Daniel Book 3- Life in Ponyville
Chapter 6- A Date to Remember
Previous ChapterNext ChapterDaniel walked into the park, and sat down on a bench. A grey pegasus trotted up and sat next to him, Daniel turned towards her and smiled. "Hey Ditzy." Daniel said, and gave her a hug. Ditzy hugged back.
"So, how was your first normal day in Ponyville?" She asked, Daniel chuckled.
"Longer than you would think." Daniel said, and put an arm around her, and pulled her a little closer. "But, it was well worth it, especially now that I get to see you."
"I agree, it does seem worth it. So, what are you going to do now?" Ditzy asked, leaning against Daniel. Daniel shrugged.
"I don't know really, I think I've already done everything I can for today. Do you want to do something?" Daniel asked.
"Well, now that I think about it, with the sun setting, I know a lovely little spot where we can watch the sunset." Ditzy said sheepishly, Daniel smiled a little warmer, and nodded.
"That would be nice, why don't you show me?" He said encourgingly. Ditzy nodded, and got up, Daniel got up as well. They walked towards a small river, then went down south a little more, into a small wooded area, which opened up into a small grove with trees blocking all four sides, there was a small bridge crossing the river. Ditzy walked over to it. Followed by Daniel, she stopped on the middle of the bridge. And gazed off towards the west, down to where the river was flowing from. Daniel followed closely, she sat on the little bench, and Daniel sat next to her. There was a perfect view of the sun slowly setting over the river, half of it already gone.
"You know, I remember when this bridge was built, it was about four hundred years ago. You know it's odd, I'm old, even for a regular pony, yet I still have the complexion of a young adult mare. My life has been so lonely over the years. I never had anypony by my side to call my lover, and all my friends over the years died, I made new friends, and ponies began having longer lives, instead of living to be thirty, they lived for hundreds of years due to the residual magic left over from the great battle so long ago." Ditzy told Daniel.
"That sounds kind of horrible, I suppose that's the curse for living forever." Daniel said, pulling ditzy close once more as the sun sank behind the world.
"Not anymore, because I have you, and to bad for you, you live forever right along side me." Ditzy said with a playful smile, the last few rays of sunlight disappearing.
"And I wouldn't have it any other way." Daniel said, the moon now rising. There was a sound of giggling in the trees and sure enough a few seconds later who else to come walking along, other than Diamond Tiara.
"Well, isn't that suiting, the freak with the idiot, how romantic." She said with a snicker, Ditzy rolled her eyes, and Daniel tried his best not to crack a smile, but failed, and ended up laughing.
"You know, I've heard of desperate bullies, but to actually stalk me and my marefriend into the woods, in a park, at night, that's just sad." Daniel said with a laugh. Ditzy perked up slightly, and had a smile growing herself.
"W-well, I was just, uh, taking a walk." Diamond Tiara stuttered.
"Okay, if you say so, oh, and could you please not call Ditzy an idiot? It's kind of mean, if you could, please direct all mean comments, and teasing phrases towards me, and not her, she's actually quite smart. Oh, and also as much I would like to laugh at your attempts at bullying me, I don't think right now is the right time." Daniel said cheerfully.
"Uh, okay, I guess." Diamond said, more confused than anything else. She turned and left.
"Daniel?" Ditzy said.
"Yes love?" Daniel replied, watching the moon rising into the sky.
"Thanks." Ditzy said simply.
"What for?"
"Just standing up for me." Ditzy said, leaning against Daniel, who wrapped his right arm around her shoulders.
"No problem." He replied with a smile. 'No problem indeed, not now, with you here with me.' Daniel thought.
