CYOA: A Day in Ponyville

The mad queen's contest turns out to be an egg race. With some trepidation, you select a rather large one and carefully begin the race. There are some occasional chuckles from the crowd as your teammates slowly bumble their way around the track. You almost balance it with the spoon in your mouth, determination with every step.

But some others in the contest were determined as well. The heavy egg almost tumbles from your grasp as somepony shoves against you. You wobble but keep things steady.

"That was so unfair!" you hear some other pony commenting, but there's no time for that. Your prize is ahead. You just need to make it past the finish line before anypony else. It's not a far distance, but it feels like miles away as the wind picks up around you. You persevere though, and with a shove of your hooves, you cross the line with your heavy cargo and flop to your belly, egg still upright.

You lie there on the ground, catching your breath as the unicorn approaches. "I had a good feeling about you. Not everypony has the gumption to stand up to me. For that, you will be rewarded. Come, take the spoils from my head."

You lift a hoof weakly, unsure if you want to claim your prize. But she takes off the tiara. It falls from her magic, suddenly stunned, and lands right in your waiting hoof. You realize in that instant that you have what you came for and give out a laugh of victory. You abandon the egg and scramble to your hooves. "Thanks! I'll see you around!" You rush away, holding the tiara between your hooves. "Whew, Pinkie's gonna love this!"

You turn down the street to where Pinkie has set up her party and rush towards her with the tiara outstretched. "Pinkie!"

She accepts it, then plonks it right down on your head. "Silly billy, did you forget? Today's your birthday!" All the ponies around cheered for you.

You tilt your head up, utterly confused. "What?"

Pinkie giggles as she bounces around you. "Happy birthday! You've been so busy lately, you forgot all about it. I figured we'd give you a day to remember, and a nice party."

The crowd cheers louder at that.

Pinkie lifts a hoof high in the air. "Now, who's ready to part-ay?!"

So ends a special day in Ponyville.
