chapter 3 - Run away

Twilight just stood there motionless.

"Twilight?" Spike asked scared at the lack of any emotion.

"Please," Twilight said in such a dry voice it made Spike jump.

"I don't know if I-"

spike waited.

"It's ok Twilight," Spike said mournfully.

Silent tears fell down her face.

Spike just sat by her.

"There you are," A new pony said.

The pony was pink with spiral eyes.

Twilight looked up with intrigue.

"I'm Screwball,"

"Discord's daughter, huh," Twilight said dryly, still not believing the predicament she was in, and the fact that Discord took somepony in.

"You're Twilight, aren't you?" She asked.

Twilight stayed silent.

"How did you find me?"

"I have my ways," Screwball said in a very clear a concise manner.

"What am I doing?" Twilight asked.

"Running away. Because you're scared," Screwball said.

"Come with me, don't worry, I'm not taking you back to the library unless you wanna go there," Screwball said.

"No," Twilight said.

"There's a place I love to go to when I feel down in the dumps," screwball motioned to a direction.

Screwball started floating as the propeller on her hat started to move slightly.

Twilight and Spike followed behind her until they reached a cozy cottage.

Twilight didn't say a word.

There were hundreds of animals inside, big small, and of all different qualities.

"I like to take care of them when I can," Screwball sighed.

Screwball started petting one of them.

Then Screwball motioned towards the door and they both left.

"What was the point of that?" Twilight asked.

"Don't worry, you'll find out," Screwball said mysteriously.

Twilight once again followed behind screwball, both of them walking silently, with Spike right behind.

They eventually reached a Boutique.

When they went inside, Twilight noticed the place filled with dresses, unlike the dusty foggy mess outside. The room was as clear as a newly polished gem.

The walls were colorful. Filled with beautiful dresses of all kinds.

The air was scented of something sweet.

The contrast was almost too much, but she quickly settled into the new environment.

"These dresses are made regularly," Screwball said.

Twilight looked at Screwball suspiciously.

Screwball left through the door once again.

"What is the point of this?" Twilight asked desperately.

Screwball stayed quiet, "Come over here," she said.

Twilight groaned as Screwball again led them through the streets.

They reached a familiar bakery.

Once they entered the bakery.

The bakery was bright and pink, the aesthetic blending in nicely with everything.

This was the bakery she entered when she first got to Ponyville.

But instead of everything being covered in cobwebs, they were clean, bright, colorful, and in a strange way, beautiful.

The air smelled of cotton candy and other sweet candies.

Screwball once again motioned to the door.

Twilight didn't realize the smile that was forming on her face as she followed Screwball.

Screwball then took them further than any other trip, passing across houses and rundown abandoned houses.

Then they finally reached it.

It was a barn.

It was empty and devoid of life.

Cold and dark.

Screwball stayed a little closer to Twilight when moving now.

They reached a house's door and Screwball opened it.

Inside was a beautiful brushed floor, wood so clean it almost looked orange.

The place is filled with bright colorful rundown air.

Twilight breathed in the air that she felt she lacked for the longest time.

There was a kitchen, upstairs, and everything.

Screwball didn't move to the door this time.

"These places aren't real," she said.

Twilight faltered.

An illusion quickly faded as the house showed its true moldy and rundown nature, just like the outside indicated.

Twilight had no idea why but she started to tear up, but quickly collected herself.

"Why are you showing me this?" Twilight asked.

"This is what the town used to look like a decade ago," she said in a softer less sweet tone.

"I don't understand," Twilight said.

"Don't worry, you never will," Screwball just sat next to Twilight.

Spike then went and sat next to them as well.

All 3 of them sitting next to each other.

"Now, let's go back to the library," Screwball said.

"Ok," Twilight gave in.

Screwball lightly smiled.

Screwball led them back to the library and every pony was just there.

"Good job Screwball, knew you could bring her back," Discord said enthusiastically.

"I agree to come here, but only if you can try to talk to me and answer my questions truthfully," Twilight said sternly.

"Please dad," Screwball begged.

"Ok, fine," Discord said looking down.

"I just didn't think I was ready to tell you, I just didn't think you were ready to hear," he said.

A sinking feeling sunk into Twilight. She had a feeling she knew what Discord was going to say.

Twilight started to subtly shake.

"Celestia banished all of us here," he said.

Twilight almost fell limp, she barely held herself up already.

Her face contorted and scrunched.

"That can't be! Please!" Twilight was begging.

Every pony looked away from Twilight, even Spike.

"It's going to be ok," Rarity said.

Spike just stood there not knowing what to do or say.

No pony could say anything at this moment.

The library was just silent.

"Do you have any questions?" Discord asked.

Twilight looked ahead.

"I-. Yes... I am," Twilight said as she stood up.

"I'm ready," She said.

Discord didn't look as ready as Twilight did, but to be fair, Twilight wasn't that ready either, but now Twilight would finally get the answers.
