No Hitter (featuring Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo)

It was a normal day here in Canterlot City. Rainbow and Scootaloo were getting ready for the big game in Dragon Land.

“Come on, Scoots. We can't be late for the big Dragon Ball game.” Rainbow Dash said, in a rush to make it to the Dragon Ball game.

“You bet!” Scootaloo replied as Rainbow got off her bed to fetch her Dragon Scale.

“Can I pitch in the game today?” Scoots asked.

“Okay, squirt…” Rainbow replied as she opened the closet. She misinterpreted Scootaloo’s request and was cut off by her.

“Oh, sweet!” Scootaloo shouted in excitement. She thinks Rainbow accepted her request, but she’s about to find out that she’s wrong.

They put on their dragon badges, held the dragon scale together and said the magic phrase: "I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with Dragons, in a land apart!” Rainbow and Scootaloo all said in unison as the dragons on Rainbow’s wall flew off and swirled around them all and off they went!

Instantly, they appeared at a kickball field where Quetzal and the dragons were getting ready for the game.

“Hi, everyone!” Scootaloo greeted, obviously ready for some kickball action.

“¡Hola!” Rainbow greeted.

“¡Hola, Rainbow! ¡Hola, Scootaloo!” Quetzal greeted them back, happy that they made it.

“You're just in time…” Cassie said before Ord continued, “...for a team hug!”

The dragons all walk to the duo to give them a hug. It lasted until Quetzal explained the rules: “Okay, niños, let's go over the rules again. When the pitcher rolls the ball to you, kick it as hard as you can and run! If you can get all of the way around the bases, before anyone tags you with the ball, you get a point.”

“…and the team with the most points, at the end of the game, wins!” Zak explained.

“Correcto, Zak, but more important than winning…” Quetzal explained before Wheezie continued “...is having FUUUUUUUUUN!!!!!!!” All while she was blowing her trumpet.

“Okay, niños, play ball!” Quetzal commanded, thus beginning the game.

A red dragon puts down the ball as Rainbow and Scootaloo run to it. Rainbow picks it up but is cut off by Scootaloo running up to it as well. She wanted to pitch the ball, but Rainbow was pitching instead.

“Give me the ball, Rainbow.” Scootaloo commanded.

“What for?” Rainbow asked, confused.

“I'm pitching.” Scootaloo pointed out as Rainbow glared at her in confusion and annoyance.

“No way! You're playing out there with Ord.” Rainbow commanded as she pointed to Ord, who's waving.

“But you said I could pitch!” Scootaloo yelled.

“Did not!” Rainbow yelled back.

“Did too! In your room!!” Scootaloo yelled again, obviously getting a little mad.

“Did not!! Just go out and play with Ord, squirt!” Rainbow commanded, getting mad too.

“It's not fair!!” Scootaloo yelled, obviously not having what Rainbow’s saying to her. Suddenly, Scootaloo slapped Rainbow’s arm really hard, causing her to drop the ball to the ground. Woah! Talk about an over-reaction!

“Ow! That hurt!” Rainbow cried out as Quetzal walked over to the field.

“Scootaloo hit me!” Rainbow cried out as she rubbed her arm.

“Why did you hit your sister, Scootaloo?” Quetzal asked, trying to find out what happened.

“She said I could pitch!” Scootaloo replied in anger.

“I never said that!” Rainbow replied back.

“Did so! I asked you before we left home and you said, ‘okay’!” Scootaloo said, still in anger.

“I said, "Okay let's go." I didn't hear you ask to pitch! You should listen next time, squirt!” Rainbow answered. Luckily, Quetzal broke up the argument before things got ugly.

“All right, niños! Go ahead and pitch, Rainbow. Scootaloo, we need to talk.” Scootaloo walks away angrily from Rainbow with Quetzal off the field. An orange dragon kicks the ball after Rainbow rolls it. It was going high.

“Get it, Cassie!” Rainbow commanded as Ord tells the pink dragon to throw it to him.

Cassie runs as she tries catching the ball. She whacks it to Ord with her tail, but it lands in his pouch.

“Where did it go?” Ord asked, who was confused about where the ball went.

“In your pouch! Hurry!” Rainbow answered.

Ord gets the ball out from his pouch, but the orange dragon makes a home run. That means 1 point to the away team.

Score:

Home Team (Team Rainbow and Scoots) - 0

Away Team - 1

Meanwhile, Scootaloo is watching off field with Quetzal to reflect what she did to Rainbow.

“The game is starting, Quetzal!” Scootaloo points out, not wanting to miss the game.

“I know, it's okay to be angry, Scoots, but the first rule in Dragon Land is that you cannot hit anyone.” Quetzal explained.

“But I want to pitch!” Scootaloo replied, still feeling annoyed.

“I understand, but you must never, ever hit. Next time you get angry, Scoots, use your words, not your fists. Just say how you feel, but don't hit.” Quetzal continued.

“All right. Can I go play? I feel ready.” Scootaloo requested. Quetzal accepted the request, therefore Scootaloo’s back in the game.

“Sí, but if you hit someone again, I'll have to take you out of the game.” warned Quetzal.

“Got it!” Scootaloo replied as she ran next to Ord. Rainbow throws the ball to one of the dragons from the other team, who kicks it to Scootaloo.

“I got it!” Scootaloo yells out. Suddenly, Ord blocks him and catches it before she can.

“No fair! I was going to catch it!” Scootaloo yelled out, clearly disappointed that she didn’t catch the ball. The good thing is that she didn’t get all physical about it.

“Sorry, Scoots. You'll get the next one.” Ord promised.

“Good work, Scootaloo! You used your words!” Quetzal praised as she walks away from Ord.

Score:

Home Team (Team Rainbow and Scoots) - 1

Rainbow throws the ball to one of the dragons from the other team, who kicks it to Zak and Wheezie.

“Oh, oh, oh... I got it!” Wheezie shouts out. “You mean we both got it! Because we only have two hands.” corrected Zak just before the ball landed in Wheezie’s mouth. “Toooooooold 'ya!” Wheezie said with the ball still in her mouth while Zak chuckled and was feeling proud of her sister. The dragons from their team cheer about Wheezie’s accomplishment, while three of the dragons from the other team surprisingly and disappointingly watch after their teammate gets eliminated.

Score:

Home Team (Team Rainbow and Scoots) - 2

Away Team - 1

Rainbow throws the ball to a red dragon, who tries to kick it to Scootaloo.

“Look out, Ord! I got it, I got it!” Scootaloo yelled out as she ran to catch the ball.

“It's yours, Scoots!” Ord cheered.

Scootaloo tries to catch the ball, but she blinks, and it bounces in front of him and lands in Ord's hands. Ord was feeling embarrassed that he catched the ball even though he let Scootaloo catch it.

“No fair! That was my ball! I was supposed to catch it!!” Scootaloo gets mad again and kicks Ord's tail.

“OW!! Ooh, ooh, oh my tail!! YOU HURT MY TAIL!!!” Ord begins to cry. Scootaloo is starting to feel guilty that he had hurt her best friend. Rainbow Dash, Zak, Wheezie, Quetzal and Cassie walked over to him and Scootaloo.

“Are you okay, Ord?” asked Quetzal, concerned about what happened.

"I tried to let Scootaloo catch it, but she closed her eyes and the ball bounced in front of her. I wasn't even trying to get it, but it landed right in my arms and--and--and then she kicked my tail!” Ord answered tearfully.

“He didn't let me catch the ball!” Scootaloo pointed out, angry and guilty about what she did.

“Entiendo, but you're going to have to come out of the game for a while.” Since Scootaloo hit Ord too (just like when she hit Rainbow Dash), she is being taken out of the game for a while.

“Without Scoots, we only have four players on our team, and they have five!” Cassie explained, disappointed.

“We'll never win now!” Zak said, doubting that his team will win.

Several minutes passed, Rainbow threw the ball to a blue dragon. The blue dragon kicks it, taking first base.

At time out, Scoots and Quetzal were chatting.

“Did you see how sad Ord was when you hit him, Scoots?” asked Quetzal.

“I used my words, but he didn't listen.” complained Scootaloo.

“Well, the next time you feel like hitting somebody, stop and find something to hit instead.” Quetzal advised.

“Huh?” Scoots replied. Soon, she found a basket with some balls. “Like Dragon Balls?” she asked.

“SÍ! ¡Perfecto, Scootaloo! You can hit them as hard as you want, and nobody gets hurt.” said Quetzal.

Scoots then tips the basket over and kicks a few dragon balls.

“Oh, yeah!” said Scoots, who is finally in a good mood. She kicks some more balls, impressing Quetzal.

A few minutes pass, and a red dragon throws the ball to Zak and Wheezie. They tried kicking it, but they missed.

“¡Está bien! Give it another try, niños!” encouraged Quetzal.

“We only have one more try, Zak! Time for my special kick!!!” Wheezie said

“Don't do it, Wheezie!! Remember what happened the last time?!” Zak said, nervous, just when the red dragon suddenly throws the ball again.

"Yeah! I really gave it a... kick!" Wheezie said before they could kick the ball. Unfortunately, they missed again and fell to the ground. With that, they’re out.

“Ouch!” reacted Quetzal as he chuckled, “Better luck next time, niños.”

“I'm up!” Rainbow said.

“We're losing by three!” Cassie said

“You got to get a point, Rainbow Dash!” Ord commanded.

“On it!” Rainbow said.

Then, the red dragon throws the ball to Rainbow, who kicks it.

“Huh?” The blue dragon said, looking confused.

Everybody claps and cheers while Rainbow's running. The ball lands on the purple dragon, who throws it on the ground. That dragon picks it up and throws it to the orange dragon and everybody cheers.

“You did it!!” Cassie said

“Hooray!!!” Everyone cheered, proud of Rainbow’s run.

“Cassie, you're up!” Quetzal signaled as Cassie began her turn. The red dragon throws the ball to Cassie, who kicks it.

“I kicked it! I KICKED IT!!!” Cassie cheered, but there was no time to celebrate yet.

“Run, run!!! Everyone cheered.

Cassie runs but gets caught in the middle of two other dragons, the Cyan Dragon and the purple dragon.”

“Uh, oh!” Cassie said. She didn’t know what to do, until she got an idea.

“What's that?” Cassie asked as she pointed up to the sky to form a distraction. The two dragons look up but don’t see anything.

“See 'ya!” Cassie taunted, having tricked the two dragons so she could get by.

“HEY!!!” the Cyan Dragon yelled. Suddenly, the purple dragon throws the ball, which lands on the orange dragon's head while Cassie runs.

“All right, Cassie!!” Rainbow yelled out in excitement.

“Way to go!!” Ord said.

“Yay, Cassie!!!” Everyone cheered.

Score:

Home Team (Team Rainbow and Scoots) - 5

After that, everyone switched sides.

“Now do you think you're ready to play without hitting, Scoots?” asked Quetzal.

“Uh huh!” Scoots said.

“Well, what are you waiting for? Go get 'em!” Quetzal encouraged.

“YEAH!!!” Scoots said as she got off the rock and got back in the game. Rainbow throws the ball to the cyan dragon. The cyan dragon kicks it to Scoots.

“Got it!” Scoots said, having to catch the ball after it bounced a few times.

“Tag him, Scoots! Tag him!!” Ord cried.

“Nyah, nyah! Can't tag me!” taunted the Cyan Dragon as he runs along with Scootaloo chasing him.

“Oh!” grunted Scoots. Scoots felt so mad… she felt like she wanted to hit, just like she did to Rainbow Dash and Ord, but remembers what Quetzal told her.

“Yes, I can!” Scoots said. Just like that, she tags the cyan dragon out.

“He's out, yeah!! Way to go, Scoots!” Everyone cheered.

Score:

Home Team (Team Rainbow and Scoots) - 6

After that, the teams switched sides. The red dragon, who throws the ball to Ord.

“Go, Ord!!"! Everyone cheered as the ball traveled all over the field.

“I'm going to get a point! I'm...!” Ord cheered. But however, the orange dragon on third base tags him out before he can reach the base.

“Gotcha!” said the Orange Dragon, tagging Ord out. Everyone groans in disappointment as Ord gets tagged out and he walks away sadly.

Score:

“Sorry, Ord. Zak and Wheezie, you're up!” Quetzal signaled. Zak and Wheezie walk to start their turn since they’re on the field.

“We have to get two more points!” Cassie said.

“You two can do it!” Ord said.

“I know you can!” Rainbow Dash cheered.

“Not so hard this time! Okay, Wheezie? My scales are still rattling from last time” suggested Zak as he still felt dazed from that last kick. He also puts a helmet on his head.

“I can't help it, Zak! I just love Dragon Ball!...” Wheezie said “...It's such a kick!!” The red dragon throws the ball to Zak and Wheezie, who kick it.

“Run!!!” Everyone cried. With that, Zak and Wheezie ran with everyone cheering them on. Suddenly, the ball lands on the red dragon, who throws it to the cyan dragon. Zak and Wheezie gasp and run. Luckily, they made it to base.

“They did it!! Rainbow cheered. Everyone cheered and were very proud of their accomplishment.

“Okay, Scootaloo, you're up!” Quetzal signals, as Scootaloo takes home base. Everyone was cheering her on. They were all hoping she would get one more point so she could win it for the team.

“If you get a point, we win!” Cassie cheered.

“Don't worry, I'm a great kicker.” Scoots said, confident that she’s going to win it all for the team.

“Yeah, I know.” Ord said, rubbing and holding his hurt tail. The red dragon throws the ball to Scootaloo. She tries to kick it but misses and starts to get angry.

“No fair! That was too fast!!” Scoots complained. Scoots stomps his foot in frustration and his friends look worried. The red dragon throws the ball to Scootaloo again. She tries to kick it, but she fails again and falls to the ground. Scoots gets very angry this time and is getting ready to walk over to where the red dragon is and hit him.

“Seriously?!?!” Scoots yelled.

“Scootaloo, remember what I told you.” Quetzal reminded.

“I know, but what else can I hit?!” Scoots complained. Suddenly, the red dragon throws the ball to Scoots once more and she finally kicks it. She was impressed by how hard she kicked it, so was the red dragon.

“Go, Scoots!!! Run!!! You can do it! Keep running!!!” They cheered. The ball lands in the cyan dragon's arm. Scoots crawls under the cyan dragon's arms to avoid getting eliminated, causing the cyan dragon to lose his hat while looking down.

“Huh?!” Cyan Dragon said, confused. The cyan dragon throws the ball, but it hits the orange dragon on the nose, and Scoots makes it to home base, sliding hands-first in the dirt.

“I did it!!! I got a hit, without hitting anyone!!!” Scoots said, excitedly triumphant.

“Hooray!!!” Ord cheered.

“We won!!!” Cassie cheered as Ord lifted Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo and Cassie up to hug them.

“Oh, yeah! We rock!” Rainbow cheered.

With that, team Rainbow and Scoots won the game! They had so much fun with it too. Having fun is more important than winning after all. Scootaloo's dragon badge starts glowing. She has learned that using her words is a better way of expressing feelings. She also learned that no one should ever resort to violence.

Final score:

Home Team (Team Rainbow and Scoots) - 8

Away Team - 7

After the game, it was time to go home. “I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.” Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash said in unison as they went back home.

In an instant, the two are taken back to Rainbow’s bedroom with trophies.

“We're the Dragon Ball champs, Scoots!” Rainbow cheered.

“Yeah! Did you see the way I kicked the ball, Rainbow Dash? Just like this!” Scoots bragged as she kicked in the air, but her shoe came off and landed onto Rainbow’s trophy.

“Score! Way to go, Squirt!” Rainbow exclaimed as they both fist bump and laugh.
