With a poof Rainbow Dash and Matt appeared on a cliff over looking Appaloosa.
“Ok so what’s the plan, and for that matter why are you even here.” Rainbow Dash asked of the human.
“Well the most logical place for a cult base here would be in a mine, and to answer your second question, it sounds like the satanic order wants to turn you. The good father trusts you, but the rest of the Vatican order would prefer feet on the ground for this. I will stay out of your way, but will step in if you turn, that’s why I have this harpoon loaded with enough tranquilizers to keep an elephant out for a year.” He answered after some thought.
“Oh, ok. Let’s go then.” Rainbow Dash said, a little taken aback, by the fact that the harpoon was for her. With a poof they were at the mining site.
“Ok that place there looks pretty abandoned.” Matt said pointing to the boarded up mine entrance.
They entered the mine in silence. Inside it was cool and rather damp. They found the shaft elevator, and when examined the button for level 26 was out lined in black.
“You think this is it?” Rainbow Dash asked nervously.
“Most likely. You go first then I will follow.” Matt responded.
The ride down was loud and slow. Upon reaching the destination the doors opened to reveal a rather creepy chamber with tapestries that looked ancient and large modern human computer displays. There were both ponies and humans here they stared at her. Then the one that appeared to be in charge spoke.
“Ah, you have come at last. When this world was first discovered I couldn’t dream how much it had to offer. Yet here you are master.” The elderly human said.
Deciding now as good a time as any to get information she put on a sinister smile and altered her voice a bit. “So then human, tell me what have you and your group accomplished here.”
“Yes master! We formed a chapter of the order on this world. We opened a portal to hell, and gave you your current body.” The man said, with a look of glee on his face.
Impressive, maybe I can have some use for these fools. The voice said.
“Well this is quite excellent-” she was saying when the elevator began to climb. She quickly realized that Matt must have called it back to join her.
“So it isn’t really you, you brought someone here to kill us didn’t you!” The old man caught on.
Bingo, kill them, all of them, NOW! The voice commanded. At the same time the cult followers were getting ready to fight readying guns, knives, and swords to fight with.
Rainbow sprung into action, her body reverting to the more demonic form it had taken on the first night, and she swept the room over with her fire breath. She released lightning from her horns striking all who were welding weapons at the time. The rest she dealt out brutal melee deaths, executions, gutting, disembodiment, cannibalization, the list goes on.
The elevator arrived and the doors slid open. “Oh, um looks like you got this then. So what did you learn?” Matt asked taken aback by the sight.
“Nothing we don’t know, accept that they opened a portal to hell.” Rainbow Dash explained sounding rather casual.
“Oh fuck! Where? Uh, computer!” The human said rapidly tried to make since of what he heard.
“Ok says here it’s in the Everfree forest.” He said. “Now let’s poof out of here. This changes everything!” With that said, a poof latter and they were gone.
There was a poof and they were back in the church, Father Montgomery and Twilight had been talking and suddenly looked up.
“Oh your back any good news?” Twilight asked happy to see her friend.
“No, they opened a portal to hell in the Everfree forest!” Matt said panic in his voice.
“Oh dear, Rainbow Dash you will have to deal with this on your own only demons can live in hell.” Twilight, myself, and Matt have something to do in the meantime, that will tie up any remaining lose ends.” The father said trying to formulate a plan.
“Ok, but what can I do about the portal.” Rainbow asked.
“Killing the lead demon of this world should cause it to start to close, you should be able to get out before it fully closes.” The father answered.
“Ok, night.” Rainbow Dash said as she walked towards the crypt, fighting cults takes a lot out of you.
“Wait, Skootaloo came by earlier. She wanted to know if we found anything. She seemed pretty broken up about you being gone, I just thought you should know.” Twilight said, then there was a poof and Rainbow was gone.
Skootaloo was sitting on her bed, why was Rainbow Dash gone, why her, why were there no answers, and why did it seem like there was no hope. She turned to her window, there was a rainbow light in the streets below, and with it a pare of red eyes. Then with a poof they were gone.
