Equestria Girls: Adventures in Dragon Land (Season 1)
Calling Dr. Zak (featuring the Rainbooms, Spike, the CMCs and Diamond Tiara)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe Giant of Nod (featuring Sunset Shimmer, Diamond Tiara and Sweetie Belle)
It was a normal day here in Canterlot City and Sweetie Belle was at Rarity’s house rehearsing her singing voice for a school concert with Sunset Shimmer being the vocal coach. Sweetie had just finished her practice performance.
“What do you think, Sunset? Was I good or what?” Sweetie asked, confident that she’ll make it shine.
“Uh, I think your voice needs to be a little quieter, but not too quiet.” Sunset suggested. Sweetie Belle continued her singing with Sunset covering her ears. Little does she know she’s about to cause conflict between one of her friends.
Over at the Rich family mansion, Diamond Tiara was in her room, keeping herself updated on X (Twitter) when she heard Sweetie's voice so high that it reached her house. She screams and puts her phone down when Sweetie’s voice makes her window vibrate and shatter.
“What is going on?! What’s happening to my room?!?!” Diamond screamed over the voice while covering her ears. She hears a cracking sound and realizes that it’s her phone, which is shaking. “No, my phone. Don’t you dare break on me!!” Diamond commanded. It was too late, because her phone exploded into pieces! She screamed at the horrific sight before realized where that voice was coming from, so she grabbed her broken phone and dragon badge, put them in her pockets and was on her way to complain and shout.
“How is that now?” Sweetie Belle asked Sunset.
“Uh. It’s still kinda meh, but a little better.” Sunset encouraged just before the door swung open in fury and guess who showed up? It’s Diamond Tiara. She was fuming with red-hot anger and was holding her broken phone with her clenched fist.
“Can somebody please explain what happened to my phone?!?!” Diamond shouted angrily.
“Uh, what are you talking about?” Sweetie asked, not understanding her friend’s dilemma.
“Don’t you dare give me that! Look what you did!! Your really bad singing voice broke my phone!!” Diamond shouted, extending her hand to have her broken phone close to Sweetie’s face.
“Whoa. I didn’t realize my voice was so high. I’m really sorry, Diamond. How about I make it up to you? I’ll get you a new phone and make sure it’s shatter-proof.” Sweetie suggested, remorseful about what her voice did. Unfortunately, Diamond was not having it and refused to believe that Sweetie is going to make everything better.
“Really?!?! How would you like it if I break something you treasure? I know that will make us even!” Diamond screamed, smashing her broken phone to the ground.
“You wouldn’t dare!” Sweetie challenged.
“Oh, I would!” Diamond said, approaching Sweetie’s microphone to break it. Luckily, Sunset is there to break it up before things get worse between them.
“That’s enough, you two! You do know I don’t tolerate any bullying or fighting between you two. How about this, let’s go to Dragon Land and see what our friends are up to. That will make us feel better” Sunset suggested as she saw a magic glow emitting from her closet. Just like that, Diamond and Sweetie had stopped their verbal assault and crossed their arms with their backs turned against each other.
"How about we never talk again?!" Sweetie asked in fury.
"Fine!" Diamond said.
"Fine!" Sweetie Belle replied as they huffed.
They put their dragon badges on, held the dragon scale together and said the magic phrase: "I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with Dragons, in a land apart!” They all said in unison as the dragons on Sweetie Belle's wall fly off, swirled around them all and off they went!
In Dragon Land, Zak and Wheezie were holding the Dragon Scale trying to call their friends. “Do you think the others are on their way?” Zak asked.
“Oh, I hope so.” Wheezie said. It wasn’t long until Sunset, Diamond and Sweetie entered Dragon Land.
“Hi, guys!” Sunset greeted.
“Hi, Sunset, Diamond & Sweetie! Nice to see you!” the dragons said in joy.
“What's going on? Sweetie asked, wondering what they’re up to.
“It's the best news in the whole world!” Wheezie said.
“We get to sing right here at Singing Springs for our friends and families tonight!” Zak said.
“Yeah, that’s gonna help me forget my problem I’m having with this jerk I refuse to talk to!” Diamond said, giving Sweetie a dirty look.
“Whoa. What happened between you and Sweetie?” Ord asked, worried.
“Well, her singing voice shattered my phone!” Diamond replied, yelling and pointing at Sweetie Belle.
“Excuse me! I said I was sorry. You really need to learn to forgive others, especially over your stupid phone!” Sweetie Belle yelled, grabbing Diamond by her dragon badge and pulling her closer, face-to-face.
“How dare you?!” Diamond yelled as she was about to throw hands at Sweetie Belle. There was about to be a big fight between the two girls. Of course, Sunset has to break it up.
“That’s enough, you two! I personally can’t allow that in Dragon Land! Especially in front of our friends here. I want you all to stop and move on, okay?” Sunset commanded as they stopped and had their backs turned against each other.
“Sorry about those two. They’re just having a big fight over a little problem. By the way, congratulations. What song are you going to sing?” Sunset asked.
“It'll be something nice and easy.” Zak said, while singing softly to a jazzy tune 🎶"Rainbow flowing down a sleepy river…”🎶
“No, no, no, Zaky. It'll be something fast and loud!” Wheezie said as she started playing Rock N’ Roll music and singing really loud like a rock star. 🎶“FAST AND LOUD SONG, YEAH BABY YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!…”🎶 she sang. Diamond Tiara was especially appalled by Wheezie’s singing, putting her hands over her earmuffs to show it.
“Please stop, Wheezie! You’re making me deaf!” Diamond complained, as Wheezie stopped on command.
“That'll give everybody a headache!” Zak complained.
“No, it won't.” Wheezie said in protest.
“Uh, you kinda did. Look at poor Diamond!” Sweetie protests back, pointing to Diamond who was still covering her ears. “It’s okay, Diamond. Wheezie has stopped.”
“Okay, if you say so. If my ears hurt, you’re gonna be sorry!” Diamond replied as she uncovers her ears, only to show that her ears were really throbbing. Wheezie gasps seeing Diamond’s ears in their current state.
“Oh, my. Sorry, Diamond.” Wheezie said, feeling disappointed. Unfortunately, Diamond puts her earmuffs on and huffs at the purple dragon.
“We need to play something soft.” Zak said, playing jazz while singing softly. 🎶“The moon shining through the trees.”🎶
“Bor-ing!” Wheezie complained, obviously hating Zak’s singing tone. They both started arguing before Zak managed to stop their arguing from getting worse.
“Well, this is getting us exactly nowhere!” Zak said, while their noses stick to each other and pop out. “What are we gonna do? We can't agree on what to sing!” He complained.
“We need help. Hey Zaky, why don't we each sing and let our friends choose which is better.” Wheezie suggested.
“Good idea!” Zak said.
“We’ll help. Sweetie said.
“Awesome!” Sunset said.
“This better be good.” Diamond agreed, having put her earmuffs back on just in case.
“Absolutely! I'll go first. And now, live from Singing Springs, that wonderful and intelligent dragon, Zak!” Zak announced as he started playing jazz with his scales, which everyone cheered on.
“That’s the kind of singing I prefer.” Diamond cheered with Sweetie and Wheezie looking offended by her words.
“Thank you, thank you, one and all.” Zak said in a jazzy personality, which bored Wheezie to the point where she yawned.
“Okay, your turn, Wheezie.” Sunset said as Diamond puts her earmuffs on.
“WOW! Get ready to wiggle and jiggle.” Wheezie said excitedly as she plays a hip-hop rap beat song, 🎶I'm a singin' dragon, and Wheezie is my name, come on everyone and play my singin' game!🎶 Wheezie scatting as Everyone started dancing to Wheezie's song, except for Diamond because she's sitting there with her earmuffs blocking the singing.
“Well, Sweetie, Diamond and Sunset…” Zak said. “Which song did you like best?” continued Wheezie.
“I liked your song, Wheezie! You can really dance to that one!” Sweetie Belle said.
“I’d give it a HIP-HOP beat!” Sunset said.
Thanks, Sweetie and Sunset! What about you, Diamond?” Wheezie said.
“I liked your song, Zak. It sounded pretty. Reminds me of jazz bands back at home” Diamond said.
“That's two votes for Wheezie and one vote for Zak. Cassie said.
“Are you kidding me?! There is no way the princess of deafness is going to sing in the concert ever! Let Zak sing solo while you, Wheezie, will wear earmuffs at all times!” Diamond shouted in defiance and offense.
“Well, excuse me! I’m not just gonna let Zak sing solo! It’s supposed to be our song. I’ll never get the chance to be in the spotlight if I just stay silent!” Wheezie complained.
“Well, you should learn to listen to your brother more often!” Diamond shouts. There’s suddenly a huge shouting match between the influencer and the loud singer dragon as they butt heads and yell at each other.
“Oh, boy. Here we go again.” Sunset groaned. What they didn’t know is that someone was interrupting his nap… which was a deep voice… “Who dares interrupt my nap?” said a voice, angry. Diamond and Wheezie stopped arguing and yelling on impact.
“Who said that?” said Wheezie, scared.
“I did. The Giant of Nod.” the voice replied.
“Did you hear that?” asked Ord, scared.
“A giant.” Sweetie said.
“Fee-fi-fo-fum. Watch out, pipsqueaks, 'cause here I come.” The Giant of Nod said angrily as Ord turned invisible.
“Ord, you're turning invisible.” Sweetie said.
“I always do that when I'm scared. I'm scared a giant is coming to get us” Ord cried in fright.
“No problem. All we have to do is hide!” Zak said.
“Hide. Yeah, hide.” Ord said, still invisible, while making footprints of him running. Everyone ran to hide, but they didn't know where the Giant of Nod is.
“I don't see anything.” Sunset said.
“Maybe the giant can turn invisible. Like Ord, and he's creeping up behind us. Just waiting to…” Diamond said.
“He’s got my leg!” cried Zak. When they heard Zak’s cries, they saw the Giant of Nod, who is a small troll.
“That's right.” said the Giant of Nod.
“Watch out, mister. There's a giant coming through here.” said Sunset.
“Who do you think I am? I'm the Giant of Nod.” He said, revealing his true form.
“Really, you’re not a giant! You’re just a tiny troll. What’s wrong? You're afraid that a mouse is going to chase you or something?” Diamond taunted and laughed just as noddlings appeared and approached the Giant of Nod.
He grabs his megaphone and yells; “I'm serious. I'm a gigantic giant.”
“It's okay, Ord. The Giant of Nod may be very big to his tiny Nodlings, but we're bigger
than all of them.” Sweetie comforted Ord who is becoming visible now.
“Who woke me up with all that racket?” the Giant of Nod questioned.
“I didn’t. That little brat was making the racket.” Wheezie said, pointing at Diamond who was looking offended.
“Me? You were playing way too loud.” Diamond argued. It was at that point where The Giant of Nod feels he’s had enough and yelled in his giant megaphone.
“I can't stand all the arguing. I need peace and quiet.” He yelled as he did the unthinkable; Diamond, Sweetie, Sunset and their dragon friends tried to run from the Giant of Nod, but it grabbed, lifted them, spun them and threw them in a cave.
“Ow! What is his problem?” Sunset complained, rubbing her side as everyone else was dazed from the landing. The Giant pushed a boulder towards the cave and trapped them in!
“There! That’ll take care of them.” The Giant said, relieved as she heads back to his bed and resumes his nap, enjoying the peace and quiet again.
Back in the cave, everyone was worried that they couldn’t get out in time for the Singing Springs concert.
“How are we gonna get out of here, Sunset?” Sweetie complains as Ord tries to move the rock with Sunset’s help, but it’s stuck like glue.
“I... can't…move... it…” Ord strained before he gave up.
“You mean we're stuck?” Sweetie Belle exclaimed in fright.
“This is the worst day of my life. We're supposed to sing at Singing Springs tonight, and we can't agree on a song. Now we're trapped inside a cave. It’s all your fault.” Wheezie said, pointing her finger at Zak.
“Me? This whole mess wouldn't have happened if you'd agreed to sing my song in the beginning. You always want me to do things your way.” Zak said in protest.
“Hello? My day is even more terrible! We wouldn’t even be here if this brat here hadn’t broken my phone with her singing voice! You are a very bad singer, you JoJo Siwa wannabe!!” Diamond yelled, pointing fingers at Sweetie Belle, who gasped and was feeling offended.
“Me?! You’re the one who started this whole fiasco! You are a horrible influencer, you bot!! I hope everyone doesn’t follow you anymore and dislike your posts!!” Sweetie yelled as Diamond gasped and was feeling offended as well.
“You take that back!” Diamond commanded in anger.
“Make me!!” Sweetie Belle replied in crude anger, spitting on the ground.
“Okay, let’s go! When I'm done, you'll never sing again!!” Diamond yelled, getting ready to throw hands.
“Oh, yeah! You’re going down, you heartless popularity-loving jerk!!!” Sweetie Belle replied as she approached her ex-friend and they started a huge cat fight against one another! Diamond even shoved Sweetie to the ground and Sweetie pulled Diamond to her face by her badge, so she could headbutt her! Sunset and the dragons were angry and sad to see the girls fight each other and become physical!! After a few punches and kicks between the two girls, Sunset was there to break it up once again before one of them got seriously hurt.
“That’s enough! Fighting and arguing is not going to help us find a way out of here! Come on, we have to work together so we can find a way out of here.” Sunset exclaimed, with Diamond and Sweetie stopping and huffing against each other as Ord’s tummy started rumbling. “What's that?” Sunset asked.
“It's my tummy. I need a snack.” Ord answered as he started pulling random things out of his pouch until he got his snack: a watermelon. He eats it just as Sunset and the others notice a shovel that he pulled out his pouch.
“Hey, a shovel. We can dig our way out.” Sunset exclaimed.
“Love it!” Wheezie agreed as Sweetie started digging.
“This is gonna take forever.” Zak complained.
“Not if Ord helps. Hey, Ord. When we get out of here, we can get another snack.” Sweetie Belle offered, which Ord accepted of course.
“Ooh! Stand aside and let me show you how it’s done.” Ord exclaimed as he grabbed a shovel and dug a hole that leads to the tunnel system underneath the cave.
“Thick chocolate cookies. Dragonberry cupcakes.” Ord thought as he continues to dig. Everyone follows him and they come up to the point where they got out of the cave, but they’re still underground. At least they’re making progress.
Unfortunately, the Giant is right above them and they stopped upon realization.
“What are we waiting for? We're gonna miss the concert.” Diamond asked.
“There’s one teeny, tiny problem. The giant's right up there. He'll see us come out.” Ord explains. The giant was awake for a second, but he just shrugged it off and went back to slumber.
“What are we going to do?” worried Diamond. It wasn’t long until Wheezie got an idea!
“I know. We can put him to sleep with a lullaby.” Wheezie said.
“…and I know the perfect lullaby for me to sing.” agreed Zak.
“Ugh. It was my idea. I get to sing it!” Wheezie complained as Diamond put on her earmuffs again.
“Ugh, here we go again.” Diamond groans, expecting that the Giant is going to catch them.
“We'll never get out of here if you don't stop fighting.” Sunset instructed by which Wheezie agreed.
“You know, Zaky, she’s right.”
“Yeah! When we fight at home, Daddy says we should take turns.” Zak exclaims.
“But if you go first and the giant falls asleep, then I don’t get a turn.” Wheezie complained before Sweetie Belle intervened.
“You can’t both go first. How about this? Whoever guesses which hand the rock is in, goes first.” Sweetie instructed.
“Okay. That's fair.” Zak and Wheezie agreed in unison as Sweetie pick up one rock and puts both hands out in a ball formation. One hand has the rock. Zak picks the right hand while Wheezie picks the left hand. Surprise, surprise! Wheezie picked the hand with the rock, that means that she’ll go first, and Diamond Tiara wasn’t having it.
“Of course, the princess of deafness goes first!” Diamond groaned before Sweetie Belle snatched the earmuffs off Diamond’s hand. “Hey! What was that for?!”
“We need to support our friends, even the loud ones.” Sweetie Belle explained. “That means we should get through all the loud singing without letting it bother us!”
“Remember what happened to my phone?!” Diamond asked.
“Oh, yeah. I still remember that. I am very sorry about what I did earlier today. I didn’t mean to cause any conflict between us. Like I said, how about we just move on, and I can just make it up to you somehow? You’ll just have to face facts. Friends?” Sweetie Belle said kindly, holding her hand out to her.
“Friends.” Diamond agreed, shaking Sweetie’s hand. That shows that they have all moved on and are friends again. It was then their dragon badges started glowing. They have learned that friendship is supposed to last forever, even in terrible conflict.
“Uh, hello? Let's get back to our idea. Let me sing the lullaby.” Wheezie complained.
“Go ahead, Wheezie. Give it your best shot!” cheered Sunset as Wheezie goes up, sticks the megaphone to the hole that leads to him and starts singing. 🎶 “Rock-a-bye baby on the treetop, oh! When the wind blows, the cradle will rock. When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall and down will come baby! Cradle and all.” 🎶 Unfortunately, she was singing so loud that it nearly waked the Giant up, until Diamond stopped her before trouble begins.
“Wheezie. That’s too loud!” Diamond complained.
“I don’t believe it. He didn't even yawn.” Wheezie complained as Diamond rolled her eyes.
“Gee, I wonder why!” Diamond complained as Sunset looked at her in annoyance. “What?”
“Allow me, sis.” Zak requested as he started singing his own version of the lullaby. 🎶 “Rock-a-bye baby on the treetop When the wind blows, the cradle will rock. When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall and down will come baby! Cradle and all.” 🎶 He sings softly, which has the Giant of Nod fall asleep under full-on slumber.
“You did it, Zak. You put the giant to sleep. Now you two can make it to the concert.” Sweetie cheered.
“Wow. You sure put him to the sleep he needed” Cassie said, proud of Zak’s accomplishment.
“Sometimes nice and easy works better.” Diamond said.
“Naturally.” Sunset agreed.
They snuck out of the hole and tip-toed to the Singing Springs.
Later that night, the concert begins with Quetzal on stage about to begin Zak and Wheezie’s performance.
“Bienvenidos, Everybody. It is time for our concert. First, Zak and Wheezie will perform a song.” Quetzal announced, as Zak and Wheezie are trying to figure out what song they will sing.
“It's time to go on. Which song should we do?” Wheezie asked, feeling rushed.
“You know, Wheezie, I think you should pick the song.” Zak offered kindly.
“Me? How come?” Wheezie asked, confused by her brother’s offer.
“It’s just-- Well… I don't like it when we fight.” Zak explained, in which Wheezie agreed.
“Me either.”
“I just wanna sing our song together. Next time we perform, it’ll be my turn to sing.” Zak admitted, making her sister happy.
“Love you, Zaky.” Wheezie said softly, just when their dragon badges were glowing. They learned that when they agree on what they want to do together, it forms a perfect friendship between siblings. Instantly, they all came out as everyone in the audience cheered as they sang.
🎶 “Rock-a-bye baby on the treetop When the wind blows, the cradle will rock. When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall and down will come baby! Cradle and all.” 🎶 Zak and Wheezie sung together as everyone cheered and applauded.
After seeing Zak and Wheezie sing, it was time for Diamond Tiara, Sweetie Belle and Sunset Shimmer to go home. “I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.” They said in unison as they went back home.
Instantly, the trio are taken back to Rarity’s Room.
“It sure was nice seeing Zak and Wheezie work together.” Sweetie Belle said.
“I couldn’t agree more.” Sunset agreed.
“I still don’t have my phone.” Diamond exclaimed, pointing at the remains of her broken phone.
“Don’t worry. I have a surprise for you, Diamond! I’ll be right back.” Sweetie said as she left to get a present for her friend. It’s a new phone!
“Oh, my gosh. You didn’t!” Diamond exclaimed in disbelief and excitement.
“Oh, I did. I know you want a new phone, so my sister ordered one just in case. She even managed to back up all the data you had on your old phone. What do you think?” Sweetie asked, as Diamond flipped through and went through all the apps.
“It’s perfect! Thank you, Sweetie. You truly are the best! I’m so sorry about that fight we had.” Diamond said, feeling a lot happier.
“It’s okay, Diamond. Friends always make up for their mistakes. That’s what friends are for.” Sweetie continued. Sunset is clearly also happy and proud of their friendship beginning again.
“It sure is nice to see that you two are friends again.” Sunset said as she watched Sweetie Belle and Diamond Tiara hug each other.
