Kingdom Hearts: The World's Reluctant Heroes
War: Heroes of San Fransokyo
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAfter talking with Jack and the others, understanding that Davy Jones was gone and Will had taken his place, even if such a thing meant he could only spend one day on land for every ten years at sea, Sora and the others found their way to a safe area and returned to the Gummi Ship. Following that they returned to the space between worlds, returning to their original forms, before taking off, where Sora sat in the captain's chair once more as he engaged the Heartless vessels that would get in their way, just like whenever they left the worlds in the past. It gave them time to relax and calm down, since the end of their time in the Caribbean had been rather crazy, though there was something they needed to talk about before they even reached the next world, thanks to what happened during the final battle. Sombra, however, remained silent on the matter for the time being, as she needed to get her thoughts in order before she worried anyone else, even though it was clear that all of them were worried about what they had seen back in Jack's world.
"Sombra... how bad are things getting?" Fluttershy asked, because she knew, in fact they all knew, that Sombra had a good idea as to what was going on with time, and while she was thankful that their friend was willing to shield them from harm, by keeping this information from them, she knew that they needed to know what was going on with time.
"The fabric of time is starting to reach the point that it is cracking, based on what we saw in the Caribbean." Sombra said, as that was how things were looking, and it seemed to be confirmed when she thought about what the bronze figure had said while the others were celebrating their victory over Beckett's forces, even if only one ship had fallen, before she glanced at Sora for a moment, "However, the World is still leading us to somewhere that isn't the Keyblade Graveyard, meaning it is of the opinion that we still have time to spare before we need to worry about Tenebris' damage... and this is likely the last of the worlds we'll be visiting during this adventure, before the Keyblade War starts."
Sora thought about that as he navigated around the portion of space they were in, blasting asteroids and Heartless ships out of the way, before finding that the path to the last world before their finale was actually not too far away from the Caribbean, which seemed to be one about a city of some kind.
"Well, if the World wants us to explore one more world, then that's what we'll do." Sora remarked, bringing the ship to a stop near the last world before making sure it was hidden like always, because he trusted both Sombra and the World itself, as it felt like the entity that represented the entire universe was definitely on their side.
Sure enough Sora and the others warped down to the world that was below them, where they found that it placed them on a long bridge that was connecting two places, like it was over a vast stretch of water, and there were a number of cars on it, all abandoned by the looks of it. After everything they had been through this was rather nice, a calm walk while everyone looked at the city in the distance, which seemed to be their destination, and thanks to all of the places they had been to all of them were calm, instead of running around like excited children. Sora pulled out the Gummiphone that was in his pocket and snapped a few pictures, mostly because he was sure that Riku would want to see something like this before the big war started, a reminder of what they were fighting for. With just this short period it sure seemed like they might not need to get involved with this new world, it seemed far too peaceful, though it wasn't long before they realized that things weren't as peaceful as everyone had hoped.
That was due to the massive Rock Troll Heartless that was far ahead of them, who seemed to be battling a group of people, teenagers based on what they were seeing, even if most of them seemed to be focused on the Pole Cannons that were all over the place, and a lady in a black and yellow suit was knocked back, who Fluttershy caught.
"Go Go! You okay?" a voice asked in concern, which was a young boy in black and dark purple gear while riding on what had to be a white robot with red armor that could fly, who happened to land near them as Fluttershy set the girl down, who let out a huff as she stared at the massive enemy that had hit her, before he looked at the robot, "Baymax!"
"I'm fine, Hiro. The suit protected me, just like you designed it to do." the woman, Go Go, replied, though she was still staring at the figure they were trying to bring down, which was when Sora and the others faced the Heartless and summoned their weapons, something that caused her to realize that they had company, "Who are they?"
"Don't worry, we've got this." Radiant stated, though in the following moment she and the others rushed into the area that the battle was happening in, where she, Fluttershy, and Seras quickly defeated the Pole Cannons that were keeping the rest of the team down, since it appeared that Hiro and Go Go were part of a hero team.
The other members included a girl in black and pink armor, who carried a modified purse, and a boy that was wearing black and green armor while his weapon seemed to be energy blades coming out of his wrist armor, plus there was a creature that looked like he was straight out of the monster world. Once they were freed the group found a new type of Heartless, an odd purple one that seemed to have tires for hands and their main body and the hands created blades, hence 'Tireblade', though that didn't stop the group at all, as they spread out and struck down the Heartless that were around them. Sombra snatched the hearts that filled the air as she leapt at the Rock Troll, or rather a 'Metal' Troll since it's body seemed to be more metallic, her dark Keyblade in her hand as she blocked the incoming attack. Such a thing opened the way for Sora and Vanitas to join her as the brothers cut it down with their weapons, showing her that they were working well as a team, and when it fell the rest of the Heartless did as well, allowing them to claim victory once more.
With that done Hiro invited all of them to join his team in the garage that seemed to be their base of operations, where Hiro accessed a device that seemed to connect to the news, allowing them to see that someone had made an article about how his team had been defeated and how unprepared they were to defend the town. As it turned out each of them had their own opinions on the news, like Go Go didn't think it was cool, the pink armored girl though the people wanted to speculate and not the truth, the guy in green thought the tale was a made up lie, and the monster went with the reporter ignoring how cool they were. Sombra had to admit that they were a cast of characters, just like her and the rest of her group, and Hiro had to be the brains of the outfit, the inventor and designer, since he didn't seem to be equipped to be a fighter despite the fact that he rushed into battle with his friends, so he definitely had guts. She also noted that the one in green armor understood that they were the ones the group should be talking to, since they had been the ones to bring down the Heartless far faster than Hiro's team had done, and without taking any hits no less.
Hiro introduced the rest of his team after that point, the girl in pink armor was 'Honey Lemon', the guy in green was 'Wasabi', and the monster, which turned out to be a suit since it's head was pulled back and revealed another thinner guy inside it, who was called 'Fred', prompting the group to introduce themselves as well.
"So, do you guys have a hero team name? You know, like 'Big Hero 6'?" Hiro asked, only to find that none of them had even thought of such a thing, it had never been important and none of them were really interested in making one, since it would only be useful on this world, before he looked at the weapon he had Sora summon again, "Hm, it seems to be a mix of a key and a blade... and most of you have one... so I guess 'Keyblade Hero 8'?
"Sounds about right. As for what those creatures are, they're called the 'Heartless'." Sombra remarked, though to spare the group the long winded explanation she decided to just make it simple so they could understand it, even though her focus was on tracking down whoever had been sent to bother this world, "Basically, they're dark creatures that are drawn to the darkness that lies in people's hearts, and normally you'd need a Keyblade to deal with them, but we've seen other people use other weapons to take them down. Since it looks like the Heartless are bothering your city we could help you deal with them... and teach you how to fight them so this defeat doesn't happen again."
Fred seemed to agree with this idea, stating that when heroes were defeated they would train up and become stronger, a fact that many of them, from both teams, agreed with, and Hiro had a way to do that, as he quickly measured the heads of the majority of the group, save Donald and Goofy. This lead to the rapid creation of what he called the 'AR Headsets', which would allow Sora and the others to see a virtual course and training session he would program for them, along with virtual Heartless that were based on the ones they had seen so far. Sora was amazed by this and said that it was just like Sombra's illusions, as she was able to do the same thing without the headset, but she knew that this would allow Hiro to study their movements so he could help the rest of the team, including Baymax, who had special chips inserted when it was time for it to learn new things. It was actually interesting when Sombra looked at Hiro's computer and found that he had a log of each type of Heartless they had seen so far, with Shadows, Tireblades, the Metal Troll, and Pole Cannons, causing her to wonder how he would react to the other Heartless they had seen over their adventures.
Once they were ready to go Hiro had Baymax suit up, as he was a white blob shaped robot without his armor on, and flew into the massive city that would be their training ground, while everyone else was teleported over thanks to Sombra's magic, allowing them to turn on the overlay so they could see Hiro's various training courses.
The group found that the AR Headsets allowed Hiro to talk with them from the safety of his garage, where he directed each of them into position before activating the training courses he had designed for each of them, where their active headsets showed them the vibrant rings that Hiro had designed for all of this. Each of them was in different portion of the city and set off without delay, where Sora and the others rushed through the rings, finding that they could grind on some of the rails that were around the place and even use their skills to rush through the air to reach smaller points. This also gave them a good view of the city while they did so, as San Fransoyko seemed to be an interesting place, full of things that they had really only seen back in Twilight Town or even Radiant Garden, and Sombra knew it had to be exciting for Sora as her friend rushed through the challenges. Even when he ended up breaking a ball off of something, a rather large one that could be used like a weapon, Hiro went with it as he added in the AR Heartless, allowing them to show off a variety of skills as they slashed and blasted their way through them.
When it came time to wrap up, however, Sombra had to smile as they found that all of Hiro's team had new ideas to share with him, as they were excited by whatever everyone had done and wanted new upgrades to their suits and weapons, and she knew that each of them would be ready to fight the Heartless in the future, which only made her wonder what else the next day or two would throw at them next.
