Calling Dr. Zak (featuring the Rainbooms, Spike, the CMCs and Diamond Tiara)

It all started one day here in Canterlot City as the Rainbooms, Spike, the CMCs and Diamond Tiara having a Zoom meeting about one big problem for Sweetie Belle: being afraid of her check-up.

“Well, darlings. I have a problem with my sister.” Rarity spoke.

“What’s wrong, sugarcube?” Applejack asked as Rarity turned her camera over to her sister, who was feeling nervous and was visibly shaking and whimpering.

“Woah! What happened to you, Sweetie Belle?” Apple Bloom (who is sitting by Applejack) asked, worried about her friend. Unfortunately, Sweetie Belle ignored them.

“You see. Today was supposed to be my sister’s doctor appointment. I tried everything that’ll make her feel better, but nothing worked.” Rarity sighed.

“Really? You sister’s afraid of the doctor?! Oh, please!” Diamond teased as she laughed. Everyone else looked at her, even Spike growled at her.

“What?” she asked, sheepishly.

“I take my animals to the vet on a regular basis. They were afraid, but I comforted them which made them feel better.” Fluttershy explained.

“I tried the same thing with my sister, but it didn’t work either. What will I do?” Rarity asked herself as the others started thinking of ideas.

It wasn’t long Sci-Twi had an idea.

“I got a way to take your sister’s mind off her appointment. Let’s go to Dragon Land and see what our friends are up to.” Sci-Twi requested.

“Yea, good idea sugarcube!” Applejack exclaimed.

“Well, I’ll see you all in Dragon Land then. Diamond, signing off!” Diamond said as she ended her call.

“What are we waiting for? Let’s go, everybody!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed as everyone else ended their chat.

Unfortunately, Rarity saw that her sister wasn't following her.

“What’s wrong, darling? Don’t you like Dragon Land?” she asked, concerned.

“Well, yeah. It’s just that I don’t think going to Dragon Land will make me feel better to be honest. You can go without me.” Sweetie Belle replied, sadly.

“Oh, come on darling! You know it wouldn’t hurt to see our dragon friends again.” Rarity said as Sweetie Belle starts to feel better and starts smiling a bit.

“I guess you’re right, sis. Let’s go.” Sweetie Belle answered.

“Now, that’s the attitude I love, darling!” Rarity exclaimed as she and her sister grabbed and put on their dragon badges.

Everyone opened their closets, put on their dragon badges and held their dragon scales. “I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons, in a land apart.” They all said in unison as the dragons on their walls fly off, swirl around them all and off they go!

In Dragon Land, Cassie and Ord were just relaxing and looking at the sky until their friends suddenly appeared. Ord was excited to see him come back.

“Girls, Spike!” Ord cried in happiness as he gave them a hug.

“Ord.” laughed Cassie

“You brought instruments.” said Ord as he saw the instruments.

“Yep,” Sci-Twi said.

“Have you got yours?” Sunset asked.

“You betcha.” Ord said as he got his saxophone.

Sunset and Ord played their instruments together in perfect sync as they laughed

“Where are Zak and Wheezie?” asked Fluttershy.

Suddenly, the earth started to shake and somewhere near Zak & Wheezie’s home, they flew out their Knuckerhole! Wheezie is wearing a fruit hat.

“Today's the big day. We're going to be in the two-headed dragon contest.” Wheezie said.

“I just know you two are going to win.” Fluttershy said, wishing them good luck.

“Let’s just hope you do. We’ll be rooting for you.” Sunset said.

“Oh, I hope so.” Zak said, nervously

“'Cause I just love dancing. It's so twisty and shouty.” Wheezie said, while dancing happily, and falling on some fruit.

Everyone was impressed at Zak & Wheezie’s dance moves, and everyone laughed happily,

“Come on, Wheeze, we'd better practice one more time.” Zak said, preparing for practice. “Is the band ready?” he asked

“Ready!” Ord and Cassie said.

“Ready!” The Rainbooms said.

“Ready!” The CMC, Diamond & Spike said.

“One, two, three, four…” counted Zak as he prepared the song while the others played their instruments, playing "This Old Dragon”.

♪ This old dragon He played one ♪ ♪ He played knick-knack on my thumb ♪ ♪ With a knick-knack Paddy-whack ♪ ♪ Give a dog a bone ♪ This old dragon came rolling home ♪ sang Zak & Wheezie as they danced in sync.

Suddenly, Zak was spinning fast, almost feeling nauseous.

“Take it easy, Wheeze.” Zak yelled.

“Let's do the next verse even faster.” Wheezie said.

The others played their instruments faster as Wheezie was still singing and dancing faster, causing Zak to feel very very nauseous.

♪ This old dragon He played two ♪ ♪ He played knick-knack on my shoe ♪ sang Wheezie.

“Oh, I think I'm gonna be sick.” moaned Zak, as he was almost gonna throw up.

While the others were still playing their instruments, a Spiny-pine suddenly appeared and started to sniff on an apple, looking like it was very hungry, back at Zak and Wheezie, Wheezie was still singing on the 2nd verse: ♪ With a knick-knack Paddy-whack ♪ ♪ Give a dog a bone ♪ This old dragon came ro… For Zak, he is still nauseous and wanted to stop until he accidentally stepped on the Spiny-pine, causing Zak to scream in pain and agony, scaring the Spiny-pine, as it slithers away. The others looked confused and shocked at what they saw after they stopped playing their instruments.

“OH, I stepped on something really, really sharp.” Zak winced in pain, while hopping on 1 foot.

“It's a Spiny-pine thorn,” said Cassie.

“Good thing you didn’t step on a bug.” Diamond said.

“Oh! Ow! It hurts!” Zak said, wincing in pain.

“Oh, Zaky, it'll be okay.” Wheezie said, comforting her brother.

“Yeah, it’ll be alright.” Sunset said to Zak.

“Maybe we should try to take it out.” Fluttershy said.

“Oh, I don’t know…” Zak said scared.

“I helped my mommy take out my sister’s splinter. She felt much better.” Cassie said, remembering her mother.

“I even remember Princess Celestia taking out a splinter in my hooves back where I came from when I was a filly.” Sunset said.

“Be careful, Cassie.” Zak said scared.

Cassie tried to take the thorn out, but it got even worse. It made the pain even worse as Zak yelled in agony in pain through the nervous systems!

“YEOUCH!!!!!” cried Zak in agony. “Don't touch it anymore.” He said as he was scared that he would start bleeding.

“Maybe we should go see the doctor.” Wheezie said.

“Doctor? No way. Uh-uh. Forget it.” Zak said.

“Why not?” asked Wheezie.

“I just don't.” Zak said, while complaining as Zak and Wheezie fell on the ground due to Zak’s pained hopping.

“Are you okay?” asked Ord.

“I'm fine, but Zaky’s not.” Wheezie said.

“No, I'm not. I'm-- I'm… I'm afraid of going to the doctor.” Zak said fearfully.

“But if we don’t get the thorn taken out of your foot, we won't be able to dance, and–” Wheezie said.

“...and we won't win the dance contest.” Zak continued after what she meant. “I know, Wheezie. I know.”

“Aw.” Cassie said.

“Poor Zak.” Spike said.

“That's awful.” agreed Pinkie Pie, starting to feel sorry for their friend.

Sweetie Belle realized what Zak meant. She too had a fear of going to the doctors for her checkup. She didn’t want to tell them, so she stayed silent.

“I wish I wasn't so afraid, but I just am.” Zak said, scared.

“Back when I was a filly back home in Equestria, I was once scared of going to the doctor but look at me now. I’m now a healthy person in the human world and in Equestria!” Sunset said, remembering her doctor's visit.

“When I was little, I used to be afraid to go to the doctor too.” Rainbow Dash explained.

“Me, three." Apple Bloom replied.

"The doctor always makes me feel better when I get sick, Zak." Fluttershy said.

"Yeah. I went to Dr. Booboogone last week for my checkup and she listened to my heart, looked in my ears & in my throat and she gave me some stickers. I like to stick them all over." Ord explained.

"Who is Dr, Booboogone?" Diamond asked, confused.

"She's our doctor. You'll see her when Zak gets over his fear of the doctor." Cassie answered.

"Will I get stickers too?" Zak asked, still nervous.

"Of course." agreed Cassie.

"So, you'll take us to the doctor, Zak?" Scootaloo asked.

"Well..." Zak spoke.

"If you’re lucky, she'll give you some yummy cherry-tasting medicine." Sci-Twi spoke.

"Medicine? Ew! I hate medicine." Zak exclaimed, grossed out.

"What's so wrong with medicine? Are you really a scaredy dragon who can't give yourself medicine, because you want to get sick forever?" Diamond teased. Everyone started giving her dirty looks.

"What? What did I say?" she asked, trying to act innocent.

"Come on, Wheezie, let's just go home." Zak said as Sweetie Belle began to feel sad for her friend.

"But, Zak, we've practiced so hard for the dance contest." Wheezie exclaimed in disappointment.

"No. It’s gonna hurt. It's gonna hurt." Zak spoke, scared.

"How can we show Zak that going to the doctor ain’t so bad?" Applejack asked, wanting to help.

"Maybe, we could play pretend doctor." Sweetie Belle spoke.

"Really? Oh, please. I don't want any part of childish acts." Diamond said, annoyed by her friend's request.

"Well, pretending makes things fun." Pinkie said.

"Even things that are scary?" Fluttershy asked.

"Of, course." Sunset exclaimed.

"Can we try, Zaky? Please?" Wheezie begged. Eventually, Zak gave in and agreed with the idea.

"Oh, okay..." he answered.

A few moments later, Zak and Wheezie were lying down on a flat boulder. They were ready for the pretend checkup.

"I-- I don't know if this is such a good idea." Zak complained, looking at Ord, Cassie and the Rainbooms in doctor outfits.

"Don't worry, sugarcube, we know just what we’re doing." Applejack replied.

"We'll be right here, darlings." Rarity yelled out as she was far from the view with Sweetie Belle and Diamond Tiara. The 2 girls didn't want to be part of any of it. Sweetie Belle is still nervous, despite being the one who came up with the idea. Diamond Tiara just thinks the whole thing is too childish for her taste.

"Dr. Cassie, check the patient's knee." Sunset commanded.

"Okay, Dr. Sunset." Cassie replied as she tapped Zak's knee with her knee-reflex hammer. Nothing had happened.

"Nothing happened." Cassie complained.

"Try a little harder." Apple Bloom said as Cassie tapped a little harder. Wheezie's knee kicked up, which forced the pretend doctor kit in the air and everything fell on them.

"Love it!" Wheezie exclaimed in excitement, loving the silliness of what went on.

"Dr. Bloom, please check the patient's mouth." Sunset commanded.

"Okay, Dr. Sunset." Apple Bloom replied as she took out her tongue depressor. "Open wide, Zak." she commanded as Zak did as he was told. "Say 'aah.'" she continued. Everyone realized what was going to happen to her.

"Apple Bloom, get down!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed in panic as Zak did as Apple Bloom told him to do and said "aah,". He breathed a little bit of fire, as everyone including Apple Bloom ducked down. They were okay, except for Apple Bloom's bow. She had to stomp the flames out her bow. Unfortunately, she can't wear it anymore. It's just too burned up now.

"Oops, sorry Apple Bloom." Zak said, sheepishly.

"That's okay, Zak. I always have spare bows anyway. No big deal." Apple Bloom replied.

"That's why dragons never say 'ah.'" Ord explained.

"That sure was close, darlings." Rarity said as Sweetie Belle got even more nervous. Seeing that made her feel even more scared of going to her checkup as Rarity comforted her more.

"Well, let's listen to Zak’s heart." Sci-Twi steps in as she takes out her stethoscope, which she places over Zak's heart. He was curious and wanted to know what his heartbeat sounded like. "It sounds just fine, Zak." she said.

"Really?" Zak asks as he motions Sci-Twi to give him her stethoscope. She does just that and Zak puts the tool over his heart. He was relieved to hear that his heartbeat is normal. He found that beat is perfect to make music with! ♪ Ba-boom, ba-boom Ba-boom, ba-boom ♪ ♪ Ba-boom-boom-boom Boom-boom-boom ♪

♪ The doctor's gonna fix Zak ♪ Wheezie sang as everybody got their tools out and sang along. ♪ The doctor's gonna fix Zak ♪ ♪ The doctor's gonna fix Zak ♪

Rarity joined in with Sweetie Belle singing alongside her. Diamond Tiara is hesitant, but she noticed that they're having fun. She knew she didn't want to be alone, so she joined in as well.

♪ The doctor's gonna fix me ♪ ♪ The doctor's gonna fix me ♪ ♪ The doctor's gonna fix me ♪ Zak sang as everyone did the same. Eventually, they finished the song as they all laughed happily. Zak's finally feeling happy.

"Hey. I’m not so scared of the doctor anymore!" He exclaimed as everyone cheered for him and his accomplishment.

"That's the spirit, sugarcube!" Applejack cheered.

"Let's go. We'll meet Dr. Booboogone, won't we girls?" Pinkie asked as everyone nodded yes. Unfortunately, Zak still feels a little nervous.

"Uh-uh. I’m still a little scared." Zak replied, just as Quetzal showed up.

"Scared of what?" the wise dragon asked.

"Oh, nothing." Zak fibbed.

"Hola, Quetzal." Scootaloo spoke.

"You are just the dragon we were hoping would show up, darling." Rarity said, relieved.

"Zak didn't mean to step on it, he was just practicing his dancing and when he put his right foot down, he didn't see it and then he stepped on it and yelled, "Ow." Ord said, going overboard and saying things too fast that Quetzal couldn't understand.

"Whoa. Slow down, Ord." Quetzal instructed. "What did Zak step on?" he asked.

"A Spiny pine." Fluttershy answered, still feeling sorry for the green dragon.

"Please, please. Don't make me go to the doctor, Quetzal. I'm afraid it'll hurt." Zak begged.

"Well, I think Dr. Booboogone better take a look at this." Quetzal said, inspecting Zak's hurt foot.

"But... but..." Zak complained.

"Don’t worry, Zak. You'll be okay." Spike spoke up.

"I’ll call the doctor and tell her you're coming." Quetzal spoke as everyone thanked him and were on their way to the doctor's cave.

"There's Dr. Booboogone's cave." Cassie explained as they made it to their destination.

"Uh... are you sure it'll be okay?" Zak asked, still nervous.

"I promise, Zak. Everything will be just fine." Pinkie replied as everyone started walking in when they suddenly heard a scream.

"Whoa! What in tarnation was that?!" Apple Bloom asked in shock.

"Forget it, I’m not going in." Zak yelled out in regret as a bird flew out.

"Thanks for fixing my voice, Doc. Sounds great." The bird said as it squawked. It turns out the scream is just the bird squawking to make sure his voice is fixed up and good.

"You're welcome." The doctor replied kindly.

"See, Zak? Doctors help us feel better." Rainbow Dash said.

"Come on, you want to go to the dance contest, don't you?" Scootaloo asked.

"Oh, okay..." Zak replied as everyone started walking in. Sweetie Belle is starting to get nervous again. Luckily, she has her sister to keep her company.

"Don't worry, darling. I'll be with you every step of the way. What are sisters for?" Rarity promised.

"Aw, thanks. I don't know what I would do without you." Sweetie Belle replied.

Eventually, they all made it to the doctor's office.

Ah, Zak, Wheezie. I've been expecting you. I see you brought some friends." greeted the doctor.

"Hi." Everyone said in unison.

"Are you Dr. Booboogone?" Pinkie asked.

"Why, yes I am. come on in." she replied. "Well now, let’s have a look at that foot of yours, Zak." she started inspecting Zak's foot.

"Am I gonna be okay? What are you gonna do? Is it gonna hurt?" Zak asked, scared.

"Come on, Zak. Remember what we did and how it made you comfortable about this. Trust me." Sunset promised.

"Just don’t touch it." Zak panics as the doctor approaches the thorn.

"I’ll be very careful. Now sit still, Zak." Dr. Booboogone instructed as she reached out.

"Ow, that hurt." Zak complained. The doctor didn't even touch the thorn yet.

"I haven't touched it yet." Dr. Booboogone said.

"Well, it was gonna hurt." Zak replied, sheepishly.

"Don’t worry, Zaky, it'll be okay." Wheezie promised.

"Hey. I think I know something you can do so it won’t hurt very much." Scootaloo spoke.

"You do?" Zak asked.

"Sure. Wheezie, give Zak your hand." Scootaloo instructed.

"How's that going to help?" Zak complained.

"I’ll show you. Now, close your eyes, Zak and when I tell you, squeeze your sister’s hand as hard as you can." Scootaloo instructed as the doctor approved of Scootaloo's advice.

"Okay. I'll try." Zak said as he grabbed Wheezie's hand. Scootaloo gives a thumbs up to the doctor, telling her that she's indeed ready to take the thorn out.

"Now, Zak. Squeeze." Dr. Booboogone instructed as Zak squeezed her sister's hand.

"I’m squeezing as hard as I can." Zak said as the doctor began to take the thorn out. "I’m still squeezing. When are you going to take the thorn out?"

"I already have, Zak." Dr. Booboogone answered, holding out the thorn.

"It didn’t hurt." Zak exclaimed in surprise.

"I told you squeezing Wheezie’s hand would help." Scootaloo replied, feeling proud of herself for helping her friend.

"My foot feels all better. We can dance again. I told you it wasn't going to hurt, Wheezie!" Zak exclaimed, happy.

"Whatever you say, Zaky." Wheezie replied as the doctor brought out stickers.

"Who wants a sticker?" the doctor asked. Everyone wanted stickers, except for Sweetie Belle. She's still scared, and everyone sees that.

"What's wrong, Sweetie Belle?" Ord asked in worry.

"Well, I also have a checkup today and I have been scared all morning." Sweetie Belle answered, hanging her head low in shame.

"Oh dear, why didn't you tell us?" Cassie asked.

"I'm worried that all of you might make fun of me for being a scared little coward." Sweetie Belle said, sighing.

"Oh, we would never make fun of you. You are our friend after all." Zak said as Rarity comforted her sister.

"How about this, darling. I can go in with you and you squeeze my hand during your checkup. How does that sound?" Rarity asked.

"I guess you're right." Sweetie Belle replied, feeling a lot better.

Later that day, there's a dance contest that's going on at Singing Springs. Everyone was playing their instruments and Zak & Wheezie were having their turn.

When they finished their turn, everyone cheered for them. They sure were proud of Zak's achievement.

"Oh, dear. It's time for us to go home, everyone. We have to go to your checkup soon, darling." Rarity said as she took her sister's hand. "Remember, you can squeeze my hand when you're there."

"Okay." Sweetie Belle replied.

"It's time for all of us to head home, too." Spike spoke as the girls nodded in agreement.

“I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.” The Rainbooms, Spike, the CMCs and Diamond Tiara said in unison. Just like that, they all return to their own homes.

Later that night, they had another Zoom meeting.

"So, how was your sister's checkup, Rarity?" Sci-Twi asked.

"Oh, she did a wonderfully good job." Rarity answered, showing her sister feeling happy that she got through her checkup.

"That's so great to hear, Rarity!" Sunset exclaimed, feeling proud for her little friend.

"Aw, shucks. It's no big deal. Rarity was there with me, and she helped me with it." Sweetie Belle replied, feeling proud of herself.

"Way to go, Sugarcube!" Apple Bloom cheered.

"When I get my checkup, I'll have Scootaloo and Diamond Tiara with me so they can support me every step of the way!" Rainbow Dash said.

"Oh, don't get your hopes up too high." Diamond exclaimed.

"Huh?!" Everyone in the chat gasped.

"No no. I'm just kidding! Of course, I'll help you. What are friends for?" Diamond said as everyone laughed playfully at Diamond Tiara and her silly ways. With that, they ended their online chat with everyone happy.
