Before beginning the story of our two friends, we must know more about them. It is only fair we start with our unicorn friend DemiTwi. DemiTwi, as you all know, is a unicorn who loves to study and gain more knowledge daily. DemiTwi usually loses a lot of sleep from this and can harm herself in the process. Now, our story goes back a bit. Back in the place we all know and love.

Canterlot.

A younger DemiTwi reads her book in her room. DemiTwi has always been a bit of a bookworm. She was never really interested in making friends, and friendship was never her priority. The only ponies she accepted as friends were her brother and mentor.

Today was another day in Canterlot where ponies who are more fashion and gentle related do their daily things. DemiTwi was spending her time reading until she heard laughing and crying from outside. DemiTwi calls out for her parents to check the noise outside but is met with no response. The young filly closes her book and decides to check outside through her window. She sees a small pink figure on the ground with two colts standing in front of it. DemiTwi immediately tries to listen in trying to hear what they are saying.

"Haha! He's crying!" one of the colts says.

"Crybaby! CRYBABY!!! Stupid pink fur!" the other colt says.

DemiTwi couldn't believe what she was hearing. She didn't know what to do but her heart told her to confront the bullies. DemiTwi got up from her bed and headed to the front door. Her heart was beating fast, but she knew it was the right thing to do. She opened the door and stepped outside. She trotted towards the colts and pink figure.

"HEY!! Leave them alone!" DemiTwi says.

The two colts looked over at DemiTwi and started laughing.

"Look! She's defending the ugly thing!!" one of the colts says.

"Hahah! What are you gonna do?" The other colt says.

DemiTwi is suddenly filled with anger. Her expression suddenly starts to show anger.

"Awh! The filly is getting mad? Hahaha!!!"

The two colts start to laugh in her face. DemiTwi then starts to glow her horn angrily.

It isn't long before DemiTwi's magic gets out of control and shoots at the two colts missing slightly. The colts look at DemiTwi shocked and run away in fear.

"RUN!! SHE'S CRAZY!!!" The colt says in fear running next to the other.

DemiTwi calms her magic down. She pants due to the amount of magic she has just used. She has never used her magic in that way. She had never had that much magic before either. She clears her head before heading to the small pink figure.

"Ahem... uhm... are you okay?" DemiTwi says softly.

The pink figure looked up to her teary-eyed.

"yes.." The pink figure said.

"Woah... you're a... a dragon! With... with fur... I have never seen anything like this before!" the filly said excitedly.

The pink dragon kept his head low in fear. DemiTwi noticed this and immediately calmed herself.

"Where are your parents?" DemiTwi asked.

"...they... I don't know... I-I just ended up here..." the dragon said.

DemiTwi's expression turns into one of sympathy. She pats the dragon's head trying to reassure she is not a threat.

"Come on... I'll take you with me till we find your parents alright?" DemiTwi said.

The ping dragon nodded. DemiTwi held the dragon with her magic and put him on her back. The action of using magic didn't even cross her mind despite never being able to use it due to her not knowing properly and not having a cutie mark to assist.

"What's your name?" DemiTwi asked, "I'm DemiTwi."

"I'm... DemiSpike."

The two made their way into the home where DemiTwi's parents had finally waken. The parents are shocked to see a dragon inside their house. A furry one at that.

Dawning Sparkle is the mother of DemiTwi while Darky Night is the father.

"DemiTwi?" Dawning Sparkle says, "Why did you-"

"His parents are nowhere to be found... he doesn't even know how he ended up here himself... he was being made fun of by other colts," DemiTwi explains.

"Oh, you poor thing... wow. A dragon with fur. That's new." Darky Night says.

"Now it'll be okay you cute furball. We'll take care of you till we find your parents. What's your name?" Dawning Sparkle asks.

"His name is DemiSpike." DemiTwi answers.

"Alright, DemiSpike. We will take good care of ya. He says patting DemiSpike's head.

The parents continue to try and comfort the dragon until Dawning Sparkle gasps.

"Honey, are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Dawning Sparkle asks.

"Yes... I am." Darky Night says looking at DemiTwi.

"What? Is there something on my face?" DemiTwi asks.

"Your... you got your cutie mark!" Dawning Sparkly says happily with a tear falling down her eye.

DemiTwi looks over at DemiSpike who points at her flank. DemiTwi looks to see a star where her flank is. She had gotten her cutie mark.
