Heart Souls: The Loss of Harmony
Chapter 38
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTears would fall from Bright's eye. He'd slowly walk towards her and kneel. The mare with a cart full of apples was taken aback; is this some kind of prank she wondered?
"Oh, is this some rolepayin the young folks doin? Seriously, arnt you fellas too old for this? Although I do admit yer costumes are quite fancy; very nice." She pondered as she observed Bright's armor.
" Milady, I have failed you... Please punish me so I may repent!" Bright blurted out of nowhere.
" Now wait just a garsh darn moment here! You're adults that fillys would look up ta, especially when yer cosplayin. So ya better set a good example on the yungins, or else they'll end up copyin ya. And we don't want em overdoin it like what yer doin now. Now grow up and act like an adult, ya hear me? None of this over the top playin, capish?" She stared hard at Bright to get an answer from him, and he gave a nod.
" Good, now get out of the way; I have some work to do, and so should you lot. Good day." The mare waved farewell and went to the village to do her errands, while the knights still loitered at the village entrance.
" Umm. Who's that?" Bluebell asked.
Quilt also wanted to know this but didn't want to look like she was prying on her brother's life. She was glad that Bluebell brought this up and is all ears on the story; the rest felt the same, except for Bubbles.
" That mare was Lady Applejack."
The nosy ponies didn't expect her to answer that.
" Wait... Isn't she one of the elements!?" Tapper yelped.
" Wai-wait wait... We fightin two of em!? We just gut lucky from Fluttershy!" Treasure complained.
"excuse me."
Bright didn't like what came out of Treasure's mouth. He unsheathes his sword.
"oh my..."
" What are you implying?" He points his sword towards Treasure.
" Hey! What's yer problem!" Treasure seems to not back down.
" Oh, please, don't fight..."
Bubbles would try to go between the two. "If we're pulling ranks, then I outrank you all. Bright, Your blade is mine! Lower it right now!" She commanded.
Tapper would scootch near Quilt and ask, "Shouldn't you also stop them?"
Quilt didn't care and was actually anticipating a fight. " Yes, I should," she said with a cold look towards Treasure.
Tapper felt something was wrong and didn't push it and let it be. While the others are stomped and panicking on what to do.
Eventually Bright would calm down and sheath his sword, but his gaze is still glared towards Treasure.
" Get yer priorities right. Remember, we're here to get them elements and save our dyin world. Or ya gunna fail us again and throw your troubles to the next generation?" Treasure pointed out.
This struck a cord on Bubbles. "Oh? Big talk for a spoiled brat?"
Treasure gulped as he accidentally involved Bubbles.
" Uh, nevr mind, forget I said anythin..." He retracted his previous scuff.
" Friends shouldn't fight..."
Meanwhile, Bluebell remained silent and wide-eyed, as she's the only one who noticed Fluttershy there, who's trying to calm the situation with her small and timid voice.
Quilt saw the situation die down and decided to enter the conversation, "Now that everyone calmed down, I think it's best we retreat and camp at the forest. There we should plan our next course of action." Everyone agreed and followed her back to where they came from, except for Bluebell, who continued to stare at Fluttershy.
"I guess it all went well for you all. How nice."
She'd wave goodbye to Bluebell and went inside the village. She too would wave goodbye and follow the rest back to the forest.
As they trotted back, the tension with each other didn't stop, as they were in a problematic state. Bright could not be trusted; two of the elements are together, and they are outmatched by their opponent.
" We better find a spot near the river and also a good patch of grass for us ta eat." Treasure suggested.
" Shouldn't we worry about Fluttershy's animals hunting us down on the woods?" Cross asked.
"Well since we got to Ponyville, I barely sensed their presence. Actually, I barely feel any of them followed us at all, except for the birds, but they stopped too." Bubbles pointed at the sky, and there are no birds following them; there's actually no birds at all, even on the trees; not even a chirp, which was quite awkward as random birds varying from sweet to creepy would be the background noise of the forest, but now. It's eeriely quiet.
" Hey Bluebell, Cross, can you do a check for us for ghosts or anything?" Quilt requested.
They both looked at each other and gave a nod. They began to cast their spells, and their answers would be given.
None.
" That's weird... There's nothing here; I can't even detect you guys; did I cast it wrong?" She questioned herself.
Meanwhile, Cross couldn't answer if his worked or not and just gave a shrug for an answer.
" Bluebell, even with your childlike behavior, you've been dependable and trustworthy, as a knight should be. You better not be messing around now." Bubbles gave caution to Bluebell's action.
" Wa-wait... Let me try again." But still nothing.
" That's strange. I'm sure I did it right..."
" Everyone, I think we have a bigger problem." Quilt pointed at a treehouse that they had previously sunk to the ground—Fluttershy's tree house. But this time it looked different.
It was smaller, had a nice look to it, and was quite homey. One would say it looked cute and lovely, unlike the haunted look it gave before.
" Oh if you thought that's big, then you won't believe that Fluttershy's still alive," Bluebell added.
Everyone looked at her either angrily or shocked.
" What? When?" Cross asked, confused by the events.
" And you told us NOW?" Quilt questioned.
The frustrated Treasure sighed and vented out his frustration. "So we're faitin Three of em... I bet we fightin all of em at the same time. I bet my guts on this!"
"Hey, don't jinx us!" Tapper complained.
" W-why were you the only one who noticed her?" Bubbles asked.
"Well, everyone was busy fighting each other; she was actually trying to help calm the situation, but she was too meek."
"Where did she go?" Bubbles then asked.
But before she could answer, Quilt would interrupt. " Please, before we go on our separate ways, I suggest we make camp so we know where to meet later. I have a bad feeling that a lot of you are going to do something stupid; the least you guys can do is know where to meet up."
"Then a camp it is," Bright agreed.
But as soon as they set hoof at Everfree Forest, they were blocked by a haze that they couldn't go through.
Tap tap, tud tud.
" Yup, that's solid alright," Tapper announced.
Bluebell cast a fireball, but that one just went through. "Well, I guess my magic still works. Although... I'm not sure if it's just me.... But, why?" She pondered.
"More problems. So what now?" Quilt asked.
" Well, I guess we'll ask for shelter." Bubbles pointed to Ponyville.
