Daniel Book 3- Life in Ponyville

Daniel stepped outside, and stretched. Growing out his wings, he flew up to the roof onto a nearby cloud, and layed down on it on his belly, just watching the playground. "Hey, whatchya doing up here?" A scrawny pegasus colt flew up to Daniel's spot, and sat next to him.

"Just watching you fellas play." Daniel said, giving him a smile.

"Oh, well why don't you play with us?" The colt asked. Daniel shrugged.

"You ponies seem fine without me. Besides, I would probably ruin your game, my fingers and height do give me quite a few advantages." Daniel replied.

"So? You would be awesome for a team mate!" The colt yelled excitedly.

"I suppose so." Daniel said, suppressing a grin.

"My name's Feather Wieght, You can just call me Feather though." Feather stuck out his hoof. Daniel took it.

"Daniel, You can call me Dan, Danny, or just Daniel." Daniel said.

"Okay Daniel! Now come on, we're short one teammate for hoof ball!" Feather said excitedly, flying back down towards the ground. Daniel followed after, chuckling slightly. Once on the ground, the two teams stood on seperate sides of the field. It was a variety of different kinds of ponies. "Diamond Tiara, I found a teammate!" Feather said, Daniel walked up behind Feather.

"Yeah, so how exactly do we play this?" Daniel asked.

"You don't, we already have all of the pegasi members, we need a unicorn to complete the team." Diamond snickered. Daniel shrugged, and his wings shrank and he grew out a horn.

"There, so how do we play?" Daniel asked, grinning widely.

"Uh, you know, I should have seen that one coming, fine, unicorns are the protecters of the field, the block pegasi attack on us, the earth ponies, the earth ponies job is to get the hoof bal into the goal at the other end of the field. Unicorns can only use these, to fire at attacking pegasi, with levatation." Diamond paused and pointed towards a pile of strangely colored balls, about the size of tennis balls. upon inspection, daniel found them to be filled with water. Water balloons. "Any questions?" Diamond asked.

"Yeah, one, how exactly to Pegasi attack?" Daniel asked.

"That's simple, they drop water bombs, the same kind you're throwing." Diamond Tiara said. Daniel nodded. "Alright, they get jerseys today, so anypony without a jersey is on our team." Diamond called, there were several nodds of understanding. "Alright, let's get started!"

The unicorns and Daniel stood in a circle on the center of the field, and the earth ponies lined up behind them, the egasi in the air made the same circle. A whistle was blown, and everypony scattered, the earth ponies going after the ball in the center, and the unicorn and pegasi grabbing water bombs. Daniel grabbed three, two with his hands, and one with his magic. The other team got the hoof ball, but Feather dropped one on the earthpony carrying the ball, and Diamond Tiara grabbed it, and began running it to the other side, Daniel saw a pegasus filly about to drop a water bomb, so he fire his, and it hit dead on, causing her to drop the water balloon on the ground, Diamond Tiara kept going, and three more pegasi tried dropping water bombs on her, she avoided two, but the third was coming directly at her. One of the unicorns, a small one named Pipsqueak, fired his water bomb at the one coming down, hitting it, causing them both to blow up in a shower of, well, water. A pgasus was gaining on Diamond, and Daniel fired both water bombs, one hitting the pegasus, and the other catching the other bomb as it dropped. A pegasus saw that Daniel had no more water bombs, and dropped his bomb, Daniel grabbed it in midair, and fired it back at the pegasus, who dodged it, it splashed somewhere unimportant.

"Whoa!" The pegasus yelled. Daniel chuckled.

"Surround her!" Applebloom, the captain of the other team, yelled. Daniel ran up to Diamond Tiara, ready to defend her. Several more of his team's unicorns ran up to defend her as well, one passing another water bomb to Daniel.

"Thanks." Daniel muttered. The unicorn, Snails, nodded.

"Oh yeah eh, no problem!" He replied. The pegasi came down close to Diamond Tiara as she got close to the goal, Diamond looked up, and curled up.

"Keep going! We have you covered!" Daniel yelled. Diamond nodded, and started to run again, as two pegasi dropped their bombs, and Daniel and Snails fired their own, causing them to hit the others. Another pegasus filly, named Scootaloo, dropped her bomb, but not on Diamond Tiara, but on Daniel, soaking him. "Was that really necassary?" Daniel called.

"No, but it sure made me feel better!" Scootaloo called. Another pegasus, on Daniel's team, dropped a water bomb on her.

"Carma always bites!" Daniel called with a laugh. Diamond was almost at the goal, when a water bomb dropped on her head. She kept on going,hesitating only for a second. Applebloom sent around to her left side, and another earth pony colt flanked her right side, Diamond was surrounded. She passed it quite suddenly to a dark grey earth pony, named Silver Spoon, who carried it the rest of the way to the goal. Daniel's team cheered.

"We won!" Feather called cheerfully.

"Next time, our team gets Daniel." Applebloom said cheerfully. She walked up to Daniel and stuck out her hoof. "Good game." Daniel took it.

"Good game indeed." Daniel replied. Cherilee called them inside, now that their game was over.
