Luna Plays Fallout 5

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

After acquiring game consoles, both Luna and Sir Todd of Howard began going through Fallout 5.

Hours passed, as the two started out leaving Vault 99 under Austin. Their purpose, find other Vaults so they may join together and rebuild America. From there they explored the raider infested ruins of the city.

Making their way through the city they eventually met a squad of the Brotherhood of Steel.

“Why is the Brotherhood in every Fallout game again? They seem to show up everywhere” Twilight asked as Luna did the first of an eight part quest-line to join the Brotherhood.

“It just works” Todd Howard explained.

As they continued to play, the true size of the map became overwhelmingly apparent for the two as it took more and more time to reach one end of it from the other.

“This map is huge. How’d you fit it into such a small file size?” Todd Howard asked, thinking how much he could make off Skyrim Super Special edition with this map size.

“Magic Darling, it’s always magic. Or friendship” Rarity explained.

“It is quite expansive, how large is the map we ask?” Luna asked as she shot a super mutant behemoth with a fat man.

“About one hundred square miles your Highness, one twenty if you include Oklahoma” Rainbow bragged about the size of her and Applejack’s game map.

“That’s a big map for a Bethesda game. Won’t it take forever to get anywhere without fast travel?” Todd asked.

“Each of the three major factions have their own unique way of speeding up travelling. The Rangers have their Hi Ho Silvers, the Brotherhood have Verti-Birds and the Legion have Chariots. Although I’m still a little uncomfortable with the idea that there are pony-like creatures that you humans ride like a train” Rainbow explained.

While the main plot-line revolves around discovering missing components to Project Lone-star, a fusion reactor hooked up to an oversized Garden of Eden Creation Kit that the three major factions would fight over, Luna was more interested in using the 100 buildable settlements to build expansive palaces for herself.

Also doing any side quests that got her items to decorate said palaces.

“Erm, your Highness? Ain’t you gonna start the main quest?” Applejack asked.

“Nah, we are good. Now how many statues should we put in our summer palace?” Luna asked as she put a horse statue down in the centre of her custom fountain.

Three weeks passed, bugs were patched and the Princess playing nine hours a day and Sir Todd of Howard playing only two-three because he had a job and family.

“Princess we need to talk” Twilight states as Luna built yet another palace.

“Hmm?” She hummed.

“I’m sure Applejack and Rainbow are happy that you are having fun but there’s more to the game than just building settlements” Twilight stated.

Uncharacteristically, Applejack hasn’t just confronted Luna about using Fallout 5 as a glorified Sims game. But with the launch of the game just one month away it was cutting it a little close.

“Oh come now Twilight We haven’t spent that much time constructing architectural wonders” Luna stated as she made a scrap metal replica of Canterlot Castle over a ruined Enclave bunker.

“Todd’s completed the main quest already” Twilight stone faced.

Letting that set in, Luna debated internally for a moment or two before replying.

“Fine, We shall fulfil our obligation to finish the main quest” Luna relented.

Over a monster fuelled three day binge, Luna completed the main quest, several faction quests and still had time to finish her Saddle Arabian style Gulf palace.

She sided with the Rangers, the descendants of the Texas Rangers, riding across the wastes on mechanical horses known as Hi Ho Silvers dispensing justice on raiders and slavers wherever they might be.

Later she went to Houston where the Brotherhood made their base and talked to Elder Grant and made an alliance with them against Caesar's Legion with her 100+ charisma build.

Which may or may not only work because her avatar has a cowboy hat on.

After the final battle the Legion was kicked out of Texas (although a few raiding parties remained) Project Lonestar was activated. As a result all settlements gained +20 electricity and +10 food and water.

“So Princess, what did ya think?” AJ asked, hoping for some fair feedback.

Opposed to answering, Luna let out a loud snore. Having stayed up for seventy two hours straight drained her energy.

“I think it’s safe to say she liked it” Twilight said with a light giggle.

“Of course she did, it’s easily 20% cooler than the last game this place made” Rainbow Dash said confidently.

“Hey” Todd Howard replied, sounding personally insulted by that statement.

“I liked Starfield” Fluttershy whispered.

With the approval process out of the way Fallout 5 was announced, put into mass production and shipped out to stores across Earth and Equestria.

It would go on to sell thirty million copies on Earth and five million in Equestria.

“One billion three hundred and ninety nine million nine hundred and ninety nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine, and one billion four hundred million. Once you take out expenses and taxes that’s still just over seven hundred and fifty million profit. Not bad, not bad at all” Todd said, having to manually count all the money they made due to Luna not trusting accountants.

“Gotta say, I’m sure glad we went with this idea instead of the first one” Applejack chuckled, thoughts of how many apple trees she could plant with her royalty checks already filling her head.

“First one?” Todd asked, bandaging the paper cuts from counting all those dollar bills.

“Well at first we wanted the big bad to be a ghoul from before the war who thought he was an Aztec god. Before the war he got cybernetic implants but went nuts and spent the next two hundred years taking over Mexico with an army of cyborgs. The player was supposed to ally at least two of the factions together to push him back, taking over settlements one after the other in huge battles with hundreds of NPCs involved before confronting him in a temple built over the lab he was augmented in” Rainbow Dash explained.

“But we thought the game would be too long and taking EVERY big settlement just so you don’t get jumped by a bunch of enemies every ten minutes so we went with a different idea” AJ continued.

“Also the map would have been nearly three times as big so without a Verti-Bird it would have been a pain in the rump to get anything done” Rainbow continued.

With this information Todd’s brain began plotting something

“Do you still have the original game on file?” He asked.

“Sure, we kept it just in case the Princess didn’t like the game we gave her” Applejack said.

“Not that she would, anything we make is awesome” Rainbow stated confidently.

That put a sly grin on Todd’s face.

“Tell me girls, have you ever heard of a DLC?” Todd asked.
