After Spike and Spyro left the Chronicler's place and headed out to find Cynder before the Dark Master can be brought back, the Chronicler opened up a portal for them that lead them to where Cynder could be, this was the only chance they have in order to save her from being turned into a monster again, she's already went through a ton of horrible pain in her life, and Spike isn't gonna let that happen to her again.

While he still has a lot to think about given that he knows he.. was never even meant to exist, knowing that Cynder created him helps him believe there was something planned for him, and that was to fight alongside Spyro to save her life, and stop Malefor from returning, and if he does, they'd stop him for good.

Soon enough, after a lot of traveling, Spike and Spyro soon arrived at the Well of Souls itself, or the Mountain of Malefor. To say this place was evil itself was an understatement, just from the outside view, Spike could see dozens of dungeons and deadly camps outside at the center, they could see the Celestial Moons almost at the peak of the mountain, and they were only a couple hours away from the eclipse, which meant they had to hurry. Hopefully, since Spike has all his powers back, he can make short work of this, and they can stop Gaul before he brings back the Dark Master.

The air was freezing, a blizzard was going on through the night sky as the two dragons looked over the mountain with a serious look, there was no turning back now, and here, it was do or die.
"I see the reason why so many are afraid of this place.." Spike said with a serious look as they saw the dreadful mountain just ahead of them while Sparx was right besides them.

"Sparx, you don't have to come with us, we won't think less of you if you stay behind." Spyro encouraged while trying to have him be safe.

"No way, and miss out on the chance to live my worst nightmares?" Sparx asked sarcastically which the two dragons had to confirm.

"This isn't a joke Sparx, if we don't stop Gaul before the moons eclipse, the Dark Master could be brought back, and not only will my mom either be killed or turned into a monster again, but it'll also mean my home and this world won't have much time before Malefor try's taking them over." Spike warned which did concern Sparx a bit.

"Hey, whatever's worth, as long as we make it through this, hopefully it'll be alright in the end." Sparx replied as the two dragons leaped off the ledge and started gliding down to the entrance which wasn't guarded right now.

"Spyro, I just wanna let you know, that if this is it, I just wanted to thank you and Sparx for taking me in when you found me injured, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you, if I hadn't escaped, I could've been corrupted and turned into a beast like mom used to be, or something even worse." Spike thanked which made Spyro worried to know that.

"Your welcome Spike, but.. I gotta ask, how do you feel about all this now? Knowing you may have.. never even been born if Cynder wasn't corrupted is a lot to take in I'm sure, and.. I can't imagine how that must feel.." Spyro asked with a guilty look while the two dragons were making their way over the platforms now.

"I.. honestly don't know what to say, I thought I was meant to be born naturally like anyone else, but to know Cynder created me with her dark powers, and her own blood, instead of having me naturally, it's still a lot to process. And to add on.. I wasn't even hatched normally, Twilight used some magic to try and hatch me when she was given it, it was the reason why I was raised by her and the ponies. But to know.. I never was even meant to meet her, and be possibly destroyed.. crushed.. or corrupted by the Dark Master's claws.. it's... something I don't ever think I'm ever gonna get over.." Spike said with sadness as he looked at his dark state after it was turned by Cynder's blood.

"I'm really sorry Spike, I.. wish there was a way we could've stopped the egg from being stolen, maybe she would've had you in a natural way at one point in her life.. but.. then again.. you never would've even met Twilight or your other friends.." Spyro replied with a regretful look as they were nearing the entrance by now.

"No.. I don't think I would've.. to know how far off Equestria's world is from this one, I.. never would've even met them if I wasn't sent there by Cynder, in order to save my life. But.. if I was raised by her, I never would've been raised by Twilight, seen and helped them fight against enemy's of Equestria, I.. don't think Ember would've become the Dragon Lord if I wasn't there.. or Thorax wouldn't have reformed if I didn't become friends with him.." Spike said as he reflected on what he's done back home.

While it can be little to some, not facing major threats like Twilight has with her friends. Spike's managed to help two people who became strong rulers of they're own species, even if they're having trouble adapting as rulers right now, maybe in time, they'll grow to lead their kind into being better then they were before, maybe the Dragons could become like how they are here, only time will tell.
"Hey, to me, this means that you being born wasn't a mistake, if you were able to do that much, even with how little it may seem to some, it was still something that you were able to help with, I don't think it would've gone the same if it wasn't for you, you should be proud of that, no matter how little or big it is. Because when it comes to something like.. this, it makes us realize how much tougher things can be.." Spyro encouraged as they were finally at the entrance of the forest.

Spike had as serious look hearing that, and clutched his fist and formed some lightning in his hands, while he had his powers back, he knew he had to be careful with Cynder's if he's here, he can already feel.. him.. watching over they're every move..
"Spike... come... to the peak... you will become.. far stronger.. then you.. can imagine!" The malicious voice spoke again which made Spike shake his head a bit, he tried as hard as he could to ignore that voice, he knew who it was by now, and he tried to ignore it the best he can.

"Thanks Spyro, if what the Chronicler told us is correct, she should be at the peak of this mountain, you ready to do this?" Spike asked as they looked at the entrance and it's path into the darkness.

"Let's do it." Spyro replied with a confident look, and the two dragons and dragonfly soon made they're way into the mountain, and braced themselves for what's to come next.

Soon enough, after moving through all the cold of the blizzard outside, the two dragons finally emerged within this mountain, and they could see just how horrible it was, it was a place where most spirits would go to when they became lost, and they'd be captured and turned into power for these apes to use, Spike could see just how dangerous this place was, not even Twilight or her friends could've handled themselves here if they could try, this place looks like it could resist the Elements of Harmony, which could leave them vulnerable, and it's really Spike and Spyro who have the one chance to stop this..

A loud smash was heard from above, and they saw a dozen apes jumping off the ledge to ambush them, Spike used his Fire powers again to summon his sword, and Spyro readied his lightning powers as they were being surrounded by the apes.
"Get out of our way!" Spike shouted as he charged at the apes while swinging his Fire sword around with anger.

Spike quickly charged at a group of them with his sword in hand, Spike quickly slid under a sword slice from one of the larger apes, and he went right behind him before he backflipped in the air, and slashed at the apes back to take it down, Spike then landed on it's back and quickly jumped off it as it fell down and grabbed another ape by the neck before he screamed with rage and threw it into another one right next to him. Spike saw another large ape charging at him with it's magical staff, it shot a beam of lightning at him and Spike quickly switched to his Lightning powers to absorb it, and he soon held that power in his hands to deliver a strong blast he could charge up.
"Back off!" Spike screamed as he shot the lightning blast directly at the ape, and it took down most of the enemy's around them in an instant with a powerful lightning blast.

Spyro quickly zoomed around most slashes that were thrown at him, he quickly switched to his Earth ability's again and summoned his massive ball and chain, he swung it around like a wrecking ball to slam them into the wall, and Spike assisted with this by using his Ice powers again, he summoned his Ice spear and slashed at their chests which finally put them all down.

Spike landed back on the ground while Spyro and Sparx were next to him, they both nodded in agreement and they quickly made they're way to the next door that was opened up, they peaked around the next corner and saw there was a security system of sorts, a large green light was scanning the halls for anything that enters it, which meant they had to be stealthy here.
"Come on, we don't have time for this." Spike whispered as he quickly rolled into the hall.

"i gotta better Idea." Spyro suggested before he used Dragon Time to slow the thing down from detecting them, they both could feel the affects of the time slowing down, and they quickly made they're way to the door that was at the right end of the hall, Spike made sure Sparx was with them as they made it there, and once they were there, Spyro resumed time to be normal again which Sparx was able to notice.
"How do you guys do that without feeling noxious? Or getting sick or something?" Sparx asked with a confused look while they looked at the next door just ahead of them.

"When you use these powers often, they don't really become that much of an issue to you." Spyro replied as they were making they're way to the next room. And conveniently, at the end of the hall, they saw familiar dragon statue that was of the same one that they always saw in the temple, and Spike had an idea on who this was now.

"Spike, I think this statue represents the Dark Master himself, maybe before he was corrupted with power and became the monster he is now." Spike suggested as they saw the statue glaring over them, like it was watching they're every move.

"I had a feeling about this, but if these statues are here like at the temple, then it makes me wonder what we'd look like if we grow up, would we look like.. him? Or would we be something far different?" Spyro asked as they jumped down a hole that lead them down further through the fortress.

"I don't know, but we never will if we don't stop this, come on, let's ignore the small fry and just keep climbing the mountain, we need to make it to the top before it's too late." Spike said with a serious look as he ran ahead of them, and Spyro and Sparx quickly followed behind to keep up with him.

After that small section, the two dragons made they're way through the fortress like all the other places they've been too, they had a ton of traps they needed to avoid, enemy's to take down or avoid, and they had to keep making they're way higher up to the peaks as that's where Gaul was.

Spike could feel his power was stronger here somehow, it's possible because of the Celestial Moons growing closer to eclipsing, and the Dark powers of Cynder that were in him could be even stronger at that hour, but Spike needed to be careful, he has more power then even Spyro does, and if he were to be corrupter or turned evil in some way, Spike may never be able to return to the dragon he is now.

Spike and Spyro had to go through tons of gauntlets of enemy's as they made they're way through this place, they couldn't find any prisoners here that needed to be helped out, and it's best that there aren't, because it'd only delay the time they have in order to stop Gaul.

Spike and Spyro were making they're way through the caves of the mountain, they could see the view of the void around them as they hurried through the place, and Spike could feel the cold air on his scales, it's like this place never felt the light of the sun, and it was freezing because of it.
"Man, to think lost souls have to come here to this dreadful place, I just wonder what'd make them be lost in the first place?" Spike asked as they jumped off a nearby ledge to head down to one on the lower side.

"I don't know either, it may be because of Gaul and his forces, they've may be leading then here to build up power to bring back the Dark Master, it's sick to think about if you ask me." Spyro replied as they could see just how much this place has grown because of it's dark history.

"I know, I don't think Chrysalis, Tirek of Sombra would've survived a place like this, I think the Dark Master could be stronger then them all, if you look at what he's done to this world, and how close he's come to destroying it with his dark powers, it makes me wonder if either of them could've made it through here, or died trying." Spike asked while he reflected on the strongest villains he's known.

"I don't exactly know who any of them are, but if they're some of the strongest villains in your world, they may at least stand somewhat of a chance right?" Sparx asked while Spyro thought over it with the powers they have.

"I don't know, look at how strong Cynder was before she was freed, that power we used, Aether, was able to defeat her of her corruption in less then a minute despite who's she's defeated before, so if we could do that to her so quickly, imagine how much stronger the Dark Master's powers would be if he knew about Aether." Spyro theorized which was a good point.

"It could be true, but I don't think he even uses Aether, he may use a dark version of it with how he does things, I don't think he'd want to use the powers of light to destroy them, he'd definitely put up a fight if he fought any of them that's for sure. Even if we haven't met him fully, with what we've heard of him.. I think he may beat them if they were to fight." Spike suggested which Sparx rolled his eyes at.

"Hey instead of making weird theory's that people may get upset about, why don't we just keep moving? I don't think this is doing us any favors if we talk about stuff like this." Sparx suggested which made them get back on track.

"He's right, come on Spike we have to hurry." Spyro insisted while he ran ahead to get to some floating platforms that lead to the peaks, and Spyro quickly followed behind to keep up.

As Spike and Spyro continued to climb the mountain as the hour went by, Spike and Spyro could see the weather turn from a harsh blizzard, into a dark storm that could be seen for miles, there was dark lightning flashing all over the mountain as the Celestial Moons were even closer then before, and after tons of fighting and making they're way through the mountain, the storm got worse and worse as they made it farther to the peaks.

There was an intense music able to be heard as they were finally making it to the peak, looking over the whole fortress which was the only way in and out, Spike and Spyro looked over all they've gone through, and they took a deep breath and knew that this would be it.
"Well, this is it. If we don't make it out of this guys, anything you'd like to say before we do this?" Spyro asked as they looked over the view of the whole fortress.

"I would. I just wanna let you guys know, that even if we die from this, I'm glad to have had gone through this with you, while I may seem like a jerk at times, and often refuse to get into stuff like this.. I still have fun when being with you, I'll admit that." Sparx confessed which made Spike smile a bit.

"Thanks Sparx, for me.. I just hope that if we make it through this, and save Cynder, hopefully we can find a way to reach my home again, or at least get into contact with Twilight and the others. Even if I can't see them again, or go home because of what I've learned here, I'd at least want them to know what incredible adventures I've gone on with you, finding my mom, learning of the dragons history in this world, and knowing where I came from. I just hope if we make it through this, one day.. we'll see Twilight and the others.. no matter how long it takes.." Spike prayed as they were finally at the peak of the mountain, and they could see the entrance to Gaul's lair as there was tons of power being sucked into the place.

"I hope so too, I'm just glad we made it through to get to this moment, just remember, no matter what happens, we stick together on this." Spyro assured as they looked over the pit they had to jump into.

"You got it Spyro. Welp, time to jump into the pit of despair and doom which we'll probably never return from, whoo!" Sparx cheered as he jumped into the hole that led to the center without a second thought.

"He's so weird." Spyro whispered to Spike which he agreed with.

"Let's just save my mom." Spike replied before he and Spyro jumped into the hole too, and prepared for the worst.

Spyro, Spike and Sparx finally made they're way into the very center of the mountain after all the fighting they had to go through, and Spike could already feel the dark presence around them.
"Where are we?" Spyro asked as they looked over this dark place.

"The better question is.. what's that smell?" Sparx asked with disgust as they saw a beam of light shooting itself to the sky directly in the center, and that's when Spike felt something was wrong.

"Spyro, wait!" Spike warned as they saw torches light up around the room, and they soon saw the King of the Apes himself, Gaul.

"Well well.. if it isn't the purple whelping, and Cynder's pathetic excuse for a child! It's fair that you would be here tonight to witness the dawn of a new age, and the failure of your pathetic race of dragons!" Gaul greeted while Spike growled with anger seeing him.

"We wouldn't miss it Gaul." Spyro said with a look of anger while Spike was clutching his fists for what's about to come next.

"Then please, have a seat!" Gaul shouted as he shot his staff at them both and it weakened them greatly from it's huge power.

"No.. we can't let this keep us down!" Spike said with pain as he tried pushing through it's familiar pain, it was the same kind he felt whenever he was shocked in those cages, and if he pushed through them, he can push through these too.

"Foolish dragons, you are no match.." Gaul mocked while he held his staff in the air.

"We've made it this far haven't we?" Spyro asked weakly while they were trying to get up.

"Yes, you've both been quite elusive, and all it took was your friends pathetic determination to save his mother, Cynder. How tragic, that she will be the one to destroy you both!" Gaul shouted as Cynder suddenly lunged at them both and was forced to fight against them.

"No, I will not let you control her anymore!" Spike shouted with anger as he felt his powers were building up.

"You don't have to do this Cynder." Spyro said with guilt as she was making sure they couldn't be heard.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna fight you, just line me up with his staff." Cynder whispered which sounded good to him, but Spike was worried of the result of what would happen.

"To think it'd have to come to this..." Spike said with regret as they circled around the large room, and Cynder took the moment to lunge at Gaul to destroy his spear, but he quickly grabbed her with his claws and squeezed her harshly.

"This isn't over!" Gaul screamed before he threw Cynder at the wall and it sent her onto the ground with great pain.

"Mom!" Spike shouted with fear and anger as he saw her on the ground, going through the same pain she's had to go through for so long.

"Don't touch them, the whelplings are mine!" Gaul ordered his soldiers as he jumped down to the arena and drew two large blades, Spike felt his anger building up as he saw Gaul approach them, this was the fight to save his mother and this world, and he was not gonna let this monster live for another night.

"You leave my mother alone!!" Spike screamed as he directly lunged at him and used his Wind powers, and he wrapped his whip around one of Gaul's blades and pulled Gaul to him, Spike quickly jumped over Gaul as he tried slashing at them with his free blade, and Spyro assisted with this by using his Fire powers, and he used a Comet Dash and flew directly in his chest which knocked him back.

Spike quickly landed on Gaul's arm and switched to his Shadow powers now, he summoned his large scythe and tried slashing at Gaul's head, but Gaul quickly blocked his strike with his other sword to avoid taking the hit.
"You have your mother's powers, impressive, but it won't be enough to save a pest like you!" Gaul screamed before he parried Spike's attack and punched him directly off his shoulder, Spike was thrown back onto the ground next to Spyro who was still standing his ground.

"You were never even meant to be born! If Cynder hadn't defied her master, you never would've had the pathetic life you had with those ponies!" Gaul screamed while he charged through the arena and slashed at them with all his might, Spike and Spyro quickly avoided whatever he tried to do, and Spike was getting more angry as he felt his powers swell up.

"Shut up!! You were the one who took my mother when she was an egg, all because you couldn't just accept, that your nothing more then a stupid, oversized monkey! I have a feeling that if the Dark Master is freed, he'd get rid of all of you once he has no use for you anymore! And with how much you've failed in the past, I'd say he'd do it the night he'll be freed!" Spike shouted as he flipped over Gaul's blades again and changed his powers to Lightning again.

Spike made a scream of rage and began rapidly punching Gaul in the face to push him back, and Spyro assisted by using his Ice powers to freeze his legs.
"But I won't let you cause any more harm again, you've done too much to my mother.. too much to this world! If I'm gonna die here, I will make sure you go down first!! No one. messes. With. My. Home!!!" Spike screamed with fury as he delivered a strong punch to Gaul's skull which knocked him to the ground, Spike changed his powers to Poison again and he summoned his large hammer, he jumped in the air and made a loud battle cry as he went to smash him to the ground.

But Gaul was able to recover from this and he quickly rolled out of the way before Spike could crush him, Spyro changed into Fire again and soon shot more fire balls at him to take him down, but Gaul deflected it with his blades and was getting even more furious.
"You pathetic dragons, have no idea what the meaning of power is! It comes form Fear!" Gaul screamed as he pushed through Spike's own fear screams and soon slammed him to the ground.

"It comes from pain and dominance!" Gaul shouted even more as he threw Spike into Spyro which knocked them both into the wall.

"And it comes.. from Death!" Gaul finished as he made another charge at them, and that's when Spike finally and Spyro finally were feeling they're rage hit it's limits.

"No... it... doesn't!!!" Spyro shouted as he used his Earth powers to shoot a strong blast at him to knock him back, and Spike used his Siren Scream to knock him back even further.

"Power doesn't come from fear Gaul, it comes from those who use it with respect!" Spike countered as he formed his Fire sword in his hands again and raised it at him.

Gaul growled with anger and had enough of these pests interfering with him.
"Your time is over... dragons!"" Gaul screamed as he jumped into the air and raised his blades once again, Spike and Spyro quickly rolled out of the way as they slammed onto the ground, but the impact was strong enough to crack the ground before it collapsed, and they all went falling even deeper into the mountain where the heart of it's power was. But Gaul had dropped his staff of power from the impact, and as it hit the ground, it finally shattered upon impact which left him without the power he had before.

But as Spike and Spyro were recovering, Spike noticed the Celestial Moons finally were aligning with eachother, and it was the hour of the Eternal Night now.
"On no.. we're too late!" Spike screamed as they felt the moons power flash over the entire world which blinded everyone.

But the power flew directly down into the pillar of light they were in, and they both screamed with pain and anger as they felt a dark, powerful magic they haven't felt before flow through them.

Spike and Spyro screamed with anger as they felt they're bodies being over taken by a power of anger and hate, a dark power which the Dark Master himself could use, they're bodies soon became pure black with pure white eyes, and Spike's spine became pure white while his claws became far shaper and more deadly then before. Spyro's body turned completely black too, and his eyes were fully white, and they showed one of pure anger as they felt such power flow through them.

Spike and Spyro landed on the ground after feeling so much power being absorbed into them, it was the darkest power they've ever felt in them, even darker then Cynder's own powers. But if there was one thing they could only feel as they were now in these Dark forms of theirs.. it was fury.

Gaul roared at the two dragons as they were in a state of anger and fury. Gaul charged at them with what power he had left, and he tried destroying the two dragons who couldn't say a word. But at that cost, came power beyond anything they've felt before. Spike quickly caught Gaul's fist and crushed it instantly from his power, and he glared at him with malice as he pierced into his soul.

Gaul screamed with pain before Spyro charged at him with his horns, and he used his Dark Aether to slam Gaul into the wall like he did with Cynder, Spike formed the power in his hands and roared at Gaul with complete rage, and he shot multiple blasts of power at him which Gaul was trying to avoid.

He used his powers and formed a tornado around him while trying to suck them into it, but they weren't phased by it at all, and they only pushed through whatever attacks he threw at him, Spike was the one to counter Gaul's tornado move, and he quickly lunged into the air and fell directly to Gaul's head while he raised his foot, and he soon slammed it down directly on his skull which sent a shockwave from it's immense power.

Gaul was thrown to the ground again as they were not showing any signs of slowing down, Gaul roared at them again and shot lasers from his eyes to try and destroy them, but they simply deflected off their bodies while they marched too them, Spike and Spyro took deep breaths and shot they're dark powers at him at once, and that only sent him flying across the room and against the ceiling, he soon fell back down while more rubble fell onto him which made him groan with pain.
"What.. dark power is this?" Gaul asked weakly as he looked at the two Dark dragons who were lost in their anger, and Spike was charging up a blast in his hands to finish the job.

Spike roared at Gaul and shot the powerful blast directly at his chest, and the move pierced directly through him before it went flying at the wall and went bursting out of the mountain which was beginning to shake from the overwhelming power. Gaul screamed with pain as he felt the dark power pierce through him, and fell to his knees as he felt his power was leaving him.
"What are you waiting for dragons? Finish me like the monsters you are!" Gaul mocked one last time as he looked at Spike and Spyro who didn't move at first, and he thought that was showing they're weakness in them as one last desperate attempt to stop themselves.

But Gaul only laughed mockingly at this and thought this was his moment to finish them for good.
"Hahaha! Pathetic!" Gaul insulted one last time which finally made them snap.

Gaul raised his fists at them and tried to crush them one last time, but Spike and Spyro shot powerful blasts of Dark Aether at him which was blowing him back, he tried to counter this, but the power combined was far too much for him to handle, and he was only getting weaker, and he felt the dark power draining the very life force from him.

A bell gong could be heard as Spike and Spyro began floating in the air, and they began building up all the dark powers to deliver one final blow to him. Spike and Spyro roared with fury as they finally built up all they're Dark Aether, and they made a ear piercing scream of fury as they sent the power of Dark Aether across the entire room.

The blasts soon went directly at Gaul who could barely fight back anymore, and one of the blasts not only turned him to stone completely and drained him of his life force in an instant, but the blast Spike sent out completely destroyed Gaul in an instant, killing him for good. Spike and Spyro soon landed on the ground and had emerged victorious, but they were still in they're Dark forms, and soon enough, they flew up to the last area to finish things off.

Cynder had managed to recover from that attack from Gaul, and she and Sparx were really worried for the two of them, but they soon saw Spike and Spyro fly up to them both within the beam of light that shot towards the sky, and Cynder's eyes had a look of horror as she saw her friend and own son corrupted with Dark Aether.
"Oh no.." Cynder said with terror as their power was starting to make the entire mountain collapse.

"Spyro, Son! Stop! Please!" Cynder begged while they were trying to fly out of the beam of light, but Cynder's voice was something that was able to get through to them, with how much they cared for her, it was something they could hear despite how much rage they had.

"Whoa! calm down guys it's us!" Sparx said with fear while they felt they're anger trying to take them over.

"Mom.. the power... it's.. too much!" Spike said with pain as he was trying to break free from his Dark form.

"We.. we.. can't stop ourselves!" Spyro said with pain as they felt they're forms returning to normal, and Cynder used this moment to lunge at them and she forced them out of the pillar of light, it had them all land on the ground and Spike and Spyro's body had soon returned to normal, and were free of that Dark power they were using before.

"Spyro.." Sparx asked with concern while Cynder was helping Spike up.

"You okay son?" Cynder asked with worry while Spike was horrified with what they've just done.

"I.. I don't know..." Spike said as he looked at his claws, deep down.. he could still feel that power he and Spyro used, but it was dormant now.. and he swore to never use it again..

"What.. have we done?" Spyro asked with fear as the place was shaking violently.

"Don't worry Spyro, son, your with friends, and your mother Spike." Cynder assured while they both looked down with guilt.

"I'm sorry.. we couldn't stop.." Spyro said with regret just as they saw a large chunk of boulders collapse through the hole they went through, and they had very little time to escape this place

"Oh no, that's our only way out!" Sparx said with fear as Spike tried getting up.

"Come on, now's our chance!" Cynder shouted to the two who were feeling too weak to move.

"Mom.. I'm sorry.. I.. can't keep going.." Spike said regretfully as that power weakened him greatly.

"Cynder.. just go without us... please.." Spyro begged which she refused to do.

"No! I'm not leaving you behind, I can't lose the only son I have! Not again! We're not leaving without you!" Cynder argued which was helping them try to push through.

"Usually I'd ignore her, but she's making sense here, come on, we gotta go!" Sparx encouraged which made Spike and Spyro finally get up, but they were too late, and they soon saw the boulders had completely covered they're only way out, trapping them inside the collapsing mountain.

"We're trapped!" Spyro said with fear and guilt as the entire cave was collapsing around them.

Spike began to cry to know that this may be they're last moment, and he quickly gave Cynder a hug to comfort her one last time.
"I'm sorry mom.. what... do we do now?" Spike asked with fear as they looked around the ruined mountain that wouldn't last for much longer.

"Ride out this storm... live to fight another day.. The Chronicler's words echoed through they're heads which gave them one last idea that could save they're lives.

"That could work.." Spike said with realization as he was making his way to Spyro.

"Guys, get close to us, now!" Spyro instructed while Spike came next to him, Cynder came close to Spike while Sparx was near Spyro, he and Spike looked at eachother one last time and knew what they needed to do.

"I'm sorry Twilight.. but.. I'm not coming home for a while... but I promise.. we'll stop the Dark Master one day.." Spike said with hope as he and Spyro held they're loved ones close to them, and with what little power they had left.. they used all the power they could that completely froze them in a crystal for as long as possible, keeping them safe from the collapsing cave, and giving them the chance to fight another day.

Spike, Spyro, Sparx and Cynder were completely frozen in a crystal as the entire mountain collapsed in on itself, even after all they went through, at least they were able to be together for this, but no matter what happens, however long it takes, they will stop the Dark Master, even if it means Spike won't see Twilight and the others again...

"Young dragons.. all hope lies with you both.. when you wake up, it will be a different world.. but know this, you are not alone: You have allies." The Chronicler's words assured as Spike his friends were frozen in a crystal in that mountain for now, they don't know how long they'll be there, but when the time comes.. they'll make things right.. and fix the world that has suffered for so long...

Hey guys thanks for reading this! So wraps up the Eternal Night, I think this was a really strong cliffhanger ending that perfectly led into Dawn of the Dragon, it was a strong moment in the trilogy that really set the tone for the next game, and with one more Interlude I'm gonna do that will have an impact for the 3rd game, it will be an interesting ride. I just hope you liked this, and look forward to what comes next!
