Chapter 8: Insidious

The humans were firing on the Demons as they reached the surface, she knew she had to draw their fire away from the opening.

Rainbow Dash noticed that there was a massive vehicle that the humans had based their defense around. It had machine guns, artillery, and missile racks all over it, so it was rather obvious why they based their strategy around it.

Rainbow Dash swooped low, and one of the automated machine guns began firing at her. She swooped below the vehicle and breathed fire onto its rather weakly armored underside. Behind her she heard the death roar of a behemoth that tried to rush one of the human’s tanks. That however was soon drowned out by then a massive boom as apparently she had hit the fuel line.

The humans were in sudden disarray, as their command post erupted in to fire. However the humans didn’t give up a rapidly changed their strategy from defensive and well thought out, to aggressive, and savage.

Ah humans, how they are his chosen ones I will never know. For this is their true nature, this is how they fight. This is what they do when they believe they are going to lose. They fight savagely trying to force the enemy on the defense. The voice, which was notably louder, now said.

It was true; The humans were using offensive tactics for defense. Rainbow Dash watched as a jeep rammed a behemoth, as well as a few humans where rushing and actually punching and tackling demons that got in their way, which was suicide as demons have massive claws.

Rainbow Dash left the ground war to the demons she would be taking control of the flyers as they were being decimated by the human air force.

She flew up, then dived down smashing though a helicopter, she then leveled out and doused the other helicopters with fire.

An F-82 roared in at mach 8 and fired a barrage of missiles at her she shrugged them off and bucked the plane into tiny little shards of metal. The rest of the battle was over in a matter of minutes.

She landed and looked over her forces, she had a good 2 thousand, and even more still climbing the chasm. “Ok, It’s on to Ponyville now, and when we get there, there will be no survivors!” Rainbow Dash roared, to any pony watching, she was a completely different pony then what she was before.

Father Montgomery looked out a window of the church, another judgment class landing craft descended on Ponyville, which made three. Each one carried 8 companies of soldiers and the vehicles and air support to support them. No more APCs left for the forest, the U.C.o.E. was preparing the defense of the town.

“The U.C.o.E just enacted copper contingency protocols. They want everyone in the safe zone they set up. Shall we go?” Matt questioned as he approached.

“No I want to try to confront Rainbow Dash, and try to bring her back.” He informed.

“Alright then, guess I will need this then.” Matt said as he checked the load on his rail gun.

“Oh yes you will.” A familiar voice said as the door to the confession booth creaked open.

Rainbow Dash stepped out and glared at the humans before her.

“Rainbow Dash what have you done? Why are you doing this?” The priest asked in horror.

“Oh, I’ve seen the light, or rather the darkness!” She said, like a kid playing with her food before eating it.

“Sir get back this isn’t safe!” Matt said as he stepped in front of father Montgomery and leveled his rail gun at her head.

“You betrayed me, you called the U.C.o.E. and told them to kill me because you assumed I had turned!” She bellowed.

“Well were we wrong?” Matt asked, before he could take a shot he found himself gutted by her horns.

“Ahh! Urgh! God dam you to hell.” Matt grunted out before dying.

“I already am, and I’m loving every minute of it.” Rainbow Dash harshly replied to the corpse hanging from her horns.

“You’re a monster!” The priest exclaimed as his college was dropped to the floor.

“So?” Rainbow Dash said in a calm cold tone.

The conversation was cut short as a tank dropped from orbit smashed through the roof and into the center of the church.

It fired a hail of machine gun fire at Rainbow Dash, she simply raised her wings and they deflected the bullets. She was about to hit it with some fire of her own, when the main gun swiveled around and fired a round at her, her wings couldn’t stop that. She was blasted through the large front doors and landed unconscious in the field beyond.

“Hey are you stupid, command enacted copper contingency protocols ten minutes ago!” The gunner called out at him. “Get in we’ll take you to the safe zone.” The gunner said apparently he had scolded the priest enough.

Scootaloo was in tears. Her house on the edge of Ponyville, so it was one of the first hit. Her parents had died and her house was wreaked. She was in what was left of her bedroom.

She heard something in the hallway. Then one of the smaller creatures poked it’s head through and looked around. It noticed her cowering in a corner, and prepared to attack. Suddenly a light shone upon it and then there was a series of bangs, suddenly it was in pieces on the ground.

Scootaloo looked at the streets below to see what saved her. There was three soldiers, a hummer, a driver, and the gunner who had killed the demon.

Private Rodriguez, who had just barely survived first contact watched as a orange Pegasus filly with a purple mane looked out over a ruble pile and down at him.

“Hey we can take you to the safe zone, don’t worry we’re the good guys.” Rodriguez said to the filly.

It cautiously stepped down the ruble and to the street below.

Across the town peace was completely over turned as ponies fled, soldiers fought for every last inch of land, and demons rained hell on the unprepared. The town of Ponyville began to gain the likeness of Stalingrad as the forces of war unearthed man’s savage nature.
