Chapter 8: Relic discussion.
Previous ChapterNext ChapterBad Guy was at the Golden Oaks Library as Twilight asked for him to be there for some reason. It'd been a good while since Chrysalis had been stopped and so Bad Guy hoped it wasn't about that. Then the others of the Mane 6 arrived, the CMC and Jacob were in school. "Bad Guy, we heard from both Jacob and Sweetie Belle that there are more relics of power in your world. We want to know about them," Twilight said as Bad Guy sighed.
"You better be prepared for a long discussion as my world has a shit ton more than you think. I can think of several that we'll want to avoid because one getting it has the whole world at their mercy," Bad Guy stated as all the Mane 6 members brought out various snacks.
"Let's start with those then, darling," Rarity said as Bad Guy nodded.
Bad Guy's horn lit and he started using a hologram spell to show five different objects. A black cloak, a sword that looked like a devil's horn, a red orb, a book with an ominous cupcake on it, and lastly was a helmet. "These five are the creme of the crop of powerful relics. Come into possession of one of these and... well... the world is your feast. Reality is a suggestion you can destroy on a whim. Starting from the left to the right we have: the Cloak of Infinite Power, The Blade of Light's Forever Bane, The Orb of Power, The Tome of Reality Bending, and the Godly Helmet. Each of the five has been hidden away in places none such reach but now... two have been found... the Orb of Power is in the possession of a small white dog and the Tome of Reality Bending is... somewhere. Not where the ancients put it, that much is certain.
Despite how similiar in function they all are, they are all unique. The Cloak of Infinite Power gives the wearer power but the wearer cannot give power. The Blade of Light's Forever Bane is the strongest weapon, able to warp reality, but the wielder cannot bring it out during the day or else they lose perception. The Orb of Power is absorbed to give the owner infinite power but they can be the only owner. The Tome of Reality Bending allows the wielder to, well... bend reality... but in exchange they... become a canniable. As in they eat their own kind. And lastly is the Godly Helmet... it's a special one with the tamest downside of them all. It gives the wearer infinite power at the cost of their humanity, turning them into an intelligent monster." Bad Guy then changed the hologram projected, "Those five then split into five sub-classes of powerful relics themself.
The only thing is that out of them all, only one sub-class per is unique and that's the subclass most tied to the relic. So the Cloak of Infinite Power created the Cloaking Devices sub-class, the Blade of Light's Forever Bane created the Weapon sub-class, the Orb of Power created the Consumables sub-class, the Tome of Reality Bending created the Dark Magic sub-class, and the Godly Helmet created the Armor sub-class. I'm sure you all heard about the Mark of Insanity, it was a relic in the Consumables sub-class... even if it isn't the best item to injest," Bad Guy finished, letting the information sink in.
In truth, the Mane 6 had no idea how to make use of the information but if the Mark of Insanity found its way into Equestria... what's stopping others? "Sugarcube... ah need ta ask but... what other relics could we have ta deal with if the Mark of Insanity is anythin' ta go by?" Applejack asked.
Bad Guy looked... hesitent to answer. For once, he genuinely wanted to avoid speaking. But he knew he couldn't. Bad Guy took a deep breath, "There's three I can immediately think of. Lost Ire, a blaster weapon known for firing away memories and then killing the one who used it when they run out. The Shadow Medallion, a medallion that blackens the wearers heart in exchange for control over shadows. And... well... the last one is in a language called latin and I'm not particularlly good at it but... here I good.. Gemma Corrosionis, a small red gem that corrodes the wearer's soul... irrepairably," Bad Guy shuddered as he said the last one... hang on a moment...
"That last one, Gemma Corrosionis, that sounds so similiar to our own Alicorn Amulet. The Alicorn Amulet is a powerful relic with a small red gem that corrupts the one who wears it," Twilight mentioned as Bad Guy's eyes widened.
"How is it that our worlds have similiar corruptive gemstone relics? That seems... odd. Same with the fact that I felt a godly energy from the five of you I knew before that accursed day my assistence to Nightmare Moon was wasted. Our worlds are different... yet similiar. Unlike my home I felt not the godly energy in the ground I stood on, but instead purely in you six and your elements," Bad Guy commented.
"Chillax dude, it's fine and is probably just an uncanny similiarity," Rainbow Dash said.
"But that's the issue, it's too uncanny to just be a similiarity. That's like saying Starswirl the Bearded is uncannily similiar to Twilight in concept. Because they are similiar. Both are super powerful unicorns with magic unmatched!" Bad Guy said seeming to make the group of ponies realize just how uncanny the similiarities are.
Somewhere in Equestria...
Red... a single red gem sits in a black alicorn like shape. It is the Alicorn Amulet, awaiting one to come and wear. It is Gemma Corrosionis, awaiting the one to corrupt and corrode. It has sensed the presence of the dark energy of which it was made.
Black. The shell is black and knows who should be the victim. The man with hair of blue shall be the victim.
