Silverfeather’s POV

Upon disembarking the royal airship, me and Anubis along with our lovely little cub got into a carriage and began on our way from the air-docks to the castle.

Anubis was taking in the scenery of Griffonstone, I’d like to think that he was taking in the sights but that wouldn’t be the case.

Eclipse on the other talon was excitingly pointing and gawking at those same sights from atop her dad’s head, her body pressed between Anubis’s large ears.

Looking at my two beautiful long-eared griffons, I couldn’t help but get lost in the majesty of their auras.

Then it hit me, I still had to think of a way to explain to my mother and…. Father that I have a daughter, I’d need to lie and Anubis’s biomancy would help to explain the time frame and Eclipses current intelligence.

It was convenient and not entirely a lie…. Just twisting the truth as Anubis would say but I still feel bad about lying.

I know mum will be over the moon about this but how will my dad act? I can only hope he doesn’t lose his cool or scare Eclipse…. and it looks like I won’t have to wonder for much longer.

As the gates closed behind us and the carriage came to an abrupt halt, i felt a small seed of fear take root and Anubis could tell.

I knew he could from the way he held Eclipse closer and looked at me as I got up.

“Are you going to be okay?”

“I will, I have to be Nubie…. I know mum will love her and the news of our engagement….”

“But your father, you are uncertain about.”

“Yes…. As embarrassing as it is to say but I don’t want you and him to fight.”

“If he handles the news well, then there won’t be a need for such a thing my dear.”

“Sigh* not helping to calm me.”

“Apologies my love but I’m being honest with you, but if I know your dad. which I don’t, he’ll fall head over claws once he can think clearly.”

“Still not helping me….”

Smack*

“Eep! Oh Anubis! Hey?”

“Go on, they’re waiting and I’d rather not stay cooped up in here.”

“Gasp* daddy! You can’t smack mommy’s bum!?”

“Oh can’t I? And why’s that?”

“Because-Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhahahahahahaaaa~ nooooooooooo please I-i hahahaaa sorry!!!”

I looked at them and surprisingly after being slapped on the rump, I was calmed down and level headed now. That griff.

Exiting the carriage and rushing over to my mother who looked a lot lighter…. Wait what is she holding?

“Silverfeather! Baby how are you doing, where’s your griff-friend?”

“Mum! I um he’s eehh…. Is that?”

“Oh this little cutie is your baby brother.”

My mind went completely blank and I fell straight on my beak.

“Ouch…. So um wow…. He’s adorable mum…. I’m an older sister now that’s wild and how’s dad?”

“Oh he’s running late, had some issues to deal with before he could come, so would you like to hold him.”

“Of course I’d love to! Eeeeeee!!!!”

She gave him to me and I cradled his tiny form in my talons and he made a flurry of cute chirps.

“We named him Blackwing because of his little tiny black wings, see.”

“Awwwww they’re so cute…. Oh I have something to um oh gosh this is really hard um here take him back please.”

“Um sure sweetie, but are you feeling okay? You’re not looking so good right now.”

“Sigh* fuck….”

“Silverfeather!?! Young lady how dare you!”

“Sorry mum but I just don’t know how to brake it to you!” I was panicking now and I didn’t know why.

“Oh no baby, what happened? Don’t tell me you and Anubis b-broke up?”

“No! Definitely not but we um I proposed…. And he said yes….” My mum’s beak took a look of joy. “And….”

“Oh my goodness this is brilliant news for you, I can’t wait to see your father's face.”

“I also have another bit of good news…. I’m just scared dad will react badly to it?”

“Is it good news?”

“Yes?”

“Then he’ll be fine so what is it?”

“I’m…. Um agh okay Silver get it together.”

“Silverfeather, are you really okay? I’m your mother, you can tell me.”

“Gulp* arrrghh okay I’m a mum now!!!!”

“Wha?”

“Sigh* there I’m a mother now mum, I know it’s a bit unbearable and the times don’t add up but that because Anubis’s biomancy so like I have a daughter and she’s super sweet and cute and smart and um with Anubis in the carriage….”

I stopped upon seeing my mum’s reaction, she didn’t look happy or overjoyed. She looked shocked and not the good kind of shocked.

“Ep um surprise….”

And at that moment dad landed next to mum, he looked confused but I tried to make myself as small as possible hiding behind my wings.

“You’re a what Silverfeather? I must have miss heard that, it sounded like you said you’re a mother?”

“What!?” My dad looked even more confused.

“Um yes, I’m a mum now.”

I was so ready to bolt into the safety of the carriage but dad grabbed me and brought me into a deep hug.

“So you’re pregnant. That great but is Anubis going to make you a honest hen?”

“Um well we are engaged and um no I’m not pregnant….” I was so lost at this turn out.

“So where’s you mate or should I say my son in-law at?”

“Um Anubis!! Come here p-please!!”

I subconsciously backed away and straight into a well built and fluffy chest belonging to my beloved mate.

“Yes?”

“A-Anubis um I eh gulp* where’s Eclipse?”

“Under my wing.”

Right on queue she popped out with a smile.

“Hi mommy!”

“Oh hi….” I was at a loss for words, I couldn’t even begin to think about anything to salvage this.

I was so focused on my dad being the one to be like that, not mum!

“Hello there cutie.”

“Eep um no, stranger danger.”

My dad fell straight on his beak and scrambled to right himself, Eclipse disappeared into Anubis’s wings. I wanted nothing else but to join her.

“B-but I’m your grandpa?”

“Sorry Silverbeak…. But I’m engaged to your daughter now as well, so um that’s something I guess but what’s up with your wife?”

“Oh um not sure, probably something to do with marriage before cubs? It’s kind of a tradition here.”

“Oooohh shit….”

“Gasp* daddy said a bad word!!”

“Heh heh, Anubis lad that’s no way to talk in front of a cub.”

Then my mum came up along side my dad.

“Grrrrrrrr* but she’s not legitimate…. It’s the wrong way around, she was supposed to marry him and then start a family.”

“Mum!!! Why was it supposed to happen like that!!! What, the way you want it to be? I thought you changed but I was wrong!! You still just want to tell me how to live my life!! Well fuck you!!! Argh!!! Come on Anubis, let’s get settled in, it’s been a long journey and Eclipse needs her nap.”

Thankful for the first time Anubis just listened to me without saying anything to contradict me, I was honestly happy.

“But Silverfeather, I just don’t want you to have a cub and Anubis just up and disappear!”

“And why would he!! Well?”

She winced and dad took little Blackwing from her.

“He wouldn’t…. Or I’d like to think so but it’s not uncommon for it to happen, the responsibility of a cub is a scary thing. I should know! And sometimes griffs run from it!”

“Anubis would never run from the responsibility! He’s a great dad! So just shut up and leave me alone!”

“Silverfeather! I didn’t say he would but…. Argh fine then! Go to your room and sulk!!”

“I will!!”

“Good! Your grounded!”

“I’m 19 mum! You can’t ground me!! I’m a adult hen now!”

“Wha? That little brat, honey tell her!”

“Tell her what? Okay look I’ll admit that I’m a little worried for them but we were 19 when we had her. So it’s not that bad.”

“We were married! It’s different and not to mention the biomancy. On his own daughter, on our daughter! It’s just wrong, the order then did everything , the weird magic that’s highly illegal in Equestria!”

“So! It’s my body! My baby! My griff-friend! So deal with it mum, you know what, I’m actually disgusted by you right now. How can you act like this when I literally have a cub, I expected dad to flip his shit but you? You were the one asking when I would give you grand-cubs! Well here she is!!!! Eclipse Feather Grimgost! Now goodbye.”

Silverfeather’s mother had a look of realisation and regret on her beak, she reached for her husband’s talons which she found easily.

Looking to Silverbeak for help but all the griff could offer was a saddened look.

“Huff* don’t look at me like that, you know I’m right. You feel the same way about having cubs before marriage, what will the nobles say? They’ll verbally tear her apart and she could even lose her title.”

“I know but….”

“But what?”

“But she’s happy, she’s a mother now and she is going to be made an honest hen. All we can do is protect her from the nobles and just cover this up, we’re actually very lucky that I cleared the castle of nobility and this courtyard is only guarded by our most trusted guards.”

“Sigh* you always have an answer…. So what do I do know?”

“Give our not so little hen some space, I trust Anubis to puss her to come to you.”

“Why? I thought you hated him?”

“I do and that’s because he took my little hen from me, but now she’s not so little and she’s found a nearly adequate griff to take as her mate…. I honestly think we should be concerned about the nobles finding out about Anubis.”

“Why? He’s not nobility.”

“No, not yet but even so…. Just look at him and then compare him to any other suitors.”

“Oh…. Shoot.”

“Huff* he’s going to have trouble just walking freely in the castle, especially if the news of his extremely healthy daughter becomes known by the servants.”

“Double shoot….”

“You’re telling me, Silver seems to be very territorial over him.”

“What do you mean? She is sharing him with Celestia and a maid from what she wrote?”

“Yes and as much as I dislike that, you did have a talon in the Celestia part if I remember.”

“But who’s this maid? And and.”

“And what? Is she happy? Is she safe? Look my love as far as I’m concerned, she is his first priority. Especially since they’ve had a daughter, now if you want to come with me and leave them to settle in. We can plan on how you’re going to make up with her.”

“Sigh* I hate you and your logic sometimes….”

“And I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree since our daughter has got with Anubis, the way he thinks, scares me sometimes.”

“Shut up….”

Meanwhile in Silverfeather’s old room Eclipse nuzzles the simmering from of her mother whilst Anubis was showering.

“Mommy, don’t be mad. Please?”

“Oh I’m sorry baby but my mummy is being an idiot, but I’ll try to cheer up….”

“Grandad seemed nice…. Or dad seems to think so and daddy is a great judge of character.”

“Heheheh is he? Mhmmmm yeah he is isn’t he.”

At that moment, Anubis elegantly walked out of the shower fur still damp and his normally well kept feathery mane was clinging to his neck. It was at this point that she realised that his mane was really long.

“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.”

“A wha?” She hadn’t even noticed that she was staring but when Anubis spoke it broke her train of thought.

“Are you going to introduce our daughter to your parents properly or just have a shouting contest with your mother?”

“Ggrrrrrrrrrr* no…. But she started it.”

“I don’t care about that, just finish it properly by making amends and getting your mum to warm up to Eclipse.”

“Since when was you all for this!?”

“Since I saw your dad’s reaction to Eclipse, not to mention your mum look regretful. I’m not going to rush you but please speak to them, I’ll be there if you need me.”

“Well I’m fine thank you…. She can come and apologise to me because she started it.”

“Silverfeather.”

She froze in place, Anubis had never addressed her with her full name unless he was serious.

“Y-yes honey?”

“Stop being a difficult bitch and make the first step to making up with your mum, I don’t care when and i don’t care how as long as you do it before the day ends. Or I’ll be taking a Guest room for our stay.”

“Wha! Wait Nubie, you aren’t serious are you?”

“I am, so I’d recommend that you take Eclipse and we find your mother.”

“C-can I have some time to cool off before we go?”

“Of course, I’m going to go and check on a little project I left running. It should be finished by now, love you.”

And with that he opened a portal and casually walked through, leaving Silver and Eclipse alone.

Eclipse looked to her mum and patted her on the talon.

“Don’t worry mommy, daddy isn’t mad. He just doesn’t see the point of you being mad at your mommy…. I think?”

“Thanks sweetie, he has good intentions but it’s annoying that he threatened me with sleeping alone for the month….”

“Um why not just…. Let him? You won’t be alone because I’m here!”

“Heheheheh that’s sweet Eclipse but he knows i get lonely when he or Celestia aren’t in bed for me to snuggle up to…. How he found that out, is beyond me.”

Eclipse came to the realisation that her mother was easily manipulated by her dad and it seemed like her mum knew this.

She thought to herself. My mom is a simp, dad could convinced her that murder was sexy if he brought her with promises of love. Am I glad that he isn’t some kind of serial killer and only a science obsessed psychopath straight out of resident evil…. I don’t think that’s any better and I miss video games, not that I was any good at them…. Oh shit mom’s looking at me, quick say something!

“Food.”

“Oh um yes, let’s get you some lunch so you can grow up big and strong.”

Meanwhile in the Atlantis research facility Anubis walked into a well lit room with a large observation deck facing what was a massive aquarium.

Inside was a lone small shark that laid motionless at the bottom of the tank.

“Fascinating, it appears the infected subject has finally died and now the parasite is beginning to form a cocoon around the body of said subject. I’m unsure what the cocoon is made from but it is being spun from the gills of the shark…. I’ll continue to monitor the process but as for now, end audio log.”

Anubis put away a rectangular piece of diamond and it continues to glow a faint blue before he closed the draw that contained more rectangle blocks of diamond. Each one labelled with different numbers but they all had the word subject on them.

“Now to check on project Poseidon, hopefully this one will be more corporative than the last.”

He walked through the corridors and past pipes, valves and gas lines as he descended into the facility.

Exiting into a large cave that was devoid of any water, he walked toward a large statue that was chained to the ground with corroded iron links.

The cave itself was decorated with beautiful gems and ore deposits that were covered in a fluorescent moss, but Anubis would have to wait before he investigated the ecosystem.

Because under the first layer of marble that the statue was made from, it had an orange amber underneath. Anubis couldn’t carbon date it or find anything that explained its origins but the amber contained small embryos.

He believed that the statue represented an adult version of the incased embryos but what caught his fancy was the four Trident that decorated the crest of the statue’s head.

He believed that the statue was some sort of sees serpent of a similar build to an Asian dragon but with larger flippers that gave it a prehistoric appearance.

Then he turned his attention to the only out of place piece of this entire scene, the lab equipment that was set up in the left corner of the cave.

Making his way to the equipment, there was small incubation pods and slightly larger tubes that contained mature Fetuses submerged in a nutritious liquid as Anubis discovered that they gained nutrients from absorbing them through the scales.

But one was larger than the others and Anubis pick that one up, placing the tube on his back and heading back into the facility.

Taking it into a separate room that had a number of different instruments and machines, he placed the tube into a small tank and dumped the mature Fetus which sprung to life almost immediately.

The aquatic life form looked at Anubis with a surprising degree of interest, the griff noticed this and placed his claws near the surface of the water.

“Hello there little one.”

The sea dragon as Anubis came to name the race, swam up to the surface and inspected his claw, it then looked to its own flipper like appendage and went to place it on Anubis’s claw but just as it got closer.

Anubis moved ever so slightly and it disappeared into the safety of the tank.

“Sigh* annoying but expected…. I’ll leave it something to familiarise itself with me.”

He ripped off a feather and dropped it into the tank before opening a portal and leaving.

Silverfeather bump into Anubis just as she was coming back into her room with Eclipse, the pair had just got back from lunch when Anubis came through his portal.

“Ouch.”

“Then watch where you’re going honey.”

“Wha? No you just appeared, you um should be more mindful of where you open portals Anubis.”

“Mmmmm-no but I’ll be so kind and help you up.”

“Thanks I guess….”

“So are you ready?”

“For what?”

“To go and make up with your mum.”

“Oh um heheh….”

“You can’t delay it forever.”

“Sigh* I know…. Come on, let’s go.”

Silver walked out of the door and Anubis picked up Eclipse, the griff slapped his hen on the rump and walked along side her, placing his wings around Silver’s barrel.

“good~ girl~ smooch*”

This made Silver perk up and walk a little straighter, Eclipse giggled at her mother.

The family of griffons made their way to the castle’s main living quarters where Silver assumed her parents and baby brother were.

But Silver and Eclipse was getting frustrated with how the castle maids were gawking at Anubis.

“Grrrrrrrrrrr honey, please lower your wings.”

“Why…. Oh um apologies, I forget about the wing thing dear.”

“Don’t apologise, they should know better than to stare at you…. Let’s just pick up the pace before one of them gets the confidence to approach you.”

“Hahahahah and get rejected by me? Relax my dear.”

“I’ll relax once they’re not looking at you with those hungry eyes.”

“Sigh* I understand and appreciate your protectiveness but don’t worry yourself nimrod. Anubis nipped her neck.

“Finally, we’re here. Now go on, you first.”

Anubis walked in to what appeared to be a fancy living room, he spotted queen Blackfeather and king Silverbeak with their cub.

They noticed the griff with his daughter and Blackfeather looked away whilst Silverbeak gestured to an empty seat.

Anubis shrugged his shoulders and walked over, he sat down but noticed that his mate didn’t follow.

“Nimrod, what are you waiting for? Entrance music?”

“Oh shut up Anubis…. So hi dad…. Mum.” Silver’s mum winced at hearing the distance in her daughter’s voice.

“Silver, play nice.”

“Eep, um hello mum….”

“Hello Sweetheart…. Please sit down with me.”

“Sigh* sure.”
