Goodbye, Little Caterpoozle (featuring Pinkie Pie, Spike, Sweetie Belle and Diamond Tiara)

It was a normal day at Canterlot City and Pinkie Pie, Sweetie Belle and Diamond Tiara are at Fluttershy’s cottage. They are watching over Angel Bunny for the weekend. Fluttershy was just walking in to check on how they’re doing with her little pet.

“Hi, guys. How is my little Angel doing?” Fluttershy asks as Pinkie, Sweetie and Diamond are looking at the bunny that is sleeping like a little angel indeed.

“Angel is really adorable. I wish we could see him again.” Sweetie Belle cooed as Pinkie nodded in agreement.

“I agree with you there. I just wish I had a real animal to hang out with.” Spike said.

Unfortunately, Diamond said otherwise. “As if. I’m not a little child. I can’t take care of the little bunny forever.” she complained as she smirks with her usual attitude.

“Oh, come on, Dai. Have you ever had a pet?” Pinkie asked.

“I have a cat named Dazzle. You see, my family is a cat-loving family. Nothing can change that otherwise.” Diamond answered, just as there was a bright glow coming from Fluttershy’s closet. That means the Dragons are calling them!

“You go have fun in Dragon Land. I’ll stay here to take care of little Angel.” Fluttershy requested as the others nodded in agreement.

Pinkie Pie, Spike, Sweetie Belle and Diamond Tiara went to Fluttershy’s closet, they pull their dragon badges out of their pockets to put them on, held the dragon scale together and said the magic phrase: "I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with Dragons, in a land apart!” they all chanted in unison as the dragons on Fluttershy's wall fly off and swirl around them all and off they go! They were whispering the phrase, so Angel doesn’t wake up.

One flash later, they arrive at their destination to see that Ord, Zak and Wheezie are bouncing on mushrooms.

“Whoa! What are those?” Pinkie Pie asked, seeing those giant mushrooms.

“Hi, girls! Those are all giant mushrooms. They have grown overnight.” Zak replies just as Pinkie and Sweetie join in the fun. Diamond decides to just stay on the sidelines.

“That looks kinda babyish. I’ll be right here if you need me.” Diamond said as she walked to the tree to watch them bounce like frogs.

“Don’t worry, Diamond. I’ll lay beside you if you don’t mind.” Spike asked.

She has accepted Spike’s offer and lets him sit beside her. “Sure, Spike.”

“Look at me, you guys! I’m like a frog!” Pinkie exclaimed just as Cassie arrived with a cage.

“Hi, everyone!” Cassie exclaimed upon arrival.

“Come on, hop with us.” Sweetie Belle said in exhilaration.

“No, thanks. I’m going to play with Poozy. She’s my pet caterpoozle.” Cassie explained as she showed the cage to the others. Everyone stopped bouncing and approached their pink dragon friend. They were all adored by the little pet. Spike even got up to check it out. Diamond just remained at her spot.

“Can I hold her, Cassie?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“Sure. Poozy loves to be snuggled.” Cassie said as she placed the caterpoozle on Sweetie’s hand. The caterpoozle tickles Pinkie as it crawls on her. It wasn’t long before Poozy crawled on Wheezie, tickling her as well. It was then Poozy crawled on Zak’s nose, which unfortunately posed a problem for him.

“I sure am allergic to fuzzy things. I'll get those little red bumps all over me. Take her, Pinkie.” Zak complains just as Pinkie picks up the little pet.

“You're such a cute little poozy-woozy.” Pinkie exclaimed as she kissed the little caterpoozle.

“Ooh! You kissed a caterpoozle.” Ord playfully teased, giggling.

“It’s no worse than kissing a brother.” Wheezie said as she kissed her brother.

“Eeww, sister germs!” Zak complained, disgusted.

“Poozy can do tricks too. Watch.” Cassie explained as she held her little caterpoozle in her open hands for everyone to see. “Roll over, Poozy.” she commanded as Poozy rolled over. Everyone was so impressed.

“Hey, Diamond. Don’t you want to meet Poozy?” Sweetie asked, seeing Diamond Tiara still sitting by the tree.

“Hard pass. I don’t like insects, because they freak me out!” Diamond said, clearly not having any of it.

“Well, okay.” Ord replied.

“All right, it’s time for your lunch Poozy.” Cassie commands as she places Poozy in her cage and Poozy starts eating a leaf.

“Come on, Cassie. Race you to the mushrooms!” Pinkie exclaimed as Cassie everyone hops away. “Don’t you want to join us, Diamond.” she asked, thinking that Diamond was feeling left out.

“No thanks. I don’t do things that are childish.” Diamond Tiara exclaimed, still annoyed.

“Okay, then. We’ll respect your feelings.” Pinkie Pie replied, still kind as ever. Everybody went back to hopping. While they were bouncing and giggling, Poozy finishes eating, shivers and knits a cocoon.

A few moments of bouncing later, Cassie decides to check on little Poozy, but finds that she’s gone!

“Oh, no. Poozy… she’s gone!” Cassie yelled.

“What?!” Spike and Sweetie yelled in unison and shock. Diamond got up and everyone didn’t move a muscle, because she was suddenly worried about Cassie’s pet.

“Come on, everybody. We have to find her.” Pinkie exclaimed as everyone, including Diamond started searching for the little caterpoozle upon cue.

Spike sniffed around in the trees with Pinkie as his guide, but didn’t find the little caterpoozle. Zak looked under a mushroom, but didn’t find Cassie’s pet. Sweetie and Diamond looked in the field of flowers but finds a little baby dandelion. Ord felt that he stepped on something, but it was only a flower. It sure was a relief that he didn’t step on the caterpoozle.

“Poozy’s gone forever!” Cassie yelled, sadly. She was scared that she would never find her little pet.

“Don’t give up, Cassie. We haven’t looked everywhere yet.” Wheezie said just as Diamond Tiara and Spike went and looked inside Poozy’s cage.

“Hey, guys. Come here. Look what we found!” Spike commanded.

“I think we found Poozy.” Diamond spoke as everyone gathered around them.

“Really? That’s so wonderful. Thank you!” Cassie spoke, hugging Diamond Tiara and Spike happily. Unfortunately, Diamond tells her the bad news.

“Unfortunately, it’s sleeping in something white, and I don’t think it’s moving.” Diamond continued as Cassie saw something in the cage that made Cassie think her little caterpoozle passed away. There’s indeed a white shell with Poozy inside, asleep and not moving at all!

“Oh, no. She’s dead! Oh, Poozy!” Cassie shouted as she broke down into tears. Everyone, even Diamond, feels really sorry for the loss. Pinkie’s hair has deflated, and Spike even started to cry. Cassie picks a leaf and wraps it around Poozy when Quetzal stops by.

“What's the matter niños?” Quetzal asked when he saw everyone feeling sad.

“Cassie’s pet Poozy died.” Pinkie replied, with her hair deflated and straight.

“Oh no. I'm sorry to hear that, Cassie.” Quetzal said, feeling sorry.

“I miss her, Quetzal.” she spoke, holding the leaf to her face.

“Si, I’m sure you do.” Quetzal spoke.

“I didn’t even get to say goodbye!” Cassie exclaimed, still crying.

“Well, we'll have to fix that, Cassie.” Quetzal replied.

“How?” she asked.

Quetzal places Poozy in a hole in a tree trunk. They are about to begin the caterpoozle memorial tribute service. “There you go, Poozy. You can say goodbye to her now.” he said to Cassie.

“Goodbye, Poozy. I'll never forget how you used to crawl into my pouch and tickle my tummy.” said Cassie, sadly.

“I really liked your tricks, Poozy. They made me smile.” said Ord.

“I just love the way you made that silly mustache on Zak.” Wheezie said after giggling.

“Yeah, you weren't so bad for an itchy crawly bug.” Zak said.

“Goodbye Poozy. I didn't get to play with you much, but you were really pretty.” Pinkie said.

“Yeah, and you didn't hiss or scratch, like my cat, Dazzle.” Diamond said.

“I’m going to miss you indeed. I never had a real animal to play with before. Well, I had a robotic dog friend of my own.” Spike said.

“Are you going to say something, Quetzal?” Ord asked as Quetzal walked to the cocoon.

“You're very lucky to have had so many good friends, Poozy. Adios.” Quetzal said.

“Thank you, Quetzal. I think I feel a little better now.” Cassie said as Quetzal hugged her.

“Uh.. guys, I’m sure there’s a reasonable explanation…” Pinkie said as somebody’s stomach was growling.

“What was that?” asked Pinkie.

“My tummy growled.” Ord replied

“Perhaps it's time for some dragonberry cookies and milk, no?” Quetzal asked.

“You betcha.” Ord replied

“Sounds great.” Zak replied

“I’ll have a bite.” Sweetie said.

“Tasty! I’m in!” Pinkie said.

“Okay… I’m in.” Spike said.

“I haven’t eaten in a while… so, yeah.” Diamond replied.

“Uh, okay. Cassie said.

“Bueno, I'll make up a batch and be right back.” Quetzal said as he leaves

“Come on, Cassie. Let's go jump on the mushrooms.” Wheezie said.

"Thanks, Wheezie, but I don't feel like it right now." Cassie said.

"You're still thinking of Poozy, aren't you?" Sweetie asked.

“Uh-huh.” replied Cassie.

“Uh… girls, I hate to say this, but…” Pinkie said as she interrupted.

“Maybe we could find you another pet.” Ord said.

“Yeah, there's all kinds of cool creatures in Dragon Land, flapping ones, and bouncy ones.” Wheezie exclaimed.

“Don’t forget itchy ones and stinky ones.” Zak continued.

“But none will ever be as perfect as Poozy.” Cassie said sadly.

“How do you know?” Sweetie asked

“Well…” Cassie tried to answer.

“Come on. Let's go pet hunting!” Pinkie replied.

They start to hunt for a new pet for Cassie, but they have no luck.

Zak and Wheezie find a tiny horse with tiny wings.

“Cassie will love this one.” Wheezie said.

“Eeww!” Zak grossed.

“What do you think, Cassie? It's a Horse Fly.” Wheezie asked as the Horse Fly neighs.

“Uh, no thanks Wheezie.” Cassie replied sadly, just when another fly came by. It’s a Fruit Fly!

“Uh, how about this one, Cassie? Neat Fruit Fly, huh?” Zak asked.

“Fruity tutti rootie.” The Fruit Fly said.

“It's cute, Zak.” Cassie said, just as Diamond finds a tiny animal.

“I found one. I found one. Diamond said, seeing a little beetle roam.

“D-d-don't get too close, Diamond.” Ord said in fear.

“Why not?” asked Diamond.

“Cause that's a Stinky-Dink.” Ord said.

Stinky-Dink sprays Diamond with a foul-smelling smoke-like substance right in her face.

“Eww! Why did I ever get near a bug like that?!” Diamond replied in disgust.

“I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll ever find a pet all of as much as…” Cassie said as she tried to say something, until a purple caterpoozle appeared on her. “Poozy?” she asked.

“That's not Poozy, she's a different color.” Sweetie said.

“She snuggles just like Poozy, and tickles like her too.” Cassie said.

“She sure is cute.” Pinkie said.

“She is, isn't she?” Cassie asked as the caterpoozle cuddled with her.

“I think she likes you.” Spike said.

“She does, doesn't she? I'm going to take real good care of you, but what should I call you?” Cassie said.

“Uh, how about Fuzzy? Zak asked.

“Boring. Let's call her Caterpoozowy!" Wheezie said.

“I know. Ugly-bugly." Sweetie said.

“I don't think any of those names are exactly right." Cassie laughed, just as Quetzal arrived with cookies and milk.

“Hola niños. Galletas. Fresh from the oven, y leche tambien. Quetzal said.

“My favorites!” Pinkie said.

“Look at my new pet, Quetzal.” Cassie said, showing the wise dragon her new pet.

“Magnifico. That's a beautiful caterpoozle, Cassie.” Quetzal said. “What's her name?” he asked.

“Cassie hasn't decided yet.” Sweetie said.

“Yes, I have! I'm going to call her Poozy 2!” Cassie said. Everyone agrees to the name of the new purple caterpoozle, but suddenly, Quetzal realizes something.

“Cassie, was Poozy 1 also a caterpoozle?” Quetzal asked.

“Yes.” Cassie answered.

“Now I understand.” Quetzal said, laughing in realization.

“Understand what, Quetzal?” Ord asked.

“Follow me, niños.” Quetzal ordered as everyone headed back to the tree with the white shell with Poozy inside; it was wiggling.

“I thought so. Watch carefully. She's breaking out of her cocoon.” Quetzal explained, taking notes of the white shell beginning to wiggle faster, then the cocoon wiggled more and broke completely to reveal Poozy in a new form, a fairy with butterfly wings, everyone was amazed by Poozy's transformation..

“What is it?” Cassie asked.

“Yeah, what is it exactly?” Spike said.

“It's a butterfairy.” Quetzal said.

“But I thought Poozy was a caterpuzzle.” Pinkie Pie said.

“Caterpoozle, Pinkie. And she was, but caterpoozles, like many other creatures, change as they grow up, just like you'll change, Pinkie.” Quetzal explained.

“Into a bug?” asked Pinkie.

“No! Into a grown-up.” Quetzal said.

“That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you guys!” Pinkie said. “And all this time, you think someone is dead!” She complained.

Everyone saw Poozie flew away and said their goodbyes, knowing that they’ll miss her.

“Well Cassie, now you have a new pet caterpoozle and a new butterfairy friend.” Quetzal said, as Cassie cuddles Poozy 2.

“Let's take Poozy 2 for a hop around the mushrooms!” Pinkie said, cheerfully.

And so, everyone hopped on the mushrooms and played until it was time for the girls to go back home.

“I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.” Pinkie, Spike, Sweetie, and Diamond said in unison as they went back home.

One flash later, they all return to Fluttershy’s cottage where Fluttershy was finishing feeding Angel.

“How did everything in Dragon Land go today?” she asked.

“You should’ve come. We hopped on giant mushrooms and met an adorable caterpoozle!” Pinkie exclaimed.

“Specifically, it’s the Dragon Land’s version of caterpillars. We thought it died, but I guess we were wrong.” Spike explained, sheepishly.

“It grew up into a butterfairy! A fairy with butterfly wings. You should’ve seen it, Fluttershy.” Sweetie Belle said.

“Oh, well. I wish I could meet a caterpoozle one day.” Fluttershy hoped.

“You can come see one the next time you go.” Sweetie Belle said when everyone hears Angel sleeping. They were adored by the little bunny and Diamond started to have second thoughts about not liking bunnies.

“You know what? I take back what I said about Angel. He’s really sweet and you’re lucky to have a little bunny like him.” Diamond whispered.

“Aw, thanks.” Fluttershy replied as everyone cooed while looking at the little sleeping bunny.
