“What?” Rarity’s voice raised an octave “Are you saying I'm asking for too much?” Rarity shook her head

Me and Rarity have been dating for a little more than half a year now. Everything’s been going smoothly so far but recently I’ve been really enveloped in my work for Princess Celestia and me and Rarity haven’t gotten a lot of time together recently which led to this argument.

“Rares.” I sighed “That’s not what i’m saying-“

“So what are you saying?” She sat down in the chair across from my desk

“Please just let me speak.” I shoved my papers to the side, If she wanted my attention she definitely had it now. “All I'm saying is you have to understand what I have going on, I mean Princess Celestia has tasked me with the control of a small section of land. I can't just slack off, I have to put my all into this.” My voice was starting to raise why couldn’t she just see this from my point of view “So no, I can’t just drop everything for you.

After a while of dating Rarity I was used to the little petty arguments or her being dramatic, and I was prone to play along to please her but now I was stressed and I had no patience for it right now.

“Oh really!” She clenched her jaw “And i’m not busy? I own 3 shops and still have to complete personal orders and I still always find a way to make time for you because you’re my marefriend.”

“All I'm asking is for you to at least try and put in some effort to see me.”

“I am Rarity, what do you think this time is right now?” I asked

“Considering we're in your office I would say this was a meeting.” She hissed “I’m not asking for a meeting Twilight, do you even remember the last time we were on a date or just enjoyed each other's company or for heaven's sake were intimate.”

Thinking back it had to have been maybe a month which I admit is a very long time I guess I was so engrossed in my work I didn’t notice.

I sighed a dramatic sigh that could only be matched with my lovers.

she rolled her eyes

“Darling I get where you're coming from. I know how much of a big deal this is considering it’s your first task as a princess, and I get you have priorities I just want to be one of them.” She looked away from me and glanced to the ground

I softened, this was a stupid fight. I loved Rarity and my pride was too big to admit I was wrong, I should have made more time for her. I just wanted to make sure everything was perfect. I didn't want anything to distract me.

“I’m sorry Rares.” I tilted her chin back up to look me in the eyes, they were watering. “I was just stressed with this work, you are a priority, my number one priority.” She was trying to avoid my eyes “Sweetheart look at me, please.”
She glanced up with those big sapphire eyes and I realized how much I missed her “I love you.”

She smiled, “I know darling, I love you too.” I held her and she sighed into my embrace “We’re very silly ponies you know?”

“I know, I promise I'll make more time for you.” I said “You know screw work let’s go out right now.”

She smiled then kissed me “That would be lovely darling.”
