Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe Big Sleepover (featuring the Rainbooms, Spike and Diamond Tiara)
It was a beautiful night in Canterlot City and the Rainbooms, Spike and Diamond Tiara over at Sci-Twi's house for a teen slumber party. They play party games like Truth or Dare, Charades, etc. and ate some snacks like popcorn, cake, pizza and more. They were also watching Enchanted. They were all having fun until Rarity, Diamond Tiara, Applejack and Fluttershy started yawning and were ready to settle down and sleep.
“Man, looks like it’s time to hit the hay.” Applejack said.
“You’re telling me, darling.” agreed Rarity. Unfortunately, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie were still too hyper to just sleep.
“Come on, Applejack! Do we have to settle down now?!” Pinkie complained.
“Yeah. We haven’t even watched Disenchanted yet!” Rainbow Dash complained, wanting to see what the future held for Giselle and her family!
“Come on, you guys. Everyone knows everybody needs their sleep.” Sunset explained as the two girls groaned. Suddenly, they get a call from the dragons.
“Looks like the dragons are calling us.” Sci-Twi exclaimed as Rainbow and Pinkie shouted in excitement that they were all going to stay up longer after all.
They even chose a perfect night to bring their own dragon badges to the sleepover. Sci-Twi opened her closet, put her dragon badge on and grabbed the box to get their dragon scales out. “I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons, in a land apart.” They all said in unison as the dragons on their walls flew off, swirled around them all and off they went!
In Dragon Land, the Dragons were waiting for Cassie.
“Do you see her yet?” Wheezie asked.
“No.” Ord replied.
“She's not coming to our sleepover. I just know it.” Zak said, doubtedly.
“Oh, it won't be as much fun if Cassie doesn't come!” Wheezie complained.
“I'm gonna miss her... THIS much!” Ord exclaimed in worry, holding his arms out wide to show it.
Eventually, the girls re-materialized at the knuckerhole exactly where Ord, Zak and Wheezie are waiting for them.
“Hi, everybody.” Fluttershy greeted.
“You’re all here!” Zak and Wheezie said in joy.
“Hi, Ord!” Sunset said, just as Pinkie looks at Ord’s ladybug slippers.
“Look at those funny slippers!” Pinkie said, giggling.
“Don't you just looooooove them?!” Wheezie asked in joy.
“We're having a sleepover at Zak's and Wheezie's cave! See? I have my sleeping bag and my before-bed snack and my after-bed snack.” Ord explained as he started pulling things out of his pouch.
Ord’s supplies:
- A sleeping bag
- noise-canceling earmuffs
- Before-bed snack: a sub sandwich
- After-bed snack: a slice of pizza
“Sounds great! Can we come for a little while?” Fluttershy asked.
“Sure!” Zak said.
“You can even sleep over!” Wheezie said.
“Wish we could, but we can’t stay all night. We were having our own slumber party.” Sunset said as she and the girls notice that someone's missing.
"Hey, where's Cassie?" Applejack asked.
"It's obvious. She's not coming." Zak explained.
“Why?” Fluttershy asked.
“Maybe she's scared.” Ord said.
“Scared of a sleepover? That's crazy!” Diamond said.
“…and how many sleepovers have you been on, Diamond?” Sci-Twi asked, smirking.
“Uh... none.” Diamond realized, feeling nervous.
“I used to be scared to sleep away from home, but I'm not anymore. I'll go talk to Cassie.” Sunset said.
“We’ll go with you. We know you want assistance.” Spike offered as the Rainbooms and Diamond nodded in agreement.
A few moments later, Sunset and the other friends went to Cassie’s place as Sunset knocked on the door. Cassie is at her bedroom window, in surprise.
“Sunset, guys! What are you doing here?” Cassie asked.
“What are you doing here? Aren't you coming to Zak and Wheezie's sleepover?” Sunset asked.
“Oh, I don't know.” Cassie replied, confused.
“Come on, Cassie. You'll have fun! Big time!” Pinkie cheered.
“I know. But I've never slept away from my mommy and daddy before! Ever! Not even one whole time!” Cassie explained.
“Well, what if you brought something to remind you of home?” Sci-Twi asked.
“Like what?” Cassie asked
“On my first sleepover, I brought Spike.” Sci-Twi said, showing Spike into view.
“Hi, Cassie!” Spike greeted.
“Oh! Maybe I could bring Some of my favorite books!” Cassie said as she brought some books.
“How about just one?” Sunset said, laughing.
“Oh, I could never pick just one. Wait, I've got another idea! How about my favorite pillows?” said Cassie as she brought out her pillows, only for everyone to shake their heads no. “Still too much?” she asked.
“I hate to say it, sugarcube, but I don’t think those would do.” Applejack commented.
“Oh. I know! I'll take this picture of my mommy and daddy and all my brothers and sisters!” Cassie asked as she put the pillows away and took out a photo of her with her parents and two of her siblings, before it unfolds itself to reveal more pictures that tile out the window down the wall.
“All seventy-four of them? That’s perfect, darling!” Rarity replied.
“Come on, Cassie. You’re missing all the fun.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Okay, I'll try.” Cassie replied, finally getting the courage to go to her first sleepover.
At Zak and Wheezie’s cave, everyone was having a good time. Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash & Ord were bouncing on beds, Sci-Twi, Cassie, Spike & Sunset Shimmer were reading, Rarity & Diamond Tiara were trying not to get in the excitement too much, and Applejack, Fluttershy, Zak & Wheezie were trying to settle down.
“Wow! This is so super-duper fun!!” Pinkie Pie exclaimed.
“You said it.” Ord said.
“I'm glad I came!” Cassie said, happy that she gets to hang out with her friends. Suddenly, an alarm clock rings; Everyone stopped doing what they were doing upon ringing.
“Look! Look! Everybody hear that?” Zak asked.
“What?” asked Cassie.
“It's almost bedtime. Let's get ready.” Zak said, holding up the clock.
“Finally, it’s about time everyone settles down.” Applejack, Rarity, Diamond Tiara and Fluttershy said in unison.
“No!” Everyone else complained.
“We haven't even had dragon corn!” Ord said as he gets the dragon corn kernels out of his pouch and sniffs them. Everyone started screaming and running for cover as he breathed fire onto the kernels, making them pop all over the place. Zak and Wheezie pop out as Wheezie eats a bunch. Everyone ate their share and enjoyed it.
“Isn't anyone tired?! Even a little?!” Zak asked as he took the piece of dragon corn off his head.
“No.” Pinkie Pie said.
“Not me!” Rainbow said.
“I’m not tired.” Sunset said.
“Let's play the Dizzy Game!!!” Wheezie said.
“Yeah!!!” Ord, Pinkie Pie and Cassie said as everyone was spinning in circles until they got dizzy.
“Come on, Zaky, spin!!!!” Wheezie cheered
“Why me??!! Why me?!!!???!!” Zak complained, feeling nauseous from all the spinning and clearly eager to sleep.
Whoaaaaaa!!!!!!!! I'm so...dizzy!!! Fluttershy exclaimed before Pinkie Pie fell on her and they laughed.
“Me too!!!” Ord said, spinning until he hit the wall, causing the room to shake and Cassie, Zak and Wheezie to scream and stumble before knocking the stuffed animals over. One hits Zak on the head.
“Oops. Sorry, Zak.” Ord said, sheepishly.
“Now can we PLEASE get ready for bed?!” Zak asked, in annoyance.
“Everything really funtastic and wild in there for you, kiddos?” asked Zak and Wheezie's dad.
“Funtastic, Daddy! Goof-ball-o-rama!” Wheezie replies as Cassie hesitates and takes out the photo of her family.
Now if you need anything, dear, remember, we're right down the hall. Just a holler away. A few small steps. Zak and Wheezie's mom said.
Thanks, Mommy. Zak said.
What's the matter, Cassie? Sunset said.
I miss my family. Cassie said sadly as she looked at her family photo.
“Hey, this is your first night away from home, isn't it?” Sunset asked, comforting Cassie.
“Why don't you call them?” Wheezie asked.
“Can I?” Cassie asked.
“Sure! Talk away.” Wheezie said, pulling the ceiling horn to Cassie.
“Hi, this is Cassie. Can you connect me to my mommy and daddy?” Cassie asked on the phone until her dad comes into line.
“Hello? Cassie? Is that you?” Cassie’s dad asked.
“Hi, Daddy.” Cassie greeted, relieved.
“Are you having fun?” Cassie’s dad asked.
“Wheeeeeeeee!!!” Pinkie shouted as she spun right by.
“Sort of. I just wondered if you and Mommy miss me. I mean, I could come home if you want.” Cassie said.
“Of course we miss you, honey, but why don't you try and stay a little longer and have fun with your friends?” Cassie’s dad asked, wanting his daughter to have more fun with her friends.
“Okay, I'll try.” Cassie said as she said bye to her dad. Her dad said bye back and the call ended.
“Feel better yet?” Fluttershy asked.
“A little.” Cassie replied, starting to feel all cheered up.
“Now, let's think about sleeping.” Zak requested as Rarity, Diamond, Applejack and Fluttershy all nod in agreement.
“Not until... PILLOW FIGHT!!!!!” Pinkie shouts as she grabs a pillow and throws it. Zak and Wheezie duck down as everyone grab their pillows and laughs. Sci-Twi sees that Cassie is sitting on the sidelines and is missing out on the fun.
“Come on, Cassie! Grab a pillow!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed.
“I don't know. I don't want to miss the fun, but I miss my mommy and my daddy and my brothers and my sisters and...!!!” Cassie complained before Wheezie complained to Cassie, who was about to leave.
“Aw, Cassie, don't go. In the morning, we can --” Wheezie complained as Ord interrupts her.
“Eat pancakes and waffles and toast and jelly and waffles and more waffles and more pancakes and more toast and....” he continues.
“I want to, but I could never ever stay asleep all the way till morning!” Cassie admits, still nervous.
“Hey, hey, hey! I know! Why don't we just play all night long until the sun comes up?” Wheezie asked.
“Really?! I love to stay up all night. Let’s do what we can do!” Pinkie cheered.
“Pinkie!” Rarity and Diamond shouted in unison.
“What?” Pinkie asked in confusion.
“Stay up?! All night?! NO!” Zak complained.
“I agree with you there, Zak. We can’t stay up all night.” Fluttershy whispered.
“What am I going to do?” Cassie complained about the situation.
“Hmm... Got it! Why don't you do a half sleepover?” Sci-Twi asks.
“A half sleepover?” Cassie said.
“Yeah! For the first half of the sleepover, you stay and have as much fun as you can. And for the second half, when everyone goes to sleep…” Sunset explained.
“I go home?” Cassie continued, feeling a lot better.
“Sure! You, my friends, Spike, Diamond and I can all leave together!” Applejack exclaimed as Zak yawned.
“Excellent idea. Nighty-night.” Zak was about to settle down before Cassie grabs a pillow and throws it, thus starting another pillow fight! They all have a pillow fight and cheer. Cassie's pillow hits the ceiling, causing it to burst into feathers while Wheezie laughs and snorts. One feather land on Zak's nose as he blows it off.
Batter up, y’all!” Applejack throws her pillow at Ord, who swings his tail at it, hitting Max so hard he flies backward and plows into Cassie and Sci-Twi before they hit Zak and Wheezie and laugh.
“Is this a sleepover or an earthquake?!” Zak asked, clearly wanting everyone to settle down.
Later, everyone is playing charades. Ord is hopping like a bunny.
“It's a bunny!” Fluttershy guessed, which is of course the correct answer.
“Yup! Okay, what's this?” Ord asked as he started flapping his arms and mouthing a song.
“I know! I know! It's a Rhyme Bird.” Cassie guessed, which is of course the correct answer.
“Wow, you're good! Now how about this?” Ord exclaimed, clearly impressed.
“Wait! You said the bird was positively, the final, last one!” Zak complained as he and Wheezie came in, carrying a lantern. Ord takes the lantern and uses it as a spotlight.
“This'll be the positively, positively final last one. Lights please?” Ord promised as he started making shadow puppets and everyone got their turns to guess what he’s making.
It wasn’t long until Zak and Wheezie’s dad announced something that Zak, Rarity, Diamond Tiara, Applejack and Fluttershy have been waiting to hear all night.
“Okay, kiddos! Five minutes until beddy-bye time!” Zak and Wheezie’s dad said.
“Beddy-bye time?! Beddy-bye time?!? YES!” Zak yelled out, excited.
“Finally, about time everyone settles down.” Diamond Tiara exclaimed in relief.
“Oh, Zaky…” Wheezie spoke, dismayed.
Everyone starts brushing their teeths, fluffing their pillows and getting ready to settle down for the night. Zak and Wheezie jump into bed. Ord struggles to get in his sleeping bag while Cassie rolls up hers. Ord finally finishes as Cassie is about to say goodbye.
“Thanks for my half-sleepover, everybody” Cassie thanked in complete happiness. Sci-Twi, Spike, Diamond Tiara and the Rainbow know it’s also time they also get home.
“Time for us to go, too, you guys.” Sci-Twi and Sunset said in unison. Spike, Rarity, Fluttershy, Diamond Tiara and Applejack were indeed tired and were ready to settle down for the night. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash were trying their best to keep themselves awake to no avail. They were yawning and were clearly drained of their energy.
“Bye, everybody. Good night.” The Rainbooms, Spike and Diamond whispered as Zak was already asleep and snoring loudly. Ord puts on noise-canceling earmuffs and sighs. Suddenly, Cassie's badge glows as she notices it and gasps in delight. It definitely shows that she handled her half sleepover really well and had fun along the way!
“My badge is glowing! I'm glad I tried the half sleepover, it was really, really fun! Maybe next time, I can do a whole sleepover. Good night, girls.” Cassie whispers and wishes them good night as she leaves the cave back home.
The girls are about to leave, but Diamond stops them to see that her dragon badge is glowing, too! Her glow shows that she learned that friendship lasts whenever she’s together with her friends, sleepover or not and she is indeed happy about it. When the glow stopped, it was time for them to all go home for real.
“I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.” the Rainbooms, Spike, CMC and Diamond said in unison as they went back home.
One flash later, they all came back to Sci-Twi’s house.
“That sure was fun, darlings.” Rarity exclaimed as everyone settled down.
“It sure was. I just wish it would last forever.” Pinkie sighed.
“Don’t worry, Pinkie. We can schedule our next sleepover soon. That way, you’ll have more fun.” Sunset said.
“Aw, thanks Sunny. Good night, everyone.” Pinkie whispered as everyone finally settled down and went to sleep, already ready for the day ahead.
