Daniel Book Two

"Hello Daniel, I warned you." The being said. It's voice was instead of a raspy whisper, Daniel's voice, except, it seemed darker, more sinister.

"Who are you?" Daniel asked.

"I am the gate keeper, I am also you, I am every bad thing you have ever thought, done, for all of time, past present and future, I have been waiting for you, to become part of you, You may know me as Tenebrae Daniel, or in your tongue, Dark Daniel. I have been guiding you to this point." Tenebrae said.

"How do you, become part of me then?" Daniel asked.

"You have to kill me." Tenebrae replied.

"Well seems simple enough." Daniel said, and swung his tail, only to have it met by Dark's tail.

"But it isn't. Heh heh heh." Dark chuckled. Dark swung his own tail, and daniel met it with his own.

"Never easy is it." Daniel muttered. Daniel slashed his tail several more times, only to have Dark block it.

"I can hear every thought you have, so tell me, how's Ditzy?" Dark said.

"I don't know how to react to what you just said, but I'm guessing Ditzy is fine." Daniel said. Daniel swung his tail out once more, only to have it met by Dark's. "Fine." Daniel said, he shifted his tail into his sword, and grew out his wings, Dark did the same. Daniel charged at Dark intent on swinging his sword, but at the last moment, he sliced his right wing across, and cut into Dark. Daniel gave a twisted smile. "Found your weakness." Daniel said simply. He cleared his thoughts, and fought completely on instinct, swinging his sword to the left, Dark met it, but Daniel sliced his wing once more, Dark tried to avoid it, but didn't have the time, Dark swung his sword, and it left a gash in Daniel's right leg. "That was my good leg you bastard!"

"All's fair in love and OOF" Daniel hit him with the butt of his sword. Daniel was on him quickly, he brought his sword up, and upon swinging, Dark rolled out of the way, Dark charged at Daniel, Daniel morphed into his full alicorn form, Dark stayed the same, Daniel waited until Dark was just out of his reach, then fired an arcane blast at Dark, Dark stumbled back, and Daniel charged forward, and stabbed Dark, who fell, his sword falling from his hands. Daniel drove his tail in deeper, and Dark chuckled. "You know, I forgot to mention that the only way to kill me is to decapitate me." Dark said, grabbing his sword, and flipped back off of Daniel's tail, Daniel went back into his human form, but kept his wings, his tail though was a different story, he shifted it into his sword, and charged at Dark. Dark waited, and then swung his sword, Daniel met it with his wing, then swung his own sword, almost hitting Dark, but Dark's own wing met it with a quick glance. Daniel quickly used his other wing to swing at Dark, and got him by surpirse, blasting Dark back, Daniel charged forward, and grew his horn, using a binding spell, he pinned Dark to the floor. Standing above Dark, Daniel raised his sword up, ready to kill his evil self, the sword in his hand began to go down, but stopped at Dark's neck.

"No. That's not the point, I will not kill you, for you are me. You are already a part of me, and therefore, I have no need." Daniel said, sheathing his sword, and letting Dark go.

"Very good, you have passed the final challenge, I will always be part of you, no matter how hard you try to kill me, to bury me, to get rid of me, for I am not your weakness, I am only another part of you." Dark said, then he disappeared. "We will meet again." The voice whispered.

"Well, that was certainly interesting." Daniel said. Suddenly the water and the island was gone, and instead stood a large room, the stairway opened once more, and Ditzy, along with the others burst in.

"We're here to help you fight!" Gilda yelled, bursting through last.

"Sorry, to late, I already did." Daniel said with a chuckle. "Daring, what does the map say?" Daniel added.

"I don't know, it's written in some odd language that I don't understand." Daring said. Daniel grabbed the map, it was written in english, plain as day.

"Only the fifth can read this." Daniel read. "Well that explains alot, you have found yourself, and passed the barriers, now awaits the great power beyond the door, you have done well my creation."

"Okay, so we just go through the door than?" Daring asked.

"Pretty much." Daniel replied, stepping towards the door, and pushing it open, stepping inside, he seemed to disappear into the darkness...
