Quetzal's Magic Pop-Up Book (featuring the Rainbooms, Diamond Tiara, the CMCs and Spike)

It was another great day at Canterlot High and the Rainbooms, Diamond Tiara, the CMCs and Spike were talking about what to give to their new dragon friends a book for story time in a group online chat.

“So, guys, any perfect books that you found to bring to Quetzal to read for story time today?” Sunset asked through video chat. “I brought mine of Equestrian History”.

“I brought books of the whole Daring Do series.” Rainbow Dash said.

“Bought a book about animal husbandry.” Fluttershy replied.

“Sweetie and I picked books about fashion.” said Rarity.

“Spike and I brought books of science and history.” Sci-Twi replied.

“I have a book of royalty and riches.” Diamond replied.

“I brought a book about parties and culinary sweet desserts.” Pinkie said

“Apple Bloom and I picked a book on planting apples.” Applejack said.

"Well, I picked mine that is all about extreme sports." Scootaloo replied.

“Great! Now, which book will Quetzal pick for us?” Sunset replied.

“Now that’s a good question…” Sci-Twi said. “Let’s just see what Quetzal thinks about which book he’ll pick.”

Seconds later, everyone opens their closets, puts their dragon badges on, got their dragon scales out as they get ready. “I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons, in a land apart.” They all said in unison as the dragons on their walls fly off and swirl around them all and off they went!

Sometime later, they all re-materialized in the School in the Sky, where their dragon friends are going there too.

“Hey, wait for us!” Sunset said.

They ran and said hi to their dragon friends.

“Did you bring a book, guys?” asked Ord.

“We did.” Sci-Twi replied.

They brought in their favorite books, and their dragon friends loved them. Then they walked in the building where Quetzal was waiting for them patiently.

“Hola, niños.” greeted Quetzal. “Come. Sit down.” he said.

The Rainbooms, the CMC, and Diamond asked them to read each story, but Quetzal said; “I'm glad you're all so anxious for me to read to you. But I'm afraid I can't possibly read every book today.”

“Why?” Apple Bloom said in protest.

Everybody groaned and complained why he couldn't read them today, but Quetzal had an idea.

“I know just the thing!” he said.

Quetzal walked into his shelf and grabbed a big book with the cover of a castle.

“A book about a castle? What does that have to do with storytime?” Sci-Twi said.

“That’s what we’re about to find out.” Sunset said.

“Wow. It's Quetzal's Big Storybook.” Ord said in amazement.

This isn't my Big Storybook, niños. This is my Magic Pop-Up Book.” Quetzal explained.

“Magic? You mean—” Sunset replied.

“Cool!” said Scoots.

Sweetie asked, “So, which story are you going to read to us?”

“I am not going to read any of them.” Quetzal replied.

Everyone groaned and complained why they couldn't, despite it being a “magic popup book” that resembles a castle.

Quetzal explained while pouring magic onto the book as the book glows; Because with this storybook, all you have to do is say the magic words "I imagine," and you can go into the book and make up any story you want.

He handed the book to Ord and said, “Try it.”

“Go ahead, Ord, say the word.” said Cassie.

Ord was reluctant, so he decided to give it to Cassie. He said, "You say it."

Cassie was handed the book and said, “Me? I think Fluttershy should say it.” she said as she hands Fluttershy the book.

“Okay.” Fluttershy replied. “Wow.”

Then she said the words, “I imagine.” Just then, just like a vacuum cleaner the rest of the gang starts to get sucked into the book just like magic! Suddenly, they were gone.

“Enjoy your story, niños.” said Quetzal.

Suddenly, the gang starts flying through a portal of pictures and words. They were flying and flying until they arrive at the white void, similar to the Construct from the Matrix.

“Where are we?” Zak asked, confused about where they are.

“Inside Quetzal’s pop-up book……. I think.” Wheezie replies, knowing that she’s right.

“But where’s the story?” Cassie asked, not seeing anything for a story anywhere.

“Yeah. And the pop-up stuff?” Diamond complains

“Quetzal said we can make up our own story.” Zak reminds.

“Well, maybe we have to say what we imagine, like ‘I imagine………wild flowers!’” Wheezie commanded, as a field of flowers suddenly appears as a story setting.

“A jungle adventure!” Scootaloo announced.

“Exactly like Daring Do!” Rainbow Dash agreed as everything changed into a jungle.

“I was imagining a tea party.” Zak suggested, as a table appears in front of the group, complete with a teapot and teacups.

“Yeah. With lots of big stuff to eat!” Ord spoke, with all the food appearing on the table.

“Aw, this is so adorable.” Sweetie Belle replied while Pinkie Pie was smiling even more to show her happiness.

“Oh, come on. This is so childish.” Diamond argued when suddenly the ground started shaking.

“Wh-What did you think of, Ord?” Zak wondered, noting the ground shaking.

“A watermelon.” Ord answered, sheepishly, just as a giant watermelon came rolling straight towards them.

“What about my Daring Do story?!” Rainbow complained.

We’ll finish it later. After we RUN!!!!” Zak yelled as they all ran away from the watermelon until they reached the edge of a cliff.

“We’re trapped!!!” Zak yelled in panic.

“No we’re not! It’s our story. We can imagine anything!” Fluttershy points out, reminding everyone of what they can do in the book.

“Oh, then I imagine NOTHING!!!! Zak yelled out as everyone screamed, fearing that they’re about to get squished by the watermelon. Thankfully, the watermelon disappears to blank along with everything else. Everything is all white again and everyone is relieved that nothing bad happened to them.

“Whew! That was close, yall” Applejack said.

“But fun!” Pinkie Pie replied. “Let’s start another story.”

“Wait! We can't all go at once.” Sci-Twi said, obviously overwhelmed by the way they’re all making stories.

Twilight’s right. We should take turns.” Sunset agreed, before everyone starts talking about who should make which story. The chattering became too much.

Wait! We have to decide who goes when.” Cassie said, coming up with an idea.

“You’re right, Cassie. Let’s pick numbers!” Sunset agreed, with Pinkie Pie pulling out a hat from her hair and Sunset making slips of paper that each had a number written on it. Sunsets put the slips in the hat before everyone started pulling their numbers.

“Hey! We got number 1!” Zak and Wheezie said in unison, excitedly. “Me, too!” Rainbow said.

“I’m second” Ord replied, with Fluttershy showing the number two as well.

“I got 3! Sunset Shimmer said, as Sci-Twi and Spike also show that they got 3 as well.

“Ah’m fourth!” Applejack exclaimed, with Pinkie Pie getting the 4 as well.

“We’re 5!” The CMCs said in unison as Diamond Tiara got a 5 as well.

“Looks like I’m last.” Cassie said, disappointedly, just when she pulled up a 6, realizing that she got the important part of their story. “Which means I get to make up the ending!”

Rarity pulled out a 6 as well. Everyone is happy about the positions of their story.

“Well, I’m Astro Dash of Rainbow Command and I imagine we’re going into outer space!” Rainbow Dash spoke as everything turned into an outer space adventure and they were all on a spaceship. Ord sees something that freaks him out.

“What’s that, Rainbow?” Ord asked, obviously scared of what he saw.

“Dragon beetle aliens!” Scootaloo answered, as the beetles appear in front of them.

“B-B-B-Beetles?! This story’s too scary!! I imagine we’re back on the ground!” Ord freaks out, ending the story abruptly.

“Hey, no fair! My story’s ruined!!” Rainbow Dash complained.

“Yeah!” Scoots agreed, also feeling disappointed.

“It’s not your story, Rainbow and Scoots. It’s supposed to be all of ours!” Cassie said.

“But we picked numbers like Sunset said to!” Scootaloo complained even more.

“Only we didn’t go in order.” Ord replied, obviously finding what’s messing their story up.

“I guess we all got too excited.” Wheezie admitted, sheepishly.

“No matter what we do, our stories keep getting all messed up!” Rarity said, telling everyone what they’re doing wrong.

“Without any surprises.” Zak instructed.

“But surprises are the best part of the story. And I LOVE SURPRISES!!!!” Wheezie yells out.

“Well okay, but only if the surprise doesn’t surprise me.” Zak agrees, while being cautious.

“What should our story be about?” Cassie asked curiously.

“How about………castles?” Rainbow suggested just as everything turns into a fairy-tale world.

“With Knights in shining armor!” Fluttershy continued.

“And a big bad giant!” Wheezie continued, wanting some excitement obviously.

“Not too big.” Zak warned, clearly worried that the giant would be too big for his taste.

“...and lots of dragons!” Ord suggested, clearly forgetting that he’s a dragon.

“Of course there’s going to be dragons, Ord. You are a dragon!” Sweetie Belle said.

“Oh yeah!” Ord replied, sheepishly laughing at his mistake.

“And there were two brave knights.” Rarity narrates, as a silver suit of armor appears with her.

One named Lady Rarity and the other named Little Miss Belle!” Rarity continued, just as a suit of golden armor appeared with her sister. It wasn’t long before the visor of her armor fell.

“Hey! Your story doesn’t fit.” Sweetie Belle complained.

“Shhh! It’s not your turn yet, Sweetie Belle.” Cassie points out, letting Rainbow, Fluttershy and Sci-Twi pony-up and Spike dragon-up so they’ll be ready for a medieval adventure.

“Okay, now it’s your turn, Sweetie Belle.” Cassie signaled before Fluttershy interrupted.

“Wait, remember our order. I’ll help Sweetie Belle with her dilemma. I imagine that Sweetie Belle’s suit fits her better.” Fluttershy said, with Sweetie Belle’s suit beginning to shrink until it fits her size.

Sci-Twi are next “and I imagine the saddles got super rocket boosters. So, hang on!” Rocket boosters appear on the sides of the saddles of Ord, Cassie, Zak and Wheezie. They all blasted off while Sci-Twi, Spike, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy flew behind them.

Once they arrive in the castle, they see a cage at the top of the really tall table. “Look!” Cassie spoke, pointing to the cage. The cage had a little fairy inside it.

“Aww, she's a little fairy princess, and she needs help. We’re gonna save her from the big, bad giant.” Sweetie Belle said, ready to rescue the fairy.

“W-W-W-Why not a nice, little giant?” Diamond asked, nervously.

“You can make him little when it's your turn, Diamond.” Rarity tells her.

“I like big giants.” Applejack suggested, just when they hear giant stomping sounds as they hide. The giant comes in and smells something that’s invading his castle. “Fe, fi, fo, fum, I smell the scales of a puny dragon.”

Just like that, the Rainbooms, CMCs, Spike, Diamond Tiara and their dragon friends come out of hiding.

“What do you want?” the giant asked in curiosity.

“Another story.” Ord stammers.

“No. We wanna save the fairy princess.” Sweetie Belle clarified

“Well, how are you gonna rescue the princess, huh?” the giant asked.

“Maybe we can trade him something.” Sunset suggested.

“Yeah! I know just what the giant likes: Music.” Pinkie Pie said. “I imagine… a drum set.”

Just like that, a drum set magically appeared in front of Pinkie Pie and she is set to play away. The CMCs, Diamond Tiara and Wheezie are set to sing.

♪ All around the dragonberry bush, the giant chased the Wheezie. The giant thought It was all in fun, pop goes the Wheezie! ♪

Wheezie, CMCs and Diamond finish the song with everyone laughing. The giant enjoys it a lot.

“That was great. You can have the fairy princess if I can keep the drum set.” The giant requested, happy from the entertainment he just got from the pink drummer and her recently imagined band.

“Deal.” Pinkie agreed, giving the drums to the giant while he set the princess free. The giant then leaves with the drums magically growing to the size more fitting for him.

“We did it. We saved the fairy princess.” Sweetie Belle stated as everyone celebrated their successful mission.

“It's your turn, Cassie.” Scootaloo said.

“Uh... uh… actually, I want you to say it Rarity” Cassie said.

As you wish, darling. I imagine that everybody lives happily ever after. The end.” Rarity said as everything starts sparkling and they vanish.

Sometime later, they went back to the School in the Sky where Quetzal is waiting for them

“Well, how was your story, niños?” Quetzal asked.

“It was awesome!” Scootaloo replied, excited about the experience everyone went through.

“At first, we were all trying to tell stories at the same time. It was kinda hard. But then, Cassie said we should take turns, so we did, and we made up a really cool story. Do you want to hear it? Huh? Do you, Quetzal?” Ord asked, getting carried away.

“Heh-heh-heh. Si. Tell me all about it.” Quetzal requested. His voice is immediately drowned out by everyone else's. Everyone is so excited that no one can get a word in edgewise.

“Whoa, whoa. Take it easy, niños! One at a time! One at a time!” Quetzal said, chuckling.

“I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.” the Rainbooms, Spike, CMC and Diamond said in unison as they went back home.

Back at home, they’re all having an online video chat again.

“What do you think of our story?” Rarity asked.

“It was amazing! I just wish we all would’ve had that kind of adventure again!” Rainbow Dash replied happily.

“Same here” Scootaloo said as everybody else raised their hands while on camera.
