We open to a flashback that takes place over 50 years ago, on the Space Colony Ark that was still fully operational, as the camera cuts to a part of the certain part of the Arc, we see Shadow being taken somewhere by a young girl he's knows far too well, a young girl named Maria, she looked really excited over something, and she couldn't wait to show him something special.
"Shadow! Hurry! You have to see this!" Maria said excitedly as she brought him into an open room that had a different view of the Earth below, there were tons of research computer's all around the room, and on the ground were glass windows that could help give a better view of the Earth.

"What's wrong?" Shadow asked thinking there was something troubling her.

"Nothing, look!" Maria said as she had him look down towards the Earth, and we see a amazing view of beautiful lights going all over the Earth from multiple places.

"It's.. lights?" Shadow asked with confusion not really knowing what this is.

"No, it's the Aurora Borealis. You can only see them from certain latitudes down there, but from up here, you can see the whole.." Maria tried to explain as she looked at the beautiful view below them, but she could feel herself getting weaker by the second after pushing herself too much.

"The.. whole.." Maria said weakly before she nearly passed out from pushing herself too much.

"Maria!" Shadow said with worry as he quickly caught her before she hit the ground, and she only winced a bit before she opened her eyes to calm him down a bit.

"Thank you. I just.. pushed it a little.." Maria said weakly as Shadow looked down at her with worry knowing her illness is getting worse.

"The low gravity here only keeps your condition in remission, you should know better to exert yourself." Shadow said as he helped her back up so they can see the view.

"I know, your right, but when it comes to the beauty of the Earth.. I can't help myself. I can't wait for the day we can finally return.." Maria said with a smile while Shadow looked out the window to reflect on things.

"I was created here, I don't know if I have a place on Earth. Professor Gerald made me the Ultimate Life Form! I should be the key to all manner of medicines!" Shadow said with frustration as he punched the ground and nearly felt himself crying knowing what will happen if they don't find an answer soon.

"To curing you.." Shadow said with guilt as he still cant' find a way to help her, but Maria simply helped him calm down by giving him a hug to calm him down, she kept her innocent and pure smile she always has, and looks at him in the eyes to help him with this.

"You and Grandfather.. are doing your best. I'm just happy to be spending as much time with you here, while you both research.." Maria couldn't finish her sentence as something in the distance made a huge explosion within the station which sounded off the alarms across the whole ark, Shadow soon stands up and gets in front of Maria knowing there's a big threat on the ark right now.

A strange robot walks through the into the hold it had created, and began looking around the place for the target it's looking for.
"Alert! Alert! Hull breach in Experimental Weapons wing! Multiple subjects are free of containment! Lock down all...!" The Pa couldn't finish it's warning before the robot took off through the ship and destroyed even more of it as it was heading to a place Maria and Shadow both knew.

"That robot was heading for Grandfather's lab! Shadow you have to save him!" Maria begged while she grabbed her hand, but that moment suddenly made Shadow's vision flash and see a twisted image of some soldiers breaking into the station before Shadow snapped back to reality with a look of shock.

The entire place was starting to fall apart with the destruction the robot caused, and knowing it'll only get worse if he doesn't stop it, Shadow knows what needs to be done.
"I'll handle this, just stay here. I'll be back, I promise." Shadow said as he finally let go of her before he turned towards the door that opened up in the distance, and Shadow didn't waste another second to run as fast as he could to save Gerald from this robot while Maria watches on with concern.

Shadow ran through the ark as fast as he could to reach Gerald in time, everything around him seemingly fading to black as he kept running through the halls, but the light's soon came back on as he finally made it to Gerald's lab, he could see the robot was holding the old professor by the shirt and was about to attack him.

But Shadow intervened and soon rushed towards him which got the robot's attention, and it soon dropped the professor before it charged at Shadow, and they both began in an intense fight to defeat one another. Shadow and the robot clashed with eachother's fists and created a shockwave so powerful, it shattered all the chamber's around the room as the light's start to go out, but Shadow and the robot didn't stop fighting for a second. They kept rapidly punching eachother to try and land a hit, sweep one another's legs' to catch one off guard, but they were both too fast for eachother to hit currently.

Shadow soon ducked down and spun into a spin dash which made him spin around the room before he jumped in the air and delivered a single strike to him, but the robot quickly recovered and soon copied Shadow's own move and did a spin dash right as Shadow tried to use it on him again, Shadow soon got back up and kept on punching at the robot as he kept on deflecting his attacks, but after a scream of anger, he finally managed to deliver a punch to the robot's face which suddenly broke the view in front of him like glass.

But what made thing's confusing for Shadow is that all of reality shattered around him like that too, like he wasn't really there.
"What? No.. this isn't right.." Shadow said with concern just as he suddenly appears in another room, and sees what looks like an entire army's worth of ships and machine's heading towards the Ark in an invasion of sorts.

"This is the Guardian Units of Nations! Prepare to be boarded!" The announcer said over the intercom which made Shadow remember everything that happens after this moment.

"The soldiers.. they storm the Ark, destroy all evidence.. but it's too soon! It's happening too quickly!" Shadow said as he tried figuring out what's happening, but the entire room suddenly began to tilt over without proper explanation, and Shadow could barely think as he suddenly slides directly towards the window and falls through it, but instead of going out into the void of space, he found himself falling through a dark void that completely changed his reality again.

Shadow soon landed on the ground of what looked like an old cell, with numerous drawings around the walls, floors, and even the ceilings, and to Shadow's surprise, he saw what looks like Professor Gerald Robotnik tied up to a chair, with a single flickering light tilting around in a twisted way. As Shadow looks at Gerald, he sees his vision flash around him and remembered what happens at this moment as he saw Gerald screaming towards more soldiers who were coming into the room which made Shadow look at him with shock.

"Professor, we must..!" Shadow tried to get him out of his chair, but the entire place around him began to flicker again, and Shadow suddenly started to see Gerald teleport farther and father down the hall, like it was in an endless loop. Shadow tried to run as fast as he could to save him, but as Shadow reached out one last time, the entire place around him started to break apart, and he began to emerge in a strange dark area all around him.

There were dark red clouds in a storm that flashed thunder and lightning all around Shadow, reality seemingly completely warping around him as Shadow finally loses his balance. He has a look of fear as he looks towards the clouds ahead of him, and with each flash of lightning from him, he could both see and hear the horrific memory that he still regret's to this day.

He could see Maria running as fast as she could from the G.U.N soldiers taking aim and opening fire on her as lightning flashes again to show the moment she was shot during the raid on the Ark.
"Shadow! Remember!!" Maria screamed as her voice started to fade away while Shadow was horrified seeing this image happen again.

"Maria!" Shadow screamed as he went falling through the dark void, and a sinister laugh is heard as a large shadow appears behind Shadow and soon crushes him with it's claws.

This finally made Shadow snap back to the real world this time with a look of shock, he took out the Chaos Emerald he had and shot down a tree out of anger and shock after what he just saw. Shadow breathed heavily as his power sparkled around him, but he finally started to calm down seeing he's back in the real world, but that still didn't make thing's better, as he recognized who that laugh belonged too.
"That was no mere nightmare... and it all began in view of the Ark.." Shadow thought to himself as he looked at the night sky, and saw the shattered moon that was broken because of Eggman the Ark's power years ago, he could see the Ark even from here, and had many questions on what's going on.

"Could he have survived? No, it can't be. I need answers!" Shadow told himself as he was about to rush off to find a way to get there, but he was soon stopped as he suddenly felt the wind began to move far faster then it was before, and as Shadow looks up in the sky, he saw what looks like a portal opening up in the distance, and he soon saw, and heard a figure screaming as he went falling through the portal, and crashed into the field's not too far from here.

"What is that? A possible threat?" Shadow questioned as he saw the portal close while there was a large crater left behind by the figure he saw falling.

"Whatever it is, it might have answers on what I saw." Shadow concluded before he started running to where he saw the figure land in the distance.

We cut back to the moment where Spike had ended up in this strange field after he tried fighting that monster off with his mom, he was still trying to process what just happened, and as he looked at the new hedgehog he met named Shadow, he remembered Sonic telling him about Shadow some time ago after they left the islands.
"Why are you here? Who and what are you?" Shadow questioned again while Spike was getting up, still in shock of what he just went through.

"Sorry about this.. my name is Spike.. I'm a dragon. I'm a friend of Sonic's." Spike introduced which fascinated Shadow as he heard this from him.

"Really? I haven't heard about him being friends with a dragon recently, in fact I've kept been called by his friends about a birthday party he's having soon, I don't think they said anything about you being one of his friends." Shadow replied while he crossed his arms, and Spike looked surprised seeing that, not only knowing Sonic's birthday is somehow happening, but that he hasn't heard about him or his mother Angel yet despite them being friends with Sonic for months.

"But that can't be possible, I've been living in this world for months with my mother, how could you have not heard about us?" Spike questioned before he remembered an important detail he almost missed.

"I haven't heard anything about you, so how did you even get here?" Shadow asked in a bit of an aggressive tone. And that made Spike remember that monster that controlled Time from before, if it sucked him and Angel through different portals, and with those points in time he saw.. it made him think of something important.

"Hold on a minute.. you said that Sonic's birthday is happening soon right, how old is he gonna be?" Spike asked as he had an idea on how to figure this out, and Shadow recalled what Rouge told him with all the calls he's gotten about it.

"Rouge kept telling me he's turning 16, why?" Shadow asked which made Spike look shocked hearing that, Sonic, as of the time he knew him, was 18 after the Starfall Islands, and with that monster's ability's, he had a look of shock knowing what's happened.

"I think I know why you haven't heard about me.. it's because he hasn't met me yet. I know Sonic, but not right now exactly, he's around 18 by the time I know him, and if that monster did what I think it did.. then.. I may have been blown back 2 years into the past, to this moment in time." Spike theorized which surprised Shadow a bit hearing that.

"You mean your from the future? How? What brought you here?" Shadow asked wanting more detail on what he meant earlier. And Spike recalled back what happened in Station Square, and remembered what happened at that moment.

"Me and my mom were fighting against a strange monster that controlled time, we were fighting it off in Station Square together, but that monster pulled me and her through different portals that, from the looks of it, sent us to different points in time. I ended up here, but as for where my mother is.. I... don't know.." Spike said with worry for her since she's already been through so much.

This made Shadow look back on what he saw moments ago, and with the details he described, and the recent nightmare he just had.. it could mean something important.
"Then you seem to be honest, but with that in mind. What happened with this monster? Do you know where it went?" Shadow asked as he finally put his emerald away.

"I don't know, it might still be in my time period, or may be causing more trouble somewhere else, either way, I need to find out where it is, and get my mother back. Whatever this creature is, it needs to be stopped." Spike said as he looked around the field he's in to see what he can do, and that made Shadow think over what he just saw, and had a possible connection on how they could find it.

"If that's true.. then the answers we need.. could possibly be on the Space Colony Ark." Shadow said as he looked up at the sky, and Spike did the same as they saw that space station far into space.

"What makes you think that?" Spike asked as they turned to eachother to plan this out.

"I had a strange nightmare recently, it felt too twisted and unnatural, I felt a familiar power watching over me, like it was taunting me. I believe it that it was the cause of the Black Arms, a group of aliens that tried wiping out the planet some time ago, I defeated they're leader Black Doom, who tried using me as a weapon for they're army. I was destroy him, but with what I just saw, I think they may have found a way to return.." Shadow said as he tried figuring out how that's possible.

Spike was very surprised hearing that news from him, he knows Sonic's been through many adventures before, but he has heard about something like this before, and if it ties into that monster, then they may need to work together for this.
"So.. if these.. Black Arms found a way to come back, you think they have a tie into that monster I encountered? And.. it's all the way up there?" Spike asked while they were piecing it together.

"It's possible, but I need to find out for myself, I was about to head towards an old base to get a shuttle to reach it, it's the only way to reach that place." Shadow said as he turned from him like he was ready to go, and Spike knew he couldn't just stay here, if they have similar goals, they may be able to help eachother out.

"If a shuttle is the only way to get to that place, and find answers on what's going on. Then I need to come with you, I can't just let a monster roam around, I need to find it, and where my mother is." Spike said as he stood alongside Shadow, despite him being reluctant at this since they just met, they have a similar goal they need to reach, so he has to come along for this.

"If your going to come with me, try to keep up." Shadow said as his body sparked up before he suddenly took off in the distance at fast speeds, and Spike charged up his own powers and prepared to catch up with him so they can find out what's going on.

"Here we go again.." Spike told himself before he quickly boosted after Shadow to find out where he's heading, hoping they'd find out what's going on as the camera pins up to a shot of the moon, and the Ark again.

But everything around suddenly flashes again before we cut back to a memory 50 years ago again, when the moon was still whole, and the Ark was still operational.

Maria was seen walking through the halls to another room to meet up with Shadow, but as she was about to enter it, a familiar kid with grey hair and a orange and green eye suddenly ran through it in with anger of what he's seen,
"Tell that freak to stay away from me!" The kid shouted with anger before he ran off while Maria was shocked with what she heard.

"Abe!" Maria shouted as he ran off and left her alone, Maria only sighed hearing this, and she soon walked into the room Shadow was in, he was looking at a container that held a strange alien within it, and Shadow looked really upset at the sight of this creature.

"Shadow, are you alright?" Maria asked with concern as Shadow didn't look away from this one eyed creature before she came in front of him to shake him out of it.

"Maria, I'm fine.. it's just.." Shadow said with an upset look as they both looked at this creature in front of them.

"The professor created me using Alien DNA, the Black Arms he called them. The same DNA as this.. Larva... This.. ugly heartless creature.." Shadow said with disgust as the creature screeched at them from within the chamber, and Shadow only put his head on the glass after feeling lost within his thoughts, knowing what he was created with.

"I may look like a Hedgehog.. but I'm really no different from this.. thing.." Shadow said as he felt everything around him fade to black, seeing only himself and this monster at this moment.

But Maria soon came in and gave Shadow another hug to calm him down, she knows he's not like that, and with all he's done for her, she sees so much within him then he thinks.
"That's not true, you have a big heart, it may be heard for you to express it, but I know that deep down, you really do care, about me.. about all of us.." Maria assured while the two looked at eachother, and didn't notice Abe was watching them from the door, looking a bit upset still.

Maria gently grabbed his hand and had him look at her again while she kept smiling at him.
"What you do is what defines you, I know your having trouble finding answers.. but I'm certain you will one day.." Maria assured while Shadow looked at her innocent smile and felt everything around him fade, and could hear her voice one last time.

"Then, you'll find even more people you can trust." Maria assured as everything faded to white once again after all of this.

We soon cut back to the present again after Spike and Shadow started rushing towards an old Eggman base within the Dessert, the moon was still seen over the night sky as it didn't take that long for them to reach the base, but as soon as they got closer to it, they could hear alarms going off which meant they were already spotted.
"We're here! Let's go!" Spike shouted as he drew his sword again and deflected every shot being fired at him.

Spike and Shadow kept on charging through the blasts being shot at them, Shadow teleported around as the blasts kept coming at them, but Spike soon deflected the lasers back at the machine gun and soon destroyed it upon contact, and he saw that the entrance was just ahead of them.

Shadow used his strength to blow down the door without any effort, and he and Spike soon entered the base to find the shuttle they need. They were immediately surrounded by older Eggman robot models, and Spike smirked while he cracked his knuckles.
"Gotta admit, I'll never get used to bashing these robots!" Spike said as he dodged a sword slash from one of them, and he soon used tail to whip it out of it's hand before Shadow charged at it and punched it straight towards a large group of them who all were ready to fight.

"They're useless pieces of scrap, let's make this quick." Shadow said as he clutched his fist, and they both charged straight into the army to take them down, Spike rolled under another slash from the robots surrounding him and soon shot multiple fire blasts at them which destroyed multiple ones at a time, and Spike soon took out his sniper and quickly jumped up in the air, he spread out his wings again and screamed as he rapidly shot at each robot he saw coming his way.

Shadow didn't slow down at any point either, he quickly knocked a sword out of a robot's hand and jumped in the air before kicking it back at it to destroy it, and he followed that up by grabbing another robot and twirling it around at super fast speeds before he threw it to a taller pillar ahead and blew it up instantly as Spike landed back down next to him.

"Face me inferior models!" A familiar voice shouted from behind them which got they're attention, and they saw a much larger robot fighting off multiple groups at once, and he was shooting them down without any effort.

"Who is that?" Spike asked with surprise before he ducked under another slash and made another scream as he punched the thing in the chest before he grabbed it's face, and he soon slammed the thing to the ground and repeatedly punched it till it was destroyed.

"That's Omega! An old friend of mine." Shadow said as he kicked another robot away while Spike drew his sword and stood alongside him, and as they look up in the sky, Shadow sees a familiar bat known as Rouge fly over the area right under the moon before she noticed both of them.

A robot from behind was about to attack them, but she soon landed on it's head and spun it around before throwing it away to speak with the two of them.
"Evening handsome! Didn't expect to see you here. Who is this with you?" Rouge asked while looking at Spike who kept his guard up as fire was spreading over the area.

"Names Spike, just met Shadow not too long ago, but we're both here for a similar reason." Spike greeted just they all deflected more slashes from the robots around them.

"Rouge, what are you doing here?" Shadow asked while he kicked the thing away while Omega kept firing in the background, they ducked under another sword slash from the robots before Spike deflected the sword slash and spun around before he knocked the thing in the air with his tail, and Rouge followed that up by flying in the air and kicking it far away.

"Gathering some intel for G.U.N! I convinced Omega to be my backup, what are your story's?" Rouge asked as she landed on the ground and started hacking into the servers to break into the base.

Shadow kept on deflecting more sword slashes with his hands while Spike flew in the air and shot fire over the robots to take them out, and he soon landed back down and grabbed a robot with his claws before he ripped it apart without much effort thanks to his strength.
"Spike an I need a Spacecraft to reach the Ark! I have strong reasons to believe the Black Arms have returned!" Shadow said as Spike rolled next to him and used his sniper to shoot another robot in the head that was right behind them.

"Shadow and I need to reach that place to find out what's going on, I got separated from my mother, and there may be a bigger threat lurking there that caused this!" Spike shouted as he did a backflip over another robot, and Shadow quickly kicked that thing in the air towards Spike who sliced it apart with his sword easily before he landed back down.

While Rouge was fascinated with what she just heard, especially with meeting Spike right now, they didn't exactly have the time for explanations.
"Well if that's true, your both out of luck, this place is just a supply depot now." Rouge informed just as Shadow noticed something behind her, and he quickly pushed her out of the way as a far bigger robot came onto the battle field.

Spike stood together with Shadow and his team as the robot's eyes turned towards them, and got ready to fight.
"Hold that thought." Rouge said as she brushed the rubble off her while Omega slid behind them.

"I call dibs!" Omega announced while he aimed his his arm towards him as Spike growled at the robot.

"I've faced bigger robot's then this! It's gonna take way more then this to bring me down!" Spike shouted as he charged up his power to fight back. The robot slammed it's spiked hand on the floor before it threw tons of rubble towards them all, and they didn't waste another second after seeing it.

"Take it out!" Shadow ordered while he and Spike charged towards it, Spike jumped off of the ruble it threw at them and soon spread his wings again to fly in the air, and Shadow slid right under the thing while Rouge used her strength to slice down one of it's legs.

The robot's eyes glowed red and soon shot laser's directly at them which Spike deflected away with his sword, Spike soon made a battle cry and landed on the arms, he quickly jumped over another laser blast from it's eyes and started repeatedly punching the thing in the chest which was knocking it back. The robot tried throwing it's chained arm towards Rouge, but she quickly dodged it and flew down straight towards it's arm and sliced it off completely while Spike delivered a final punch to it's chest which knocked it down hard.

Shadow finished this off by skillfully jumping off the rubble into the air with a shot of the moon right behind him, and Shadow screamed as he delivered one last powerful punch which completely destroyed the robot for good which gave them time to rest.
"So, you said you met up with Shadow just recently huh? Where are you from?" Rouge asked while she landed down near Spike who looked around for any more robot's.

"Long story short, I got pulled into a portal that sent me to this point in time by a monster that attacked me and my mother. I'm a friend of Sonic's in the future, but just not right now. I met Shadow not too long ago, and after a conversation, we both decided we needed to head to the Ark to find out what's going on." Spike explained which she could only smirk at.

"So your from the future? Haven't heard that before. But what exactly was this monster that attacked you two?" Rouge asked while Spike walked back to Shadow who just wanted to get going.

"A monster that could control time in a way, pulled me and my mother into separate portals, and we both got separated because of it. I believe the only way to find out where she is, and what's going on with that monster, is if we head to the Ark and see what we can find. I know that may sound very confusing.." Spike said as Omega added in after hearing that.

"It's Time Travel, these story's rarely make any sense, even for me." Omega pointed out which everyone knew was true, but Spike kept on going to explain himself.

"But I just hope you understand, Shadow and I need to reach the Ark to find a way to stop this. If I'm gonna find my mother and a way back to my time, I can't waste another moment." Spike finished while Rouge was fascinated hearing all of this.

"Really interesting.. when exactly do you become friends with Sonic?" Rouge asked while Spike put his sword away.

"From the looks of it, I think in about 2 years thanks to Sonic turning 16 soon, but I'd rather not go into much more detail, less I wanna risk altering the future in a bad way." Spike answered which was interesting to her, and if Shadow of all people believed it, then he must be telling the truth.

"Alright then, here's the deal, I'll help you two get a shuttle, but in return, Shadow here will have to promise to come to Sonic's birthday party." Rouge teased while looking at Shadow, and he only sighed in defeat knowing it's his only option.

"Hey, if Pinkie found out you skipped a friend's birthday, she would NOT take it lightly let me tell you." Spike said as Rouge smiled seeing Shadow agree to it.

"Wonderful you two! Now.. are you guys interested in raiding a G.U.N base?" Rouge asked while she turned towards them on top of the remains of the robot.

"If it's the only way we're gonna get to the Ark, then yes." Spike said as he and everyone else soon started following Rouge to where they needed to go, while Spike still has a lot to question on what exactly is happening, if he and Shadow make it to the Ark, they might find their answers.

We cut to a special G.U.N base that held the spacecraft Spike and Shadow needed in order to get to space, Spike didn't really talk with the rest of them after they left the base, since he still just met these people who are alright with raiding a base, but since Spike isn't even known to be here yet, he's gotta do what he can to reach that colony.

A loud explosion was seen near the lower parts of the base as we cut to Spike and everyone else within an elevator after they took down numerous G.U.N robot's, Spike didn't really find them to be that difficult thanks to his experience, after slaying titans and destroying an ancient being during his first adventure, he's started to get used to all of this.

Everyone was waiting for the elevator to make it to the top while Rouge tossed away the machine's around the place, and she was also interested with what's recently happened.
"So.. G.U.N funded the research that created you, and when they got you, they sealed you away for 50 years?" Rouge asked while Shadow stayed silent after hearing all of this again.

"Was it really necessary for us to just raid the place instead of asking them given what's going on?" Spike asked as the elevator finally came to the top floor, and he quickly helped Omega remove a left over robot that was stuck to his foot.

"Well we could've asked them, but where's the fun in that?" Rouge asked with a smirk again which made Spike role his eyes at.

"If that's how it needs to be. " Spike replied with a shrug while Rouge started to get the shuttle ready to launch.

"Look, my point is, don't get too caught up in any vendetta's tonight Shadow." Rouge said as they could hear the alarm going off while Shadow crossed his arms again.

"G.U.N isn't my enemy tonight." Shadow replied as they saw a large flying robot piloted by soldier fly up towards the view in front of them to prevent them from getting on the shuttle, and seeing it only made Shadow look eager to take it down.

"Just an obstacle in my way." Shadow finished while his eyes glowed red a bit more as Spike charged up his power again.

"I call dibs!" Omega announced again which Spike found pretty funny.

"It's all yours." Spike said with a joking tone while he moved out of Omega's way as he faced the machine in front of them.

The machine started to fire rocket's straight to them to and them down, and Omega didn't hold back as he jumped straight through the glass windows in front of them, he turned his arm into a machine gun again before he dragged it across the floor and soon aimed at the machine and began firing on it to take it down.

Omega continuously fired at all the missiles that flew towards them, but when he missed one that headed directly to everyone else, Shadow effortlessly caught it with one hand as it was still going, and he soon aimed it towards the machine which completely shocked the soldier piloting it.

Shadow soon let it go which sent the missile flying towards the machine, the pilot tried to get out of the way and used flares in order to destroy it, but Shadow quickly ran across the metal ground around him and quickly teleported on top of the thing just as the missile flew by him, Shadow quickly caught the thing and threw it into the machine which started to make it fly backwards to escape it

Spike assisted in this by flying out towards the machine, he screamed as he dodged any missiles flying towards him too, and he soon landed on the machine and started to stab it over and over again with his sword to destroy it. Shadow kept on teleporting around as missile's flew all over the place and exploded upon anything they touched, but Shadow soon teleported in the air as it continued to fire at him.

Shadow kept on teleporting away from each and every missile that came at him, but once he was high in the air as more missile's surrounded him, he took out his Chaos Emerald and prepared to destroy all of them at once.
"Chaos.. Control!!" Shadow screamed again as time completely froze around him, and he used his speed and power to destroy every single missile upon one hit, and once time resumed, they all blew up instantly as Shadow charged directly down towards the flying machine after Spike took out one of it's thrusters.

"Now!" Spike screamed as he jumped in the air and flew out of Shadow's way just as he delivered a final strike to it which started to make it spiral out of control. The pilot was trying to escape the machine as it was about to explode, but the seat was jammed which he couldn't eject out of, but Shadow soon came in and ripped off the hatch as the thing kept falling down.

The soldier screamed with fear as he thought Shadow was about to finish him off, but instead, Shadow finally punched the part of the machine that helped the pilot be ejected to safety, and the pilot soon started floating away in the chair with a parachute while Spike and Shadow landed on the pathway to the shuttle, and the machine soon fell down in the background and exploded as they were walking away.

Omega looked towards the two of them as they were leaving, and felt a bit upset seeing it destroyed.
"I wanted to destroy it!" Omega shouted with an upset tone as Spike and Shadow finally got in the shuttle.

"Better luck next time Omega." Spike said with a shrug as the doors started to close behind them.

"Hmph." Shadow huffed as the doors finally closed, and Spike and Shadow soon started to take they're seats for takeoff, Spike still couldn't believe this was happening, despite the intense situation that they're in, Spike was still kinda excited for this. This is the first time he's ever going to the Ark, and space in general, especially within a shuttle, he didn't expect this night to take a turn like this that's for sure.

Spike and Shadow soon took they're seats and strapped themselves in, they made sure everything was ready before they left, and Shadow soon got in contact with Rouge again to initiate it.
"Shadow and Spike to Rouge, we're in position." Shadow reported as Spike gulped a bit and hoped thing's wouldn't go wrong.

"We're ready for launch Rouge, whenever your ready." Spike said seriously while they could see the starry sky through the window. Rouge was preparing to have the shuttle take off, and finally got the preparations done.

"Copy that and initiating launch. Good luck you two." Rouge encouraged as the alarms were going off, and the doors and window were being sealed for the take off, Rouge soon pressed her hand on a button that finally initiated the launch.

The shuttle's engines started to ignite while it was slowly rising but after a few moments, the shuttle finally started to take off into space with Spike and Shadow on it. But thing's started to go wrong as the alarms were going off and the lights were flashing red after an unauthorized launch was initiated because of them.

This made the bases security machine's and drones start to come out of the base and take aim towards the shuttle, and Rouge tried doing anything she could to stop it from destroying them.
"Omega, hurry! You have to take out those guns!" Rouge shouted as she did what she could to delay this, but a hand suddenly was placed down on the scanner, and as Rouge looks at the person who did it, she was shocked to see an old friend of hers doing it.

"This is Commander Abraham Tower, all forces, stand down." He ordered as he was revealed to be that same boy from the flashback many years ago, and that thankfully made all the machine's and drones stop taking aim at the shuttle, and Spike and Shadow soon took off into space in order to reach the Ark as the sun began to rise finally.

Rouge sighed with relief as the lights turned green again, and was extremely grateful for his help.
"Abe, I got that intel you requested." Rouge said as she put a chip into the computer's in front of them, and from that chip, it pulled up data of what looked to be the same monster that was the reason behind Spike ending up here in the first place.

"And aided in the destruction in millions of G.U.N assets." Abe said as he saw how much they destroyed just to get it.

"Oh I'm sorry, but Shadow and a new friend of his needed help saving the world, that friend of his in particular may have encountered this creature here, so we had to help them out with this." Rouge replied which interested him, and he looked back on the footage of Spike helping the team destroy more of the machines, and was fascinated with what he is.

"What is he exactly? Is he an ally to Sonic?" Abe asked while Rouge looked at the footage and remembered what Spike told them.

"Sorta, he said his name is Spike, and that he's from the future, that monster may be the reason he's here in the first place. He claims to be a dragon, and with what I've seen of him, he's certainly something else let me tell you." Rouge said as she founded him extremely fascinating, and Abe hummed a bit hearing that.

"As long as he's an ally who's willing to help, I'll allow this until we know more about him. But still, even what's passed between us, Shadow still saved the world from Black Doom, he should've known I would've supported him if he just asked." Abe said with frustration with how hard they made this for them.

"Spike asked that same thing when we got here, but honestly, when has Shadow ever asked for permission? " Rouge asked which he just found frustrating.

"You could've talked him down Rouge,." Abe countered while she only smiled a bit again and looked at the route the shuttle's gonna be taking to reach the Ark.

"There's only one person who could ever do that.." Rouge said with some guilt which made Abe sigh sadly knowing who she's talking about.

"Yes.. and she was lost to us.. a long time ago.." Abe said with guilt for her loss as they saw the long trip that Spike and Shadow are going to take on the map, and hoped they would succeed in what they needed to do.

The shuttle continues to take off into space as emotional music plays, and while Spike looks out the window, looking amazed with the sight he's seeing, Shadow is lost in his thoughts, reflecting on memory's he's both had with Maria, and a life he could've had with her if he ever found a way to save her. He'll never regret what happened on that horrible moment in his life.

Shadow started to look overwhelmed with so many emotions going through his mind, and Spike soon took notice of what's happening with him, and looked really worried for him.
"Shadow, are you alright?" Spike asked with worry which shook Shadow out of his thoughts finally after all he saw.

"I'm fine.. forget about it, we can't let anything distract us. We need to focus on the mission at hand." Shadow said as the shuttle started to detach from the rocket's helping the shuttle reach the atmosphere, and the shuttle itself soon started to take off to the colony that will take a while.

"It's gonna take a while for us to get there Shadow, but just know no matter what happens, I'm not gonna let anything harm this world, if this is because of this.. Black Doom you told me about, just know I won't let you fight him alone, I'll find my mother soon, but right now, we need to focus on our main goal." Spike said seriously as he kicked back a bit and started to take a bit of a nap knowing how long it's gonna take them to reach the Ark. And Shadow felt a bit grateful knowing he'll have him along for this journey after hearing this, while he still had his questions about him, he'll learn more about him over time hopefully.

"Let's just keep our focus Spike, there's a threat that lurks abord the Ark, and we must eliminate it." Shadow finished as the shuttle took off into space towards the Ark while the camera pins up to a shot of the broken moon with the ark not too far from it. While Spike still has a lot he's gonna need to go through during this new adventure, hopefully with what they're gonna face, it'll help him find the answers he needs, but for now, he just needs to wait until they finally reach the Ark.

But as the shuttle was leaving the Earth, far off in the distance, from within the Ark, in the same room Shadow and Maria once looked over the Earth in, a strange dark power was seen coming from it, but as the camera pins into the center of the room, 3 dark red eyes open up in a menacing way as it sensed their approach, and we see a dangerous looking figure who's been reformed on this Ark after his last battle, swearing to get his revenge..

Thanks for reading this everyone! I hope I blended Spike into Dark Beginning's well for this chapter, I just hope that it cutting back to the Ark 50 years ago didn't feel off to you guys. I do feel like there's more I can do to help Spike grow to be friends with Shadow and Team Dark in future chapters to make it feel believable, since Spike will be going through quite the different journey compared to his last one. I've gained a lot more experience as a writer since Spike's Frontier, and with what I learned, I hope I can make this a good sequel story.

I'll cut back to what happened with Spike's mother in a while, and will do my best to handle Time Travel in this story since it can get super confusing if not explained right. So I hope the detail of Spike being 2 years into the past based on this taking place as Sonic's turning 16 here was good of an explanation for now. There's a lot I'm gonna tackle with this story, so I just hope that I'm doing a good job to you guys so far, and you look forward to more!
