War: Songs, Ice, and Darkness

After dealing with the dangers that were in the icy prison that Dark Larxene wanted to lock them inside, and collecting a fair number of hearts while doing so, the group found the exit portal and returned to the path, though Elsa was no longer in the area and that meant she was still climbing the mountain. With that in mind the group did what they did best, which was just cutting through the enemies that were in their way, which consisted of the Nocturnes, Flutterings, and more of the Popcats they had seen previously, the latter being discovered in large groups. From what everyone could see the Heartless seemed to be lost, or maybe they were just bored and were having some fun before they were pulled into the Keyblade War, but that didn't stop them from wiping the floor with the enemies that were in the way. Goofy even noticed that they were high up on the mountain, to the point that Arendelle and it's castle looked like they were so far away from this height, allowing them to just look out at the vastness of this world before worrying about what was ahead of them.

Eventually they reached what appeared to be the snowy peaks of the mountain, where the group paused for a moment as they heard Elsa's voice over the wind, her singing about 'snow glowing white' and 'no footprints to be seen', something that caused the Equestrians to chuckle as they continued towards the peak.

"This certainly feels like home." Fluttershy remarked, because it was just like Ponyville, she and the other ponies sang about all sorts of things, from the wrapping up of winter to what they would do at the gala, causing her to realize why Sombra and Radiant had made the comment when they first appeared on this world.

They followed the sound of Elsa singing, where she mentioned that this was a 'kingdom of isolation', that she happened to be it's 'queen', and all sorts of other things that made it clear she was keeping a bunch of emotions inside her, such as the 'swirling storm inside'. What was interesting was that Elsa let go of her other glove and let the wind take it, while letting out her powers for the first time, willingly Sombra noted, to the point that she made what appeared to be a little snowman, only to let go of her cape as well. Eventually she reached a turning point where Elsa started to use her power differently, where Sombra watched as she channeled her power and made a staircase made out of ice, forged from magical snow or frost, and when she reached the highest point of the peak that was when things got interesting. When Elsa brought her foot down in an area of the peak Sora and the others watched as an icy platform grew out of the ground, rather it was like she channeled her power down into the ground to make several pillars grow out around her before connecting into a platform, and that was followed by her weaving her power into an icy palace that was on the side of the mountain.

The Equestrians glanced at each other, as this was almost certainly like home with a place that was like Canterlot, and when Elsa emerged from the palace her attire had been transformed into an icy blue dress that seemed like something a princess or queen of ice would wear, and she had discarded the tiara.

"You know, despite being alone up here, it looks like Elsa is just fine." Sora commented, which was good since it appeared that Dark Larxene was just interested in observing her, instead of attacking her, meaning their influence in this world was going to be far lower than anything they had done in the past.

"What, aren't you worried about her?" a voice asked, where they found that Dark Larxene stepped out of a Dark Corridor, as she must have been observing Elsa from afar and decided to investigate their arrival, even though her eyes were resting on the icy palace that was near them, which was rather impressive from someone whose power was ice itself.

"Oh, we are... but you aren't a danger to her. We're looking for the darkness of this world to seek her out." Radiant replied, as that was the truth, the members of Tenebris' dark forces weren't interested in the Guardians of Light, rather they were just killing time while they waited for the countdown to finish so they could engage in the war for the fate of the World, "Once we take care of that darkness we'll be on our way... isn't that what you want?"

"Honestly, I don't know anymore and I really don't care... Tenebris said we could do whatever we wanted, and that is what I'm doing before he claims the X-Blade and Kingdom Hearts." Dark Larxene stated, her tone telling them that, just like her dark ally on Rapunzel's world, she really didn't care about the overall plot that she would have followed had Xehanort been in control of everything, before she thought about something, "Actually, I don't care who wins, I just want to have some fun before the winner is decided."

"And speaking of 'fun', why don't you have some?" another familiar voice remarked, where Sombra and the others had just a second to realize that it was Young Xehanort speaking, a prick that none of them liked at all, before time shuddered and they fell through the air, dropping down into the snow below them.

"By the World, I'm starting to absolutely despise that boy." Sombra stated, though at the same time she held out her hands as she formed a number of snowboards out of ice, allowing all of them to grab onto one before she made sure they safely landed on the snow, which in turn allowed them to start sliding down the mountain side, "We skipped through time again... a few minutes this time, sure, but Young Xehanort doesn't seem to be aware of the damage he's doing to the World. At this rate Tenebris is going to break something..."

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound behind them, where they found that an avalanche was happening, which was being caused by a few snowy Heartless dragons, a trio of 'Frost Serpents' Sombra guessed, so the first order of business for the group was to outpace the avalanche. One thing they discovered was that the Frost Serpents would fire beams of frost at them, which everyone had to avoid, though at the same time everyone focused on maneuvering around with their new toys, because while none of them actually knew how to use the snowboards they were learning on the fly. The Equestrians also found areas to use their magic in, opening holes in the ground to force a bit of the snow inside, plus there was the caves all of them passed through that allowed them to cut down the amount of snow that was following after them. It was a very interesting time for the group, since no one had been expecting such a thing and they were fine with some variety, and the moment they landed in a clearing, that wasn't being covered in snow, the group turned and fought the Frost Serpents.

The frost serpents weren't that hard to deal with, where the group found that they attacked with gusts of freezing wind and the beam attacks, though Sombra was glad they were able to bring them down, because every heart captured meant one less that would be used against them in the final battle.

After that time skipped again, this time ending in them laying on the snow in another location, causing Sombra to groan as she realized that things were definitely getting worse for the World is this was starting to become a common occurrence, only this time it looked like the snowman from before was talking and walking. Such a thing was followed by them following it, since the creature was connected to Elsa and might have news for them, while Sora was interested in the magic that had caused it to come alive like this, but as they caught up with the snowman they found two other people with it. One was a girl that was around Elsa's age, wearing protective snow gear and had orange braided hair with a sliver of Elsa's hair color in part of it, while the other was a young man who was also wearing winter gear, which made sense given the mountain area that they were currently climbing. There was even a reindeer with them, which seemed to be the male's animal companion, and the group of four was surprised to see that there was another group wandering around the mountain, without the proper attire no less.

The girl introduced herself as Anna and that she was Elsa's sister, the snowman was Olaf, her escort was Kristoff, and the reindeer was Sven, and she, just like Elsa, sang a little while getting a point of hers across while Kristoff lead the snowman away for a time, allowing them to see that Anna and Elsa were estranged sisters. Sombra realized that it had something to do with Elsa's ice powers, she didn't want to hurt her sister, which had to be why Anna had the icy piece in her hair, but the conversation was ultimately cut short as Kristoff told them that Olaf was in pieces. None of them were very surprised by this discovery, and Anna told them that if they found his parts they would be able to put him back together, though that was just a simple thing for the group, Sombra carefully used her time powers to track down where each piece had landed and sent the others to recover them. Fluttershy and the others tracked down the pieces with ease, confirming that this was far too easy for them, though while Olaf didn't have his nose it was revealed that Sven had slipped it into his mouth, causing his handler to retrieve it from the reindeer, who acted like the animal was responding to his words.

As the group gathered together again, and the group of four started to climb the mountain on their own, everyone felt the now familiar tug of time magic as they were yanked around again, this time appearing outside Elsa's palace where a giant evil snowman was hurling Anna and Kristoff away from the palace.

"What the..?" Sora asked, just in time for them to go sideways as they were yanked through time again, this time landing in an area that looked like a forest area covered in snow, with the brutal looking snowman raging in front of them, though as he and the others regained themselves time shifted again.

"What's going on?" Vanitas remarked, where this time around they landed in what appeared to be an area that was in the middle of a snow storm that was covering the entire kingdom, or at least everything that was near the castle, just in time for them to witness Anna turn into an ice statue as she protected her sister from being cut down.

The shockwave caused the prince with the sword to be sent flying backwards as he hit his head on the ground, which also caused the darkness inside him to surge outwards, warping all of them into a world that seemed to be far away from the rest of Arendelle, and the larger snowman was with them for some reason. The dark mass transformed into a white wolf that was floating, even though it looked like the head and front paws, with darkness forming the body, causing Fluttershy to call it 'Skoll' as she picked herself up and summoned her weapon, which the others did as well. All Sombra could tell was that the meddling of Young Xehanort and Tenebris, in relation to the time line, had cracked something and for some reason they had experienced it on this world in particular, which was just a symptom of the problem the World had. They had to take down the ones responsible for this damage, but to do that they had to finish checking the rest of the worlds that were important to the World this time around, before engaging in the final Keyblade War.

"It's Young Xehanort, he's screwing with time again... it's like he's testing how much strain the time line can take." Sombra said, though at the same time she and the others looked at Skoll for a moment before getting ready, this was the pressing matter for them to worry about, because if it got out of the dark prison they were in she knew that it would cause chaos in Arendelle, and whatever worlds it traveled to.

"Let's get it!" Donald stated, because he was tired of the time tampering and them skipping through time like this, which only made him want to blow something up with his magic, and right now Skoll was the best thing for such a thing, though that was followed by them rushing out to do battle with the large Heartless.

Skoll attacked them like a wolf would, by biting at them and swinging it's claws at them, while at the same time rushing all around the arena they were in to make sure it stayed safe, though this time around none of them bothered to slow down this time around, not with how dangerous looking this Heartless was. It even had a tail attack that allowed it to send out a bunch of smaller versions of itself, and it even spat out dark blasts at them, showing that it was fully embracing the power that was inside it, even though everyone dodged it while striking the creature in the process. While Skoll tried to harm them the group lashed out at it, damaging it's body while avoiding it's attacks like they were nothing, they were just faster than it's speed, demonstrating that their training had been worthwhile since it allowed everyone to overwhelm the Heartless. Even Vanitas was getting in on the action, learning from the others and doing his best to match their speed, allowing them to just dominate Skoll as it tried in vain to stop them, before it eventually let out a howl of pain and pushed them away from it.

That was when Skoll unleashed it's most devastating final attack, it surged into the air and transformed into a massive ball of darkness, a moon of dark gravitational energy that threatened to crush them, but Sombra just held a hand up into the air as her power flared, stalling the moon before shattering it, allowing the others to tear down Skoll so she could collect it's heart.

"It was strong, but not strong enough to beat us." Vanitas commented, watching as the darkness faded away and they found that Anna was back to normal with Elsa crying on her, only for the two to realize something as Elsa released her power and started to thaw everything that was around them, where he and the others found a boat below them, causing him to frown for a moment, "Why does it feel like we missed out on something important?"

"Because we did... that's the downside to time skipping: we miss out on things, but the people of this world will think that all of us were there for everything." Sombra replied, though there was nothing she could do right now, Young Xehanort was no longer on this world, Dark Larxene had vanished, and the bronze dragon lady was on Arendelle's castle, no doubt scanning the strained time line and doing her best to keep everything from breaking, before disappearing, "Come on, let's get going... I have a feeling things are only going to get worse before they start getting better."

Sora and the others nodded, as they trusted Sombra enough to know that she understood what was going on and would no doubt explain it later, though everyone made sure that Elsa and Anna were safe, the power of their love allowing Elsa to undo the damage she had caused previously, before departing from the world so they could continue to clash with Tenebris' darkness and hope that things didn't get much worse as time went on.
