Equestria Girls: Adventures in Dragon Land (Season 1)
The Fury is Out on This One (featuring Sunset Shimmer, Scootaloo and Fluttershy)
Previous ChapterNext ChapterZak's Song (featuring the Rainbooms, Spike and Diamond Tiara)
It’s 5:00am the morning after the Rainbooms, Spike and Diamond Tiara had their slumber party at home and in Dragon Land when Sci-Twi’s closet shines a really bright glow. Sunset Shimmer has woken up by the light, really tired. She knew the dragons needed them.
“Hey, girls. Wake up. The dragons are calling us.” Sunset whispered as she gently shook her friends to wake them up.
“Ugh, what do they want? I haven’t even gotten 8 hours of sleep!” Diamond and Rarity complained in unison, both yawning.
“It must be important, y’all.” Applejack said.
“What’s so important that made us get up at 5 in the morning?” Spike asked himself, waking up from his dog bed.
“We’ll find out what they want only when we get there. We better get going, everyone.” Fluttershy instructed as everyone nodded groggily.
Everyone grabbed their own dragon badges, Sci-Twi opened her closet, and everyone held her dragon scale together. “I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons, in a land apart.” They all said in unison as the dragons on Sci-Twi’s wall flew off, swirled around them all and off they went!
In Dragon Land, the sun was starting to rise a little bit. There was no one around and there's not one sound.
“Hello! Where is every--” Rainbow yelled before Ord appeared and put his hand over her mouth.
“Shh! Follow me.” Ord whispered as the girls followed him and found Cassie, Zak, and Wheezie sitting on a cliff and listening to something.
“What are you doing? What do you need this early in the morni-” Diamond Tiara asked before Ord, Cassie, Zak and Wheezie had shushed them.
“Listen.” Cassie whispered as soft choir vocals were heard from a distance.
“Aww, It's beautiful.” Fluttershy whispered, adored by the sounds while Zak and Wheezie were swaying their heads to the rhythm.
“We've been hearing the music…” Zak whispered.
“...every morning for the past week. Don't you just love it?” Wheezie continued, whispering.
“Ya. It sure is a beautiful way to start a day for sure.” Applejack agreed with her soft voice.
“Who’s making that sound?” Rarity asked.
“We don’t know. We thought maybe you’d help us find out.” Ord suggested as the girls and Spike agreed to help. Fluttershy channeled her dragon badge and saw her vision zoom in to where the singing is coming from.
“It’s coming from the edge of that meadow over there.” Fluttershy said, pointing at the location she saw.
“It’s the Quiet Corner.” Zak exclaimed quietly.
“Well, what are we waiting for?” Pinkie Pie shouted as everyone shushed her.
“Quiet Corner, her we com--” Wheezie shouted loudly before Zak closed her muzzle and everyone, even Pinkie, shushed her.
Everyone tip-toed through the woods to the meadow. Along the way, Ord sees a doodle fairy sleeping on a leaf. He folds a leaf up, so it forms a blanket for her. Eventually they reach the top of a hill. They all see whatever is singing. They’re pink birds resembling music notes.

“Aw, they’re so adorable. I just wish my world would have birds like that.” Fluttershy cooed.
“What are they exactly?” Spike asked, whispering.
“They’re the Do-Re-Mi birds. They’re the sweetest singing birds in all of Dragon Land.” Zak explained as everyone cooed at the birds’ singing.
“Well, ah’ll be.” Applejack whispered, loving the birds' melody.
"They are so sweet." Diamond exclaimed, quietly.
"I've never heard anything that makes me want to sing so much." Pinkie whispered as the birds continued their soft singing.
“Come on! Let's do some Do-Re-Mis with the Do-Re-Mis!” Wheezie said.
“No, Wheezie! They don’t like loud noises. You’ll scare them away.” Zak warned quietly.
“Oh, no way. They won’t fly away. They won’t fly away. They’re songbirds. They love singing!” Wheezie said.
“I couldn’t agree more, Wheezie.” Pinkie agreed.
“Do-Re-Mis do love to sing, Zak.” Cassie said.
“I know, but softly.” Zak whispered.
“You mean like this?” Wheezie hums softly.
“Yeah, that’s perfect.” Zak exclaimed quietly and proud.
“Thanks, Zak. You sing like this…” Wheezie said, before she continued to hum quietly.
“Wheezie and I will take over.” Pinkie said, grabbing a random electric guitar from her hair.
“Pinkie, no!!” the Rainbooms, Spike and Diamond whispered in panic. It was no use, because Pinkie already started shredding away, screaming and singing loudly!
“Wow, wow, wow! Hey there, Do-Re-Mi'ses. Here I come! Zak and Wheezie are coming, too!” Pinkie raps loudly before Wheezie takes over
♪ Scooby-doo, wah-wah, Scooby-doo, wah-wah, Scooby-doo wah! ♪ Wheezie scatted loudly as everyone started covering their ears from Pinkie’s rap and Wheezie’s singing.
Eventually, Pinkie, Zak and Wheezie have crashed into the fence and the Do-Re-Mi Birds got startled and started flying away!
“They’re flying away!” Ord exclaimed, panicking.
“Oh, no. What did you do, Pinkie? Are you really that stupid?!” Diamond yelled as the Do-Re-Mi birds flew far away.
“Diamond!” Sunset exclaimed, infuriated by Diamond’s choice of words.
“I knew we should’ve been quiet.” Zak said, infuriated.
"Do-Re-Yous! Wait for Do-Re…Me.” Wheezie exclaimed, just as the birds are nowhere in sight!
“Oh, no. Now we'll never hear them sing again.” Fluttershy said in disappointment.
"If Pinkie here haven't been so loud, we would've enjoyed those birds' performance more!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, looking at Pinkie with a dirty look.
“There must be some way to bring the Do-Re-Mi birds back.” Sci-Twi stated just as everyone starts brainstorming some ideas. Eventually, Ord has gotten an idea.
“I know. Dragonberries. We can make a trail and lead the birds right back here.” Ord stated as he pulls dragonberries out of his pouch.
“What if birds don't like Dragonberries?” Sunset asked.
“Well... then we can eat them all.” Ord said with everyone groaning in annoyance.
“What?”
“I don’t think Dragonberries would work anyway. We need to think of something else.” Fluttershy stated just as Zak has an idea.
“I have an idea, Wheezie. Let’s call them back with a soft lullaby like the one Mom and Dad used to sing to us." Zak exclaimed
“Lullaby? Yuck!” Wheezie exclaimed.
“Maybe Zak’s right, Wheezie. The song the Do-Re-Mis make does sound kinda like a lullaby.” Cassie explained, liking the green dragon’s idea.
“Uh huh. As soon as they hear my lullaby, I’m sure they’ll come back.” Zak agreed.
"Yeah. Great idea, darling!" Rarity cheered as Zak started singing softly.
♪ Lullaby and goodnight, sweet dreams little Wheezie…♪ Zak sings just as the lullaby putting Wheezie to sleep, but she immediately wakes up.
“Well, the lullaby didn’t work. What do we do now, darlings?” Rarity asked.
“Hey, ya’ll. Ah got a better idea! We can do wild bird calls and they’ll think we’re part of their family!” Applejack said as everyone likes the idea.
“I know how to make bird calls. CALLING ALL BIRDS! CALLING ALL BIRDS!” Ord shouted as Sunset giggled.
“That’s not how you call birds. You whistle like this.” Sunset explained as she whistled out a long whistle.
“Wow. I didn’t know you could whistle, Sunny.” Pinkie exclaimed, impressed.
“Well, Pinkie. You don’t really know what else I learned in Equestria.” Sunset replied.
“I can whistle, too.” Cassie said before she started trying to whistle, but all that comes out of her mouth is her firebreath.
“Oops.” Cassie spoke, sheepishly.
“But what about my lullaby?” Zak complained.
“Yeah, we need to try his lullaby again.” Fluttershy said as her human friends gave her annoyed expressions. “Hey, it never hurts to try.” she continued.
"Let's whistle, everyone." Rainbow commanded as they whistle her own bird call. Everyone except for Zak and Fluttershy followed along.
“I just love bird calls. They’re so….tweety! Come on, Zaky! Tweet, tweet, prrr, tweet, tweet, tweet, prrrrr!” Wheezie called.
“Oh well, since nobody’s listening to me anyways. Tweet…tweet.” Zak said, lamentably.
Fluttershy sighed in disappointment as she joined everyone making their bird calls.
Everyone started making their own sounds, and the sounds were SO horrible, it made the Do-Re-Mis fly off in fear. They did NOT want to hear horrible sounds.
“Oh, no! They’re going bye-bye!” Pinkie cried.
Suddenly, the wooden fence was about to wiggle, since the wood has exceeded the maximum weight, the fence was about to break apart!
“...and so are we.” Zak cried. As the fence started to break.
When the Do-Re-Mis saw this, they were terrified at what they saw. The Rainbooms, Spike, Diamond and their dragon friends have fallen down on the ground!
“I told you. If we want to get the Do-Re-Mi’s to come back, we have to sing soft music.” Zak explained again.
“But you guys didn’t listen.” Fluttershy said. “Instead, we made loud sounds that scared these poor birds!
“Wait a minute. Maybe the Do-Re-Mi’s will come to our bird calls if we look like birds too.” explained Cassie.
“Looking like a bird won’t help.” said Zak, almost rejected. It’s a–” he tried to continue.
“Great idea, Cassie. We could stick feathers all over ourselves and then when we
squawk and chirp they’ll think we were Do-Re-Mi too.” said Ord as he grabbed some materials for the Do-Re-Mi’s disguise.
“Great idea, Ord.” Fluttershy said.
“Yeah.” Cassie said
“LOVE IT!” Wheezie said. I'll be the mama bird, and you can be the papa bird, Zaky.” she said.
“Forget it. No way. Stop.” said Zak in annoyance. “This is never gonna work. I'm not doing it.”
“Well…” Spike said. “If Zak's not doing it, then can I be the papa bird?” He asked
“You betcha.” said Ord.
Everyone got ready for the disguises, But Zak isn’t. He tried to explain…
“But…” said Zak, trying to explain.
“You'll make a great toucan, Zak.” Sunset said.
“Yippee.” Zak said, sarcastically.
Moments later, the others were making bird sounds, but Zak isn’t. He doesn’t like the plan at all, not even one little bit. Then, Sunset grabbed a worm and pretended to give it to Ord.
“Time to eat your worm, baby birdie.” Sunset said.
“Yummy!” said Ord.
Zak, who saw this, was disgusted. “Gross.” he exclaimed.
Everyone was still pretending to be birds, until a Do-Re-Mi appeared, looking annoyed.
“I see one, I see one.” Said Pinkie, as everyone was still making bird sounds, making the Do-Re-Mis look confused.
“I know how to make them fly right over here.” said Ord, as he flew.
Zak, who was scared of what was about to happen, said: “Ord, wait!”
“♪ Do-re-mi♪ Fa-so-la-ti ♪ Do!” sang Ord, in off-key.
The Do-Re-Mi’s were scared of Ord’s off-key singing, so they zoomed off as fast as they could.
“Oops.” said Ord, embarrassed.
“They're going, going… gone.” Rainbow Dash said as everyone saw them fly away.
“Guess I really scared the Do-Re-Mi’s away this time,” said Ord, sadly.
“Aw, they'll never come back now.” Wheezie said, sadly.
“And we'll never hear their pretty music in the morning again.” Cassie said, sadly.
“It’s all our fault. We shouldn’t have done this.” Sci-Twi said.
Suddenly, a beautiful flute tune was playing, leaving everyone confused.
“What's that?” Fluttershy said.
“Uh, what are you doing, Zaky?” asked Wheezie.
“When the Do-Re-Mi's hears my soft sweet music, they'll want to come back and sing along with us.” Zak explained about his plan. Then he played the flute again, until Wheezie interrupted and said: “But Do-Re-Mi’s are wild birds. They like wild music. I'll show you.”
Wheezie tried to explain, but Zak stopped her.
“No, Wheezie. This time I'm gonna try it my way.” Zak argued, as he resumed playing his flute tune to bring back the Do-Re Mis. Suddenly the Do-Re-Mis heard the flute music, looking very confused.
“It's not working, see? I knew tha–” taunted Wheezie as she tried to say something until…
“Look.” Diamond said.
The Do-Re-Mis heard it, and they were pleased, they sang in the style of opera singers, leaving Wheezie amazed at what she saw… the Do-Re-Mis continued singing the tune alongside Zak’s flute, in a peaceful manner, and started to fly.
“Don't you just love soft music? It's so, so... Zaky.” Wheezie said.
“Oh, isn't this heavenly?” Spike said.
“Yeah. I like this tune.” Fluttershy said. “Reminds me of the peaceful life, including Mother Nature.”
“Reminds me of… the happy times of Princess Celestia, and my old home, Equestria, including my friends.” Sunset said, reminiscing her past.
Zak continued to play the flute music and the Do Re Mis started to follow Zak and his friends in a peaceful manner, they arrived at the place where they broke the fence and they rebuilt the fence, piece by piece, restoring harmony.
“Wow.” Ord said.
“That was great, Zak.” cheered Spike.
“Well done, darling.” cheered Rarity.
“Yeah.” Zak said. “I said loud noises wouldn't work. So, I just had to do what I did and was right.”
“You made the right choice.” Spike said.
“I’m glad Zak did the right thing.” Sunset said. "But we weren’t listening. We were just doing our own things to get the Do Re Mis our attention."
“I agree with you, Sunset.” Fluttershy said.
"Yeah. Zaky, you're the best." Wheezie said, in a comfortable manner.
“Uh-oh.” we’d better go, girls.” Spike said.
“Why, Spike? We're having fun.” Fluttershy asked.
“But we are still in our PJs.” Pinkie answered for Spike, as everyone laughed.
It was time for them to all go home for real. “I wish, I wish, to use this rhyme, to go back home, until next time.” the Rainbooms, Spike and Diamond said in unison.
They re-materialized back to Sci-Twi's room where the sun is rising outside. The girls and Spike went to the window to see the majestic view. They were amazed by the sight.
"Aw, it's so beautiful." Fluttershy and Diamond Tiara exclaimed in unison.
"Yeah. In Equestria, Princess Celestia is the one who raises the sun." Sunset explained.
"Whoa, sounds like she is one busy princess for sure!" Diamond exclaimed in awe. "I sure wish I would've been able to have such magic power.
"Don't get your hopes up too high, sugarcube." Applejack said as Diamond is feeling okay about that. Everyone yawns and are ready to go back to sleep. It's a new Saturday that awaits them after all.
