Daniel Book Two

"Well, here we are!" Ditzy said, standing in front of a door to a place called The Drunken Dragon. Standing with her was Daring, Gilda, and Daniel.

"Uh, Ditzy, why are we standing in front of a bar?" Daniel asked.

"It's an old tradition to get an adventure started in a bar between the two of us!" Daring said, marching in. Ditzy followed, leaving Gilda and Daniel behind.

"You know, I thought the wierdness would have stopped when you killed Bane." Gilda said, stepping inside herself. Daniel chuckled at this, silently agreeing, and stepped inside himself. He was met with a sight that he never expected.

An old fashioned bar. It smelled strongly of alchohol. A piano nearby was playing itself, and all the ponies seemed to be having a good time. It was almost old western style, with several futuristic style lighting fixtures and booths. Daniel saw the other three sitting at a booth, so he walked over, and slid in himself. "So uh, what kind of drinks do they got here?" Daniel asked.

"We got everything from sasperilla to rum!" The waitress came up, she wore a tag on her suit that said Applebloom. Her cutie mark was that of a mug with an apple on the side of it, in the mug was a frothy alchoholic drink. The little filly didn't look to be older then ten.

"Whoa, aren't you that little blank flank filly from when I saw you last time? What did you call yourself, a Cutie mark invader?" Gilda said.

"First of all, it's cutie mark crusader, and second of all, yes. I own this here bar now, and making drinks and running this buisness is my job!" She said cheerfully. "Now what'll ya'll be havin now?"

"I'll take a whisky." Daring said.

"Just a root beer for me." Gilda said.

"I'll take a beer." Ditzy said. They turned towards Daniel. Daniel may have been underage back on earth, but here he was well past the legal drinking age, and he also had a few drinks back on earth every now and again.

"Well I guess I'll take a hard apple cider." Daniel said.

"Will that be all?" Applebloom asked. Everypony nodded. She left to get the drinks.

"Okay, so what's in the temple Daring?" Ditzy asked. Daring chuckled slightly.

"I'll tell you when--"

"Drinks are here! Oh, and it's on the house for ya'll, thanks ta Daring here saving my bar on her last treck!" Applebloom said, then trotted away.

"You were saying?" Daniel said.

"Oh yes, well, in the temple is said to be an ancient object, that only the chosen fifth can hold." Daring said, taking a gulp of her rum as if it were water. Everypony at the table turned towards Daniel. Daniel took a sip of his cider, and shrugged.

"We'll just have to see, won't we." He said. Suddenly the bar door opened once again, and Rainbow Dash came walking in, passing our booth she stopped, and her eyes grew wide.

"Oh. My. Celestia. You're, you're, you're--" Dash was staring directly at,

"Daring Doo, pleasure to meet you." Daring stuck her hoof out. Rainbow took it and shook it.

"Hey Rainbow! Why don't you sit down and have a drink with us?" Dainel asked.

"Whoa, Daniel? You know Daring Doo!?" Rainbow said excitedly.

"Just met her today, come on sit down, I think we need you on this mission." Daniel said cheerfully, Daring glared at him. "What? She's great! She's got alot of the same traits as you do Daring." Daniel said.

"Fine, she come along as well." Daring said, chugging some more rum.

"Awesome! So what exactly are we doing?" Rainbow said, sliding next to Daniel.

"Drinking, at the moment, and discussing the plans, there is a temple that I have to go to, along with Ms. K. J Reeling here." Daring said, motioning to Ditzy.

"Whoa, wait a minute, Ditzy, you're K. J. Reeling?" Rainbow said excitedly. Ditzy nodded, sipping her beer.

"Don't tell anypony." She said.

"So you write the Daring Doo books? Should've guessed." Gilda said, laughing a little.

"So how are we to get started?" Daniel asked.

"Well first we have to get to the Griffin Empire." Daring said.

"And how are we going to do that?" Daniel asked.

"Easy, we'll get plane tickets!" Ditzy said. Daring nodded.

"Plane tickets? That's kind of, I don't know, not so adventurous." Dash said.

"Sorry, can't always be danger around every corner, you do realize that I am a college professor, right? It's not always exciting." Daring said.

"Right, okay." Dash said. Suddenly the doors opened once more, and in walked Spike, followed closely by Owluicious, and with Peewee on his shoulder. Applebloom looked up from the glass she was cleaning, and set it down. Running up to Spike, she threw her arms around him and kissed him.

"Hey Applebloom." Spike said.

"Where were you this past week? I've been worried sick!" Applebloom said.

"Oh, uh, I was, um, helping out Daniel with something." Spike said.

"Well, next time, tell me, alright?" Applebloom said.

"Alright, you wouldn't happen to know where Daniel and Ditzy are, would you?" Spike asked, Applebloom smiled and got off of him, then pointed towards our booth. Spike ran over. "Hey! Whoa, wait, Daring Doo? That means one thing!" Spike said excitedly.

"And what would that be?" Daniel asked.

"You guys are going on another adventure! And I'm coming with!" Spike said. Applebloom overheard, and walked over.

"What do ya mean, another adventure?" She said.

"Uh, well, I, um." Spike said.

"We just recently went on a treck in the Everfree, and had a run in with some Timber Wolves a couple of days ago." Daniel said quickly. Everypony else nodded. Daniel took another gulp of cider.

"So what's the adventure this time?" Spike asked.

"Well, we are going to be going to an ancient temple never been explored before, probably full of traps, and a reward at the end worth two Ponyville's, and evil dastardly villains around every turn!" Rainbow Dash said excitedly. Spike's smile widened, as did Applebloom's eyes.

"Well, now that you two know, you might as well come along for the ride." Daring muttered. The door to the burst open suddenly. A large male griffin stepped in, wearing a tuxedo, and had two thug looking stallions behind him.

"Oh shit!" Daring muttered. "We have to go, Bloom, do ya got a back door?" Daring said.

"Well I guess, but it's only for emergencies." Applebloom said.

"This is an emergecy." Daring said.

"Why?" Applebloom asked.

"There she is, Daring, give us the map!" The griffin yelled.

"No way Coin!" Daring yelled back.

"Get her." The griffin said, the two stallions charged forward, right towards Daring, but Daring jumped out of the way, and they hit a table. Daniel jumped in to help her fight, as did Ditzy and Gilda. "Found some friends I see Ms. Doo, not much good, these stallions aren't my normal brutes." The griffin said. The two stallions, earth ponies by the looks of it, stood up on their hind legs, and starting running forward as such, and both aimed large kicks at Daring. Daniel quickly kicked the one on the left, while Daring ducked the one on the right.

"Run!" Daring yelled, we didn't need a second opinion. The front door was blocked though.

"Where's the back door AB?" Spike yelled. Applebloom ran towards the bar, and jumping over it she motioned us to follow, we quickly exited through a door in the back of the heavy alchohol freezer. They continued sprinting down towards the airport, Daring taking out a huge bag of bits.

"Quick I need five tickets to the next flight to The Griffin empire!" She yelled, we were already at the front desk.

"And your pets?" The pony at the desk asked.

"Just get us carriers!" Daring yelled. The lady went around back, and looking through the glass of the door they had just came through, the Griffin, along with the two earth ponies were running forward. The lady came back and three carriers with her.

"Here you are." The lady sat back down. She also passed five tickets towards us. "Only first class, sorry if you can't afford that." She said. Daring threw the bag of bits on the desk, and took the her ticket, and all three carriers.

"Keep the change!" Daring called over her shoulder. The lady stared wide eyed at the bag.

"I'm rich!" She yelled. Daniel rolled his eyes and went to grab his ticket, but got his hand slapped by the lady. "No, bad, creature, thing." She scolded.

"Is that what the third carrier was for? You bitch." Daniel growled, stunning the mare at the desk, and he grabbed his own ticket and ran after Daring, followed closely behind by the others. The ticket called for the second floor of the airport, and just as they got to the escalator, the Griffin and the two stallions burst in and found them. "Shit!" Daniel yelled once again. Daniel, Daring, Ditzy, Gilda, Spike, and Applebloom started running up the escalator and pushed everypony out of their way.

"There it is!" Daring yelled, pointing at the way to gates 21-30. They shoved the ponies in line out of the way, and stopped at the metal scanner. The guardspony was about to yell at us for budging in line, but then stopped.

"Darin? What is it this time?" He asked.

"Jack, you got to let us through, we're being chased!" Daring said to the guardspony named Jack. Jack nodded.

"Let them through!" He called, and they ran towards the gate.

"NOW BOARDING GATE 22." A friendly, and rather bored stallion's voice said.

"That's our flight!" Daring said, and rushed forward to the gate, followed by the others, all shoving the tickets to the mare attendant at the desk in front of the gate, she saw Daring and Ditzy and nodded, not asking any questions, letting them all pass through. They jumped into the plane, and got in their seats. they heard sounds of a fight in the hall, the plane was already filled.

"This is your pilot speaking," A mare's voice came on in the intercom, "Please buckle up your seat belts, and remain seated." She said. The plane's doors began to slowly close, and the griffin was running towards it.

"Shit!" Daniel repeated loudly in the large space, he got several odd looks but didn't care, the doors to the plane closed, and they were already moving, and the plane took off. they all let out sighs of relief.
