A couple weeks went by since the girls made it back to the real world and since then Turquoise was focused on making sure her and Haruka’s cosplays were ready. Luckily, she finished them yesterday. Currently she was packing her regular suitcase along with the one for her costume and stuff. Soon Ruby came in to check on her.

“How is the packing going?” Ruby asked.

“Pretty good, just need to wait for Haruka to get here so we can change,” Turquoise said.

“What characters are you two doing?” Ruby asked.

“I’m doing Navia from Genshin and Haruka is doing Yelan also from Genshin,” Turquoise said.

“Navia is the one with the parasol gun, right?” Ruby asked, wanting to make sure she remembered.

“Exactly,” Turquoise said. Soon Haruka arrived and entered the room.

“Am I interrupting something?” Haruka asked.

“Not at all,” Turquoise said before getting her Navia cosplay off the mannequin.

“I will leave you girls to change, but let me get a picture before you go, “Ruby said.

“We will,” Turquoise said. The girls used the changing stalls in Ruby’s sewing room to get changed. Sometime later Turquoise came out and loved the way her cosplay felt. Soon Haruka came out and posed like the real Yelan. As soon as they came into the Foyer both Bullet and Ruby were waiting for them.

“Are you going to an anime convention or the titanic?” Bullet asked, confused by Turquoise's costume.

“An anime convention dad, I'm Navia from the game Genshin impact,” Turquoise said.

“Before you two go anywhere let me get a picture of you two, “Ruby said. Turquoise and Haruka posed for ruby, and she got her picture.

“Have fun you two, “Bullet said as Turquoise and Haruka went to the garage since they were taking Turquoise’s car. They packed their stuff and got in. As soon as they were on the road they began talking.

“So, love what shall we do first since it’s just the two of us?” Turquoise asked.

“First let's focus on getting to the hotel and getting our badges, we can figure out the rest from there,” Haruka said. Turquoise kept driving until they reached Los Angeles which was where the convention was. Once they reached the hotel they parked and unloaded the trunk. As they were walking to the hotel other cosplayers took notice of them.

“Love your cosplays,” A girl dressed as volume four Blake from RWBY said.

“Ty I love yours as well, “Turquoise said before all three of them entered the hotel which was connected to the convention center. Turquoise and Haruka checked in and were assigned room 2114. After five minutes of riding the elevator, they arrived on the twenty-first floor and their room was the second door on the right. The girls were surprised by the size of the room which was a luxury suite.

“Now that we have our room, what do you want to do first once we claim our badges?” Turquoise asked before her stomach growled.

“I would say lunch,” Haruka said feeling the same way.

“Sounds good,” Turquoise said. Once the girls were back on the ground floor, they wasted no time reaching the registration desk to claim their badges which were secured to a special lanyard. Fortunately, the convention center had some decent options for food.

“What do you feel like Turquoise?” Haruka asked.

“Let's try that place, “Turquoise said, referring to the ritzy place inside the convention center.

“Anything for you heiress,” Haruka said. The two entered and the host showed them to a table. Interestingly out of all the cosplayers that were dining inside the restaurant Turquoise looked the part of their usual clientele. The two looked over the menu and decided on something light.

“You know this feels quite romantic,” Turquoise said.

“I know right, the only difference is you are not Shenhe,” Haruka said.

“Don’t look now but look over there, “Turquoise said, referring to a trio of cosplayers dressed as Kokomi, Kirara, and Lynnette.

“I did not know fish was on the menu,” Haruka said jokingly knowing the bit with those three.

“Where is Shenhe?” The girl dressed as Kokomi asked jokingly.

“Ok I think that should be enough of that,” Turquoise said.

“You are right,” Haruka said.

“Hey, can we get a picture with you two after our meal?” the girl dressed as Kirara asked.

“Of course, just don’t eat Kokomi before that,” Turquoise said as the five of them shared a light laugh about it. Turquoise and Haruka were enjoying the first romantic meal they had since dating each other and the real fun had not begun yet. Once both parties paid their bills, they found a nice spot outside to take a group photo with Turquoise posing with her parasol opened behind her. They found someone dressed as Charlotte from the same game as the five of them to take the picture with Kokomi’s phone. Once she finished, Kokomi thanked them for it and resumed their day.

“So, love what shall we do next? “Haruka asked. Turquoise decided to check out the artist alley first before doing panels and workshops. They bought many things and did a few panels. Soon it was time for the event Turquoise was waiting for, the cosplay competition. Turquoise arrived in time to claim her spot and was shown backstage with the other contestants who, like her, were also quite skilled especially when crafting their weapons. The Mc took the stage and began introducing each contestant one by one until it was Turquoise’s turn.

“And now for our next entry, she is the president of Spina Di Rosa, give it up for Navia. Turquoise strutted down the stage with some shades on while twirling her umbrella around and posing for everyone. The judges looked like they loved it and so did the crowd. As soon as Turquoise returned backstage, she saw someone she was not expecting.

“Clair? What are you doing here?” Turquoise asked.

“You are not the only one who loves anime, you know, “Clair said.

“I know but i was not expecting you to be here and dressed as Miss all Sunday,” Turquoise said referring to how she was dressed in Nico Robin’s all Sunday outfit.

“My boyfriend bought this for me, where did you get your outfit?” Clair asked.

“I made this all myself, umbrella and all,” Turquoise said.

“You know how to sew? You must be pulling my leg,” Clair said.

“My mom taught me how,” Turquoise said. Before the conversation could continue the mc announced that it was time for the awards.

“Well, everyone, we have had some great entries but only a few can win,” The Mc said before moving on. “First up the award for best in show goes to Clair dressed as Nico Robin. The mc awarded several people until he reached the moment of truth. “And the winner of the 2024 Cosplay Extranza is, the Mc paused for dramatic effect which really built the tension before speaking. “Turquoise as Navia from Genshin Impact. Turquoise came up and loved the applause along with the trophy and cash prize. The contest was now over and as Turquoise was walking, she bumped into someone dressed as Crocodile.

“How can something like this possibly beat my girlfriend’s outfit?” Crocodile asked in disbelief.

“Did it ever occur to you that cosplay competitions are about craftsmanship not just fashion,” Turquoise said.

“What does that have to do with anything?” Crocodile asked.

“Everything, the judges base their decision on it,” Turquoise said. Suddenly Clair came out.

“I see you met my boyfriend Josh,” Clair said.

“Now I see why you chose this version of Robin,” Turquoise said.

“I wanted to do Raphtalia from Rising of the shield hero, but josh wanted us to match, I don’t really like this outfit,” Clair said. Josh looked Turquoise up and down before he asked her to join his harem.

“I’m flattered but I am already spoken for,” Turquoise said.

“That wasn't a request, that's an order,” Josh said. Haruka saw what was happening and decided to intervene.

“Leave my girlfriend alone before I kick your ass, Sandy boy,” Haruka said. Suddenly Josh swiped his hook at her trying to harm her. Haruka retaliated with her signature roundhouse kick which sent him flying. The convention staff noticed him on the floor.

“What happened here?” One of them asked.

“This jerk just tried to sexually rape my friend and even tried to assault me with that hook of his,” Haruka said with Clair in agreement. The staff noticed the hook was made of metal instead of any of the approved materials for props.

“Sorry crocodile but it's off to impel down for you,” one of the convention staff said hinting that they were going to get the police involved as they escorted him out of the convention center.

“Sorry about your boyfriend,” Turquoise said.

“It’s ok, I was going to dump him anyway since he clearly does not care about my feelings or me,” Clair said. She noticed that Turquoise was around the same size as her. “Say, do you want this cosplay?

“Well, the all sunday version of Nico Robin was on my list of characters to cosplay, but what will you wear?” Turquoise asked.

“Remember when I said I wanted to be Raphtalia? I have the cosplay in the hotel room,” Clair said.

“I would be more than happy to take it off your hands,” Turquoise said before telling her the room number of her and Haruka’s room. Meanwhile the girls Clair included explored the rest of the convention. The girls were currently checking the vendor hall and Turquoise was looking at a booth that sold various swords from anime. What drew her attention was a replica of myrtenaster which was Weiss Schnee’s dust rapier. Haruka could tell Turquoise was intrigued by something.

“Which sword has your attention? “Haruka asked.

“That one,” Turquoise said, pointing to myrtenaster.

“I see you're a fan of RWBY or more specifically Weiss Schnee,” Clair said.

“I am, “Turquoise said before elaborating. “Back when I was male, I used to imagine having Weiss as my waifu but now I want to be her.

“I’m hopeful that there will be a volume ten,” Haruka said.

“Me too but what I’m mostly curious about is how the return to beacon will go especially since the key to opening the vault in vale literally lies in the hands of the enemy,” Turquoise said. Before the conversation could continue the owner of the booth got their attention.

“Can I help you ladies?” He asked.

“Yes, I would like to buy myrtenaster if possible, “Turquoise said.

“You got it,” he said before going in the back and looking through the packages for the serial number retaining the sword. “That will be $107. Turquoise paid with her debit card and a few moments later the transaction was approved, and Turquoise now owned the sword of her anime idol. Unfortunately, all the normal events ended for the day and all that was left was the late-night stuff which was reserved for attendees who were eighteen and older.

“Guess that’s our cue to go to our rooms and change since i don’t feel like walking around downtown like some pimp wife,” Clair said.

“Where would you girls like to go?” Haruka asked.

“I think I saw a blue phoenix a couple blocks from the hotel,” Turquoise said.

“Dinner sounds good,” Clair said.

“Agreed,” Haruka said. The girls went to their hotel rooms to change into regular clothes. Sometime later Turquoise was wearing her standard outfit which consisted of her black button up shirt and plaid skirt. As for Haruka, she went with some simple shorts and the new shirt she bought from the vendor hall that had a graphic of Zoro from One piece. Once they were ready Clair was waiting outside carrying her Nico robin cosplay in her arms.

“As promised you can have it, I feel you would love it more than I did, “Clair said.

“Thank you,” Turquoise said. And so, the girls left to explore the city.

some of this was inspired by the conventions i been to Irl. As for the Genshin bits. those were inspired by some YouTube videos I saw about the daily lives of the characters like how Kirara and Lynette see Kokomi as their lunch.
