Interlude: Visiting the Forge

Xigbar found that Sombra's allies were lightly surprised by his arrival and the arrival of the Foretellers, people that none of them had known about since no one had told them about Ava's group, rather it looked like they were expecting her to find more allies and weren't even remotely caught off guard by his arrival. Despite the fact that he initially decided to depart from this world and join Xehanort, which had been part of the plan from the beginning, he found that Xemnas and the rest of the Nobodies that had made up the Organization were glad to have him back among their ranks. Of course some were caught off guard by the fact that he had a Keyblade, that was harder to hide than he thought it would be, but they sensed that he had a reason and told him that he would be weaving the tale for them in the future, since some were interested in his past and what he had done. He figured it was a small price to pay in the end, because Xemnas and the others could have treated him differently after realizing he intended to join Xehanort, but it seemed like Tenebris' existence had changed things, a fact he knew well enough since Sombra's older brother had forced his hand as well.

Such a thing also brought about a discovery he hadn't considered before this point, Sombra was a great chef, her food was beyond what he was expecting from someone like her, and even the Foretellers, who hadn't had a meal in some time, were surprised by how good the meal was.

"You know, Luxu, it's good to have you on our side." Demyx commented, though as he said that he tore into the blueberry pie that had been placed on the table, extracting a portion of it for himself while leaving plenty for the others, because he enjoyed Sombra's food far more than he was willing to admit.

"Demyx... how do you know that name?" Xigbar asked, because he had yet to actually tell anyone his true name, in fact he had asked his friends and his Master to let him tell the others this information, so Ava and the others had referred to him by the name that this version of him was known by.

"Right, I haven't told you the truth yet: I was actually the Master of Masters the entire time, but after Sombra liberated the Nobodies I became Prexus' Nobody." Demyx said, where his other self, the true Master of Masters, didn't even attempt to hide his name this time around, as if it was time for everyone to know his name, which Sombra felt made sense due to the fact that they were united under a single banner to stop her elder brother.

"And the answer to your next question is 'yes'. I've been watching over you since my 'disappearance', a watcher watching the watcher, in a sense." Prexus added, because he knew his apprentice enough to know when he was going to say something and already had a response prepared ahead of time, even though he knew that Luxu and the Foretellers would need some time to come to terms with everything he needed to tell them, "I also trolled you a little with the book that looked like the Book of Prophecies, just my way of having a little fun while making you refocus on the duty you were given... there were a number of things you could have done differently, Luxu, but you did well. Now, however, we must join forces and focus on stopping Tenebris from claiming the X-Blade and the power of Kingdom Hearts... and to do that we need the Runeblade, one of the three Ancient Weapons. If possible I'd love to add the Supreme Keyblade, also known as 'Ultima' by those who have carried it into battle, to our arsenal... courage and wisdom should do battle against power, after all."

Sombra listened to this with interest, because it sounded like each weapon was essentially unknown to the people for what they truly were, though while the Ultima seemed to be the most well known, since Prexus mentioned that there were others who had used it, the X-Blade was lesser known than the first and the Runeblade was virtually unknown. Prexus told them that this was intentional, because if it was known that there were three immensely powerful weapons out there, and not the one that people knew about, it would no doubt cause far more pain and suffering for the people of the World. Normally he would simply stand aside and just watch events unfold, but since Tenebris was likely going to steal the X-Blade as soon as Xehanort forged it, he was sure of that, Prexus knew that one or both of the other two were necessary to stop him, before Sombra's elder brother did something stupid. It was for that reason that he was going to have them visit the Keyblade Forge, which Mickey said was currently in the hands of the Moogles, the small while creatures that were merchants and item makers, though while Prexus didn't correct him, meaning there was more to his comment than what they knew, he did tell the group that a number of people had to come with them as well.

This caught Sombra's interest, especially since this was the first time Prexus had mentioned such a thing, and while the rest of the group talked she made sure she knew who needed to come with them, just so she knew who to talk to before they traveled to the Keyblade Forge.

Such a thing took a few days, as there were people that needed to be talked to and items that needed to be obtained, since Prexus knew the components required for this process, but when they were done Sora found that a large number of people and beings came to the Gummi Ship. He found that some of the people were Axel, Xion, Roxas, and pretty much the rest of the elemental bearers that existed among their forces, and some of the creatures in question were the likes of Tiamat and Lei Shen, beings of Darkness, wielders of the Light, and those stuck in-between. Sombra realized that this was every power in the World, every element that could be called upon, which made her wonder why Prexus wanted all of this, but he had put his trust in her and that meant she should trust him as well, which she did since he had no reason to betray her, not when her older brother was a threat to the World. Once everyone was together on the ship, and Sora was in the captains chair like usual, Prexus raised his hand for a moment and the air in front of the ship shifted, a portal in space opening for them, which Sora flew through without delay, only for them to reach an area that looked like Yen Sid's tower.

By that Sombra noticed that it was a large floating island in the middle of space, with a circular tower that was straight, like a pole she guessed, though she remained silent as Sora took them down to what appeared to be a landing area, allowing them to disembark without delay.

"Prexus... this isn't the normal Keyblade Forge." Mickey commented, as he had seen the forge in question and had visited it a few times in the past, and had been planning on visiting it to empower his own main Keyblade up for the war against their enemies, since Tenebris was beyond what they were expecting of a final villain.

"That's right, this one is far more special than a normal forge, since this one is connected to the energy of the world... know that this won't make one a god or anything, but it's needed for the Runeblade's spark." Prexus stated, though as the group entered the inside of the tower Sombra noticed that there was just a rectangular stone table in the center, while there was a ring around the outer edge and there were gemstones, in specific patterns, lining the walls, while the roof looked like one might be able to open it, "Sombra, if you would place your Keyblades on the platform we can begin. Everyone else, start preparing your powers... we'll have one chance at this."

Sombra understood what Prexus was talking about as she approached the central area, this entire tower was a conduit for all of the World's powers, as in the elements and both the Light and the Darkness, a font of magical energy that only Prexus knew the existence of and would no doubt erase it from their memories to keep Tenebris from learning about it. That told her that this was a way to supercharge the main two powers of the Runeblade, Light and Darkness, which caused her to quickly realize that they were merging her two Keyblades into a single entity, the third Ancient Weapon. As she placed both weapons on the conduit Sombra found that Prexus and Demyx approached the center of the tower, the former carrying a hammer infused with the Light and the latter having one infused with Darkness, fonts of the two energies. Both versions of the Master of Masters primed themselves before delivering powerful hammer strikes on both Keyblades, something that caused both to spark and shine for a moment, and when they backed away Prexus had Sombra raise the Light Keyblade first, which she did.

As she did that, however, Sora and the others who wielded the Light channeled their energy into the blade, which happened to manifest as a torrent of crackling light blue energy that turned golden, causing the blade to transform into what seemed to be a bolt of lightning that was infused with Light energy. Following that Tiamat and those who commanded Darkness did the same, releasing their elemental power on the Darkness Keyblade, dousing it in dark flames before it transformed into a flaming blade, giving her two transformed weapons in the span of a few minutes. Prexus and Demyx touched the walls for a moment as the ceiling opened, drawing in the elemental power of the World itself, which was when everyone else started to loose their powers into the center of the tower, something that was followed by a vortex of silver transparent energy just wrapping around the area that Sombra was standing in. In that instant Sombra realized that it was actually a vortex of fire, the flames of creation in a sense, where she called her own powers to the surface, her eyes emitting the light and dark mists again, before bringing the two elemental halves together in front of her.

Such a thing caused the center of the tower to explode, where Radiant protected everyone with her magic, though as the smoke cleared they found Demyx grinning, because as the smoke cleared they found Sombra holding a new weapon, one that seemed to be dark silver in color, like steel. Xigbar looked at it with shock on his face, because at a glance it looked like the Runeblade resembled the Gazing Eye, before he realized that he was mistaken, as the handle was the same color as the blade, in fact it was made of the same material, while the circular around around the handle looked to be thin dragon horns, yet the tips didn't connect to the base of the handle. The blade itself was like the blade of an actual sword, with jagged tips near the handle area, while the tip of the weapon ended in a point and didn't resemble an actual key like some of the other Keyblades, rather it reminded him of the crystalline tip of the X-Blade. They then found that a line of runes went down the center of the blade, hence why the Master of Masters called it the 'Runeblade', where the one near the handle, right below what appeared to be a design of a dragon's head, again like the Gazing Eye's goat head, had a faint light glow, then one with a faint dark glow, before repeating until it reached the seventh and final rune.

Everyone had to admit that the Runeblade was an impressive weapon, a Keyblade that rivaled the X-Blade, and Prexus also told Sombra of the power he knew about, where Sombra could actually think about it and cause it to take the forms of her two main weapons, and to recreate this powerful weapon she just had to lay the two on top of each other.

"It's a way to hide the weapon, in case you don't want to reveal the Runeblade's power before the big event." Prexus said, to which he found that Sombra nodded, it made sense when she thought about it, before he turned and faced the rest of the group, because while this was a massive jump in power for Sombra that meant the others would fall behind, "Radiant Hope, Fluttershy, I will do what I can to prepare you two and the others for the battles ahead of us... the World gave you powers, and it's time to fully awaken them."

Sombra smiled as she wondered what sort of powers her allies would gain before the big battle with her brother's forces, especially since it was overdue for them to learn new tricks and powers, though she found herself looking forward to what the future had to offer her and everyone else, since there was no telling what would happen in the days to come.
