Our heroes continue on the road to Fortree City for Turquoise's next gym battle. Today they arrived in a small town. Currently Turquoise was watching coverage of a contest going on in another town where Belladonna was dominating.

“Now Dustox use Psybeam,” Belladonna said as Dustox finished off the opponent’s Grimer.

“And that marks Belladonna's third victory in the past two weeks,” Vivian said before shifting to Rolland who was also dominating.

“Now Ceruledge use Bitter Blade. Ceruledge extended his sword-like arms which were covered in blue fire before rushing at the opponent’s Meganium and appearing behind it before the swords retracted and Meganium fainted.

“And that marks Rolland’s fourth victory,”Vivian said before the video screen vanished. “There are now eight ribbons left to be won so work hard everyone and good luck,” Vivian said before the broadcast ended.

“Looks like the competition is getting tougher,” Turquoise said.

“Aren't you worried?” Aqua asked.

“Not really, I am just one ribbon away from going to the grand festival,” Turquoise said.

“Don’t be so cocky Turquoise. you tend to lose at least once on the road, remember Steel City?” Fluttershy asked which struck a nerve with Turquoise.

“I was not expecting Selena to use ice and Dazzling Gleam to beat me so quickly,” Turquoise said.

“Then there was that time in Mocha Town where an unknown coordinator out-shined you in the appeals round,” Fluttershy said.

“I was not expecting to do a double performance so I had to adapt on the fly,” Turquoise said.

“Regardless, victory is not always a hundred percent guaranteed,” Fluttershy said.

“Ok fair point,” Turquoise said before realizing something. “By the way, How would you know about my crushing defeat in Steel City if you were not there?

“Rarity told me about it,” Fluttershy said.

“I see,” Turquoise said.

“So anyway, what’s the plan for today?” Aqua asked.

“Continue on the road since there is not much here,” Turquoise said.

“Ok but how much farther until we reach Fortree City?” Aqua asked. Turquoise pulled out her Pokedex and looked it up.

“We are two thirds of the way there,” Turquoise said. For now the girls decided to call it a night and set off first thing in the morning.

The next day the girls were walking on the road when a severe thunderstorm began which caused the girls to seek shelter somewhere.

“Well this is great, nobody said rain was in the forecast,” Aqua said not happy about this.

“Weather can be unpredictable,” Fluttershy said. As they were taking shelter a man in a lab coat with some scientific instruments was gathering the rain in a glass tube and also setting up what looked like a rod of some kind.

“What is that guy doing?” Aqua asked.

“My guess, research, I saw Twilight do stuff like this back home,” Fluttershy said. Suddenly a bolt of lightning struck the rod and sent some of the electricity towards a machine with some kind of gauge on it.

“1.21 Jigawatts, now that is some powerful voltage,” The scientist said before writing it down. He then noticed the girls, “there's no need to take shelter anymore, the storm is about to pass soon. The girls came out and like he said the clouds cleared up and the sun came back out.

“How did you know the storm would pass? Are you a psychic?” Aqua asked.

“Scientist actually, I am a researcher from the Weather Institute,” He said before introducing himself. “I’m Issac.

“I’m Turquoise, “Turquoise said.

“And I'm Aqua,” Aqua said.

“I’m Fluttershy,” Fluttershy said.

“Now that we know each other, may we ask what that was all about?” Aqua asked.

“My job is to research weather patterns and share our findings, “Issac said.

“So that rod we saw got struck by lightning?” Turquoise asked.

“Was a lightning rod I hooked to a voltage meter so I could measure its power, “Issac said.

“And the glass tube?” Aqua asked.

“For measuring the amount of rainfall we can expect,” Issac said. “If you come with me I can show you girls more if you're interested.

“We would love to,” Turquoise said.

“Let me pack the equipment up and we will be on our way,” Issac said. Once Issac was all packed he and the girls left for the weather institute.

Meanwhile in a cave nearby a Team ozone grunt was talking to a video screen with a shadowy figure behind a desk on it.

“How is the mission going?” The figure asked.

“Infiltration successful,” the grunt said.

“Good, now keep an eye out for that meteorite as that is very crucial to our plans,” The figure said.

“It will be done mam,” The grunt said before ending the call and donning his researcher disguise. “Now to get back to the institute before those eggheads suspect anything.

Meanwhile Isaac was driving and explaining how vital the work he and his colleagues do was.

“So in addition to what we saw, you also monitor the weather?” Aqua asked.

“Exactly, we track any and all weather around Hoenn, “Isaac said before they arrived at a building that had various weather equipment on it. “Ladies, welcome to the institute. He showed them inside and they were greeted by a bunch of castform.

“Welcome girls, I’m Francine and these Castform are my assistants, " Francine said.

“So those are castform,” Aqua said before pulling out her pokedex.

“Castform, The Weather pokemon, Its appearance changes with the weather. Recently, its molecules were found to be just like water,” The pokedex said.

“Castform are an essential part of our research so we have a lot of them roaming around the institute, “Isaac said before having the girls follow him. Their next stop was a room with a big monitor setup. The man behind the monitor noticed them.

“Welcome back Isacc,” The man said.

“Hi Mark, anything on the monitor?” Isaac asked.

“Nothing so far,” Mark said. “By the way, who are the kids?

“Just some kids I met while conducting some experiments in the field,” Isaac said.

“Welcome girls,” Mark said before returning to his duty.

“Mark’s job is to monitor the map and report any severe weather that is approaching, “Isaac explained, he then moved on to the second floor where they were led to a room where they had a meteorite inside a glass case.

“What’s with the rock?” Aqua asked.

“That is no ordinary rock, that was a meteorite that was discovered in a cave on Dewford island,” Isaac said.

“And what’s so special about it?” Aqua asked.

“Tell me, have any of you girls heard about the legendary pokemon Rayquaza?” Isaac asked.

“I think I have, I believe it’s a legendary pokemon that lives in space,” Turquoise said.

“Your close it actually lives in our Ozone and as for the connection between it and the meteorite, we are convinced that this is the component needed for Rayquaza to achieve mega evolution,” Isaac explained.

“Rayquaza can mega evolve?” Turquoise asked in shock.

“According to legend, yes, “Isaac said. Isaac continued the tour and while his back was turned the Ozone Grunt approached the meteorite.

“Now to figure out how I'm going to steal this sucker,” the grunt said to himself. Meanwhile Isaac finished his tour.

“Well girls, what did you think?” Isaac asked.

“This all seems pretty amazing,” Turquoise said. Unfortunately, the conversation was interrupted by the blaring sound of alarms going off.

“What is happening?” Aqua shouted.

“Security alarm, something must have happened in the display room,” Isaac said before all four of them began booking it. Once they got there, they noticed someone smashed the glass case the meteorite was in and that the meteorite was missing. This caused the whole institute to go into a full state of alarm while the thief was on the roof ready to take off.

“Now to return to base before someone spots me, “the grunt said before taking off with a steel case. By the time everyone noticed the grunt it was too late to stop him.

“Darn, whoever that was, they will be all the way to Lilycove City by the time Officer Jenny gets here,” Isaac said.

“But what could a useless rock be good for if the pokemon it’s intended for is not around?” Aqua asked.

“Don’t know and we can’t do anything about it now, “Isaac said. Suddenly Mark showed up with some news of his own.

“Isaac, come quick, the radar picked up something, “Mark said. All five of them rushed over to the monitor which had a whole lot of orange, red, and green.

“What exactly are we looking at?” Aqua asked.

“What you're seeing is a hurricane and a category five one at that,” Mark said.

“Is that bad?” Aqua asked.

“Very bad because when it comes to hurricanes five is the highest category,” Mark said.

“Where is it heading?” Isaac asked.

“Based on its current track it will make landfall in Pacifidlog Town a month from now,” Mark said.

“Should we warn them about it?” Turquoise asked.

“Not yet, before we report this to the public we do some simulation and keep tracking the storm,” Isaac explained.

Meanwhile on the beach of Lilycove City, the Ozone grunt was approaching what looked like a big cave. Inside the cave were manmade structures and Team Ozone banners indicating that this was their secret base.

“Welcome back Daren, Mistress Sky is waiting for you,” A man wearing a lab uniform said. The grunt was shown to the office where the leader of Team Ozone presided and once the doors were closed Daren presented the meteorite.

“Mission complete, “Daren said as a woman with long light blue hair came into the light.

“Excellent, with the weather machine from the Devon Corp and this meteorite, we are one step closer to leveling this region and giving rise to a whole new Hoenn under my rule, “The woman said while laughing evilly. In another part of the base was a woman disguised as a Team Ozone Grunt who was gathering intel on their evil plan. Currently she was looking through some documents which consisted of weather maps and other weather-related data.

“Whatever their scheme is, it looks like they are waiting for something,” The grunt said to herself. Before she could snoop any further one of the admins approached her.

“Hey you there,” The admin said, which startled her.

“Yes sir?” the grunt asked.

“Mistress Sky wants this in the vault for safe keeping,” The admin said before handing the meteorite to her.

“On it, “The grunt said. The grunt carried the meteorite to the vault while adding it to the information she gathered. “The rest of the pokemon G-men are going to have a field day with this latest intel.

Meanwhile back at the weather institute, the girls were bidding farewell to Isaac and the others.

“Where are you girls off to?” Issac asked.

“We are on our way to Fortree City,” Turquoise said.

“Then it’s a good thing you tagged along with me because Fortree City is a stone’s throw away from where we are now, “Issac said.

“Are we really that close?” Aqua asked.

“It should take about a few days on foot,” Isaac said.

“Then let’s get this show on the road,” Turquoise said before the girls left.

“Good luck on the rest of your journey,” Isaac said. As the girls were walking the thought of the impending hurricane was still on their minds.

“You think the hurricane will be a problem later?” Aqua asked.

“Something tells me it's going to be much more dangerous than we first saw,” Turquoise said.

“Let’s worry about it when we get to it,” Fluttershy said. And so the girls continued on the road to Fortree City. What exciting adventures await our heroes next? Stay tuned, as the journey continues.
