Chapters Chapter 1 - Homeless Wreck
There’s something about her that always puts a smile on my face. Was it her kind heart? Was it the way she cares for and talks to animals? Maybe it’s just the way she looks. I get that fuzzy feeling, the kind you get when your masculinity turns feminine, each time I see her on my favorite cartoon show.
It’s hard to imagine that someone as old as me would watch My Little Pony. While many see it as strange that I watch such a television series, in my perspective, its comfort–an escape from the dark reality that I live in. To watch pastel-colored ponies go on adventures to discover the power of friendship and bringing harmony to all of Equestria beats watching society fall apart because of violence, drugs, sex, and alcohol.
Today is no different than any other day for me. One of my favorite episodes came on Discovery channel on my sixteen-inch flat screen, which was donated to me by my local church when I lost nearly everything I owned, where the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo all have a sleepover at Fluttershy’s. Some may suspect that I live in some old run-down studio apartment; however, I’m living in far worse. Thanks to a used solar generator and a one-person pop-up tent, being homeless isn’t as bad as most would make it out to be.
The show got to the part where it was time for the Cutie Mark Crusaders to go to sleep, but because they couldn’t sleep. Fluttershy sang to the trio, ‘Hush Now, Quiet Now.’
“Her voice is so gentle and serenating,” I thought to myself, holding my worn-out ten-inch plush of Fluttershy. Sometime I wish that she was real. I can already imagine what it would be like to have her right there to comfort me, cuddle me to sleep, and give me joy, healing the emotional hole I have in my heart. Lost in my thoughts, I was brought back to reality when Sweetie Belle sang her version of the lullaby, causing me to jump.
As the episode came to an end, I shut the television off and turned off the generator to save power and let the solar panels charge the lithium ion batteries. Still thinking about that beautiful mare, I took in some of the stuff that I learned from the episode. It’s hard to believe that in my depressing and sad lifestyle that something as simple as a pastel-yellow Pegasus with a pink mane and tail would give me joy, but it does.
I would have never become homeless if it wasn’t for the constant run-ins with the law in Tennessee. Ever since my father sent threatening text messages to all of my family members pretending to be me, my grandmother passing away when I ended up in jail because of my father doing that, and my ex making false allegations resulting in me becoming a sex offender for life for a crime I never committed, life has never been the same for me. There have been multiple times I have attempted to take my own life, including overdosing on a bottle of anti-depressants, but somehow my suicide attempts was unsuccessful. God is keeping me alive for some reason, even though all I see myself is a homeless bum living on the streets of Boston Massachusetts in a tent.
Now five in the evening, I decided to make me a cup of ramen noodles, which has been my diet for the past two months since becoming homeless. I took the bag of ramen and slammed it to the ground a few times to break apart the noodles. I then poured the ramen followed by outdoor-temperature lukewarm water in the cup I bought off the jail commissary, put the lid on the cup and put it to the side to let the noodles absorb the water. While I let that happen, I put my miniature TV into my suitcase. I tend to keep everything together just in case someone tried to rob or stab me for my stuff. I already had a few close encounters with others in my homeless encampment.
I opened a small slit in my tent to grab the solar panel that’s wired to my generator. As I reached for the panel, I felt a shift of temperature, sending goose bumps up my arm and chills down my body. Thunderstorms were coming in, and that is one of the last things I needed to deal with sleeping in a cheap Wal-Mart tent. Even though the tent is waterproof, the condensation was my biggest concern. Swiftly, I grabbed the solar panel and closed the tent back up, then packed the generator and solar panels carefully in my suitcase.
Thunder started to rattle the ground, followed by the light pitter-patter of rainfall as I was eating my now softened noodles–my Fluttershy plush sitting in my lap by my arm. The light rainfall turned to a downpour, with the sky getting darker making the whole area dark as night. The combination of rain and darkness made me drowsy. After quickly eating the noodles, I took my blanket and pillow out of my suitcase and laid my head down to rest, holding my plush near me. Times like this I wish Fluttershy were here to comfort me during these harsh storms.
As I started to doze off, there was a loud squealing noise and then a bang. Immediately after I felt heaviness then I blacked out.
Chapter 2 - A Fluttered Vision
A parade of lights and sirens flooded the South Boston area. Multiple police cruisers, fire trucks, and EMTs arrived on the scene of a vehicular accident. A car spun out of control at the crossing near the homeless encampment. The driver apparently went too fast in the pouring down rain, hydroplaned, and took out some of the encampment.
First responders are working hard in the stormy weather. A couple of canopies were set up for Metro Boston investigators and first responders. Three tents have been struck by the vehicle, one tent containing a couple who got killed on impact, one containing a younger man who surprisingly escaped, and then there’s me and my tent.
Everything happened so quickly. I had no idea what all was happening. The only thing I recall before being put in the back of an ambulance was that something struck me. Unknown to my knowledge, my vision blurry, all I can see is a white-lit box with medical equipment and an oxygen bag on my face with an EMT pushing the large bubble of the bag every few seconds.
I attempted to look around to see what all is nearby. Looking at my right arm, an IV is inserted, providing fluids to stabilize me. On my left down at the bench next to the gurney is my suitcase. At least they were courteous enough to grab that. Somehow, my suitcase suffered little damage to the impact. By my left arm is my Fluttershy plush.
` I attempted to smile at the sight of her, wincing at the pain. I could only guess that I was still holding her after I was struck and the EMTs saw me holding her. Shortly after, the nearby EMT said what I guessed was ‘move faster’, which was followed by a sudden rush feeling from the accelerator of the ambulance, causing me to black out again.
Complete darkness is all I could see around me. There was nothing in front, below, above, or behind me. I could see my feet and my arms, almost clear as day, but everything around me was nothing but an endless void.
“Am I–dead?” I thought, yet the thought of being dead was too unsettling. Being a Christian, I expected something—different—rather than a dark void of nothingness. I expected to be standing in front of my lord and savior Jesus Christ, not stand in the middle of blackness.
“Mikeyyy,” a distant female voice called out. My guard went up immediately at the distant voice. I didn’t know what was around and what to expect. But there was nothing nearby. Was I hearing things? Is it possible that all my years of Christianity was a lie? Why did the voice sound so familiar and sincere?
“Mikeyyy,” said the same voice, but in a higher but still gentle pitch.
“Who’s that?!” I demanded.
The female voice let out a cute giggle. “You know who I am Mikey.”
“Stop fucking with me!” I said angrily. “Show yourself! I don’t know this place and I don’t know who you are!”
“Oh but you do know me, your heart just doesn’t know yet. Just trust me and follow my voice.”
“And how do I know that this isn’t some sort of trap?” I asked, keeping my guard up.
“Just believe me, okay?” the voice replied, somehow more sincere and less threatening, which wasn’t threatening to begin with. Something inside me told me to trust it. I have no idea why my instincts are telling me to trust a random distant voice, but here I am, walking in a void of nothingness in the direction of the voice. It sounds so welcoming and rather calming. Do I know the voice? It sounds familiar–like I heard it somewhere.
“There you go, you’re almost here. Just a little more,” the gentle voice said. I wanted to turn back, but I kept on trekking ahead towards the voice that’s calling for me. I couldn’t break the urge to go back, to ignore the voice, to try and run. My mind wasn’t letting me. I could be heading towards certain death, if I’m not dead already. I was taking a risk and I wasn’t sure how I felt about it.
As I get closer, a familiar figure can be seen in the distance. Bright as the glow of a halo, the figure was floating in the air. I got closer to the figure.
“It can’t be,” I thought to myself. My eyes adjusted to the figure as I was just feet away from it. A bright-yellow Pegasus light directly at me. Its pink, curly mane and tail and cutie mark consisting of three pink butterflies showing its beauty. Its eyes, teal-colored, showing a sign of gentleness and can only be described as welcoming.
I cannot believe what I’m seeing right now, almost as it’s too good to be true. I rubbed my eyes to see if I’m seeing things, even pinching myself, but the Pegasus is still there!
“Fluttershy, y-you’re real?!” I asked, shocked at the sight of her.
She giggled. “Of course I’m real Mikey. I’ve always been real.” Tears flowed in my eyes. I felt happiness for the first time in years. I never thought that I would be in the presence of my favorite pony, who helped me through most of my life, but here I am.
She got down to my level, still hovering in place. She looked more beautiful up close. I wanted to embrace her in a hug, but I stood there shell-shocked. She landed in front of me, wrapped one of her wings around me, and brought me in for what felt like the warmest hug I ever received. I embraced her, feeling the warmth of her fur. I felt happiness on a scale I never felt before.
“Come with me,” she said. “Let’s go to my place.”
I followed Fluttershy through the dark void to a bright light. It got so bright that I had to use my hand to block out some of the luminance as it was hurting my eyes. Suddenly that bright light turned to a bright-colored landscape.
The darkness below me became bright-green grass, above me became a beautiful cerulean blue, with white fluffy clouds and what looked to be a factory in the sky producing rainbows and clouds. Surrounded by us are many examples of Mother Nature’s works. In the distance looked like a town, bright and welcoming to anyone who dwells in it. In the opposite direction is a sanctuary-like cottage with a river flowing in front and a variety of wildlife creatures out and about.
“This way,” Fluttershy instructed, pointing to the cottage with her hoof. I followed her to her humble abode. I’m actually in Equestria! I can’t believe it! It looks so welcoming! I felt at home!
As we approached her cottage, she pushed open the door, gesturing me inside. She followed behind me, closing the door behind us.
“Make yourself at home,” she said with a smile.
It’s five-thirty at night and Massachusetts General Hospital is busy as usual. The ambulance arrived at the side entrance of the emergency room. The ambulance arrived at the side entrance of the emergency room. EMTs acted quick to get me and my property out. Two triage nurses are waiting at the entrance.
“Patient identified as Michael Thomas. He’s the victim of a car accident, struck in a homeless encampment. His condition is critical,” the EMT pushing the gurney I’m in said.
“Take him to the trauma wing immediately,” one of the triage nurses demanded, the EMT doing as she ordered. They rolled me down the hall to the trauma wing, lowered the rain of the nearby bed, unstrapped me from the gurney and moved me cautiously to the bed. As the EMTs left, a doctor, identified as Doctor Richard, came in and analyzed my body which is covered in bruises, scrapes, and cuts from the incident. The team hooked me up to a heart monitor and oxygen system. Doctor Richard ordered CT scans, X-Rays, and a series of blood tests.
“He’s clearly in a comatose state.” Doctor Richards pointed out. “Run an IV and get some blood samples. Also prepare some Anesthesia to cut down on any pain that he might be feeling. Order a CT scan and X-Rays immediately.”
“Yes sir,” said the nearby nurse, jotting down my vitals shown on the monitor. The medical provider, identified as Angela, walked into the room.
“Doctor Richard, he doesn’t have any emergency contacts listed and he’s registered as homeless,” Angela said.
“That’s fine,” replied Doctor Richard.
“He’s also a registered sex offender,” Angela continued.
“What’s his criminal record got to do with anything?” asked Doctor Richard.
“I just wanted to bring that to your attention sir,” Angela replied.
“A patient’s criminal record does not prohibit us from providing them treatment.”
“I know but–” Angela was interrupted by Doctor Richard.
“I don’t care if our patient is the suspect of a mass shooting!” said Doctor Richard in anger. “It’s our job to save his life!”
“Alright, but we may have an issue.”
“And what is that exactly?!” Doctor Richard asked, already infuriated by Angela’s conduct.
“He pre-requested a DNR. We can’t help him.”
Chapter 4 - A Flutter of Emotions
“A DNR is not the same as a DNT!” Doctor Richard exclaimed. “We can still treat him as long as he has a pulse!”
“Sir, he’s in a comatose state. He’s actively unresponsive, therefore we can’t legally treat him,” Angela stated.
“Look up the word ‘resuscitate’ and I can guarantee you that legally we can still, and will, treat him!”
“Your lawsuit, not mine,” Angela said sarcastically.
“Oh my God, I have so many questions!” I said excitingly. As I’m sitting on her couch, Fluttershy is putting together some food— a combination of vegetables in a smooth broth. It smells delicious.
“I bet you do. However, there is something I need to tell you first.”
“Is something wrong?” I asked, concerned at the tone of her reply. Fluttershy put the now cup-up vegetables in the pot and trotted up to the couch, letting the vegetables cook in the broth.
“Well yes and no. I have no problem with you living here with me. The problem I have is that you’re a different species. I don’t want to keep you captive here in my home, but at the same time I think ponies would either freak out or be curious about you.”
“Well isn’t there a way to turn me into something else?”
“I can’t, but now that you mention it, I believe I know somepony who can.” Fluttershy trotted back to the kitchen to check on the vegetable broth.
“You mean Twilight?” I asked.
Fluttershy froze in surprise. “You did you-“
“I watch you and your friends on TV,” I interrupted.
“Right,” Fluttershy said in relief. “I forgot.”
“It’s okay,” I assured her. “I can tell you aren’t used to having humans here. In fact, I think we’re both going to need to adjust to this in some way or another.”
“You make a good point,” Fluttershy responded. She poured two bowls of vegetable broth, carefully putting them on her back to bring to the couch. She trotted back to the couch directly in front of me.
“Thank you,” I said. I closed my eyes and bowed my head. “Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this food which is made for the nourishment of our-“
“Uh, what are you doing?” Fluttershy interrupted. “Also, who are you talking to?”
Oh shoot, I forgot ponies don’t believe in God like I do. I don’t even know if Christianity exists in Equestria.
“It’s complicated,” I said.
“What is?” Fluttershy asked curiously, her head tilted to the side.
“Have you heard of the Bible?” I asked.
“The Bi-what?” Obviously confused and lost, poor Fluttershy doesn’t seem to know about Christianity or any religion in fact. Is there a religion in Equestria?
“It’s a religious book,” I said. Then it hit me. Princess Luna and Celestia are the two goddesses who inherit all of Equestria. Is that even a religion?
“I have never heard of it,” Fluttershy said. “Maybe Twilight has that in her library.”
“It’s possible.” Without completing grace, I took a sip of the broth. “This is delicious!”
“Glad you like it,” Fluttershy said joyfully.
“What’s the broth made of?”
“Oh just a combination of spices,” Fluttershy replied.
“Well it’s absolutely amazing.” I finished the broth and carried the bowl to the sink.
“We’ll have to see Twilight tomorrow,” Fluttershy said. “It’s already getting dark out.”
“Then would this be a good time to go and see her then? No one is going to be awake to see a human, so no one could ask questions.”
“Yes but I don’t like being out in the dark,” Fluttershy said, shivering at the thought. I walked back to her and held her close to comfort her, which calmed her down instantly.
“I understand Fluttershy. We can wait until tomorrow.” Fluttershy snuggled close to me as we sat together on the couch. The fact I’m actually holding her in my arms with her nuzzled up to me has officially healed my emptiness. My dreams were finally coming true.
Suddenly there was a knock at the front door.
The knock at the door broke the warm embrace and had me immediately go into panic mode. I threw myself off the couch towards the direction of the kitchen, which startled every animal in a twenty-foot radius, causing them to scurry. I quickly got up and ran behind the wall that divided the living room and kitchen.
Before Fluttershy could get to the door, it swung open. A flash of cerulean blue with a rainbow stripe behind it flew in above at Mach speed. Just inches from the wall on the opposite side of the cottage, the Pegasus made a U-turn and halted right at Fluttershy in the air. I immediately recognized the Pegasus as Rainbow Dash. Confirming my suspicion, I stayed out of her sight.
“I told you not to barge in like that,” Fluttershy said in an annoyed tone.
“Sorry Shy. I heard a lot of banging and movement after I knocked. I wanted to be sure that you’re okay.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” said Fluttershy, still disgusted with her entry.
“Are you sure? You haven’t been out all day. Everypony is worried about you.”
“I’m sure. Now what are you here for?” Fluttershy asked, wanting her to just go away.
“Twilight sent me here. She says that we need to be at the castle now.”
“Can it not wait until tomorrow?” asked Fluttershy.
“She says it’s an emergency,” Rainbow exclaimed. “She didn’t say what’s going on, but it’s something about a disturbance between universes, whatever that means. I can’t even imagine knowing what that means.”
“Sounds bad,” Fluttershy said. As I’m listening to the conversation, Fluttershy’s mischievous little bunny, Angel, hops up to me.
“Oh please, don’t Angel,” I thought. I saw that look in his eyes that screams “I’m going to ruin your day.” Angel saw a pot that I apparently knocked over laying close to me.
“Don’t do it,” I whispered. Angel kicked the pot, sending it across the floor into the wall, making a loud noise. Shit, I’m done for.
“Hey! Whose over there?!” Rainbow aggressively said. I froze completely, hoping that she’d think it was nothing. I heard hoofsteps coming my way.
Oh God I’m fucking dead. Just as that thought ran through my mind, I was face to face with a furious blue Pegasus.
“Who and what are you?” Rainbow asked, raising a brow. I was in complete shock. Do I say something? Do I stay silent? Maybe if I stay completely still she won’t see me. If only it worked that way.
A reassuring voice spoke up. “Dash, leave him alone. Mikey it’s okay. You can come out and speak.” I slowly came out, shaking visibly in fear. “H-hello,” I said.
Rainbow dash stood in utter shock. “You can talk?!”
I nodded.
“He’s a human. He’s– not from here,” Fluttershy said with uncertainty.
“A what?” Rainbow asked, confused.
“A human, basically someone who can walk on two feet, can talk like us, and some are really intelligent.”
“Isn’t that what Lyra always talked about?” asked Rainbow.
“We don’t speak of her, but yes,” Fluttershy confirmed.
“Well it’s nice to meet you. Sorry for scaring you, Name’s–”
“Rainbow Dash,” I completed.
Rainbow gave a shock expression. “How did–”
“It’s a long story,” Fluttershy said.
“So wait, Shy you said he’s not from here. Where’s he from?”
“Um, remember how you said five minutes ago that there was a disturbance between universes?” Fluttershy asked.
“Yeah, what about it?” asked Rainbow Dash, an eyebrow raised. Then she realized what she was implementing.
“Are you insane Fluttershy?!” Rainbow Dash said angrily. “He can’t stay here! He has to go back to his world!”
“He can’t go back. I brought him here because he was in distress.”
“He’s an alien to our world! What would Celestia and Luna think if they found out?!
“I’m sure they wouldn’t have an issue with it,” Fluttershy said.
“Shy, it’s not just dangerous, it’s outright criminal! You don’t know what he capable of! He already knows our names!”
“He watches us on TV,” Fluttershy pointed out.
“Girls?” I said, trying to get their attention.
“Don’t you think that’s not at all strange?!” Rainbow Dash continued. “He sounds like a spy!”
“Girls,” I said again, slightly annoyed.
“He’s not a spy! He’s going through a lot of stuff right now!” Fluttershy said in anger.
“That sounds like an excuse to spy on us Shy! We can’t trust him!”
“Girls!”
“What?!” The duo shouted in unison.
“First off, Fluttershy is right! I’m not a spy! I never asked to be here! The last thing I remember before I met Fluttershy in a black void was that I was in the back of an ambulance!”
“And how can I believe you?” Rainbow asked, trotting up to me and squinting at me to try to see if I’m telling the truth.
“That’s the thing; you can’t. There’s no legit way to find out if I’m being honest without some magic or supernatural being to prove it.”
Rainbow dash sighed in defeat. “You’re right.”
“Of course I’m right. Now, don’t you two have a meeting to attend?” Both of them looked at each other and nodded.
“We need you to come with us.”
A harmony of beeps played across the trauma wing. It’s been a busy night in Massachusetts General Hospital as one of the worst thunderstorms of the year went through Boston. Several patients have been brought in over the last two hours. Nurses and doctors are constantly on the move.
Doctor Richard received a notification that my results came in. He had set me as a priority patient. He hurried to his workstation to assess the lab work, CT scans, and Radiology reports. The blood work came back normal, so that was a relief to him. He opened up the x-rays from the radiology reports and immediately noticed a crack that ran from the back of my skull to the top, but no other bond damage to the head or any other part of my body.
“Hairline crack from rear of skull by spinal column to top of skull, close to forehead region. Further assess for concussion,” he put in his notes. “Also assess for nerve damage to spinal column.”
Finally, he opened the CT scan. He immediately noticed damage to the central nervous system which confirmed his suspicion for nerve damage. Additionally, he noticed some very unusual brainwave activity, as if it was emitting too much activity. For someone in a comatose state, that is rather unusual.
“Confirm nerve damage to spinal column. Higher than normal brainwave activity while patient is in a comatose state,” he added to his notes.
“Order an MRI. Also see if we can get authorization to operate on his skull,” he said to Angela.
“I think you’re making a terrible mistake Doctor Richard.”
“I’ve been in this field for twenty years,” he said to her. “I know what to do and when to do it. Now please do as I ordered.” Angela shrugged her shoulders and did what she was ordered to do without hesitation. He hated being bossed around by him, constantly being told what to do. If it wasn’t for the pay, she’d quit right there and then.
It wasn’t just that. She also had hatred for the homeless. Then when she heard the sex offender bit, her hatred for me grew, wishing I was dead. She didn’t care about me as a patient, but she knew that she had to follow Doctor Richard’s orders in order to keep her job.
As Doctor Richard was inputting his final notes, an alarm went off on the intercom.
“Code Blue in T4, code Blue in T4,” said the computer-generated voice.
Several members of the hospital staff ran to Trauma Room 4 where I was having a seizure. Immediately they began stabilization protocol to get my seizure to stop. They injected levetiracetam in my IV line, which immediately began to work, stopping my seizure.
“I want an MRI and another CT scan done on him immediately,” Doctor Richard ordered. Now he knew why my brain activity was so high suddenly. However, he wasn’t sure why the seizure happened and why it happened so late.
Nearly everypony is asleep at this time, with a few still wandering the streets of Ponyville. Though not far, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash decided to take me on the scenic route, about two-hundred feet in the air. I’m holding onto Fluttershy around her neck, praying to God that she doesn’t let me fall to my death.
“Where’s the seat belts when you need them?!” I said, fearing for my own life and safety.
“I can tell you’re not used to flying Pegasai,” Rainbow Dash said laughing.
“What gave you that idea? My expression or the fact I’m trying not to piss myself?!” Both Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash laughed. They slowly descended to Twilight’s castle. It’s amethyst-colored building stood tall before all of us. When Fluttershy landed, I tossed myself on the ground, trying to catch my breath.
“The next time we decided to go airborne, at least give me a parachute!” The duo laughed again. Once my heart rate returned back to normal, I picked myself up.
“Well here we are,” said Fluttershy. Man, I used to remember Twilight’s tree house being here. I knew this castle was put here in its place after Tirek destroyed the tree house, but it’s as beautiful as I imagined it to be.
Rainbow Dash opened the doors and gestured me and Fluttershy in. As we went in, Rainbow Dash followed behind and closed the door behind all of us. As we approached the throne room, Fluttershy stopped both us right before the threshold.
“Mikey, for your safety, please don’t enter until I call you in,” Fluttershy instructed in a quiet tone. I nodded in silent. Both Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash entered the threshold as I stood by the wall before it.
The mane 6, including Starlight Glimmer and Spike, stood at the round table in the center of the throne room. A holographic map with several icons hovered on the table. Everyone in there was waiting patiently for Twilight to begin her lecture.
“Thank you for being here everypony,” Twilight said. “Sorry to have to call each and every one of you on such short notice. Celestia has informed me of an unusual threat that’s here in Equestria, and she needs each of us to look into this and hopefully eradicate the threat.”
Each of the ponies at the table discussed amongst themselves trying to determine what or who the threat is.
“While I cannot seem to figure out what the threat is or the origin of the threat, the information I received from Celestia that I can provide to all of you is that there was a portal that opened close to Ponyville, just outside the town limits. It’s likely that portal opened a door to another dimension. It closed rather quickly to get more information on it.
“Celestia wasn’t able to get enough information on this portal or where it goes to, but there’s a likely chance that somepony or something is here with us in Equestria that is not supposed to be here.”
Silence filled the room.
“Here’s what I need from everypony here,” Twilight Continued. “Spike, can you pass me the assignment scroll?”
“Here you go!” Spike said, handing her the scroll. Using her magic, the scroll levitated and opened up in front of her.
“Pinkie Pie and Applejack, you two will keep an eye out for anything unusual. If you see someone or something that doesn’t belong here, catch and reel it here.”
“I’ll show em not to mess with ah cowgirl!” Applejack said with her southern accent.
“Let them get in the way of my party cannon!” Pinkie Pie stated.
“Rarity and Starlight, you two are on portal patrol. If you see any portals, immediately close them.”
“Yes ma’am!” The duo both said together.
“Finally, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, you two are on sky patrol. I don’t know if this threat is capable of flying, but you two are my eyes in the sky!”
“You can count on me!” Rainbow Dash said. Fluttershy stayed silent, but nodded.
“Does anypony have any questions before I adjourn this meeting?” Twilight asked.
“Actually, I think I might have the answer to this so-called threat,” Fluttershy said gently.
“Really?!” Twilight excitedly said. “What is it?!”
Fluttershy turned to the threshold. “Mikey, come here please.”
I come around the corner and stood right at the threshold, seeing all seven ponies and a dragon. Everypony except for Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash gasped in shock. Both Twilight and Starlight stood their ground, their horns illuminating as if they’re ready to attack me.
In the words of GLaDOS from Portal 2, “well, this is the part where they kill me.”
Chapter 8 - Horse Interrogation
I closed my eyes expected to be incinerated or blasted to smithereens. As seconds grew, anticipation grew wider. I thought this was the end for me. If I die here, do I die in real life? Was I already dead and now I die in this afterlife? Would I become double-dead? Unanswerable questions flew at me at a million miles an hour.
The magical humming of the unicorns’ horns suddenly faded. Did I die already? Was it over? I opened one eye, and the same seven ponies and dragon stood in front of me. I’m alive still? My life was spared.
Twilight and Starlight looked at me with a combination of anger and concern. Did they realize that I feared them? Regardless, they kept me alive, and hopefully I stay that way.
“Who are you and why are you here?” Twilight Sparkle demanded.
“My name is Michael Thomas and to be completely honest with you, I’m not even sure how I ended up here in the first place.”
“What are your intentions?” asked Twilight.
“I have no intentions. I know I ended up here with the help of Fluttershy. I know I was in an ambulance being taken to a hospital. I blacked out, ended up in some dark void, and Fluttershy took me in, but that’s all I know.”
“Where are you from?” Starlight asked.
“I’m from Earth. To be exact, from Boston Massachusetts, United States of America. Please, have mercy on me. I’m not a threat.”
“And how do we know you’re not a threat?” Twilight asked, getting close to my face to study me.
“I have no way to stir up a threat or a problem! I have no magic, I don’t know spells, I know nothing! I’m just a mere human-being. Hell, where I’m from, I’m homeless, living on the streets!” Tears started to form in my eyes. Twilight backed away, the whole gang now showing concern for me. All the ponies, even Spike, were worried about me.
Fluttershy trotted up to me. She spread her wing and wrapped it around me in an embrace. Out of everypony, only Fluttershy knew me and my issues. Fluttershy turned to her friends.
“Mikey went through a lot in his life. I saw all he went through. He is no threat to anyone. I took him into my house so he can have somewhere to sleep. I took him through the portal everypony is all-so worried about. The so-called threat that opened the portal was me! If you want somepony to go after, then go after me! Mikey has nothing to do with any of this, and I’m ashamed that every single one of you would immediately jump to the conclusion that he is a threat without even getting to know him! So if you want someone to go after, then go after me! I’m your threat!”
“Fluttershy, I doubt in the slightest that you opened a portal to another dimension,” Twilight said. “You’re a–”
“Pegasus, I know,” Fluttershy cut in. “I had help.”
“Fluttershy, I want you to be completely honest with us,” Applejack said. “Who helped ya open ah portal?” A poof of magic flashed behind Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity, startling the group. A tall figure stood behind the four.
“The one and only,” The male voice said in a happy yet creepy tone.
“Of course,” Twilight said in disgust. “Discord.”
Chapter 9 - Transfurmation
The entire group looked at Discord with disgust.
“What?” Discord asked.
“I’m not even going to begin to wonder why you think it’s a good idea to open multidimensional portals!” Twilight exclaimed.
“Fluttershy needed my help, so I went out of my way to help a friend in need. You know what they say; a friend in need is a friend indeed!”
“You understand you could’ve brought a threat to Equestria?!” Starlight said angrily.
“Oh please, you act like there are no threats here to begin with,” Discord said.
“He’s got a good point,” Pinkie confirmed.
“Shut up Pinkie,” Rainbow Dash said.
“See? Even she knows!” Discord said sarcastically.
“Alright Discord, so answer me this then,” Twilight said. “How many of these ‘portals’ did you actually open up?”
“Just that one. I have no reason to cause Chaos here in Equestria. I’ve retired.”
“And the lie detector determined, that was a lie,” Applejack said.
“No I mean it! I did not open any more portals!”
“I was referring to the retiring from chaos statement, idiot!” Applejack said.
“Wow, harsh name-calling, but yeah you’re right. I can’t retire from the one thing I love to do.”
“Why are you even here?” Twilight asked. “Don’t you have better things to do?”
“I’m wherever I want to be. I heard my name and immediately came here to see what’s going on. All I did was help dear Fluttershy with one simple task. If you don’t believe me, then don’t. But since you don’t want me here, I’ll be going.” Discord snapped his talon-like fingers then poofed away.
“Something tells me not to trust Discord,” Starlight claimed.
“I don’t know,” said Rainbow Dash. “Discord doesn’t seem to want any involvement in this. Maybe he isn’t as bad as we make him out to be.”
“You might be right, but for now, we need to see what to do about Michael here,” said Starlight. “He doesn’t seem to be much of a threat or issue, however, we can’t have some random–uh, what are you again?”
“I’m a human.”
“Yeah,” acknowledge Twilight. “We can’t have a human walking around Equestria. You need a disguise or something.”
“Could you just transform me into something else?”
“I could try. I don’t know if my shape shift spell works on humans,” Twilight said with uncertainty.
“Well I guess it doesn’t hurt to try,” I suggested.
“Alright, let’s give it a shot,” Twilight said. Her horn started to illuminate. She focused and concentrated. Everypony around her stood clear. As soon as they cleared the area, Twilight released all her magic onto me as a beam of light shot in my direction. I began to glow. A flash bang of light blinded me for a few seconds. As the light cleared up, I saw the group staring at me in shock.
“Well, did it work?” I asked.
“See for yourself,” Rarity said, levitating a mirror in front of me. I saw in the mirror a green-colored fox with green hair, white going down half my face and down my stomach, a green tail with black and white stripes. I looked down and see my green paws.
Holy crap! I’m my fursona! Everypony around is seeing how happy I was. All of them are smiling, all happy for me.
“I can’t believe that it worked!” Twilight exclaimed in disbelief.
“I’m so happy!”
“Well, how do you feel?” asked Twilight.
“I feel wonderful!” I said excitingly.
“You look wonderful,” said Fluttershy. “And honestly really cute.” I blushed. Fluttershy giggled.
It was dark in the radiology room. They had me inside the MRI scanner. Doctor Richard is standing behind the computer monitor, the technician doing his job to give Richard the best results to work with.
Carefully studying the monitor, Richard is cautiously identifying the problem. After some watching, he noticed it.
“There it is,” Richard pointed out to the technician.
“Looks like internal bleeding caused by the head injury,” the technician noted. “It looks like an extremely small fragment of bone was missed, enough to cause internal bleeding.”
“That would explain the seizure he had,” Richard said. “I’ve seen enough, shut the machine down and send the imagery to his chart.
“Yes sir,” the technician said. Shortly after that was said, I had another seizure on the MRI table.
“Shit!” Doctor Richard said. “Call code blue now!”
An earthquake shook in the area, the second one that night, except this one was of a heavier magnitude. The first earthquake was so light it was undetected. Books fell in the castle, falling on everyone in there.
“Is everypony okay?” Twilight asked, receiving a few groans in response.
“Where did that come from?” Rainbow dash asked in concern.
“Had to have been an earthquake,” said Applejack. “We hadn’t had one of dem in ah long time though.”
“Do you think it had something to do with Discord or that portal?” I asked.
“I don’t know, Twilight said, worried. “It’s possible.”
“Best we stay on guard. Be careful going home everypony,” said Starlight. Everypony started heading out. I stuck with Fluttershy. I realized before I left the room that I forgot to ask her something. I turned around to face Twilight.
“Hey Twilight. Before I go, do you happen to have a book called the Bible?”
To my amazement, she did! She also had a couple of other books that caught my attention, including ‘Flying for Beginners’ by Soarin’ the Wonderbolt, and Equestrian Mythology by Star Swirl the Bearded. She let me borrow the books and let me borrow a saddle bag to carry them with me.
Fluttershy stayed close to me, mainly because she’s afraid of the dark. I wrapped my tail around her, and she gave me a warm smile. She did all she can to keep me under her wing these last six hours, the last I can do is return the favor. She knew I was there to protect her.
As we slowly trotted outside the town limits, Fluttershy stopped dead in her tracks.
“Is everything okay?” I asked her.
Fluttershy looked at me directly in my eyes. I could sense she wanted to say something to me but couldn’t. She leaned in and kissed me, holding the kiss for a few seconds, closing her eyes. I was stunned. I felt a wave of emotions. My body shivered from the sudden embrace of her soft lips. It felt so warm. She then broke the kiss.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn–” before I let her continue speaking, I returned a kiss to her, pressing my lips firmly against hers. Both of our eyes closed as we held this kiss for a minute. She didn’t pull back, almost as she’s been waiting to live this moment. There was a spark between us. We both felt love. I didn’t want this moment to end. I was in love with her, and she loved me. I broke the kiss, staring her gently in her eyes.
“There’s no need to be sorry,” I said. “I felt the same way.” We continued our walk back to her cottage; my tail wrapped around her and her head leaned against mine. On arrival, I put the saddle bag with the books next to the couch. With both of us exhausted, her and I went to the bedroom and laid down, cuddled up together.
“I love you Mikey,” said Fluttershy.
“I love you too, Fluttershy.” We both closed our eyes, her in my arms, and I fell asleep with her. I’m so happy. My dreams finally came true.
“What do you mean you can’t approve the emergency operation?!” Doctor Richard asked Angela.
“It’s not that I can’t, it’s that I won’t.”
“Do you understand that you’re jeopardizing the life of a patient right now?!” Richard said in anger.
“He’s a homeless sex offender! I’m not going to save a life of someone who doesn’t deserve a life!”
“So let me get this straight,” Richard said. “You don’t want to save him because of your own personal dilemma?
“Pretty much,” Angela confirmed
“Get out of my wing,” Richard ordered.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. I said get out!” Richard said in full blown anger, making all the nurses and other doctors look at him, then returning to their work.
“You have no authority to kick me out!”
“You either leave voluntarily or I will have security escort you out,” Richard stated. Angela hesitated for a moment, but finally marched out in anger. Richard went to workstation and wrote an email to Internal Affairs. He put in the subject field, ‘regarding Angela Taylor, MP.’
In the email, he wrote, ‘requesting immediate termination of Angela Taylor concerning patient discrimination. Taylor directly refused to work on a patient due to their criminal background. Stated that patient is a “homeless sex offender” and that she was “not going to save a life of someone who doesn’t deserve a life,” after she stated that she won’t approve an emergency operation.’ He sent the email then picked up his phone. He called the operator and waited for someone to answer.
“This is Doctor Richards. Transfer me to surgery.”

Chapter 11 - Breakfast and Bible Study
Morning has peaked. Celestia had already raised the sun and Luna already lowered the moon. The Pegasai are already hard at work, giving Equestria clear skies. Another beautiful day surrounds Ponyville.
I started waking up. Stretched out and yawning, I noticed Fluttershy was already out of bed as I laid there by myself. There was a sweet smell coming from downstairs. I got out of bed, fixed the covers on her bed and headed downstairs. I looked around the corner to see my beautiful mare cooking breakfast for the both of us.
I made an audible yawn. “Good morning Flutters,” I said to her. Fluttershy turned to see me and smiled.
“Good morning Mikey!” she said enthusiastically. I went over to her and gave her a kiss.
“I see that you’re up early,” I said.
“I just wanted to get the day started. I’m making us some oatmeal with hash browns.”
“Sounds, looks, and smells delicious,” I complimented.
“Go ahead and take a seat cutie,” she ordered. “I’m almost done making it.”
“Okay Cutie-Shy,” I said, making her squeak and blush. I giggled, kissed her cheek, and then headed towards the couch. As I waited for her to bring breakfast, I dug out the bible from the saddle bag and skimmed through it. It was an exact copy of the New International Reader’s Version. I wondered how on Earth–well, in Equestria–Twilight got this.
I would’ve never thought it was a bible at first. The purple-colored hardcover with a horseshoe print and a cross embroidered inside the print helped me identify that it was indeed a religious book, but never helped me confirm that it was bible. It was the bind that helped with identification with the version written on it.
It was obvious that it was rarely used. None of the pages had wear and tear. This confirms my ideology that nopony reads or knows the bible in Equestria. That or Twilight never reads it. Maybe she keeps it as a keepsake.
I stumbled across a familiar verse, John 16:20, which says, “what I’m about to tell you is true. You will weep and mourn while the world is full of joy. You will be sad, but your sadness will turn to joy.” In the context of the bible, Jesus was telling his disciples that he would be going away soon, that all his disciples will mourn him. However, this scripture caught my attention because it followed a similar pattern in my life.
Just less than twenty-four hours ago, I was struck by something while homeless in a tent, put in the back of an ambulance, and blacked out in a never-ending void. Now I’m happily living with the pony of my dreams.
“Your sadness will be turned to joy,” I mumbled to myself, holding back tears.
“Who are you talking to?” Fluttershy asked, startling me. She had my breakfast ready. I grabbed my plate, which had some delicious-looking oatmeal and hash browns. One thing I knew for certain is that she is an amazing cook. I also grabbed a cup of orange juice that she also had for me.
“Sorry, I was talking to myself,” I said to her, still holding back tears. I bookmarked the bible using one of the ribbons attached to it and placed it on the arm of the couch, gesturing Fluttershy to sit next to me.
“Are you okay Mikey?” Fluttershy asked, seeing the slight tears that formed in my eyes. She gave me a soft kiss on my cheek to comfort me.
“Yeah, I’m good. I ran into a bible verse I remembered that hit me pretty hard.”
“Do you want to talk about it?” Fluttershy asked.
The operating room was quiet, other than occasional beeps from the heart monitor. I was sprawled out on a metal table. Anesthesia ran down an IV line into to my arm, and a mask producing Nitrous Oxide was over my face. Though I was in a coma, Doctor Richard wanted to be sure that I don’t wake up during a life-saving surgery.
The team had just removed the piece of skull fragment from my brain which was causing the internal bleeding. Gauze was placed in the area to stop the bleeding from continuing. They also repair my skilled and stitched the skin of my head back on. Now they just needed to be sure that everything will be okay.
After monitoring for fifteen minutes, it was concluded that the operation was a success. No more internal bleeding, no more seizures, no heavy brainwave activity, nothing. They wrapped my head in gauze and rolled me into the recovery ward, still in a comatose state.
Chapter 12 - A Royal Return Home
Sitting on Fluttershy’s couch, she and I were having a discussion about the bible, Christianity, and God. I referenced some scriptures to help her understand my religion.
“Wow,” Fluttershy said. “This ‘Jesus’ sounds very important to you Mikey.”
“Not just to me, but to anyone who believes in Him. The golden verse, John 3:16 says it all. ‘God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.’ He died on a wooden cross so our sins may be forgiven.”
“And sins are bad, right?” Fluttershy asked.
“They’re very bad,” I confirmed. I flipped to First John “First John 3:4 says ‘everyone who sins breaks the law. In fact, breaking the law is sin.’ It’s like committing a crime, liken stealing or killing somepony, but instead you’re committing crimes against God. But look,” I pointed to verse five. “It says here, ‘but you know that Christ came to take our sins away. And there is no sin in him.’ Jesus is so righteous that because of him and because we believe in him, Christians like me are saved!”
“Can we ponies believe in Jesus?” Fluttershy asked.
I never thought of that. I had to process that question for a minute.
“I supposed,” I said with uncertainty. “The fact there’s a bible here in Equestria was surprising in itself. However, I don’t know if there are any other copies. It’s possible there is, but knowing Twilight, she likely got this from some secret library or something,” I said, jokingly. We both laughed at that last statement.
“I can see Twilight doing that,” said Fluttershy. As we finished our breakfast, I took the empty plates and cups, kissed Fluttershy on her for forehead and went to the kitchen sink. There was a knock at the door.
“I’ll get it,” Fluttershy said. I ran the hot water and put some soap in the sink to wash the dishes. Fluttershy opened the door to two tall ponies, one pearl white with magenta, purple and teal mane and tail, the other midnight blue with a sparkly dark blue mane and tail. Twilight stood amongst the two.
“Princess Celestia! Princess Luna!” Fluttershy said in surprise, bowing in front of the two.
“Hello Fluttershy,” Princess Celestia said with a smile. Fluttershy got back up.
“What can I do for you two?” asked Fluttershy.
“Actually, we’re not here for you,” Celestia clarified. “Twilight told me you have someone else living here.” Fluttershy turned her head to me.
“Mikey can you come here please?” Fluttershy requested. I turned my head, not realizing who was at the door. My eyes widened at the sight of the two sisters. I quickly turned the water off and quickly headed to Celestia and Luna, bowing at their feet.
“You can get up sir,” Celestia said with seriousness. I did as she ordered. “So your name is Mikey?”
“That’s just a nickname Fluttershy gives me. My legal name is Michael Thomas, your highness.”
“You and Fluttershy must have a close bond,” Celestia assumed.
“Yes we do. We have developed feelings for each other,” I said.
“I kind of figured, especially when Luna was watching Fluttershy’s—unusual dream last night,” Celestia said with slight disgust. Luna threw up in the nearby bushes trying not to remember the dream she had watched. I turned to Fluttershy.
“Flutters do you-”
“Let’s not talk about it,” Fluttershy interrupted, her face now beet red and hidden by her wing. I nuzzled her to let her know I’m not mad.
“Michael, you tend to have a lot of compassion for her,” Celestia stated. “However, I hate to break this to you. You can’t stay here.”
“Oh? Is there some royal tax that I have to pay to stay here? I can find employment if I-” Celestia raised her hoof signaling me to stop talking.
“No, what I mean is that you can’t stay here in Equestria.”
“What?!” I said, upset at the statement.
“You’re an alien to our land Michael, an immigrant sort of speak,” said Celestia.
“Can I not legally migrate here? Is there something I can fill out that can let me stay here?” Tears started to form in my eyes.
“Sadly, there’s not,” Celestia advised. “You’re not of this world, so no paperwork would ever apply. Normally I would banish you to the moon until your species can come get you, but Twilight told me everything about you.”
“Sorry Michael, I had no other choice,” Twilight chimed in.
“I understand Twilight,” I said, my face completely soaked in tears.
“I understand that you are no threat Michael. I understand that you had a terrible past and present. I feel empathy for you, but unfortunately the law is the law. It’s time for you to go back to your home planet,” Celestia said.
I didn’t want to go, I finally felt happiness. In the first time in years, I felt joy, and now that’s being taken away from me. I plead for mercy at Celestia’s hooves.
“Please your highness! There must be something that can be done that will let me stay here! I don’t want to go back home! I love it here!” I can hear Fluttershy behind me crying. She didn’t want me to leave either. This made me cry heavier than before. I can feel her heart breaking.
“There isn’t, and I’m truly sorry,” Celestia said with concern in her voice. “I really wish there was something that can be done, but in this circumstance, there’s nothing. Now come. I already sought out the portal that Discord made to bring you here. It’s time for you to go.”
“Can I at least say goodbye first?” I pleaded. Celestia nodded in approval. I turned to Fluttershy, grabbed a hold of one of her hooves and looked right in her eyes. I can see the pain she was feeling as I felt the same. We both fell in love, cared for each other, and both hoped to live together for eternity. Now that’s all coming to an end.
“Fluttershy,” I started, tears flowing down both our eyes and my voice rasp. “You have given me so much happiness over a short span of time. You were there to save me from a bad situation. You took me into your home where I had nowhere to go. You were tender to me, shown me so much love and compassion. It hurts that this is all coming to an end now.
“I know that I will be back living on the streets when I go home. I know I’ll be back to having nothing but a few essentials and a tent to sleep in. You have made me feel like I’m someone and not just a nobody living on the streets. I will never forget you. I just ask that you please, never forget me and the memories we cherished together.”
“I will never forget you Mikey,” Fluttershy said in a sobbing voice. “I will find a way to see you or talk to you so you know that I’ll still be here for you.” We both held each other in a hug that lasted for what felt like an eternity. I didn’t want to let her go, and I think she didn’t want to either. Neither of us wanted this to end, but like Celestia said, I’m an alien in Equestria. I don’t belong here, even though I felt more accepted here than I did on Earth.
We broke the hug, which led to a kiss. The kiss only lasted a few seconds, but felt like forever. We looked into each other’s eyes.
“I’ll miss you, Fluttershy.”
“I’ll miss you too, Mikey.”
I sighed in disappointment, turned to Celestia and Luna and nodded. “I’m ready.”
I followed behind Celestia, Luna stayed behind as a way to ensure I don’t run off anywhere. I looked past Luna and saw Fluttershy following behind her. We approached the same spot Fluttershy initially took me through. Celestia’s horn illuminated and a portal opened up. The two sisters stepped on each side of the portal, like royal guards standing by a doorway.
“Well, I guess this is it,” I said to myself. I walked into the portal. I looked down and I’m no longer my fursona. I turned back into a human being. The spell dissipated when I entered in. I turned around, seeing Fluttershy standing right in front of it, her face completely covered in tears. Before I could say anything else, the portal closed. All I see again is nothingness.
All I felt is nothingness…
Chapter 13 - Back Home(less)
The recovery ward was like any other unit. A harmony of beeps, nurses on standby at their stations, and occasional rings from the phones. It was quiet this morning.
“Doctor Richard, R7 is waking up!” the nurse doing checks shouted. Richard quickly got up and ran towards Recovery Unit 7, along with several nurses. I was talk of the entire ward.
“Michael, can you hear me?” Doctor Richard asked. I let out a yawn, stretched, and tried to let my eyes adjust to the light.
“Wh-where am I?” I asked, unsure of my surroundings and still adjusting to the bright room.
“You’re in Massachusetts General Hospital. You took a helluva lot of damage from a vehicle that lost control,” Doctor Richard said. “Don’t worry; you did suffer some damage to your head, but nothing a little surgery couldn’t fix up.”
“How long was I out for?” I asked.
“About twenty hours. You were in a coma,” Richard stated.
“Wait, where’s Fluttershy?!” I panicked suddenly.
“Relax, she’s right in your arm,” Richard assured. “She seemed important to you, so we made sure you held onto her the entire time.” Confused, I looked down at my arms, and sure enough, my plush of Fluttershy laid there in my left arm. I wrapped my hand around one of her hooves. “I’d like to keep you here until at least tomorrow. I want to be sure you’re stable before I release you. You may experience migraines, so I sent in a prescription for Amitriptyline to CVS for you.”
“Thank you, Doctor. Can I please change into some new clothes? I feel icky.”
“Sure thing,” Richard said. “Your suitcase is right there.” He pointed to the chair next to me. Doctor Richard and all the nurses left, closing the door to give me some privacy.
I got up carefully and went to my suitcase. I opened up the main compartment, noticing three items that I never put in there. However, I immediately recognized the first item. It was the bible I borrowed from Twilight, with the horseshoe print and cross. The other two items were the other books I borrowed. I put the bible on my bed and grabbed a change of clothes. I changed into the clean clothes, closed my suitcase and went to lie back down in the bed.
I studied the book and noticed a bulge on the inside behind the front cover. Turning to it, I noticed a folded-up sheet of paper. I took it out and read it.
“Dear Mikey, thank you for everything. You have brought me so much joy in the short time you were here. I already miss you and wish you could’ve stayed. I will never forget you.
“I asked Twilight if she can let you keep the book you borrowed, and she had no problem with it. Each time you see those books, please remember me.
“I will always love you, and I will think about you each day. Please don’t ever forget about me.
“With love, Fluttershy.”
Reading that letter brought me happy tears. I then remembered the scripture I flipped to. “Your sadness will turn to joy.” I was sad because I had to leave, and now I feel joyful knowing that what I had when I was in Equestria came with me. Shortly after, there was a knock at the door. I folded the letter back up, put it back where I discovered it and closed my bible.
“Come in,” I said. The door opened and a nurse came in with a tray of food.
“Thought you might be hungry,” the nurse said, lowering the tray to my lap.
“Thank you,” I said.
“Are you okay?” she asked. “You look like you’ve been crying.”
“Never better,” I assured her. The nurse walked off, leaving the door open. I bowed my head and said grace, giving thanks for the food. After I did my prayer, I looked up and saw four ghost-like figures standing by the doorway. I wasn’t sure if I was seeing things, but it looked too real. The ghosts staring back at me were Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Celestia, and Luna. All of them were smiling at me, happy to see me back home. I smiled back, tears rolling down my face. Twilight put her arm around Fluttershy, indicating to her that I am alright. Fluttershy cried happy tears with me.
A hospital card rolled by and suddenly they disappeared. It felt good to know that their spirits are still with me.
The next day I was discharged. A local church donated a tent and some food for me after the accident that occurred. Doctor Richard advised me that my medical provider was terminated for hate speech and that I’d be expecting a settlement from the hospital soon.
I also had company from Metro Boston Police, wanting to know if I wanted to press charges against the driver. I declined, considering it was just an accident and that I am still alive.
As I sat in my new tent, I reminisced on all the memories I had in Equestria, some bad and some good. I’m happy to still be alive, even though in the eyes of society, I’m no one.
I’m just glad to know that I’m important to someone in another world.
