were already ready to give their support once more.

Sci-Twi would do the same, supporting Ash all the way through. She knew for a fact that he will never be to blame for all of this. So for that, she would battle alongside her. "Out you come, everyone!" She would grab six of her Poke Balls as well, bringing forth her respective Pokemon. Alpha Pikachu, Alpha Rapidash, Alpha Dusknoir, Alpha Kirlia, Alpha Machoke and Alpha Luxio.

"Ash...If you don't want to take on Galaxy Master, that's fine. I-"

"It's alright, Twilight." Ash interrupted her. "I'll take him on. That's how I'm gonna snap him back to his senses. But...if Prisma starts to show himself in me...I'm counting on you to help, Twilight. Please."

"I promise." Sci-Twi responded, holding his hand.

"Your words bore me now. Get them!" Grogar ordered as Galaxy Master pointed forward, having his many Pokemon advance on the two of them and their teams. As the enemy Pokémon advanced on the heroes, the scene was set for a showdown in the mountains.

Pokemon from both sides went up against each other, battling in the sky and on the ground. A myriad of other attacks were instantly exchanged once they all went up against each other. Soon, the mountainous area was lit up with Infinity Energy. Blazing flames, crackling thunder and crashing waves. The list goes on.

"Grogar!" Ash was going straight for Grogar, running past the chaos that was occuring. However, standing in his way would be Tyranitar, attempting to grab him.

"Sir...Fetch'd!" Sirfetch'd would not allow such a thing. Using Meteor Assault, he would slam his leek down on the behemoth and send him tumbling back. He would stand before Ash and turn his head to look at him. "Sir." With a smile, he turned his attention to the battle, facing the Tyranitar once more.

Ash would continue to advance on Grogar who simply laughed at him, throwing masses of corrupted magical energy at him. Defending him from the attacks would be Pikachu, who used Thunderbolt to zap at them. "Pika!"

Closer and closer, they were reaching Grogar. "Zoroark, use Night Slash!"

But, there would be one individual who would truly stand in his way. Galaxy Master. He landed in front of Ash, blocking his path. "!" Ash came to a screeching halt along with Pikachu. "Dad..."

"..." He said nothing. Not even any of his boisterous words he loves to spout. Ash knew that right now, Galaxy Master was not in his right mind and talking to him wouldn't matter. The only way to get through to him is through battle.

"I wish I didn't have to battle you. Not like this. But...I will! If it means saving you, I'll do it! Even if you won't say anything, I'll keep calling you my dad until the end!"

"..." But he wasn't about to hear it. In his hand, he manifested a small cluster of stars before throwing them at Ash.

Chu...Pika!" Using Iron Tail, Pikachu would swing at the incoming attack, repelling the stars elsewhere, having them explode in different directions. Suddenly, jumping out of the smoke was Galaxy Master's own Pikachu, who went to use Iron Tail as well, surprising Ash's Pikachu. The two would clash Iron Tails directly, the two equal as they slid back in unison.

Galaxy Master would hold his arm out at him, manifesting a bigger star in his hand. He was about to throw it at him, but would be interrupted by the arrival of Zoroark, using Night Slash. This forced Galaxy Master to leap back and counterattack, using Psychic to restrain her in the air. "Ark! Rrrr...." She struggled, trying to get herself free, growling at him.

"Incineroar, Use Darkest Lariat!"

"Incine!" Incineroar rushed him, spinning around to try and hit him. However, Galaxy Master would vanish from the spot, confusing him. "Rah?" With Zoroark still in his grasp, he would telekinetically toss her at him. The two collided with one another, causing them to slide across the rocky terrain. "Cine...!" Incineroar shook his head, a bit bewildered.

"Pikachu! Use Quick Attack!"

"Pi! Pika!" Ash's Pikachu would become a blur, speeding at the foe. Galaxy Master was quick to act, holding his arms out and catching him. "Pika?!"

After grabbing him, he would throw Pikachu off into the distance. "Chaaaaaaa!!!"

"Pikachu!" Ash yelled, witnessing his best friend fly far. But he couldn't look away for a second. Not when he was being targeted. Galaxy Master would fly in, going straight for Ash with his hand reaching out. "!"

"Ca!" Saving his life was Lucario, who grabbed his wrist at the right moment. "Rrrr...!" While snarling at him, Lucario put his paw on his chest, using his Aura to push the fictional character away, forcing him to slide across the ground.

"Alright, Lucario! Nice save!" Ash praised him. Galaxy Master stood up tall mere seconds later, promptly placing his hand on the ground and not wasting a second whatsoever. By doing so, he would cover the ground in a galactic light, and soon enough, multiple stars emerged from the ground and floated in the air. Afterwards, they would begin to spin and encircle around the area. "Huh?"

"Lu?" What was he up to?

Suddenly, the stars fired themselves in the direction of the three of them. "Lucario! Use Aura Sphere!"

"Rrr!" Holding his paws out, Lucario formed the familiar sphere of Aura, preparing to shoot it at the stars. As a few of the stars got too close, the Aura Pokémon unleashed the blast and sent it to intercept. Upon the impact, a starry explosion was created, blinding the three. Once the smoke cleared, they didn't know what to expect. "Lu-ca...!" Suddenly, a Galaxy Master had formed a rope made out of stars, promptly throwing it at Lucario to lasso him and then pulling on him. "Arioooooo!!" Lucario's momentum had him tumbling to the ground and dragged closer to the hero.

"Lucario!" Taking the opportunity, Ash would rush to Lucario's aid. However, suddenly, multiple vines would wrap around his body and lift him up. All those with vines managed to restrain Ash. "Wha?! Hey, let me go!"

"Don!" A voice called out to him, coming from his Donphan. The Armor Pokémon had his trunk raised, summoning the rest of the vines to restrain him and pull him to the ground, attempting to stop him. At the same time, a few more of his Pokemon would run over to assist him, being his Reshiram and Zekrom. They were accompanied by his Staraptor and Metagross. Finally, his Lucario was able to break free from the lasso and joined his comrades.

"Ash! Let's try something!" Elio spoke through Ash, having something in mind. In fact, all of them had something in mind. "Now that we're one with you, I think now's a good time to use the extra souls in us."

"The extra souls? You mean-"

"Yeah. All the Pokemon souls we have." Brendan added. "We practiced with them for a moment like this after all. It's to keep us safe."

"...Yeah. You're right. But can it work the same with all of you within me?" Ash wondered.

"Hopefully. One thing's for sure. We'll use it to get your dad back." Calem stated. "I say we try and get in his mind and I think Red can help with that."

"Red? You can do that?"

"..." Red smiled. He was the last person Ash expected to be related to the mind in any way.

"Alright. I'm counting on you guys. Please!" Ash pleaded to his counterparts and they would answer. The first to try this out was Elio. He would take over Ash's body promptly, letting the extra soul within him flow. That being the soul of Solgaleo. Naturally, this meant that Elio's body heat was about to increase dramatically.

The heat of the Sun was starting to flow out of him. Already, the flames of Sol were burning bright, affecting the Pokemon near him. The Grass-Types, specifically Sceptile, Venasaur and Meganium that tried to restrain him with the vines earlier would feel the heat and would retreat.

Elio would increase the heat some more, using it as a means to cripple his opponents. Soon, the rocky terrain began to melt into magma. Some of the Pokemon started to sweat, unable to handle the high temperature. Seeing how this was effective, the other Trainers would start to join in on the fun, unleashing their own power.

The next one to unleash his soul was Brendan, and he was going to show everyone the might of Rayquaza. A powerful storm was beginning to form above, clouds gathering at an alarming rate. Lightning would begin to flash within the cloud and the winds picked up. Nearby trees and bushes were almost torn from their roots, the gust of wind that strong. Pokemon were even swept away, unable to stay grounded. This was a force to be reckoned with, the power of the storms of the Ozone layer, the very skies itself. And it was only the beginning.

"What is all of this?!" Grogar felt the heat as the lightning even struck him.

"Hoh yeah...This is more like it! It's actually way easier when we're all together as one!" Brendan laughed, bringing on more and more storms as he was starting to change the tide of the battle. The Pokemon on the opposing side, especially those in the air, were being thrown off balance by the sudden burst of winds. Many of the Flying-types were trying to avoid the lightning strikes that were occurring.

Galaxy Master put his arms up as his cape blew aggressively in the wind. He was not expecting this. Even he was struggling to hold himself up in the winds.

At the same time, Sci-Twi managed to bypass most of the Pokemon, going straight for Grogar herself. But standing in her way was Alpha, who spotted Sci-Twi. "That's as far as you go!" Alpha declared. "You won't lay a finger on Professor Grogar! It's just you and Twilight Moonlight left, and I'm not letting either of you win today!"

"In that case...maybe I won't go to Grogar yet. I can try my hand at you. That means bringing you back to normal." Sci-Twi said.

"Are you referring to Kimia? Abandon that at once." Alpha pointed to herself. "She is long gone. She is no longer needed. All you have now is just the appearance of her and nothing more. I am a Soul Clone, and that is it." she firmly stated. "So don't call me that name, because it won't work."

"So, you really are not her anymore. Is that true?" Sci-Twi asked.

"Absolutely. Even after this is all over, I will not relinquish the body of Kimia. None of the Soul Clones will. We will exist as our own beings, with our appearances being the only thing left of Kimia."

"But that's awful! You won't give her life back?! What about Raleigh?!"

"!" Once more, she flinched at that name before shaking her head.

"Oh? Ah!" Sci-Twi actually noticed the flinch, pointing at Kimia. "You flinched!"

"I did not!" But Alpha denied it, even if it was very much visible.

"You totally did! For you to react like that...there's a part of you that knows I'm right!" Sci-Twi smiled while Alpha's face turned red for a moment.

"Mmrgh...!" Alpha grumbled before thinking to herself. "What's going on? I should have had everything about Kimia's connection Raleigh removed. Why does the name bother me?"

"Then there's only one way to stop you! I need your help on this, Kirlia!"

"Kir!" Kirlia already knew what to do. She had to get in Alpha's mind. The Emotion Pokemon flew forward, already reaching for her. However, her superior, Alpha's Gardevoir, would be there to stop that. Using her Psychic, Kirlia was stopped in her tracks, floating in mid-air. "L-Liiirrr..."

"Kirlia!" Sci-Twi yelled.

Alpha would smirk. "If that was your plan, then we'll have to stop it before it happens. Besides, I know that trick. Sombra tried it previously and while he did manage to leave a lasting impact, my body has been augmented to endure another scenario such as that." she revealed. "Try all you want, you won't get the chance. Gardevoir! Flamethrower!"

"Garde!" In one hand, Gardevoir would begin the first attack, generating scarlet flames to burn the opponent. With a wave of her hand, the Embrace Pokemon unleashed the Flamethrower.

"Kirlia! Use Protect!"

"Lia!" Having to act on her own, Kirlia formed the green barrier that protected her from the oncoming fire, the flames instead spreading around the dome to incinerate her. Successfully stopping the flames, she dispersed the barrier.

"Dazzling Gleam!" In unison, Sci-Twi and Alpha spoke their attacks. Kirlia and Gardevoir both summoned a ball of sparkles and released a light pink beam at the other, meeting in the center to create a sparkly outburst. Unfortunately, due to the difference in strength between a Kirlia and a Gardevoir, the latter's Dazzling Gleam was stronger. As a result of the two colliding, the Dazzling Gleam was pushed back to hit the opposing side. Kirlia was knocked down by the blast, landing on her feet

"Overwhelm her! Use Shadow Ball!"

"Garde! Voir!" Gardevoir would approach Kirlia with a Shadow Ball, attempting to slam it down on her. Kirlia would narrowly avoid by levitating out of the way, the shadowy orb hitting the ground. At the same time, the Embrace Pokemon would appear in front of her to deliver a swift kick to the chest, knocking the wind out of her and send her flying back to her Trainer's arms. "Kiirl...lia..." Kirlia groaned.

"Flamethrower!"

"Garde...!" Gardevoir raised her hands, ready to spray devastating flames on Kirlia.

"Protect!"

"Lia!" Barely, Kirlia saved herself from the incoming flames by summoning another shield, protecting herself and Sci-Twi from harm. The fire was intense, burning hot and scalding, but luckily, the Protect was able to withstand it.

"Push it back with Psychic!"

"Kirlia!" Using Psychic on her own shield, she would shove the barrier into the Flamethrower, causing an explosive backfire to push the flames away from her. Gardevoir, seeing the oncoming burst of flames and the Protect, opted to move out of the way in a flash. She had to get to safety, lest she would be caught in the crossfire.

As the dust cleared, the area was covered in smoke, making the air hard to breathe in. Both Sci-Twi and Kirlia were forced to cough, trying to cover themselves from the ashes and soot in the air. When the dust finally cleared, they'd see a crater in the earth where the explosion occurred, the ground completely blackened. There was no sight of either of the two, meaning they must have moved somewhere else.

"Where did she go?" Sci-Twi looked around, searching frantically. "She wouldn't have backed out of the fight, that's for sure." Kirlia didn't say anything, looking around for the enemy, but her guard was up. If Gardevoir wasn't in the battlefield anymore, then chances were, she was going to strike from behind or the side. Sci-Twi had to brace herself, and so did her Pokemon. Now, the waiting game began, and the tension was starting to rise. Where was the next attack?

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around her, catching the girl off-guard. Alpha used her magic to appear behind the girl and was holding her in place. Sci-Twi gasped, feeling the embrace of her opponent, unable to move. She couldn't budge her arms, and her entire body was trapped in the girl's clutches. It was like her grip was made of metal, too strong to break. It was thanks to the fact that Alpha's entire being was made up hundreds and thousands of souls "Ngh! Gh!"

"Kir-" Kirlia noticed this, attempting to help her trainer. But Gardevoir soon reappeared, grabbing Kirlia as well, preventing her from moving.

"I have enough of you." Alpha hissed as shadows started flowing out of here. "I'm not playing this game anymore."

"Ah! Let go of me!" Sci-Twi squirmed, trying to release her from the grasp. But no matter how hard she struggled, the grip on her was tightening, and the pain was getting worse. Her bones were straining, and her body ached from the pressure. She couldn't even use her magic to free herself. "Grr!"

"You'll be consumed by shadows. And with it, the only one left will be Twilight Moonlight and victory will be ours. Prisma's defeat will be guaranteed."

The Shadows began wrapping around Sci-Twi's legs and slowly worked their way to the rest of her body. They twisted and coiled, squeezing the life out of her, and it was becoming unbearable. It felt like an eternity, and the darkness was closing in on her. Sci-Twi was helpless, struggling, and gasping for air, but nothing could stop the encroaching doom. Her eyes rolled back, and her vision grew dim.

However, something was keeping her in it still. That being the Arceus Pendant. When the shadows got close to the pendant, the Divine Light would faintly react, pushing some of the shadows back. Not a whole lot, but the littlest bit, enough to keep the wearer alive.

"That pendant...!" Alpha snarled at the pendant, trying to pry it off her. But when her fingers reached to touch it, a small jolt of electricity would shock her, forcing her to recoil her hand. "Ngh!"

But even if the pendant protected her to that extent, it couldn't prevent Alpha restraining Sci-Twi. Not while the wearer herself was unable to harness the rest of its power while being held back. But Arceus wasn't the only one helping her. She had others who came to her aid.

From her bag, a Poke Ball would open as the Pokemon inside would force its way out. That was none other than Hisuian Zorua. Normally, she'd be too afraid to do anything in a scenario like this and she was very much afraid to the core. But with Sci-Twi's life on the line, she mustered up the courage to take action.

"Twilight!" She screamed her name, suddenly landing on Alpha's face. This sudden blindside caused her to loosen her grip on her Trainer and allowing the girl to escape her grasp. Sci-Twi fell to the ground, panting in relief. She was safe. For now, at least.

"Get off me, you...AAAGH!" Alpha growled, attempting to tear the Pokemon from her face. Zorua was latched onto her face tightly, her claws sinking in to keep her in place. Alpha's attempts to remove her proved fruitless, no matter how many times she tried. Zorua was resilient, refusing to let her go and ensuring she kept her in place.

"Garde?!" Gardevoir noticed this, wanting to take action. And that led to Kirlia managing to break free once her attention was elsewhere.

"Kir...LIA!" She used a massive Dazzling Gleam, sending a large outburst of rainbows from her body. The light would reach her opponent, blasting them and covering the area in a rainbow-colored dust. Once the sparkles cleared, Gardevoir was sent flying away at a far distance, screaming along the way.

Sci-Twi got on one knee after finally breaking free from Alpha's hold thanks to Zorua. As for Zorua, Alpha would grab the Hisuian Variant, throwing her away.

"Get off!" She roared as Zorua's back would hit the side of a wall, the Hisuian Variant yelping in pain.

"Zorua!" Sci-Twi's eyes widened in shock at witnessing this, Zorua's body falling flat on the ground, knocked unconscious from the blow. And with that shock came anger, her eyes narrowing. She had enough of Alpha and her ways. It was one thing to bring this much distress to Ash. To see Zorua like that only elevated it further. Very few times does Sci-Twi get mad and this was one of those times.

"Ugh..." Alpha held her face, still feeling the scratches from Zorua.

"You say that I can't bring Kimia back...We'll see about that!" Sci-Twi's voice was far more aggressive than before as she would begin the process to try and bring Kimia back. But she wouldn't have Kirlia do it. Instead, she would do it herself. She gripped the Arceus Pendant, her entire body beginning to glow in a bright yellow light, the same that would surround the pendant. "Princess Celestia said that magic is a aprt of me...I don't need Midnight Sparkle...i just need myself...I'll get in your head and free her!"

Thanks to Celestia's lesson, she was able to harness her magic in tandem with the Arceus Pendant. A divine light would shoot forth, reaching towards Alpha. Her soul would be enveloped in that same light, and she would feel her mind being invaded. Sci-Twi was entering her thoughts, her memories and her emotions.

Alpha screamed as she felt her body being connected to Sci-Twi's. And now, Sci-Twi would get a good look into everything that made up Alpha, just like how Sombra did. But this time, she intended to bring an end to this Soul Clone.

As the journey continues.
