The Race that Changed it All

The dessert around High Way 35 was all but quiet as the old World Race Champions cars drove on the flatbed and past the old sign. Their destination was Tezla old headquarters for the World Race. As Vert and the others got closer and closer to their destination they were getting more and more detail of the Racing Dome. It was battered and falling apart with holes everywhere in it when Gelorum attacked 2 years ago. Vert was starting to doubt that Tezla would really be here in this dump.

"Vert are you sure Tezla will even be here, I mean look at this place it's a disaster." Kurt said as he accelerated right next to Verts Deora."

"Kurt why else would Gig come all this way to just lead us down a dead end." Vert said as he saw dust gather not far from the Teku's cars.

"I think we got trouble." Kurt said as he peaked his head out his window to confirm his thoughts. Sure enough the Metal Maniac cars were following not far behind them with their leader Tork in the lead.

Monkey was starting to wonder why he ever agreed to follow Taro and the rest of gang, and then an idea popped in his head. He reached his hand for his radio and spoke into it.

"Hey Taro, Tork says that you, Vert, and Kurt use to race for this guy Tezla so what did you guys get in the end?"

"The winners of the World Race received 5 million dollars, but Vert gave his money to Kadeem to help his people."

"5 big ones huh, so you think this Tesla will give us some money as a reward." Monkey then let go of the switch and wondering what he would do with 5 million dollars.

"He might, he gave all the racers the cars they were driving as runners up prize." Taro said as he thought back to how much the mechanics said this thing would sell for. They were over 6 million, but with the speed and durability of these things he would almost be guaranteed to always win a race, so he kept his as did Vert and some others.

"You mean that old man gave you that piece of scrap?"

"This is old piece of scrap is over millions of dollars with all the work I put into it Monkey, now shut up until we reach Tezla's old lab."

"Fine, but one last question why don't you sell it and make a fortune?"

"Well Monkey you ever heard of Stockholm syndrome, well I got it for my car, it's a really piece of beautiful machinery."

"So how many times have you had to repair it then, last question I promise Taro?"

"I can't count how many times I wrecked this beaut, yet not a single line of paint or anything for that matter was damaged, whatever Tezla did to make these things I want it."

Taro then thought back to using the Nitrox 2 and hoped he would be able to do that again. The speed that those babies made were insane, He had given Monkey what little he had of Nitrox 2 to Monkey to see if he might be able to understand what it's made out of. Unfortunately he mixed the Nitrox with regular oil and ruined the last of it.

Chrysalis was pacing back and forth in a nearby Ponyville cave while she went over the plan in her head once more. They were to sneak in the Running of the Leaves and win, and when Celestia came out to congratulate them that is when they'll make their first strike and take down not only Celestia, but also the wielders of Elements of Harmony all in one fell swoop. The ponies they would be disguised as were the ones called Doctor Whoof, Bon Bon, and Cheerliee. She went to back of the cavern to make sure her "guests" were still tied up and asleep. Last thing she would need is for one of the ropes to not be tight enough and let them get away.

"Nothing can go wrong this time, I will have Equestria bow before me as its inhabitant’s Burn.

"Vert there’s nothing here man we've been duped Gig lied to us." Kurt said as he got out his car and went to tell the rest of the Teku to pack it up and get going.

"Gig's a robot he can't lie someone's got to be here HELLOOOOOO?" Vert yelled into what was left of the Racing Dome.

"Vert there’s no one there and no one is going to suddenly appear out of nowhere, Plus how do you know robots can't lie what if is programed to?" Kurt said as he went back to his car and turned his keys to start the engine.

"I would not be so sure Kurt Wylde." A voice said from the shadows.

Kurt went to turn his bright lights on, as did Vert. What they saw was a sight for sore eyes. Kadeem was sitting in his Dessert Rat car and had his cockpit window open. Vert got out his car and approached Kadeem.

"Kadeem man it's been awhile, how are your people?" Vert said as he gave Kadeem his old Wave Ripper high five.

"My people will have to wait, this is more important I assume your all here to race with Tezla again?"

"We are, but those Teku scrap are not with us in anyway and neither are you." Mark Wylde yelled out his window.

"It's good to see you to Mark, I see you changed quite a lot, what's happened to you?"

"Prison is what happened to me Kadeem." Mark looked straight at his brother when he said the word "prison".

Kadeem instantly understood why one half of the cars looked metal while the others looked like they were techno and that they were both in separate areas of the compound.

"Ah I see now well if you’re all here to race for Tezla follow me, Tezla has a new HQ and this time it's in a place where no one will ever find it so let's get going it's a long drive."

"Twilight are you excited for this race, I know I'm excited for this thing, It's too bad I can't commentate any more on account of what Mayor Mare said "a hard to understand narration".

“But oh well this time I’ll be racing with you girls."

Pinkie Pie said as she bounced and hopped her way through town square completely oblivious that Twilight was starting to get annoyed.

"Trust me Pinkie I may not look it, but I'm super excited for this race, I still can't believe that Sweetie Belle got Rarity to race with us." Twilight said as she walked and read her books at the same time.

"Don't Forget Fluttershy I'm amazed Angel even got her to go up to the sign up booths." Pinkie Pie said as she was now rolling on the grass and yelling "yay grass" every few seconds.

"Well Pinkie I suggest saving you energy if you even want to get in 10th place, last time I raced I walked and by the end of it I was even worn out." Twilight said hoping to get some peace and quiet from Pinkie Pie for once so she can read this book she's been wanting to finish for weeks now.

"WOW you sure are smart Twilight I didn't even think of that maybe I should walk instead of bouncing all the way to the finish line." Twilight’s face hit the book with a resounding THUD. Twilight then decided to go for broke and see if this one idea might work.

"Pinkie Pie did you know talking is the one thing that makes you the most worn out during a race, you better save your voice."

"Twilight that’s why you’re the smartest pony in all of Equestria I think I’ll stop talking right now, yep right now, right now."

Twilight knew she would just keep repeating herself over and over again until eventually the message either sank into her head or floated off into space. She then noticed she heard no sound and looked back to see Pinkie Pie sitting quietly in her chair. This idea might have just blown Twilight Sparkle's mind to outer space if she wasn't wishing to finish this book. She went to sit down in a quiet place and sit down to read this book. She had just gotten in a conformable spot when...

"OKAY EVERYPONY LETS GET READY FOR THE ANNUAL RUNNING OF THE LEAVES, EVERYPONY TO THE STARTING LINE." Mayor Mare yelled as she stepped into the basket of the weather balloon.

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Twilight yelled as she flung her book into the air and went to get in line for the race with her friends.

After a while everypony was on the starting line and Mayor Mare was in the weather balloon getting ready to start the race.
