A Sunshyne Love Story

The Rainbooms had just finished practicing their new song, Shine Like Rainbows. After defeating the Dazzlings, the rest of the students at Canterlot High had forgiven Sunset Shimmer and were finally ready to give her a second chance.

“That was so much fun.” Pinkie Pie said.

“I know, it feels so good to pony up whenever we play.” Rainbow Dash added.

“And it’s even better now that Sunset can pony up too.” Fluttershy said.

Sunset blushed at the comment.

Rarity walked up to Sunset and placed her hand on her shoulder.

“Perhaps now would be a good time to tell Fluttershy how you feel, darling.” Rarity told her.

“Really?” Sunset asked.

Applejack walked up to both Rarity and Sunset.

“Come on, Sunset, tell her.” Applejack said trying to boost Sunset’s confidence.

Sunset gave it some thought and decided that she would finally tell Fluttershy how she felt about her.

“Okay, I’ll do it. But please, give us some space.” Sunset said.

“Okay, sugar cube, we’ll give you some space.” Applejack responded as she and the others walked away.

Sunset felt nervous for a moment, but then took a deep breath as she walked up to Fluttershy.”

“Fluttershy, can talk to you for a minute please?” Sunset asked.

“Sure, Sunset.” Fluttershy said. “What is it?”

“Fluttershy, you were the first real friend I’ve ever made, and I’m very grateful for that.” Sunset began. “But I see you more than just a friend.”

“Huh?” Fluttershy asked.

“Fluttershy, you are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met.” Sunset continued. “Both on the inside and the outside. You have the biggest heart of anyone I know. You care a lot about animals, your friends, and anyone who needs help. What I’m trying to say is… I love you, Fluttershy.”

Fluttershy gasped in shock at what she had heard. Sunset looked at Fluttershy and almost felt defeated.

“Maybe I shouldn’t have said that.” Sunset said. “I‘ll just go.” Sunset turned around was about to walk away.

“Sunset, wait.” Fluttershy said.

Sunset turned back and saw Fluttershy had a warm smile on her face. Fluttershy then leaned in closer and kissed Sunset on the lips. Sunset was taken aback by this, but the kiss felt so magical. She then kissed Fluttershy back. After a few seconds, they broke off the kiss.

“I love you too.” Fluttershy said.

Sunset was shocked to hear this. That Fluttershy loved her back.

“You do?” Sunset asked and then Fluttershy nodded her head in response.

“During the Battle of the Bands, when you ponied up for the first time, I saw how brave you are, and it made me happy to see how much you’ve changed.” Fluttershy said.

Sunset smiled and held Fluttershy in a tight hug.

“This is the happiest day of my life.” Sunset said with tears of joy in her eyes.

“Mine too.” Fluttershy responded as she hugged Sunset back.

Unbeknownst to them, the others were watching them from a distance.

“Aww, isn’t that so sweet?” Pinkie asked.

“Indeed it is, Pinkie.” Rarity answered.

“I just hope Sunset treats her well.” Rainbow said.

“Don’t worry, Rainbow, I’m sure she will.” Applejack added.
