Chapters Trixie was sitting in an armchair in Prince Blueblood’s lounge at the Canterlot castle, holding a newspaper in front of her face with her magic. With her were her two best(and by best, I mean only) friends, Prince Blueblood and Gilda the griffon. Blueblood was over at the bar, fixing himself a drink, and Gilda was lying on her back on a couch, tossing a tennis ball up into the air and bouncing it off the sealing to entertain herself.
These three ‘friends’ had been brought together by the two things they all had in common; their arrogant and selfish attitudes, and their mutual hatred for Ponyville, or more specifically, six specific mares who lived there. Trixie had met Gilda on the road and, after chatting with her for a bit, the two had become good friends. And then Trixie had met Prince Blueblood later while she was visiting Canterlot, and had become friends with him as well. After that, Gilda and Blueblood had become friends…ish through Trixie, although to say that the unicorn stallion and the griffon didn’t always get along would be a major understatement, what with one being a spoiled, snobbish, upper-class pony and the other being a short-tempered, bullying, delinquent ruffian. Needless to say, they butted heads more then Rarity and Applejack used to. Trixie mostly just ignored them when they got this way.
But despite all this, the three would still hang out with each other because, well, each of them were the only friends they had.
Trixie glared down at the newspaper angrily. On the cover, it showed a picture of the mane six being honored by Princess Celestia a few days after saving Canterlot from the Changeling attack. ‘ELEMENT BEARERS SAVE EQUESTRIA FOR THE THIRD TIME. ’ read the head line in large bold letters. Trixie growled angrily and crumpled up the newspaper into a little ball with her magic and threw it across the room in a rage.
“I HATE THEM!” she shouted at the top of her lungs, standing up on the chair as she did. Gilda and Blueblood looked over at her in surprise at her sudden outburst. “I HATE THEM! I HATE THEM! I HATE THEM! Everypony thinks they’re SOOOO great and SOOOO special just because they saved Equestria a few times. THEY’RE NOTHING SPECIAL! The only reason they were able to do it was because they used those six all-powerful pieces of jewelry to defeat the bad guys, and the third time it wasn’t even them! It was that Princess and her new husband that got rid of the changelings in the end! Those mares do nothing! It’s the elements that do all the work! Without those stupid pieces of jewelry, those six are no more impressive than anypony else!” Trixie sat back down in her chair, seething with anger.
After several seconds, Blueblood spoke. “You’re absolutely right, Trixie,” he said as he picked up his freshly made cocktail with his magic. “Those uncouth ruffians don’t deserve all that praise they’re getting. At least you girls have it easier than me. I have to put up with my aunts, my sister, and that new asshole of a husband of hers.” He took a sip from his glass and continued. “All I hear anymore is that I’m an embarrassment to the royal family. An embarrassment! Me! Prince Blueblood! That jarhead, Shining Armor, actually had the nerve to ask me where I was during the Changeling attack, saying things like that I was a coward for not staying and fighting. Well I certainly wasn’t the only one! I was joining pretty much all of the other ponies in Canterlot in doing the intelligent thing and trying to stay safe! Besides, he’s one to talk. He was busy being that nasty Changeling Queen’s love slave while his own fiancé was trying to save him!” Blueblood took a drink from his glass. “I hate that bastard so much.”
“Yeah, that must suck,” said Gilda like she didn’t care very much, still tossing the tennis ball into the air and catching it. “But you’re both right about those six lame-os from Ponyville. They’re a bunch of little goody two-shoes bitches, especially Rainbow Dash and,” she caught the tennis ball and suddenly crushed it with rage in her talon, “THAT PINKIE PIE!” she growled through gritted teeth. “Oh, what I wouldn’t give to just rip into that pink nightmare with my claws, just wrap my talons around her neck and squeeze the life out of her, just punch that stupid, stupid grin off of her stupid, stupid face.”
Trixie crossed her fore hooves in disgruntlement. “Why couldn’t it have been any other ponies in Equestria other than those six? Why them? I, the great and powerful Trixie, could save Equestia too if I just had the chance!”
Gilda let out a dry chuckle. “In order to do that, ya’d need some kind of super power like the Elements.”
Trixie slouched further in her chair… but then her expression changed and her eyes opened wide as something suddenly hit her.
“You’re right,” said Trixie. “So why don’t we get one?”
Gilda and Blueblood looked at her.
“Hu?” said Gilda in confusion.
Trixie suddenly jumped out of her chair and turned to her saddlebags lying on the counter. She opened one side up with her magic and pulled out an old book from within. She levitated it over onto the mahogany table in the lounge and began flipping through pages.
“Trixie, what are you doing?” asked Gilda as she and Blueblood started coming over to her.
“Why didn’t I think of this before?” Trixie said to herself, ignoring her friend’s question. She felt Gilda and Blueblood’s presence on either side of her. “You’ve just given me a great idea, Gilda. I remember reading about something in this book I acquired recently.”
“Egg head,” she heard Gilda mutter under her breath. Trixie ignored her.
“Here it is!” she said as she found the right page. “This tells about a potion that can give the drinker unlimited power. It’s called the Witchweed Potion. Apparently, a long time ago, some feline named Katrina used this potion and it turned her from a weak little kitten into a powerful dark Queen. If we could make this potion our selves and drink it, we would gain incredible power too.”
“And then we beat the crap out of Stinky Pie and the rest of them?” asked Gilda with a smirk.
“No!” said Trixie. “Although that would be satisfying. We use the potion’s power to save Equestia from some disaster and show everypony that we can be heroes too, and then finally get the respect and admiration we deserve,” then she grinned darkly, “as well as steal the spotlight away from those six losers forever.”
“I would definitely like that,” said Blueblood as he and Gilda grinned. “So how do we make the potion?”
Trixie frowned. “It isn’t going to be easy. The directions aren’t all here. I’ll have to do some research. Also, this is pretty dark magic. Even attempting to mess around with this could get us thrown into a dungeon for the rest of our lives if we get caught.”
“I’m willing to risk it,” said Gilda.
Blueblood looked a little unsure, but he nodded.
“Also,” continued Trixie, “we’re going to need the key ingredient Witchweed. Apparently, it only grows in one place. What is now the Everfree Forest.”
Blueblood took a step backwards. “No! No way! I’m not going anywhere near that accursed place. Forget it! Do you have any idea what kind of things live there?”
Gilda grabbed him by his neck collar. “Come on, you nancy! Do you want to prove your sister and that Shining Armor guy wrong, or not? Now grow a pair!”
Blueblood swallowed, thought for a moment, and then nodded. “Alright. I’m in.”
“So am I,” said Gilda.
Trixie grinned. “Great! Let’s get prepared to go find some Witchweed! Blueblood, we’ll need you to book our trip!”
Blueblood sighed. “Of course,” he muttered. He had long since gotten used to the girls taking advantage of his money. It was either that, or Gilda hurting him.
The next day, after traveling in secret too Ponyville by train, Trixie, Gilda, and Blueblood were now wandering through the Everfree Forest. Fortunately, it was daytime, so it was less dangerous and scary now then it was at night, but not by a lot. Furthermore, it would be easier to find the Witchweed during the daylight than it would be at night.
“Girls, let’s turn back,” said Blueblood, who was wearing a set of golden colored armor. “There is absolutely no shame in giving up.”
Trixie and Gilda glanced back at Blueblood behind them and rolled their eyes. Blueblood hadn’t stopped whimpering at every little sound since the moment they had entered the forest.
“Blueblood, we’ve only been in the forest for a few minutes,” said Gilda. “And unlike you, Trixie and I aren’t even wearing any armor. You don’t see us being wusses.”
“Where did you get that armor, anyway?” asked Trixie. Although she wasn’t wearing any armor, she was wearing her trademark purple cape and hat.
Blueblood suddenly held his head high. “It’s my ceremonial armor,” he said proudly. “I am a prince after all.”
“Some prince,” muttered Gilda loud enough for Blueblood to hear her. “You’re afraid of your own shadow.”
“I am not!” stated Blueblood. “Besides, my shadow is without a doubt the most handsome shadow in Equestria.” He looked down at his shadow on the ground with a grin, nodding in approval of how great he thought his shadow looked.
Gilda groaned.
“You’re shadow may be the most handsome,” said Trixie from the front of the group, “but Trixie’s shadow is the greatest and most powerful shadow in all of Equestria!” Then she added, “As well as the most beautiful.”
“Oh, not you too!” groaned Gilda again, even louder. “That’s it. I’m going top side to keep a look out around us, as well as get away from you two for a while.” With a few flaps of her wings, Gilda took off into the air.
Trixie and Blueblood continued onward on the ground, with Gilda now keeping an eye on things from up above.
..................................................
After a while of unsuccessful searching later, Gilda’s attitude was only souring more. She had been flying up above the treetops, staring down at the ground below her. She had successfully diverted Trixie and Blueblood away from a pack of timber wolves, as well as what had appeared to be a gay sea serpent in a river. But now she was starting to get bored.
Finally, Gilda had had enough and flew down to the two unicorns.
“Alright, Trixie, it’s been like three hours and we haven’t found one single bit of Witchweed,” said Gilda as she touched down on the ground. “I’m starting to think this whole idea was stupid.”
“Gilda, it’s been only one hour!” said Trixie in annoyance. “It’s bad enough Blueblood keeps whining that he wants to go back.”
“I am NOT whining!” stated Blueblood angrily. “I am complaining. Do you want to hear whining?”
“NO!” Trixie and Gilda shouted together in horror.
Blueblood stuck up his nose. “All I’m saying is this forest is too dangerous.”
“Oh, please,” said Gilda. “From what I’ve seen in the air, this forest ain’t so scary. The scariest thing you’re bound to run into in this forest, Blueblood, is me.”
Gilda walked ahead of Trixie and Blueblood too a wall of hanging foliage, and slashed it down with her claws, only to reveal a giant dragon lying before them.
Trixie and Blueblood leaped backwards in fright at the sight of the giant, fire breathing beast resting in their path, but Gilda remained calm.
“Relax, it’s dead,” Gilda said, pointing up at a large wound on the dragons ribcage where flies were buzzing around.
Trixie and Blueblood let out a sigh of relief.
Just then they heard a low growl coming from behind the dead creature. A split second later, four giant reptilian heads popped up from behind the dead dragon, each ones' mouth covered in blood from where it had been feeding on the dragon’s carcass.
Trixie Blueblood, and Gilda stared up in horror at the giant hydra.
“Okay, no pony move a muscle,” whispered Gilda.
All four of the hydra’s heads roared down at them. Trixie and Blueblood screamed and galloped away as fast as they could through the forest.
“Son of a…” Gilda muttered as she saw her two unicorn companions running away, and then flew off after them. The hydra stepped over it’s kill in pursuit of them.
“OH, I DIDN’T WANT TO DIE LIKE THIS!” cried Blueblood.
“JUST SHUT UP AND MOVE IT! yelled Trixie.
The hydra continued chasing the three companions through the forest. No matter which way they ran, the hydra was always right on their tails. They tried splitting up, but each head went after a different one of them, keeping them from getting too far away. Gilda attempted to fly away a few times, but each time she flew above the tree tops it left her wide open for one of the hydra’s heads. So she had to stay below the trees, which didn’t make flying easy.
The two ponies and griffon were tiring quickly, but the hydra didn’t seem to be tiring at all. They didn’t know how long they would be able to keep ahead of it. Not that it mattered because at that moment, they came to a cliff.
“GAH!” Blueblood cried out as he almost fell over the edge, but he stopped himself just in time.
The three of them quickly saw a set of stepping-stone pillars leading from one side of the chasm to the other. If they could just get to the other side, they’d be safe, but the first stepping stone was too far away for them to jump too.
They heard the hydra roar right behind them. It was now or never.
Gilda quickly grabbed Trixie and flew her across the chasm to the safety of the other side.
“HEY, WHAT ABOUT ME!” shouted Blueblood, but it was too late. Blueblood looked back at the hydra as it roared and lunged all four of its heads at him at once. Blueblood gulped and, in a moment of desperation, leaped for the first stepping-stone pillar, just as the first hydra’s head chomped down on where he had just been, getting nothing but dirt and rocks in its mouth.
Blueblood felt the air rushing past him as he fell screaming into the chasm, having missed the pillar by a mile. He fell and landed with a splash in the thick smelly muck of the bog down below.
The hydra, with it’s prey now out of its reach, disappointedly turned and stomped away back to its meal it was eating before. On the other side of the chasm, Trixie and Gilda stared down over the edge of the cliff at the bog down below, trying to see any signs of the prince.
“Yo, Blueblood!” shouted Gilda. “Y’all right?”
Down below, they saw something crawling out swamp onto a relatively dry patch of land, and knew it was the prince.
“Yeah, he’s alright,” said Gilda with an amused grin. Gilda picked up Trixie and they flew down into the chasm to where a slime covered Blueblood was lying on the small patch of land, spitting the bog muck out of his mouth and trying to catch his breath. He was literally covered from head to tail in mud and slime. Not even a single golden part of his armor was visible through the filth as the two girls landed next to him.
Blueblood wiped the mud from his eyes and looked up at Gilda in anger. “BITCH!” he shouted at her. “I ALMOST DIED BECAUSE OF YOU! NOW LOOK AT ME, I’M FILTHY AND DISGUSTING! THIS IS GOING TO TAKE FOREVER TO WASH OUT OF MY COAT!”
Gilda started laughing hysterically at the prince’s state, finding his misfortune utterly hilarious. Her laughing was cut short as she suddenly felt something wet and slimy make contact with her face, and the inside of her mouth. Gilda spat out the disgusting muck in her mouth and she realized that Blueblood had thrown a wad of the bog slime at her while she had been laughing. Now he had pissed her off.
The griffon growled in rage at Blueblood, getting right in his face. Blueblood growled back at her. He was in no mood to show any mercy anymore.
Trixie rolled her eyes and took a step back from the two hotheads, wanting to avoid any stray shots between them. That’s when she noticed something about where they were.
“Hey love birds,” Trixie shouted over at Blueblood and Gilda, to which they both turned and stared at Trixie in appall.
“What did you just say?!” they both shouted at her in anger.
Trixie smirked. “I thought that would get your attention. Anyway, if you two weren’t so busy fighting; you’d notice what we’re surrounded in.”
Blueblood and Gilda took a few glances around them.
“What? All I see are plants!” said Gilda.
“Exactly!” said Trixie. “It’s the Witchweed!” She pulled out a piece of paper from her saddlebags with her magic and held it up for them to look at. On it was a picture of the Witchweed, along with a description. Sure enough, the dark green plant in the picture matched the plants they were currently standing among.
“You mean we found it?” exclaimed Blueblood with hope.
“We found it!” said Trixie triumphantly. “Let’s grab as much of it as we can and get the hay out of here.”
...................................................
As soon as they packed as much of the Witchweed as they could fit into their saddlebags, the three companions got out of the chasm, courtesy of Gilda’s wings, and made their way out of the Everfree forest as fast as they could and headed back to Canterlot.
After Blueblood had finished taking a seven hour bubble bath when they arrived back at the castle, he, Gilda and Trixie began focusing on their next agenda.
“Okay, now that we have the Witchweed, all we need is somewhere private to brew it so we won’t get caught,” Trixie explained to them in the privacy of Blueblood’s room.
“Why can’t you simply brew it at you’re place?” asked Blueblood.
“Because our landlord would probably discover it,” said Gilda. She and Trixie shared an apartment.
“Well, there are guards, and servants all over the place in the castle,” said Blueblood. “So we can’t have it here.” He thought for a moment. “Wait! I think I might know a place. Follow me.”
Leaving Blueblood’s room, Blueblood lead them through the castle, and, much to Trixie and Gilda’s surprise, down into the dungeons.
“Cadence and I used to play ‘hide and seek’ down here back when we were foals,” said Blueblood as he led them through the dark passages. “We weren’t supposed to, as our parent’s forbade us from ever going down here, but we just couldn’t resist. Hardly anypony ever comes down here anymore, so we never got caught. Anyway, while I was down here one day, I found this room.”
Blueblood turned to a wooden door on the wall that they suddenly came to and pulled it open with his magic. Inside, it was pitch black. Trixie and Blueblood lit up their horns with blue and violet glows, illuminating the room.
The room was large and filthy, with cobwebs hanging around everywhere. The room was full of nothing but large crates and boxes and hings covered in sheets. Everything had about two inches of dust on it.
“This is an ancient storage room that I guess everypony just forgot about,” said Blueblood. “I have no idea what any of this stuff is in here, but its obvious that nopony ever comes down here.”
“It’s perfect,” said Trixie excitedly. “This is a perfect place to brew the potion. It will be completely secret and safe down here.”
“I gotta hand it to ya, Blueblood,” said Gilda. “You were finally useful for something.”
Blueblood gave her a glare and then stuck up his nose. “I’m glad you like it,” he said. “Now can we please get out of here for now? This place is horribly filthy, and I just spent several hours getting myself clean.”
Nothing Can Stop The Smooze!
A few months passed, and Trixie finished brewing the Witchweed potion in the secrecy of the dungeon storage room. It appeared to be a small amount, but Trixie assured Gilda and Blueblood that it would be enough for all three of them. Now all they had to do was wait for a day when Equestria would need saving. Fortunately for them, since they lived in Equestria, they didn’t have to wait too long.

“La la la la la la ,” sang Fluttershy as she fed her animals one beautiful and sunny morning. She was currently digging up some earthworms out of the ground to feed to the birds in the trees.
‘You know, it’s kind of ironic, ’ thought Fluttershy to herself as she dug in the ground with her hoof. ‘If worms are animals too, then I’m hurting one animal to help another animal. Is that wrong? ’
Her train of thought was interrupted, however, as suddenly her pet bunny, Angel, came running up to her. He stopped in front of Fluttershy and began waving his arms frantically.
“What is it, Angel?” Fluttershy asked. She could tell the white bunny was trying to tell her something important. “Is there a carrot stuck in your throat?”
The bunny shook his head.
“Are you sick?”
The bunny shook his head again.
“Did little Pipsqueak fall down the well again?”
Finally the bunny had had enough and grabbed Fluttershy’s head and pointed it towards the horizon. There, Fluttershy saw something vast and purple approaching over the horizon, with what appeared to be eyeballs all over it.
“Is it the giant sea of purple goo that’s getting ever closer?” asked Fluttershy.
Suddenly, Fluttershy felt something hit her in the head, and looked back at Angel to find that he had thrown a carrot at her.
“I’ll take that as a… yes.”

Meanwhile, in Canterlot, Trixie was in her apartment, brushing her teeth, when she glanced out the window and caught a glimpse of something purple and moving. She hurried over to the window and looked out. She dropped her toothbrush out of her magic aura at what she saw. A large, purple, eye covered blob moving over the landscape in the distance. It was heading straight towards Canterlot, and was about to completely cover Ponyville as well.
Trixie grinned to herself. “It’s time, ” she thought. She ran back into the bathroom and spat the toothpaste out of her mouth. Then she hurried off to find Gilda and Blueblood.
...................................................
Emergency sirens could be heard all over Canterlot as Princess Celestia stood on a balcony overlooking Canterlot. Beside her was her sister, Princess Luna, and her distant niece, Princess Cadence. They looked out in the distance at the giant purple mass approaching them.
Two hours had passed since they had become aware of this impending threat, and they had been very busy. Since Ponyville was obviously going to be the first town to be hit, it had been evacuated immediately. It had been close, but they had managed to get the small town evacuated in time, but the whole town of Ponyville had been covered by the purple ocean of goo.
Shining Armor and two other guards came trotting up to the princesses. “Your majesties, we’ve tried everything we could, but nothing can stop it!” stated Shining Armor. “Even my shield spell failed against it.”
Celestia nodded. “Thank you, Captain. Focus on the evacuation. Get all the civilian ponies out of the city.
“Yes, your majesty,” said Shining Armor. He nodded to the two guards behind him, and they ran off to fallow the orders.
Shining Armor walked up and nuzzled his wife, Princess Cadence.
“Are you alright, Cadence?” he asked.
“I’m fine, Shining,” she said. “Worry about the civilian ponies.”
Suddenly they all heard a familiar voice, and it brought a smile to all their faces.
“Princess Celestia!” Twilight Sparkle shouted as she and her five friends, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, as well as Spike the baby dragon on her back, came running over. “We came as fast as we could.”
“Thank you, Twilight,” said Celestia. “Thank you all.”
“Thank goodness you’re safe,” Shining Armor said to her, he and Cadence running up and nuzzling her.
“We’re all fine. Ponyville was completely evacuated in time,” the purple unicorn said.
“What is that horrible thing?” asked Rarity.
“And where in tarnation did it come from?” added Applejack.
Celestia held up her hoof. “I have no idea where it came from, but I do know that it is an ancient evil that once threatened Equestria many ages ago. It is called… The Smooze.”
The six mares and dragon from Ponyville all gasped. Then Pinkie Pie frowned in confusion.
“Smooze? That’s an odd name for a monster. It sounds like baby shampoo.”
Ignoring Pinkie’s comment, Luna spoke up. “You see, if we don’t stop the Smooze, it will eventually cover the entire world.”
“We don’t have long before the Smooze reaches Canterlot,” said Celestia. “Twilight, I need you and your friends to once again wield the Elements of Harmony. I believe they could be our only hope of stopping this monster.”
“Don’t worry, Princess,” said Twilight with confidence in her voice. “You can count on us.”
Celestia nodded. “Hurry, my little ponies. Time is short."
The six mares and the Princess of the Sun hurried off back into the castle to retrieve the Elements of Harmony from the vault, leaving Spike with the two other princesses and Shining Armor on the balcony.
...................................................
Down in the dungeons of the castle, lit candles illuminated Trixie, Gilda, and Blueblood as they stood together in the secret storage room, which, over the weeks, they had cleaned up a bit and turned into a makeshift lab. Trixie levitated a small bottle filled with dark green liquid in between the three of them. She then carefully poured the contents of the bottle into three little cups.
“This is it!?” exclaimed Gilda in disappointment. “All that Witchweed we gathered, and we only got this much potion?!”
Trixie rolled her eyes and sighed in annoyance. “Relax,” she said. “It doesn’t take much of this potion to get great power. This, right here, is more than enough for all three of us… for now, anyway.”
Gilda snorted in skepticism as she took one of the cups, but didn’t say anything.
They all looked down at the green potion the were about to drink.
“Okay, lets all drink it at the same time,” said Trixie. “One… Two… Three.”
The three of them brought their cup to their mouths and drank the potion down.
The result was almost instantaneous. A magical aura surrounded each of their bodies and their eyes began to glow bright white as they were suddenly lifted into mid air. They could all feel a new, intense power flowing through them, the likes of which none of them could have ever imagined. And they liked it.
“I’ve never felt such power!” exclaimed Trixie in amazement.
“This feels great!” said Gilda. “I feel so powerful!”
“I feel like I can do anything!” cried Blueblood excitedly.
The aura around them faded, and they all descended back down to the floor. They blinked their eyes once, and the light glow faded, but they could all still feel the new power within them, rushing through their veins. They felt invincible. They felt ready to tackle anything.
Gilda grabbed one of the large old crates in the room and easily lifted it over her head with one talon, as if it was as light as a feather. She than through it at the stone wall of the store room, shattering the crate into splinters.
“Oh, yeah!” she exclaimed.
Trixie closed her eyes and her horn flared with magic. In an instant, she disappeared in a flash of light, and on the other side of the room, in another flash of light, she reappeared.
“I’ve always wanted to teleport!” she exclaimed excitedly. Trixie teleported again, and again, and again, all over the room, laughing joyfully as she enjoyed being able to finally do it. “I can’t believe how easy the magic comes now!”
Seeing Trixie doing it, Blueblood attempted to teleport as well. Just like Trixie, his horn glowed brightly, and in a flash of light, he teleported across the room as easily as Trixie had. He laughed.
“This is incredible!” he said, teleporting again to another part of the room.
Gilda destroyed another crate by smashing it with a swipe of one of her talons. Then she frowned. “Wait, you guys!” Trixie and Blueblood stopped using their magic and looked at her. “Aren’t we supposed to be doing something important?”
They all stood and though for a couple seconds, then they all shouted at the same time, “OH, RIGHT! WE HAVE TO SAVE EQUESTRIA!”
Gilda and Blueblood began to move towards the door, but Trixie spoke. “Wait!” she said. “Let’s teleport there. It will be faster.”
Gilda and Blueblood nodded in agreement. Gilda got close to Trixie, and Trixie and Blueblood both flared their horns, concentrating on where they wanted to be. Then, in a flash of light, the three of them teleported out of the room.
The shield that Shining Armor and Cadence had worked together to create moments ago shattered under the bombardment of the Smooze. Princess Luna, Cadence, Shining Armor, and Spike groaned in despair. Their last line of defense before Canterlot had failed, and the Smooze was now right at their doorstep.
“Don’t worry! We’re ready!” shouted Twilight, as she and her friends trotted back onto the balcony, followed by Princess Celestia. The six bearers were all wearing the Elements of Harmony around their necks, except for Twilight, who’s was a crown that she wore atop her head.
“Hurry!” shouted Cadence. “The Smooze is about to reach us!”
Indeed, the Smooze had already reached the base of the mountain that Canterlot was on, and it was rapidly rising up towards them. The many evil eyes of the monstrosity stared up at the city hungrily as giant purple mouths and hands reached up out of it towards it’s target.
Twilight looked at her friends. “Alright, girls. It’s now or never.”
The six mares nodded, and stepped forward to the front of the balcony.
“Let’s show that blob the power of friendship!” said Rainbow Dash with a determined look on her face.
They all closed their eyes, and prepared to activate the Elements.
Suddenly, there was a loud sound like a burst of magical energy. They all looked up and saw a beam of magical energy shoot up into the sky above the city. In an instant, it formed a magical bubble shield around the entire city.
“Wait. Who’s doing that?” asked Twilight.
They all looked at each other, but it was apparent from the look of confusion on everypony’s face that none of them, not even the Princesses of the day and night, knew what was going on.
Suddenly, Pinkie Pie shouted, “Look! Down there!” She pointed with her hoof. They all looked where she was pointing and spotted two ponies standing just outside of Canterlot, outside of the shield bubble, on the edge of the cliff next to the waterfall. They were apparently both unicorn ponies, as they had their horns crossed with each others, combining their magic to create the magical shield surrounding the city. One was dressed in golden clad armor, and the other wore a purple sorcerer's hat and cape.
“Who are they?” asked Applejack.
As they kept staring at the two unknown unicorns, they could see that the white one in the armor was a stallion with a blond mane and tail, and the blue one with the cape and hat was a mare with a silvery-white mane and tail.
At that moment, Princess Cadence was the first to realize who they were.
“IT’S MY BROTHER!” Cadence shouted in shock.
“Blueblood!?” exclaimed Shining.
“NEPHEW!?” exclaimed Celestia and Luna at the same time, both in surprise and worry.
Cadence nodded. “… And that one friend of his, Trixie Lulamoon!”
“TRIXIE!?” Twilight and her friends shouted in amazement.
Cadence and Shining looked at them in surprise. “You know her?” Cadence asked.
Rarity snorted. “Let’s just say we’ve met,” the purple maned unicorn said with disdain in her voice.
At that moment, the Smooze smashed itself against the shield bubble. Shining Armor expected it to break like all of his had against it. Yet, to his surprise, it held strong. The Smooze continued to slam itself against the magical barrier surrounding the city, but this new shield did not waver one bit.
“I… I don’t believe it!” stuttered Shining Armor. He stared back down at his brother-in-law and Trixie. “Their shield is working against it!”
“But how?” exclaimed Cadence. “My brother has never been this good at magic! He hardly ever practiced with it, let alone performed feats like this!”
“Trixie isn’t supposed to be this good either,” said Twilight to her older brother and sister-in-law. “Back when we first met her, she bragged about what a skilled magician she was, but we later found out she was just making it all up.”
As the Smooze kept trying, unsuccessfully, to breach the shield, there was suddenly a flash of many colors up in the sky, like a circular rainbow going out in all directions. From the center of it, going at supersonic speed, a brown streak came shooting down towards the sea of Smooze.
“A… A Sonic Rainboom!?” Rainbow Dash stuttered as she looked up at this new sight. “But I’m the only one who can do that!”
“Apparently not,” said Applejack next to her.
Rainbow Dash growled. “Who is that?” she demanded, wanting to know who this new fast flyer was.
The brown streak began circling around over the sea of Smooze, still flying at supersonic speed. As it flew around and around in a circle, the wind began to pick up, and the clouds overhead began to spin.
“They’re creating a tornado!” said Twilight. Then she got it. “They’re trying to suck up the Smooze!”
“Who ever it is, they’ll never be able to create a strong enough one to defeat that thing all on their own,” said Dash.
As who ever it was kept flying, a tornado began to form over the Smooze. It started out as a small funnel cloud, but it rapidly grew stronger and stronger as the brown streak flew around at amazing speeds. Soon, a full-blown T11 class tornado was raging right beside the mountain that Canterlot was on, and it was still growing stronger.
Rainbow Dash and the others were wide eyed, as they couldn’t believe what they were seeing. This one single Pegasus had managed to create one of the most powerful tornadoes they had ever seen all on his or her own! As far as they all knew, that was impossible. They were all glad that they were protected from the harsh winds by the shield bubble around the city.
Over the sound of the raging winds, they could just hear the sound of a deep bellowing roar as the Smooze began to get sucked up into the massive twister. The purple mass struggled to resist, attempting to slide away from the storm, but it was to no avail. The tornado began to turn purple in color as the powerful suction of the cyclone pulled the sea of purple liquid into it’s rapture, bit by bit, draining it all up off of the land, slowly uncovering all that it had immersed beneath it. After a few minutes, the entire ocean of Smooze had been sucked into the tornado, and was now trapped in the gigantic vortex.
Down on the cliff outside of Canterlot, Trixie and Blueblood connected their horns again and shot a beam of magical energy at the tornado. The beam began to create yet another bubble shield, this time around the Smooze tornado. The brown streak flew out of the twister to safety as the shield bubble completely entrapped the tornado. The brown streak then slowed to a stop in mid air, and it was then that Twilight and her friends could all see that it was not a Pegasus, like they had thought, but a griffon. And not just any griffon, but a griffon that Rainbow Dash recognized immediately.
“GILDA!” Dash shouted in disbelief. Everypony looked at her.
“You know her too?” asked Shining.
Before Rainbow could answer, Pinkie Pie spoke. “She used to be Rainbow Dash’s friend, but then we all found out that Gilda was really a big meany, so now they’re not friends anymore.”
“How do you know Gilda?” Twilight asked Shining.
“She’s been spending time with Blueblood and Trixie. We’ve seen them getting together sometimes to…, I don’t know, bitch and complain about things they don’t like, I guess.”
“We mostly just ignore the three of them,” said Cadence.
With a flash of bright light, the shield bubble surrounding the city vanished, and the bubble around the Smooze tornado began to shrink, growing smaller and smaller, trying to squeeze the Smooze down. Finally, the bubble reached as small as it could become with the Smooze trapped inside it. It was a giant purple ball floating just beside the Canterlot Mountain.
Gilda then flew down underneath the giant floating purple ball and began pushing up on it, flapping her wings as hard as she could. At the same time, down next to the waterfall, Trixie and Blueblood flared their horns with magic, apparently pumping everything they had in them into this next spell. Just then, the giant Smooze ball began to ascend, slowly up towards the sky. Its speed increasing little by little as it went.
One by one, everypony watching began to suspect what they were doing.
“No way,” said Spike.
They watched as Trixie, Blueblood, and Gilda, combined their magic and muscle, and threw the gigantic ball of goo up into the sky, launching it into space. There, it sailed harmlessly into Celestia’s sun.
The six Elements of Harmony fell, unused, from their bearers to the ground with a loud clatter. No pony noticed this as all of them continued staring at what they had just seen with their own eyes, their lower jaws all hitting the ground.
“That’s…” began Shining Armor.
“Im…” said Rainbow Dash.
“Possible!” finished Twilight.
At that moment they began to hear the sound of cheers coming from different places in Canterlot, as ponies, royal guards and civilians who hadn’t been evacuated in time and were still in the city, began coming out in celebration, having also witnessed what had just happened.
...
Trixie and Blueblood teleported themselves inside the city walls and Gilda flew down and landed next to them just as dozens of Canterlot ponies began to surround them, shouting words of praise and gratitude.
Trixie, Blueblood, and Gilda stood there smugly, taking it all in.
Gilda looked over at her too friends and spoke to them over the sound of the roaring crowd. “Best. Plan. Ever,” she said with a grin.
Trixie smirked back at her. “Was there ever any doubt?”
...
Up above on the balcony, the six Element Bearers, Spike, Shining Armor, and the three Alicorn princesses, all looked down at the new heroes as they enjoyed all the attention they were getting.
“I had no idea our nephew and his friends could be so heroic,” Luna said to her older sister in amazement.
Celestia narrowed her eyes as she stared at her nephew and his two friends. “Neither did I,” she said with suspicion in her voice.
