The psychotic gentlegriff
C86 making amends
Previous ChapterNext Chapter“So…. Silverfeather sweetie, t-this is Eclipse?”
“Yes.”
“Um hey there little one, a-ain’t you adorable.”
“….”
“Can I hold her Silverfeather?”
“No, how do I know you can be trusted with my daughter.”
“I’m your mother.”
Silver took a defensive stance and Anubis decided to intervene.
“Now now my love, i said play nice. Your mother isn’t going to hurt our daughter, so just let Eclipse see her grandmother.”
“Wha? But…. Sigh* Anubis…. She already said she doesn’t approve of her!”
“Please my little Silveey, your mum was just scared for you nothing more.”
“Grrrrrrr stay out of this dad!”
“Sigh* it’s no use honey, she’s in full out mum mode…. Remember how I was?”
Silverbeak winced and patted the left side of his chest. “Yeah….” He turned to Anubis. “When a hen is like this it’s safest to just leave them to calm down.”
“Really?”
Anubis got up and went over to Silver, what happened next shocked everycreature in the room even the griff himself.
Silverfeather turned to him and swung for his neck but in an instance he slipped past her talon and bit down on the scruff of her neck.
Both of Silverfeather’s parents were shocked at what they just witnessed but they breathed a sigh of relief once they realised Anubis’s plan.
“Eep!! S-sorry….”
She curled up, clutching her daughter whilst dangling from her mate’s beak.
“Well that was reckless lad.”
“Nah even if she got me, I’d be fine.” His voice muffled but still eligible.
They looked at him with an air of confusion.
“Biomancy.”
“Oh yeah!”
“Still crazy to think that you have magic….”
“Squawk* bad mommy! No attacking daddy!”
“Don’t squawk at me! I just panicked and swung….”
Silverbeak replied bluntly with a raised eyebrow. “At your own mate’s throat?”
“I’m sorry Anubis….”
“I know dear but I think you need to let me take care of this.”
“But!” Anubis cut her off by dropping the hen on her rump with a dull thud. “Ouch…. That hurt and what if I fell on Eclipse?”
“Oh shut up and give me my daughter.”
The now grumpy hen did as she was asked and sat herself down next to her dad.
“Huff* jerk.”
“Sigh* put a sock in it nimrod.”
“Anubis!!!”
The griff turned to Silver’s dad who was now sporting a shocked blush.
“Yes?”
“You can’t say that, what if one of the maids over hears you or worse? Look I won’t judge you and my daughter if you like to wear socks…. I myself find them to be comfortable but please don’t speak freely about such things.”
“Um why?” The confused griff looked to his mate with a lost expression but she was too busy fantasising, a sliver of drool came out of the corner of her beak and Anubis began to look around for help.
“Gulp* y-you would look hot in a pair of socks….”
“Um are socks like some…. Fetish or whatever?”
“You don’t know?”
“I wouldn’t be asking otherwise.”
“True, so yeah socks are typically something that us griff’s wear to spark a hen’s interest….”
“That don’t sound that kinky.”
“Anubis!? Our daughter is present!”
“And? She can’t hear us right now.”
“Wha? Oh thank goodness…. Still, dad gave a crap explanation. Socks are…. Well they are very sexualised here and it’s apparently picking up over in Equestria, all you need to know is that we’re getting you a pair as soon as possible.”
“Silver? What if Anubis doesn’t want to?”
“It’s fine Blackfeather.”
“Are you sure, i will not tolerate my daughter being controlling with you.”
“Nah it’s fine, I keep her in check and she knows this will cost her greatly.”
“Oh my….”
“Don’t look at me like that mum, I know because of Celestia….”
“Ooooh so?”
“So what?”
“Do tell.”
“NO!!!”
“I agree, I’d rather not say.”
“Darn…. So can i hold my granddaughter please?”
“Not a chance in.” She was interrupted.
“Sure, here.” Anubis gave Eclipse to Blackfeather and the hen’s expression softened dramatically.
“H-hi…. You’re um really soft.”
“Heheh~ thank you sweetheart, so have you explored the castle yet?”
“Um no….”
“Do you want to?”
“Um if it’s okay with mommy.”
Silverfeather nodded reluctantly as she shot Anubis an annoyed glare.
Anubis didn’t notice it because he was struggling to stop himself from cringing from Blackfeather and his daughter’s awkward conversation.
“Why don’t you take your baby brother and go with them Silver.”
“Wha? Um are you sure dad?”
“Of course, it’ll give me time to chat with my future son in law.”
She looked to her mum and got up. But as soon as she was up, Silverbeak placed Blackwing on her back.
The tiny cub latched onto her neck and dozed off to sleep.
The two hens went off with Eclipse taking the lead as she bounced around, using whatever endless energy source she had.
Blackfeather checked on her son and then began to preen her daughter’s neck plumage.
“Muuuum! Stop, I’m not a cub.”
“Sorry Silverfeather, I can’t help it….”
Both griffs watched as their respective mates walked away.
“Stop staring at my daughter.”
“No.”
“Sigh* fair enough lad.” The older of the two pulled an expensive looking bottle out from a chest that was disguised as a table. “So, you’re game?”
“Sigh* why am I not surprised?”
“Because I’m a griff? It’s a big part of our culture boy, but don’t be afraid to say no.”
“Bloody hell, I’m in but let’s go to a tavern.”
“I like the way you think, come let’s save this for later. There’s a good place down by the docks that I used to frequent a few years back.”
“How many is a few?”
“Like 18ish or so, I stopped going a year after my daughter was born.”
“Yeah I don’t think we should go there then, it’s probably nothing like what you remember…. Fuck it let’s just crack that bottle open and talk.”
“Mhmmm I actually agree with that, privacy will be needed but first.”
“Yes?”
“Where do you plan to have the wedding?”
“No idea, I’ll probably choose a place that’s unique…. Like some ruins or an old cathedral.”
“A cathedral?”
“Yeah a cathedral?”
“Okay? And what is a cathedral?”
“Wha…. Oh yeah that makes sense you wouldn’t know…. It’s a building that holds significant religious value, so you would hold a bunch of events like weddings, funerals and other things there.”
“Oh…. Yeah we have something similar.”
“Yeah I was thinking about doing it on the south continent, since it has an ancient Cathedral that puts Canterlot castle to shame, I’d just have to dig it up and move it.”
“Hahah, you speak of such actions as if they are minor inconveniences Anubis…. But the south continent? No creature has ever returned from there let alone made it there, don’t tell me you have?”
“Yes, me and Celestia went. It was exciting but dangerous, the architecture and engineering of the ruined cites there are incredible.”
Silverbeak poured out two glasses of a deep amber liquor that had a rugged but refined aroma, Anubis took one glass and had a dainty sip.
“It’s good isn’t it.” The way he said it wasn’t a question but a matter of fact, as if Silverbeak knew the griff would like it. “It’s funny….”
“What is?”
“You’re peculiar love for architecture, you get this look in your eyes when one of three topics come up lad.”
“I do?”
“Yes, architecture, science or inventing. You get so passionate about such things it’s inspiring, but you struggle.” He took a slow swig of his own drink and placed the glass down.
“With what?”
“Emotions….”
Anubis felt his body shift uncomfortably.
“Emotions?” He was pretending to not know.
“Yes, you don’t feel emotions like us. It seems to be a vague concert that you can imitate scarily well…. But I care not for that, I only care about whether or not you actually love my daughter.”
“Of course I do.” Anubis was cut off by the older griffon.
“It’s not a question. But this is, are you actually capable of feeling love Anubis? I’m not as dense as I would have you believe, you don’t think like us and it’s painfully obvious to me.”
“Hahahahah!!! You got me there…. And you’re right, I don’t…. But I want too, Silver and Celestia have given me something I can’t afford to lose and if I have to stage an accident to keep you from ruining it. I will…. But I don’t think I have to, do I now?”
“No….” The king of the griffon empire looked off into the distance and smirked, Anubis couldn’t understand why. “I guess i was wrong about you lad…. And you’re blind to yourself, which makes it oddly funny….”
“And what am I blind to?”
“I’m sure you’ll figure it out but let’s toast, you have my blessing boy.”
“I didn’t ask but thanks nonetheless, Silver will be happy to hear.”
“I hope my daughter will be able to teach you how to feel Anubis.”
“Sigh* you and me both…. I’ll be honest here, I feel nothing watching the flame of a life get extinguished…. Even from a young age, I’ve never batted an eye at having to kill or witness it. That’s a lie, i get joy from it…. I don’t think that’s wrong either, it’s life at its most fundamental.”
“When you put it like that, I understand but it’s not right. Murder is wrong, there’s nothing natural about taking another’s life but it doesn’t mean I would never kill to protect my family, my kingdom, my subjects….”
“Then don’t be a hypocrite, you eat fish? Meat?”
“Wow…. Heh I guess you have a point…. But.”
“But what? To kill another isn’t wrong, some creatures must do it to survive, it’s just life…. You can’t have life without death.”
“Then are you alive?”
“I don’t know…. But I’m doing some research into it, I cannot make a soul but I can summon one…. I can still be killed but not easily, so by that definition I’m alive.”
“That’s good to know…. But how long will you live for? Will you keep my daughter alive for as long as you live?”
“I…. Don’t know, if she wants me to but I don’t think she would be willing.”
“Probably not but a father can hope…. So Eclipse, I take it she will possess the same power you have.”
“Yep she will, but I don’t think she’ll have the same level of control and ability as I do…. But I have a proposal for you.”
“Oh my, but I’m already married.”
“Oh shut up. I mean a business proposal, I noticed that you have an abandoned ship building yard and I’d like to bring some Industry back.”
“It would be good for the working class, we need more jobs that pay well but how would you go about reviving the long dead business?”
“Give me the deed to two ship docks and I’ll rebuild all of them and bring new and innovative designs that will be sort after by Equestria and other nations looking to expand their economies and trade.”
“Mhmmm and with where Griffonstone is, it would make for a great global trading hub.”
“Exactly, and with new and faster airships. You could have a monopoly on trade and ship building. I can tell you for certain that Celestia hasn’t got anywhere to build a new and larger class of airships.”
“But we do?”
“Yes, I looked and done the maths, the only thing holding you back is money but I might be able to assist with that.”
“We’re not borrowing money.”
“It’s called an investment and I’ll be the investor, but I can only invest gold bars of a far superior quality than other nations but I can also provide platinum.”
“That sounds promising but what’s platinum worth?”
“Well I discovered that the metal is a super conductor for magic and once I tell Celestia and show her its value, she’ll want to grab as much as she can for her ponies.”
“And if we have a lot of it….”
“Then she’ll buy it from you and you can then use it to buy Equestria iron ore and bauxite ore for steel and aluminium.”
“Okay but why, we just need wood to build an airship.”
“Not the ones I’ll have you building, what I have designed is the future. A golden age of airships is coming and the griffons will spearhead this.”
“…I’m honestly speechless lad, but allow me to polish this out and look at this from all angles before we make any deal…. I’m sure you’d want a return from this investment as you put it?”
“Of course but I’ll only take my return once the project generates a profit.”
“What? But that could take years?”
“And? I’ll still have the two airship docks to make my own profit from, so it wouldn’t matter.”
“Huff* very well then but I still need to think, I’m sure I’d be able to get some nobles to help with investments.” Anubis cut him off immediately.
“No. I want the nobles to have nothing to do with this, they’ll just try to take what ever they can and that’s including the credit. We need to make sure that you and your wife get the credit, in order to control those who want more power and influence over the masses.”
“But why?”
“To prevent any and all potential to overthrow the ruling family or did you forget that an attempt on Silver’s life was made back when we first started dating.”
“Grrr* I see, we still haven’t found any evidence of who plotted it either…. Maybe you might be able to shed some light?”
“And if I find the ones responsible?”
“Whatever you want, just make it painful.”
“Good~.”
The two griffons toasted and downed their drinks before pouring another glass.
Meanwhile Blackfeather and Silverfeather watched as Eclipse got ready to pounce upon one of the butlers.
“Does she know that he knows?”
“Nope….”
“Well…. Welcome to the joys of motherhood my dear, so has she started to scratch yet?”
“No? When do they normally start?” Worry etching Silver’s voice.
“As soon as they start practicing to hunt, you use to tear every table cloth up and ruin all the chair legs, we even had to replace the throne with a Silver one because of you.”
“Gulp* you don’t think she’ll be that bad?”
“Can’t say but just be prepared Silverfeather.”
Whilst they were talking, little Blackwing awoke just in time to hear the sound of glass smashing.
“Eep!”
“Eclipse?!” Silver jumped into action but stopped upon seeing the mess her daughter had made. “Sigh* sorry mum…. I hope that bottle of wine wasn’t too expensive?”
“No…. It was only a 50 year old red wine from an exotic grape that only grown on the south isle of the dragon lands, really not that expensive.” Her tone overflowed with sarcasm.
“Well your liver will thank me.”
“What? Doesn’t mean you getting off easy, your daughter broke it, so you as her mother must take responsibility.”
“Wha? But how am I going to pay for it?”
“You aren’t, but you now have to discipline your cub. Here let me take Blackwing, now you need to be firm but not too strong with this dear.”
“Mum, I’ve told her off before.”
“Sigh* sorry I’m just trying to help, you know I had this vision in my head that you’d be asking me for help with everything…. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for you and a little proud that you didn’t need my help but…. It would have been nice to even have a letter or at least something.”
Silver looked at her mum, she finally realised that keeping the news of Eclipse from her mum wasn’t such a good idea.
“I…. I’m sorry, I just was worried that dad would react badly. If I’m being honest, I could use some tips if you got any.”
“R-really?”
“Well yeah, you did a great job with raising me. So of course I’d like to know how you did it.”
“T-thanks Silverfeather….” A single tear escaped from her mother’s eye. “Well first you need to make Eclipse understand that what she did was wrong.”
“Eh oh yeah.” Silver picked up her daughter and apologised to the butler who insisted that she wasn’t any trouble.
As Blackfeather watched her daughter scold her granddaughter, Silver was doing well until Eclipse put on the water works and the hen almost instantly picked her up and Comforted her.
“Silver? Put her down, she needs to learn that you’re upset with her actions.”
“What? But mum? She’s crying.”
“And? You’re telling her off, of course she’s gonna cry but if you comfort her, then it counteracts the scolding you just dished out.”
“Oh…. Well.” She went to put her cub down but Blackfeather stopped her.
“No, it’s already too late, just remember for next time dear.”
“Okay mum…. You hear that Eclipse?”
“Sorry mommy….”
“You better be but I’m not the one you should be apologising to.” She directed her daughter toward the butler who was clearing up the glass shards.
The tiny cub approached the butler and waved to get his attention.
“Gulp* I’m really sorry Mr Butler, I didn’t think it would brake….”
“It’s okay princess but please do be careful, glass is sharp when it breaks and we’d hate for you to cut yourself on some.”
Silver was taken aback but the butler knowing that Eclipse is royalty, that was until she looked to her mum.
“I took the liberty of having the butler’s be informed of your daughter…. Unfortunately this means the maids probably know of her and in turn her father….”
“Oh, well it was bound to happen sooner or later…. Y- you don’t think he’ll do anything with them?”
“You’re too paranoid Silver, he’s not like that. Did he do anything with the maids on the airship?”
“No…. But he didn’t stop them from gushing over him.”
“Sigh* as long as he doesn’t seem interested in any of them, then relax.”
“B-but what if a better looking hen sets her sights on him?”
“Oh dear, Anubis wouldn’t have got with you if he didn’t find you attractive, you have nothing to worry about.”
“Unless there’s a hen with large wings….”
“And what does that mean?”
“Come on mum, both me and Celestia have surprisingly large wings…. So he must have a thing for wings.”
“Mmmmmm you might be onto something there, but let’s change the subject now. Eclipse how about you go and explore on your own for a bit whilst me and your mummy chat?”
“Um okie, I’ll…. Go that way.” She scampered off and the sound of a table falling over could be heard.
“Oh no…. Sigh*sorry so mum, what now?”
Blackfeather began to inspect her daughter’s barrels to the hen’s surprise.
“Mum!?”
“Just as I thought…. So why does Eclipse have your colours and scent?”
“Wha? Eeh shit….”
“So when was you going to tell me? Or were you even going to tell me?”
“Look mum, she’s mine and Anubis’s biological daughter, she just…. I didn’t give birth to her okay…. She’s a product of Anubis’s experiments, but we still love her with all our hearts!”
“Relax Silver, I had my suspicions…. But why lie about it to us dear?”
“Because I was worried…. Scared even.”
“So she’s your daughter, but Anubis made her in a lab?”
“Yes and no, he resurrected her and modified her genetics to be a blend of me and him…. So as far as I’m concerned, she’s my daughter.”
“That’s…. I’m glad to hear that, you’ll make a great mother and wife. So stop doubting yourself dear, Anubis isn’t going to leave you for some random slut.”
“T-thanks mum…. And of course he wouldn’t settle for some random slut, he has standards. Exhibit A.” She pointed at herself.
“Heheheh, you know what I meant silly.”
“And before you ask…. No she doesn’t know and I’d like to keep it like that.”
“Fair enough but what’s this about Anubis mounting another mare?”
“Why’d you have to say it like that? And yes, her name is Cloudy Nights…. What about it?”
“Are you okay with this, I mean another mare?”
“Oddly enough, yes I am…. But it was only meant to be a one time thing, then we got to know her. She’s actually a bat pony and makes the cutest little faces when Anubis is railing her.”
“As your mother, I didn’t need to know that….”
“Sorry…. But yeah she our personal maid.”
“That Anubis rails?”
“Only sometimes….”
“Okay we need to have a talk about this.”
“What? Why?”
“Because you shouldn’t be okay with that.”
“Why? She’s only a mare, Anubis is only showing her where she belongs and that’s beneath him…. Plus it’s hot….”
“Where did I go wrong…. Why are you like this? That shouldn’t be hot Silverfeather! He is your husband to be, you! Cough* shouldn’t find that a turn on, he’s having sex with someone who’s not apart of your herd.”
“And how’s that any different from studding?”
“Because one is a signed contract that all parties must agree upon.”
“Well we had a verbal contract, so drop it and so what if I find it hot? Watching him dominate another mare I choose is just my…. Thing mum.”
“Please calm down, just consider that you’re pimping your mate out? What if he gets one pregnant? What then?”
“The chances of that happening are like zero mum, he’s been trying to knock Celestia up every time she’s in heat and still nothing.”
“Wha? He’s been trying to get Celestia pregnant? Wow…. I didn’t see that coming so soon and she what’s it?”
“She practically begs him to mum.”
“Heheheh~ I always knew that mare desperately wanted to be a mother, but to think that she’d raise her tail for a griffon. The Equestrian nobles would have a heart attack if they found out.”
“Yeah probably…. But that won’t happen, she will announce it to the public when they get married, she’s just waiting for mine and Anubis’s wedding first.”
“That’s kind of her, but then again she is the kindest creature I know.”
“Yeah…. Although she is less lenient with Anubis.”
“Huh that’s love. Funny how it works.”
“You’re telling me, she has a nasty habit of hurting him. The most recent one was we found out teleporting Anubis makes him really sick.”
“How sick are we talking?”
“Throwing up black blood and he wasn’t even able to move properly for the day…. If I remember correctly.”
“Oh…. How often does this happen?”
“Too often if you ask me, once was enough.”
“But his biomancy stops it from being serious.”
“So! That’s not the point, she hurts him. Anubis said that he feels everything, so he can feel all the pain she puts him through.”
“Yes….”
“Does he like it?”
“What!? Mum? Of course not!! Why would you think that?”
“Nothing! But maybe he likes that? I mean he does have a troubled childhood.”
“That would be crazy…. Right?”
“I don’t know, you like watching him get it on with mares. So next time we see him, stab him in the talon cough* I mean paw and see if he’s blushing.”
“I don’t like that…. I’ll just use my talons.”
Meanwhile all the way back in canterlot, underneath the city.
Glitter Bomb was organising some reports referencing the ongoings of the noble class when she saw a large silhouette of a griffon searching through the top secret documents Anubis keeps.
“Um excuse me? M-Mr Anubis sir?”
“Yes? What can I do for you?”
“Um what are you doing? I might be able to help.”
“No~ please continue with your work, I’m just reading through my files.”
“Oh okay…. Would you like me to fetch some tea sir?”
“If you would, I’d greatly appreciate it.”
“Right, I’ll be back.”
She rushed off to go proper some of Anubis’s family blend of tea for the griff but little did she know that he wasn’t the griffon she thought he was even though his voice was uncanny.
“Stupid thing. Now this is fascinating, so Anubis can’t use his biomancy in extreme cold conditions…. Oh and this is just great, how useful he also gets extremely tired when he over uses something called Creation? I’ll keep that in mind but as for now, I should leave before that daft little thing comes running back with that tea.”
Just as Glitter rounded the corner of the dimly lit system of tunnels, the griffon she believed to be Anubis. Was gone but everything was put back neatly.”
“Darn…. Why does he always do that…. I just want to pay him back for saving us, stupid griffon.”
