Today our heroes are taking a break in a clearing after successfully making it out of the desert. Currently Aqua and her Zigzagoon were battling against Turquoise and her Floragato.

“Zigzagoon use tackle. Zigzagoon charged at Floragato who just took it, which allowed Zigzagoon to gain experience. Zigzagoon felt a bit stronger from that successful hit. Aqua used her Pokedex to check Zigzagoon’s level and moves. “Awesome Zigzagoon just learned some new moves.

“Well let’s see them,” Turquoise said.

“Alright, Zigzagoon use Tail whip. Zigzagoon wagged it’s tail which did not do much. “Nothing is happening.

“That’s because tail whip is a move meant to lower the opponent’s guard,” Turquoise said.

“Then let’s try this, Zigzagoon use Covet. Zigzagoon endearingly approaches Floragato before attacking and snatching her yoyo.

“Ok it worked now give Floragato her yoyo back,” Turquoise said before Zigzagoon complied.

“I’m guessing Covet is a move that steals stuff?” Aqua asked.

“While also doing damage,” Turquoise said.

“Ok let’s try your final move. Zigzagoon use headbutt. Zigzagoon ran fast like before but this time leaped at Floragato with it’s head forward which then nailed Floragato for some decent damage.

“Not bad, keep training and I'm sure Zigzagoon will be on par with your Marshtomp,” Turquoise said.

“Alright girls, the food is ready,” Fluttershy said, which got Turquoise and Aqua’s attention. As they were eating aqua asked how far Fallarbor Town was from where they were now. Turquoise checked and gave her verdict.

“Not far now, we should be there by tomorrow,” Turquoise said.

“By the way, who are you using for this contest?” Aqua asked.

“My Floragato, it’s time I kept my promise to her,” Turquoise said.

“That’s right I almost forgot the promise you made on Candina Island,” Fluttershy said.

“And what promise was that?” Aqua asked.

“That someday we would compete in a contest together,” Turquoise said. After eating the girls kept going on the road until night time. After setting up camp the girls gathered round the campfire.

“So tell me what got you into contests so much?” Aqua asked.

“I have loved them since before my journey started. There is one coordinator I look up to a lot,” Turquoise said.

“Oh and who would that be?” Aqua asked.

“Why Dawn of course,” Turquoise said.

“We actually met her a few times,” Fluttershy said.

“Sweet,” Aqua said. The girls called it a night.

The next day the girls were now in Fallarbor Town and Turquoise was already excited for the contest.

“No sign of Belladonna or Rolland,” Aqua said.

“They must be on different roads,” Turquoise said.

“Which means you are going to smoke those amateurs, “Aqua said boastfully. Suddenly a condescending voice spoke up.

“Oh I would not count your victory so soon, not if I, Vivi Winstraight have anything to say about it, “Vivi said.

“Winstraight, as in the family in the middle of the desert?” Fluttershy said.

“That’s right, you may have beaten my grandma and parents but I am on a whole other level and so is my brother,” Vivi said, referring to the man next to her.

“My name is Vito Winstraight,” Vito said.

“And let me guess you two want to battle as well? “Aqua asked.

“We do but I want to do it on the stage of the contest hall,” Vivi said.

“As for me Let’s do it here and now,” Vito said.

“I hate to interrupt the smacktalk but Turquoise? Don’t you still need to register for the contest?” Fluttershy asked.

“Oh you're right, “Turquoise said before running off in a hurry. A bit later Turquoise was all set. Sometime later the contest was about to start and both Vivi and Turquoise were excited.

“Welcome everyone to the Fallarbor pokemon Contest, i am your host Vivian, And here are your panel of judges, first up from the Pokemon activities Committee Mr.Contesta,” Vivian said before shifting everyone's focus to the man in question.

“It's a pleasure to be here,” Mr. Contesta said.

“Next up is the head of the Pokemon Fan Club Mr. Sukizo,” Julian said.

“Remarkable as always,” Sukizo said.

“And Finally, Fallarbor Town’s own Nurse Joy,” Julian said while pointing at Nurse Joy.

“Always great to be here,” Nurse Joy said.

“And now let the contest begin,” Vivian said. Many coordinators went up on by one setting the bar at around 21.2. Soon it was Vivi’s turn. “And now our next contestant, give it up for Vivi winstraight. Vivi took a elegant pose as she called out her pokemon.

“Azumarill, to the stage, “Vivi said as she threw her pokeball which popped open and unleashed a bunch of blue bubbles that were surrounding Azumarill as it landed on the stage. “Use Ice beam on the stage. Azumarill unleashed an Ice beam on the whole stage covering it in a thick layer of ice which got the crowd invested to see what’s next. “Now use ice spinner. Azumarill then began moving around and twirling on top of the ice like a very graceful figure skater which got the crowd excited and the judges too. The scores were 9s across the board which landed Vivi with a score of 27.0.

“And that elegant performance lands Vivi a score of 27.0,”Vivian said.

“Darn so close,” Vivi said, expecting a perfect 30. Now it was turquoise’s turn to take the stage

“And for our next contestant, give it up for Turquoise,” Vivian said as turquoise walked out.

“Floragato, let’s dazzle them,” Turquoise said as she used her signature throw which caused her pokeball to pop open and unleash a bunch of pink flower petals with Floragato inside them as she lands on the stage with them raining down around her. “Floragato use magical Leaf while spinning. Floragato unleash magical leaf in a vortex which got the crowd interested. “Now use Quick attack. Floragato used Quick attack to climb up the funnel before getting above it. “Now use seed Bomb on the funnel. Floragato used her yoyo to launch the seed bomb which dispersed the leaves which made for a dramatic scene behind Floaragato as she landed. Turquoise’s scores were 9.3, 9,4, and 9,6.

“And Turquoise landed a score of 28.3, “Vivian said. As soon as Turquoise returned backstage Vivi was shocked to see turquoise land a higher score than she did. As soon as the remaining coordinators finished up it was time for the judges to decide who moves on to round two. Sometime later Vivian appeared on the screen. “After careful consideration here are the eight coordinators moving on to round two. The eight profiles followed with turquoise in first and Vivi in second. After the pics were shuffled the battle round began and both turquoise and Vivi were dominating until it was now down to just the two of them. “And now we are down to two coordinators, on my left is Vivi and on my right is Turquoise, I can tell already that this will a battle to see, five minutes on the clock, go.

“Floragato, let’s dazzle them,” Turquoise said as she called out Floragato.

“Azumarill, To the stage,” Vivi said as she called out Azumarill. “Azumarill use Ice beam. Azumarill fired it’s ice beam which Turquoise was ready for.

“Use Quick attack to dodge. Floragato used quick attack to out maneuver ice beam which cost Vivi some points.

Vivi: 90%

“Now use Seed bomb. Floragato used her speed to deliver multiple seed bombs which managed to send Azumarill back and inflict great damage. However Floragato had a hard time hitting the brakes as she slipped on the ice that formed on the stage which cost turquoise points as well.

Vivi: 55%

Turquoise: 85%

“Hold on, why did Turquoise lose points too?” Aqua asked.

“Because neither Turquoise or Floragato were expecting that slip on the ice,” Fluttershy said.

“You knew I would dodge, didn't you?” Turquoise said.

“Ding correct,” Vivi said. “Being a grass-type you knew if ice beam successfully hit Floragato, this match would end almost instantly, but my aim was not Floragato but rather the field itself. Floragato got back up and awaited Turquoise’s next command.

“Azumarill use Bubble Beam while spinning. Azumarill spun around while using bubble beam upwards which resulted in a spiral of bubbles which acted as a defensive wall. “Now use Ice Spinner. Azumarill spun faster and caused the bubbles to freeze and then form a barrage of ice balls heading for Floragato. Floragato endured the hits as each one cost Turquoise points.

Turquoise: 50%

Luckily Floragato was still standing.

“How can this be? Floragato is a grass-type, that attack should have finished it?” Vivvi asked.

“There is more to a battle than type-advantage, the bond a trainer shares with their pokemon can even give them strength to survive the odds,” Turquoise said.

“No matter, Floragato looks tired so one more hit and she is done,” Vivi said.

“Maybe but she is not giving up and neither am I,” Turquoise said.

“Then it’s time to stop holding back, Azumarill use ice spinner. Azumarill spun around fast but turquoise then had an idea.

“Floragato use magical leaf from above and use reverse rotation. Floragato leaped gracefully into the air before spinning in the opposite direction while unleashing a magical leaf which formed a reverse magical leaf tornado around Azumarill while following its movement. Azumarill’s spin was beginning to slow down before the magical leaf struck all at once. Once the tornado died down Azumarill was revealed to have fainted which resulted in the judges hitting their buzzers.

“And that’s all she wrote, the winner of the Fallarbor contest is Turquoise, “Vivian shouted as the crowd cheered.

“You did it Floragato, you won, “Turquoise said as she hugged Floragato.

“Darn guess I still have a long way to go,” Vivi said as she recalled Azumarill. Soon all the coordinators gathered for the award ceremony.

“And now Mr Contesta will present Turquoise with the Fallarbor ribbon,” Vivian said as contesta approached Turquoise.

“An excellent battle as always, “Contesta said. As soon as the girls were finished at the pokemon center Vito and Vivi approached them.

“Well that officially makes it three to one,” Vivi said.

“What do you mean?” Turquoise asked.

“The score between you three and our family, Fluttershy beat our dad, our mom beat Aqua, and you defeated both our grandma and me,” Vivi said.

“So that just leaves me, “Vito said.

“Then I will be your opponent, “Aqua said.

“Are you sure you want to do this Aqua?” Fluttershy asked.

“Turquoise and Vivi just finished a battle so it’s my turn now, “Aqua said.

“Very well,” Vito said. Soon they were now on the battlefield behind the Pokémon Center with Fluttershy as the ref.

“Both trainers will each use one pokemon and the battle will end when one side's pokemon is unable to battle,” Fluttershy said with both sides in agreement. “Then call out your pokemon.

“Go Swellow,” Vito said as he called out a bird pokemon with red, white, and indigo feathers which cued aqua to pull out her pokedex.

“Swellow, The Swallow Pokemon, It circles the sky in search of prey and dives sharply to catch its target, “The pokedex said.

“Swellow is a Flying-type so ground-type moves won’t work on it, in that case,” Aqua said before pulling out her pokeball. “Go Zigzagoon. Zigzagoon came out and the battle began.

“Swellow use Air slash. Swellow unleashed a sphere of air which was heading towards Zigzagoon.

“Dodge and use Headbutt. Zigzagoon dodged and was about to headbutt Swellow until Vito reacted.

“Use Double team. Swellow split into multiple copies and Zigzagoon only nailed one of the copies. “Now use Arial Ace. swellow and its copies all nosedived at Zigzagoon.

“Dodge it. Zigzagoon tried to dodge but Swellow was able to change direction and nail it with a powerful hit which resulted in Zigzagoon fainting.

“Zigzagoon is unable to battle, Swellow is the winner which means victory goes to Vito,” fluttershy said as Aqua recalled Zigzagoon.

“How did your Swellow nail Zigzagoon when I dodged that move? “Aqua asked.

“Because Arilal ace is a move that never misses its target, “Vito said.

“That now makes the score 3 to 2, “Vivi said.

“So where are you girls off to next?” Vito asked.

“Lavaridge Town to challenge the gym there,” Turquoise said.

“I see,” Vito said. The girls called it a day and rested.

The next day the girls were back on the road with their sights set on lavaridge town. Where will our heroes go next? Stay tuned. As the journey continues.
