A red eyed menace
The wind howled throughout the Everfree forest as a mass of snow fell furiously from the sky, no living thing would dare stay out in this weather for long.
Lying in the snow was a dark black pegasus, his mane was messy but styled in a sort and his flank showed what seemed to be a blue speaker, his eyes however were blocked from view from a pair of dark sunglasses.
The pony awoke with a start. “Where am I.” he thought. “more importantly who am I?”
“Hey you over there, are you awake!” he heard a voice call out, but before he could identify the source he passed out.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?”
“Well did you expect me to leave him in the snow?”
“Well.... no but he could be dangerous for all you know Glade.”
“Oh shush Ice you're being paranoid... wait... I think he’s waking up!”
The pony awoke to a couple of strange voices arguing over something, looking down on him were two unicorns, one was a female she had a faint lavender coat with a snow white mane and eyes as blue as the sky, her flank held the emblem of a snowflake.
The other was a gruff looking make with a deep blue coat and a neat black mane his eyes were a light green, his most notable feature was his two demon like horns sprouting from his mane, he had the mark of an ice cube upon his flank.
“Where am I?” the pony asked.
“You’re in our home.” the female replied “I found you passed out in the snow and brought you back here, even though my brother here was against it.” she held out a hoof “I’m Snow Glade and this hardass is my brother Ice.”
The pony shook her hoof. “Thank you for your hospitality Miss Glade I don’t wish to be a bother to you.”
“Then go ahead and leave.” Ice grumbled.
“ICE!” Glade shouted at her brother. “I’m so sorry about him, he’s really hostile around others.”
“I can see that.” the pony said glancing towards him, Ice gave him a deathly glare.
“Well if you're so smart why don’t you give us your name, smartass” Ice growled.
“My- my name?.” The pony asked himself. “What is my name?” He thought furiously.
“Come on bro that was awesome, I’ve never seen a pony that can drop beats like that in my entire life!”
“Thanks man but you know I’m not that awesome.”
“Are you kidding me Shade? I’m telling you, one day the whole world is gonna line up to see Shade Nightwing perform.”
The pony rubbed his head as he felt a mild migraine as he relived a memory.
“My name is Shade Nightwing.”
“Shade huh, got something to do with these silly things” Ice mocked pointing to his sunglasses “Why do you even wear those anyway, here lemme do the right thing.” Ice took the glasses off his face and immediately regretted it.
Shade’s eyes adjusted to the sudden change in lighting, it was as if his eyes were somehow a lot less useful in the light, looking towards the other two he wondered what was with the horrified looks on their faces, that was when he looked in the mirror, his eyes were a crimson red, a VERY disturbing and rare colour.
“That’s it he’s out of here.” Ice declared opening the door and pointing at Shade. “Get out now.”
Shade was about to comply when Glade jumped in. “ICE for Celestia’s sake can you calm down and give him a chance, for starters nopony can survive in that weather and secondly you're the one who took his shades off him.”
Ice stared his sister down and sighed. “Fine, but I want him out by tomorrow, he can look for a place to stay in Ponyville.”
“Ponyville?” Shade asked.
“Yeah you know, Ponyville the small town two clicks north from here.”
“I’ve never really heard of it.”
“By Faust have you got amnesia or something?”
“Maybe, I can only remember my name and anything that a normal pony would know “
“Well Sis you can deal with him, I’m going to bed.” he finished heading off to his room.
Glade turned to face Shade. “I’m really really sorry about him, he’s always so protective of me, you said you have amnesia didn’t you?”
“Yeah, I can remember fragments but thats it.”
“Well I’m sure they’ll come back in time, hey can I ask if you know what your cutie mark means?”
Shade turned to look at the blue speaker upon his flank. “I’m not sure, I’m guessing it’s something to do with music or something loud, what about you?” he asked staring at her snowflake cutie mark.
Glade giggled “Well for one you can stop staring mister.” Shade blushed slightly. “and I’m what’s known as an Iceblood, a special pony that can master any form of ice or snow no matter what race of pony they are, pegasi have better control over snowstorms, some earth ponies can create ice structures with their bare hooves and unicorns like myself and Ice have the ability to manipulate snow and ice in any way we want: from creating snow golems to building Ice fortresses we have a great gift when it comes to winter.”
“Wow.....I never knew there was such special types of ponies in the world.”
“Oh trust me, wait till you’ve seen the crystal ponies, they are just strange.”
“Is it okay if I ask, does Ice have any reason why he’s so protective?”
“Oh... well, I think thats a story for another time, it’s getting late and um, you should get some rest.”
Shade was curious about her strange behaviour but shrugged it off. “I presume that I will sleep on the couch?”
“Yes, sorry we never have guests so there’s no guest room.”
“Don’t worry miss, It’s better than freezing my flank off out there.”
“Well goodnight.” she said going up her room.
“yeah... Night” he replied lying on the couch and drifting into a deep slumber.
“Come on Shade you know you can do better than that.”
“Sorry Vinyl I’m not in the mood.”
“Oh come on don’t give me that, tonight it’s Shade Nightwing and Vinyl Scratch performing live on stage, what do you think ponies are gonna do if it’s cancelled all because somepony ‘wasn’t in the mood.’”
“Alright I get it geez”
Shade awoke once again
“Vinyl....”

Chapter 2
Reunions
Shade Groaned as his head ached from the dreams he had last night, he tried to remember what they meant.
All he could remember was that he should find ‘Vinyl’ as soon as possible.
“Good morning” came a familiar voice, Shade turned to meet Glade with a cheery smile.
“Morning” he replied, slowly getting up.
“I know it’s kinda early but we should head off for Ponyville before Ice gets grumpy again, you know what he’s like.”
“Fine by me, although do you really think I’ll find what I need in Ponyville?”
“Trust me, that place has given everypony a second chance, plus unlike Canterlot and Manehattan theres none of those uptight noble’s who think they’re better than everyone else.” The last part she spat aggressively.
“I guess you're not a fan of them.” Shade chuckled causing Glade to snap out of her state.
“Sorry I’ve just had some bad run ins with a few of them.”
Shade shook his head. “Nah It’s fine, I guess I’d be angry if a bunch of uptight assholes started looking down on me.”
“Anyway, let’s get out of here before hardass up there get’s up.” Glade suggested trotting out the door, shade followed suit. “Next stop Ponyville.”
Twenty boring minutes later.
Shade was quite surprised when he saw Ponyville, what he thought would be a small quaint village but this place looked as busy as Manehattan.
“Surprised?” chuckled Glade.
“Yeah... From what memories I have, I’ve never seen a place like this.”
“Trust me you’ll love it here, thanks to this town me and Ice have a great life, who’s to say the same won’t happen to you?”
As they walked through town Shade would notice some ponies staring at him as if he was out of place.
“Don’t worry, it’s rare that there are new ponies in town, which reminds me you should keep an eye out for-” Glade was cut off as a Pink mare with a poofy pink mane materialised in front of them, she noticed Shade and gasped then shot off like a bullet.
“-Pinkie Pie.” Glade finished smiling.
“What was THAT?!” asked Shade unsure of what had just transpired.
“Don’t worry, that’s Pinkie Pie the resident party pony. Now that she’s seen you you’ve got a party coming your way.”
“A party? why would somepony throw me a party for no reason?”
“Two words; Pinkie Pie.” Glade answered leaving a bewildered Shade behind.
Shrugging off the encounter Shade caught up with Glade and they headed to the market They continued walking until they heard a voice calling.
“HEY GLADE OVER HERE!” they turned to see a blue pegasus galloping towards them.
“Oh hey Navy I didn’t expect to see you here.” Said Glade greeting the newcomer.
“Ditto, Ice usually keeps you in when the weather’s like this.” he replied chuckling, he turned to face Shade. “Oh? who’s this, is he your coltfriend?”
Both Shade and Glade blushed. “NAVY, no he’s not I just met him yesterday. Shade this is my friend Navy Shadow .”
“Nice to meet you” Shade said holding out his hoof.
“Likewise” Navy replied shaking it.
“I was just showing Shade around town, do you have any ideas?”
“Well I’m going to see Vinyl perform tonight, she’s been really tense lately something about one of her friends going missing.”
Shade’s pupil’s dilated but luckily his sunglasses hid them. “Did he just say Vinyl? I should keep calm in case they suspect something’s up!” He thought.
“Hey I haven’t seen Vinyl in ages, do you mind if we come with you?” Glade asked.
“Sure I don’t see why not, the more the merrier eh”
“Hey Shade I’m sure you’ll love to meet Vinyl, she’s got a real talent in music so she could help you remember yours.”
“Wait what do you mean by remember?” asked Navy. Glade told him about how she found Shade unconscious in the snow and how he had very little memories. “Wow you’re one weird pony.” he chuckled.
“Meh.” was Shade’s reply.
“Anyway I gotta go meet up with the others, see you tonight guys” Finished Navy as he sped off in a flash.
“Geez he’s fast.”
“Yeah Navy tends to stick with stealth and swiftness so he’s known as the fastest pony in Ponyville... Next to Rainbow Dash that is.”
“Who?”
“Oh trust me you’ll meet her soon enough. She has quite a large competitive ego so watch what you say.”
“....alright.”
“Anyway, I should show you around some more then we can head to the club.”
“Lead on.”
The Everfree forest.
A dark grey pony sat In the middle of a clearing, his mane was a messy black and white and his flank held a guitar with a comet orbiting it, his sea blue eyes observed a small strand of brown hair he had found at that spot.
“Where are you Shade?” he said to himself.
A few hours later
After leading Shade around Ponyville Glade was now leading him to Navy’s house, she tapped her hoof on the door and was met by a black pony with a green and black mane and A infinity symbol with a blade going through it as his cutie mark.
“Oh hi Atom long time no see.” said Glade cheerfully.
“Hi Glade.” Atom replied “If you’re looking for Navy he’s just finishing something up.”
“He’s writing novels... Isn’t he?”
“Yeah.” Atom noticed Shade standing behind her. “Who’s this?”
“Oh this is Shade, he’s coming with us to see Vinyl. Shade this is Atomic Vortex , Navy’s roommate.”
“Nice to meet you.” Atom said.
“Likewise.” Replied Shade. (wow these conversations need more colour)
“I’ll get him now. OI NAVY GET YOUR SORRY FLANK DOWN HERE!” Atom suddenly shouted.
“ALRIGHT I’M COMING GEEZ!” called Navy, speeding down from upstairs.
“Hey Navy.” said Shade.
“Sup guys, let’s go.”
Ten minute time skip.
Shade was awestruck with what he was seeing, there were at least a hundred ponies all grouped around the dancefloor as the DJ played. The DJ was a white unicorn mare with a two toned blue mane and a backwards double quaver for a cutie mark, her eyes were blocked by a large pair of purple glasses.
Shade couldn’t help but think he’d seen her before.
“So Navy, how do you know this mare!” Shade shouted over the crowd.
“Well a while back me and Vinyl were best friends through school and I guess over time we came to see each other as brother and sister.”
“Yep Navy got friendzoned by a good looking mare.” Atom butted in.
“ATOM STOP SAYING THAT ALL THE TIME”
“Make me.” He replied and was given a kick in the balls by Glade.
“Behave or you lose them.” she warned.
“Y-yes madam.”
Shade noticed that the DJ had finished her performance and was coming down off the stage, Navy went up to meet her.
“Hey Scratch how’s it going.” he asked her.
“Sup Navy and I’m fine, I see you brought your fillyfriend with you this time.” She nodded at Glade causing him to blush.
“D-dammit Vi quit saying that.” he stammered, Vinyl just laughed at his predicament until she noticed who was at the back of the group.
“S-Shade?!” Vinyl stuttered, Shade had no time to react as he was grabbed into a hug by her.
“OMIGOSH YOU'RE OKAY SHADE I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!” she cried.
“I’m sorry Vinyl but I can’t remember anything, all I know is my name and that yours means something.” Shade explained sadly.
“Oh... Wait if you're okay that means Star is okay as well, maybe he could get your memories back!” Vinyl said hopefully.
“Okay Vi what the hell is going on.” Navy asked angrily glaring at Shade.
“Okay it goes like this...”

**Chapter 3
Memories**
wow as soon as I posted this it got disliked, COME AT ME BRO’s, going to note that if you comment something like “OC stories are crap” or “This sucks” without any constructive criticism your going to be ignored and I’ll probably delete it
“I guess I should start from the beginning, it all started while I was on tour a few years back...”
“WHAT’S UP MANEHATTAN? ARE YOU READY TO FACE THE BEAT?!” Vinyl shouted into the mic, to which the ponies replied with a monstrous cheer. Vinyl grinned and started playing the music causing the ponies to scream the house down as they danced to the beat.
Vinyl noticed two ponies standing backstage out of the corner of her eye, one of them was busy testing his guitar but the other seemed to have his gaze transfixed on her even though his eye’s were covered by a pair of sunglasses, he noticed that she saw him and turned to the other pony who said something which she couldn't hear over the music and disappeared backstage, Vinyl finished off her performance and headed backstage as the host announced the next band.
“Everypony give it up for DJ Nightwing and Starflare.” The crowd went wild as the two ponies from before walked up on stage and started playing their music; the one with sunglasses worked the turntables while the other held a guitar in his hooves strumming away, the duo continued on for a good while before heading off stage as the crowd cheered louder than ever.
Vinyl caught up with the DJ. “Hey bro those were some sick beats you were dropping out there.”
“Thanks, you weren’t so bad yourself.” He replied “Name’s Shade by the way.”
“Vinyl Scratch, you on tour as well?”
“Nah me and Star have been performing here a couple of weeks now so we’re quite popular.” Shade turned to Star. “Hey Star you want a drink?”
“Nah, I’m gonna go pack and head back to the apartment.” He replied.
“Suit yourself bro, you want a drink Vinyl?”
“Sure why not.” she replied sitting down at the bar, Shade bought them both a beer.
“So why are you staying here in Manehattan if you have so much potential?” asked Vinyl.
“Well... you see, me and Star, we’re not fans of showbiz.” Shade awkwardly replied.
“Oh come on! You guys could be famous, you could have fans screaming your name from all over Equestria.”
“And that’s why we don’t want to.” Vinyl was puzzled. “Having fame is great but eventually it all gets to you and you notice you can’t go five feet without being asked to sign this or take a picture with that”
Vinyl thought about it for a moment, in a way he was right, many times had she had to disguise herself just to avoid the many fans that would swarm her when she was in a town other that ponyville.
They continued talking for several hours when a large stallion followed by two others walked in, the other ponies seemed to cower in fear of him.
“Ah crap not this prick again.” Muttered Shade.
The stallion scanned the room and walked over to the bar with Vinyl in his sights “Hey baby want to see what a real stallion is like?” He flirted.
“Nice body build, you compensating for something?” She replied laughing but was cut off as a hoof hit her face.
“Bitch.” The stallion rose his hoof again but was stopped by Shade.
“I’m going to give you ten seconds to leave before I kick your ass.” He told him darkly.
The stallion laughed at the sight. “Oh? You and what army?” He swung his hoof down on Shade but was confused when it hit thin air, suddenly he was sent flying across the room and collided with the wall, Shade was stood where he was before holding a Datio in his hooves, the blade seemed to have a red dragon insignia.
“I don’t need an army, armies are too mainstream anyway.” He said coolly, the two cronies rushed at him, Shade simply sidestepped and punched one of them in the face while hitting the other with the back of his blade knocking them both out instantly.
Shade walked over to Vinyl, who was still recovering from the punch. “You alright?” He asked.
“Y-yeah I think so.” She replied clutching her face.
Suddenly the stallion appeared behind Shade ready to drop a stool on his head when he was sent flying through the air again by Star.
“Stay the buck down.” He said.
“Thanks bro. Say, you got any ice on you?” Star walked over to the bar and took some of the ice cubes.
“I do now.”
“Come on Vinyl, you can rest at our place.” Said Shade, whilst carrying her out of the club.
“From that day on me, Shade and Star were great friends and sometimes we even would collaborate with our music. Me and Shade would mix beats while Star... Well, Star could play anything with strings ANYTHING: Guitar, violin, cello, banjo even a ukulele at one point, everything was going great until one day...”
Vinyl was setting up while Star was tuning his guitar, Shade was busy writing the lyrics for a song he had been working on but wouldn't give Vinyl the details, all seemed to be fine until a massive explosion occurred followed by a torrent of fire.
“WOAH WHAT THE BUCK?!” Shouted a startled Star.
“SHIT, VINYL GET OUT OF HERE!” Shade shouted. Vinyl did as he said and left the building just as a final explosion obliterated the club, Vinyl stood there devastated as the building burned “S-SHADE, STAR NO!!!” She screamed, sobbing in front of the blazing building.
“After that day I’ve tried to forget what happened, I thought you were dead Shade... You really don’t remember anything at all do you?”
Shade was having a mixture of emotions, Happiness because he found out some of his past, confusion because he apparently had a brother and sadness because of the pain Vinyl had been through “I-i...” He stammered before he turned away and walked out to clear his head.
Heading out of the bar and into a deserted alley Shade sat down and tried to focus.
“Well well. Looks like I didn’t have to go far to find you” Came a voice, Shade turned just in time to see a hoof hit him in the face knocking him back a couple of metres, getting back on his hooves he focused on his attacker: It was a cloaked stallion of average build holding a dagger in his hooves.
“Time to die Nightwing!” He laughed, lunging at him, Shade closed his eyes and waited for the impact... That didn’t come.
Slowly he opened his eyes to see the dagger inches from his face with a hoof holding it in place.
Stood next to the attacker was a pegasus the same colour as him with blue eyes and a black and white mane.
“Back the buck off!” He said punching him in the gut winding the attacker.
“So *cough* both nightwings are here *cough* looks like I’m outgunned.” The attacker struggled to say.
“Damn right you are.” said the pegasus.
“Heh heh, don’t think you’ve won Starflare, I’ll be back.” Suddenly he vanished.
“Cunt... Shade you okay?”
“Y-yeah.... who are you?” Asked Shade.
“Buck, looks like that goddamn memory spell really did hit you bad, it’s me bro, starflare”
“Starflare...”
“S-star?!” Shade exclaimed suddenly.
“*sigh* Well at least it didn’t take them away permanently.”
“SHADE! where are you!?” Came Vinyl’s voice, Shade saw her come into the alley and stop in her tracks
“Star?!”
“Hey PON3.” He chuckled giving her a hug, he noticed Navy glaring at him “What?”
“Guys how are you both alive? I saw that explosion and nothing could have survived that!” Questioned Vinyl.
“Sorry Vi but that’ll have to wait for now, Shade just got attacked by somepony.”
“What?!” She exclaimed rushing to Shade “Are you okay?”
“Yeah I’m fine Vinyl, though Star....how did he know our last names?”
“I’ll tell you later bro, for now we need to get a place to crash.”
“Hey if it’s okay with you guys you can crash with me for as long as you need to.” Vinyl offered.
“I’m not sure Vinyl, I would really hate to freeload off a friend” said Star.
Vinyl raised a hoof “Don’t worry about it, I got more than enough bits to support myself so I don’t see why not. Plus Octavia has been wanting to meet you for some time.” she nudged flare at the last part.
“Fine I give, but we’re finding our own place as soon as possible.”
Vinyl laughed as the trio set off for her house leaving behind Atom, Navy and Glade.
“Well screw you guys I’m going home.” said Atom leaving the scene.
“Oh no...” Muttered Glade worriedly.
“What is it?” asked Navy.
“I can’t go back home at night, the area could be full of manticores or I might run into a cockatrice!”
“Hey how about this? I walk you back home and if anything comes out I’ll take it on.”
“Would you do that... for me?”
“Why not I don’t see why you should have to be left alone and afraid.”
“Oh thank you!” She said while hugging Navy. “Come on then I really need to get back before Ice comes looking for me.”
“Yeah... You’re welcome.” Navy muttered following after her.
“Did you find him?”
“Yes sir, but before I could take care of him Starflare showed up.”
“FOOL! You know your powers could have taken him on easily.”
“My apologies sir... It shall not happen again.”
“No matter, I have a plan to drag him out of hiding.”
There we go chapter 3 is done and dusted, to those who have submitted their OC’s, You will be added but the majority of you will have to wait unil Ch 5 or 6
**Chapter 4
PAAAARTY TIME**
“You notice that feeling inside of you?”
“Y-yeah, it’s weird but it feels so.... welcoming”
“That’s your true magic Shade, if you can utilize it, you can do an infinite amount of things.”
“H-how do I do it?”
“You’ll learn in time kid.”
Shade groaned as his head ached from the dream, although he could only hear voices it seemed so.... familiar.
Shrugging it off as a one time thing Shade proceeded downstairs to see if Vinyl was awake.
As they had arrived the night before Vinyl had found a note from Octavia stating that she would be in Canterlot for the next few days, wherever that was. After Vinyl discovered this information she stated that, “‘Tavi is in for a treat when she comes back.”
Shade reached the kitchen to find a note on the table:
Gone out
Had some work to do
Help yourself (Top cupboard on the right)
Shade chuckled, she did have a job to do and apparently being a DJ was a busy one. He looked around the house for Star but he didn't seem to be anywhere in the house. Shrugging it off he checked for food, the cupboard was packed with muffins, crisps (That’s chips to you americans) and many bottles of Mountain Dew.
“Seems legit.” He thought grabbing one of each and slouching on the couch she had in the other room. He was halfway through his makeshift meal when a loud crashing noise was heard from outside. Shade dashed through the door to meet a agitated looking Star staring at a crater in the middle of the field.
“Er... do I have to ask?”
“No Shade, no you don’t, come on I want to take a look round town.” His brother told him as he headed down the path next to the house that leaded into Ponyville. Shade shook his head and followed him as they entered the town, not many ponies were to been seen, for some strange reason everypony was missing. It was as if they had deserted the town.
“Where the heck is everypony?” asked Star.
“Er... holiday?” Shade guessed.
He sighed “Let’s go look around for them then.” He said trotting towards town hall.
Shade followed suit as they both went around town searching for everypony, they were about to give up when they noticed a blue shape followed by a grey shape moving towards them.
“Is that Navy? HEY NAVY OVER HERE!” Shade shouted to him
“Finally I found you two, me and Gray have been looking for you all morning.” He told them as he approached.
“Gray?” Shade asked noticing the unicorn behind Navy, his mane was a darker grey than his light grey coat, his eyes were a hazel brown underneath the pair of glasses he wore.
“Hey ,I’m Gray Matter.”
“Hi.” Shade replied. “Well Navy do you know where everypony went?”
“No I don’t actually.” He told them. “I came back after showing Gray around and suddenly everypony was missing.”
“Hmm maybe we should check Sugarcube corner. I heard that some ponies were heading over there for something yesterday.” Suggested Star. A look of sudden realisation appeared on Navy’s face for a moment, but was dispelled as quickly as it came.
“What’s wrong Navy?” asked Shade.
“What? Um nothing, nothing is wrong.” Navy told Shade unconvincingly.
“Okay...” Shade shook his head, Navy was hiding something but he couldn’t work out what, he decided to question him later after they had checked Sugarcube corner.
A quick trip to Sugarcube Corner
“Am I the only one who wonders how in Tartarus did they make a house of gingerbread?” Asked Shade.
“Actually, now that you mention it, it is quite surprising how no one ever asks that... Or how it hasn’t been eaten yet.” Replied Gray.
“Let’s just see if anypony is here and we’ll be on our way.” Shade trotted up to the door of the oversized treat and stuck his head in.
“SURPRISE!!!”
Shade, Star and Gray almost had a heart attack as the entire town was crammed into the store.
“Woah what the buck?!” Star exclaimed, suddenly the pink pony from yesterday came from seemingly nowhere and jumped in front of the three.
“Hi I’m Pinkie Pie and I threw this awesome party for you guys isn’t this great we’ve never had THREE ponies visit Ponyville before!” the pink pony exclaimed at hyperspeed.
“Er... Yeah, so you set this entire thing up in one day?” asked Shade
“YEAH Everypony comes to a Pinkie Party!” Pinkie cheerily stated.
“What about Ice?” called Snow. Pinkie replied by pulling Ice from behind a table
“WOAH What the buck?” Asked Ice.
“Two words Ice, Pinkie Pie” Navy told him. Ice decided to ignore the fact he was dragged out of thin air and joined the party.
Shade wasn’t sure what he should do, on one hoof he could meet some new ponies and probably get a few memories back, on the other hoof he could look around for Vinyl.
“YO SHADE OVER HERE!” Called a voice. He looked over towards a mini stage set up with Vinyl behind some turntables.
“Hey Vi what’s going on?” He asked, she flashed him a smile and gestured towards the crowd.
“Well obviously the crowd wants to hear some beats, wanna help me give em what they want just like old times?”
Shade thought the offer over, although he would love to take her up on that offer he also had very little memories and could probably not play music like he used to, that was when a feeling hit him, the same feeling he felt when he remembered Star, it was a memory, suddenly he was hit with a huge headache as a song entered his mind.
A smile crept upon his face. “Sure, but let me take this one, I want to try something.” (Okay I’ll admit I don’t fully know how DJ’ing works but deal with it) taking place at the turntables Shade started to play his song .

Everypony went wild by the end of the song, cheering for an encore, Shade turned to Vinyl who nodded and took over.
“Alright everypony, Shade is done for now so let’s give him a rest.” She said to the crowd.
Shade got down from the stage and headed over to where he saw Navy and Snow talking.
The two seemed to be engrossed in their conversation so he decided to look around for more ponies to talk to.
Unfortunately he wasn't in the mood for conversing with random strangers out of the blue, sighing he slowly slipped out to the back of the bakery and sat down outside, calming himself with the sounds around him.
"You never were the social type." Came a familiar voice. Shade looked to the corner of his eye to see his brother standing there smirking.
"There's a lot you haven't told me about myself you know."
"Yeah well... I was kinda hoping it would all come back to you, looks like that bastard hit you hard."
Shade perked up. "What bastard?"
His brother sighed in defeat "You didn't lose your memory through a bump on the head Shade, your memories were stolen by a spell."
“Why would somepony steal my memories?”
“Well you see...” Star started before Pinkie burst outside and landed in front of the two
“Hey guys! What'cha doin’ outside when the party’s in there?” She asked pointing a hoof towards the door.
“Oh hey Pinkie, I guess we should really go back.” Shade got up to head back in when suddenly another dose of pain shot through his head, only this time it was different.
After the pain subsided he opened his eyes, hiding his expression behind his sunglasses.
“You okay bro?” Star asked him with a look of concern.
“Y-yeah... I think so.”
Star shook his head and walked past his brother. “I probably should have told you this before, but when you finally get your memories back it’s gonna hurt like a bitch.”
“No shit Sherclop.” Shade muttered under his breath. As the two headed inside they saw Vinyl had racked up quite a crowd, ponies were pumping their hooves in the air chanting her name.
“ALRIGHT EVERYPONY! Are you ready for some more beats?” The crowd cheered in response. “THEN LET’S DROP THIS BEAT!”
Shade smiled at the sight, he sat down at one of the tables that were conveniently around
“Hey you’re Shade right?” A voice next to him called, looking over Shade could see a blue unicorn with a pale white mane coming towards him, the unicorn’s eyes were hidden behind a pair of aviators.
“Er, yeah that’s me.”
“Leaf Disc.” The unicorn said holding out his hoof. “Aka DJ INS4NITY.”
“You’re a DJ as well?” Shade asked him curiously
“Pretty much, I came here to come visit Vinyl but I wasn’t expecting YOU to be here.”
“What’s so special about me?”
“Oh dude, she wasn’t kidding when she said you can’t remember anything was she?” Disc face hoofed in frustration.
“Pretty much.”
“Dude you were awesome when you played, you, Vinyl and your bro were the best in Manehattan. You should come by my place later and I’ll show you what I mean.”
“Okay... if it’ll get my memories back I’ll do it.”
“Great, just ask Vinyl where I live and I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said as he trotted off somewhere “Oh and also could you ask Octavia if she could help me out when she comes back!”
“Will do.” Shade told him, looking back at the crowd a smile crept up of his face, this was going to be a LONG night.
“Sir the soldiers are here”
“Excellent, did they find him?”
“Yes sir... but there’s a problem”
“what...kind of problem”
“The soldiers are back.... But only one of them is breathing.”
“WHAT!? I should have known better to send simple assassins after him... No matter, what of the nightwing brothers?”
“We have dispatched scouts to follow their movements before we strike.”
“Good, I want them DEAD understand?”
“Yes master.”
