The Egg-Pegasus!/The New Speed!

Chapter 10

Sonic was determined to catch up to Eggman before he brings the fight into royal territory! Even though he never met this so called “Princess Celestia”, he had to save her! “Eggman!” Sonic yelled to get his attention. “Hmm? How’d you get here so quickly? No matter. Your world-saving career ends here! Allow me to introduce you to my latest invention: The EGG-PEGASUS!” Suddenly one of the egg fleet ships dropped a giant robotic red and black Pegasus which then switched into auto-pilot to avoid crashing to the ground by switching to rocket boosters at its sides acting as the wings. Suddenly Rainbow Dash caught up and was shocked to find the 19 ft. Egg-Pegasus hovering next to Eggman. “Is t-t-that that…” she uttered.

(BOSS: EGG-PEGASUS) Eggman’s mobile positioned itself into the cockpit on the robots’ forehead and then the Egg-Pegasus “neighed” to life! Sonic would stop at nothing to stop Eggman and save Princess Celestia and Equestria. “Let’s do this!” Sonic exclaimed ready to take the robot down. The robot was the first to attack by charging at Sonic with a wing attack. Sonic jumped it and managed to land on the wing! Instantly he did a series of homing attacks to the cockpit. It was about to give way when Sonic was ambushed by a missile launched from the wings. Sonic was about to hit the ground when Rainbow Dash caught him! “Way to go RD! Now, time to scramble some Eggman!” Sonic said while he positioned himself. “Roger!” Rainbow replied as they flew back up to the cockpit. “GRRR! Oh Yeah? Take THIS!” Eggman shouted as the Egg-Pegasus readied itself. Suddenly, Sonic jumped from Rainbow Dash’s back into the air!

Meanwhile back on the ground, Tails, Twilight, and the whole group arrived on scene to see the blue blur high above the clouds. Sonic then flipped and unleashed a massive stomp attack! Coming down fast, everyone could see Sonic’s shoes were trailing with a blue comet-like tail. And in one single impact on the cockpit, the Egg-Pegasus burst into flames setting off a massive explosion! Once again, Sonic did it. Everyone on the ground including Rainbow Dash, and except Tails, stared slack-jaw. Sonic emerged from the wreckage unscathed. “(Yawn) is that it? Oh Well!” Sonic acted. Tails and the group ran to congratulate him. “Oh Sonic that was absolutely amazing! I never knew stomping in mid-air was possible! Well for those who don’t have wings.” Fluttershy said. “Well it’s possible if you had experiences in the air a lot of times. That’s not all I can do!” Sonic replied. “Oh is that so? Then you must simply show us Sonic!” Rarity said in the mood for another one of Sonic’s stylish moves. “Actually we’re kind of busy right now so maybe later.” Sonic said. Besides, he didn’t have anything to practice on. “Wow Sonic! You did it again. How many times do you do this sort of thing anyway?” Twilight asked. “Hmmm… I’d say 20! And what a coincidence! I’m 20 years old!” He answered. “Also what famous adventures have you been on?” Twilight asked. “Well let’s see, I saved the world from being flooded by a giant monster made of water, saved the world by a giant prototype lizard pulling a space colony threatening to crash into earth, saved the world from being ruled by a robotic version of me, saved 2 storybook worlds from being destroyed, put the whole planet back together like a giant jigsaw puzzle, freed a race of aliens from an evil interstellar amusement park, and teamed up with a younger me while fixing the timeline! Oh who am I kidding! I could write a whole book with what I’ve been through!” Sonic had way more to name but let’s not go there! “Actually you should! Twilight reads books like it’s her job or something! If you think that’s embarrassing, you should see her before bed! She’s surrounded by an avalanche of books!” Spike said. “Spike!” Twilight exclaimed embarrassed. Sonic and Tails tried hard not to laugh! “Isn’t that a lot of hard work? Well you know, saving the world so many times?” asked Pinkie Pie. “Well it can be a handful but since speed is on my side, I could probably do it in my sleep!” Sonic answered. “Now let’s put this aside and get back to the real reason why we’re out here.” “Speaking of which.” Twilight said. Suddenly Eggman emerged from the wreckage looking like the last time. “How is it that you beat me so fast?! You know what, forget this! Besides I have all the energy for what I need. Enjoy your last moments ponies!!” Eggman said as he got back into the mobile and took off. “Oh my goodness! He has everything he needs! What are we gonna do?!” Fluttershy squeaked. “Tails where’s he heading now?” Sonic asked desperately Tails checked his device and read it. “it says he’s heading to the Everfree Forest!” Tails said. “Twilight! What’s the fastest way?” Sonic asked as he got ready to run. But Twilight was busy doing a spell. “TWILIGHT!” Sonic shouted. “What?” She yelled startled. “What’s the fastest way to Everfree?” Sonic asked again. “Well, if I can remember, the fastest way is to cut through gallop cove, then Appleloosa, and finally the capital city of Canterlot.” Twilight explained. Then without another word Sonic and Rainbow took off! “C’mon everypony! We have to catch up to them!” Twilight said. “Uh listen sugarcube, maybe all those books are starting to get to you but, we can’t run THAT fast!” Applejack interjected. “Applejack’s right Twilight! I can fly fast but not as fast as Sonic!” Tails added. “Actually I remembered a spell that can let anypony run at the speed of sound!  And I just did it. So test it out!” Twilight exclaimed. Fluttershy started running and suddenly went faster than she would normally do! Twilights’ spell worked! But then everyone found out it worked a little TOO well when Fluttershy didn’t stop upon reaching the water! She took a deep breath, ready to take a very wet plunge, when she looked and could still see everything clearly. She then looked down to see her hooves above the surface! She felt graceful and enjoyed every second of it. She learned how to steer, take tight turns, and even manage Sonics’ Boost!! “I-I-I can’t believe it! I’m running like Sonic! This feels like a dream! I’m running ON water!” Fluttershy thought. Unfortunately, she then learned how to stop! Since she was going OVER 1000 mph, the water suddenly felt more like the ground! She face-planted the water then the pushing force flipped her and ended going under head-first!  Everyone on the shore winced to block out Fluttershy’s wipe-out. Seconds later she surfaced. Fluttershy began spitting out seawater and took in air. “You ok there sugarcube?” yelled Applejack from the shoreline. “I’m ok! But I think I might need help getting back!” responded a minor injured Fluttershy. Upon hearing her, Tails flew off to airlift Fluttershy back to shore.

Meanwhile…

Sonic and Rainbow Dash were moving as fast as they could in a race against time to stop Eggman before he can take over. Suddenly they both went slack-jaw! Twilight and the group managed to catch up to Rainbow Dash and Sonic! “TWILIGHT?!?!?!” They both exclaimed in extreme shock. “Let me guess, Magic spell?” Rainbow Dash said. Twilight nodded. “And it’s not just me!” Twilight added as Tails and the others appeared at Sonic’s side. “Alright! Way to go Twilight! Now let’s show Eggman the real power of teamwork!” He exclaimed. But just as he was about to go full speed, the ground shook! “EARTHQUAKE!” yelled Spike. Suddenly everyone knew it wasn’t an earthquake when Sonic pointed to the sky. “Is that what I think it is?!”
