The Story of Starlight

Chapter 3

"Starlight um could you wake up please" Asks Fluttershy.

Starlight pulls the blankets over her head.

"Five more minutes mommy" Says Starlight groaning.

"Oh um Starlight your mommy isn't here." Says Fluttershy

Starlight sits up and yawns while stretching.

"Where is she then?" Starlight asks.

"Oh shes um well follow me." Says Fluttershy.

Fluttershy leads Starlight through the castle and out to the royal garden where Celestia is waiting.

"Its about time the baby got up. Thank you Fluttershy you can go now" says Celestia.

Starlight watches as Fluttershy flies off. When shes out of her sight Starlight looks toward Celestia who is clearly waiting for something. Starlight looks around and suddenly realizes that the diaper she put on last night was still on. She untapes diaper  and it falls the ground with a loud thud. Celestia levitates a wash clothe over to her daughter. She watches as the foal cleans her flank, after she is finished Celestia clears her throat and walks up to Starlight.

"Now then. Lets get to training." says Celestia.

"Training? What do you mean by training?" Asks Starlight still rubbing her eyes

"You need to be able to protect yourself against Nightmare moon." Says Celestia.

Starlight nods still sort of sleepy.

"I have a few spells planned for us and some flying. I want you to learn how to use the other ponies magic inside you to your advantage."

"How in the hay do I do that?" Asks Starlight.

"Well you have Nightmare moons magic right?" Asks Celestia.

"How can I forget." Says Starlight as she rolls her eyes.

"Don't get smart with me...You can channel Nightmares magic to make you stronger. Its sort of like a mode but beware this will drain your dark magic drastically! Its how me and Luna become so strong. We channel all of our magic into a big blast so we can amplify our powers and defeat our enemies swiftly we mostly use it as a last resort." Explains Celestia.

"Ok sounds pretty easy." Says Starlight.

"Pretty easy? It took me and Luna centuries to figure this out." Says Celestia.

"I bet I can figure it out right now!" Yells Starlight.

Starlight stands ready to fight and focuses on the dark energy of Nightmares magic that resides in her. All of a sudden Starlights horns magic colors starts to flicker from pink to black. This goes on for about 5 more minutes before Starlight just gives up.

"I'm done lets just move onto the flying." Says Starlight

Celestia frowns and looks a little disappointed but still moves on none the less.

"Fine follow me" Says Celestia.

Celestia flaps her wings and flies into the sky. She looks back to check on Starlight who is still on the ground. She flies back down and lands in front of Starlight who is looking down and shifting her hoof from side to side embarrassed.

"Whats wrong?" Asks Celestia.

"I can't fly" Whispers Starlight.

"Its not to hard. Come here I'll help you." Says Celestia.

Starlight walks over to Celestia's side and stretches out her wings which are tiny in comparison to her mothers. Celestia starts to flap her wings again and lightly floats off the ground. Starlight does the same but wobbles and flails her hooves as she gets off the ground. Celestia steady's Starlight with her magic then flies up higher. The Princess continues this process till her daughter is flying like a filly done with her first year of flight school.

"Your a fast learner. You didn't have too much trouble with your first lesson flying." Says Celestia.

"Really!" Says Starlight with excitement.

Celestia nods.

"Yes you show good promise of being a good flier. Maybe you can come with me to meet Princess Cadence today I'm sure she would love to see your flying, I never told you that she is my niece also I guess known as your cousin."

"I can't wait to meet her!" Starlight blurts out

Celestia chuckles lightly.

"I bet you can't. Now go along and read up on flying and magic. Studying is also an important part of training." Explains Celestia.

"Ok!" Says Starlight.

Starlight starts to run off but runs straight back and nuzzles up to Celestia's chest.

"I love you mommy." Says Starlight.

The Princess surprised by this only reacts to how she feels.

"I love you too my little foal." Says Celestia.

Celestia puts her head to her daughters side to symbolize a hug. They stand there for what seems like hours but in real life it was only minutes. After about 5 minutes Starlight breaks the hug and runs off to the royal library.

"Maybe I was wrong. Maybe she isn't a threat at all. Just a little foal looking for guidance." Says Celestia.

Starlight quickly runs to the library picks out the books of her choice and then goes back to her read them. Although she is unable to focus very well due to the fact that she'll be meeting a member of Celestia's and Luna's family.

"This is gonna be so exciting! I can't wait to meet another alicorn!" Starlight says as she squeals.

Starlight keeps reading till Princess Celestia comes into her room with Luna.

"Starlight?" Says Celestia.

"hmm?" Says Starlight not looking up from her book.

"Starlight could you come with me and Luna?" Asks Celestia.

Starlight hops off her temporary bed and follows the two full grown alicorns to a big room. It was a room that had two balconies, bookshelves on the left, a desk on the right, and a bed big enough for both Celestia and Luna to sleep in.

"Starlight welcome to your room." Celestia says smiling.

"Oh my gosh! I LOVE IT!" Starlight yells running around looking at everything.

"Glad to hear it. My sister worked very hard on getting it all assembled. But she got it done." Explained Luna.

Celestia and Luna leave just as soon as the come to plan for the arrival of Princess Cadence. Starlight jumps onto her new bed and falls asleep reading about flying and magical spells. About 16 hours later she wakes up to screaming and a weird buzzing noise. Starlight walks out onto her balcony looking out over Canterlot her jaw drops as she sees bug like alicorns with skin like Swiss cheese attack innocent ponies Starlight backs up.

"I need find mommy fast!" Says Starlight her voice full of fear.

Starlight runs out of her room and down the hall.

"All these things seem to be going to one place." Says Starlight.

Starlight follows the strange bug things till she comes to a hall beautifully decorated but the one thing she didn't like about this was that her mother was laying on the ground horn burnt and her crown tossed across the room. Starlight runs over to her.

"Mommy! Mommy come on wake up!" Starlight cries.

"Pitiful Celestia I can't believe you let me beat you twice in a row.... Well who are you? I thought there were only four alicorns in existence?" Says Queen Chrysalis confused.

Starlight jumps backward afraid of the mare. Shes got hair that belongs in a swamp, Swiss cheese skin, a jagged horn, Swiss wings, and a crown  that looks like its naturally apart of her body.

'W-who are you! What have you done to Celestia!" Yells Starlight.

"Young one you do not yell at the Queen of the Changelings if you know whats good for you." Says Chrysalis.

"I'll talk to you however I want! Now tell me what have you done to my mommy!" Starlight screams.

All of a sudden like a flash Starlight is lifted up Chrysalis's magic.

"I'm going to teach you not to disrespect me ever again." Chrysalis says through her gritted teeth.

"Get a life." Says Starlight.

Starlight bucks Chrysalis in the face forcing her to back up and drop Starlight.

"Your going to regret that." Says Chrysalis.

Chrysalis shoots bolts of magic at Starlight. Starlight reflects them and returns the favor by shooting bolts back. The hits bounce off Chrysalis's magic harmlessly and into the ground. Chrysalis stomps her hoof on the ground causing a shock wave that dazes Starlight. Chrysalis takes this chance and fires a barrage of magic bolts at Starlight. Starlight falls to the ground barely able to stand.

"Any last words?" Says Chrysalis.

Starlight watches as they drag other ponies into the room and as they drag her mother away from her and cocoon her to the ceiling. These ponies watch as a pony that they don't know be destroyed. Starlight gets so angry her fur turns to white and her eyes black. She develops a black fire line around her body.

"What is this!" Yells Chrysalis.

"This is your worst nightmare. Now get the hay out of my castle!" Starlight yells in pure anger.

Starlight uses blinding speed and gets behind Chrysalis. Starlight's tail turns into pure pink crystal while maintaining its shape. She hits it against Chrysalis's body making her fly into the wall. Starlight revert straight back to normal tired and worn. Chrysalis gets up and winces obviously in much more pain now but this time shes angry. Starlight tries to crawl away but shes dragged back by the creatures magic.

"Your going to regret ever being born." Chrysalis says in angry.

All of a sudden a pink light flashes from behind Chrysalis and everything becomes dark. The next few hours were a blur there was lots of rushing and Starlight's horn hurting through all of it didn't help. When Starlight finally is able to grasp reality she is laying in her mothers bed but everything seems quiet. Then a pink pony walks into the room. She looks at Starlight and stands there not know what to do. She finally speaks up.

"Go back to sleep." Says Cadence.

Starlight stares at Cadence who is awkwardly trying not to make things anymore awkward. Then in comes a white unicorn who appears to be a stallion this stallion walks over to cadence.

"I see shes awake." Says Shining armor.

Shining armor walks over to Starlight with Cadence. Shining talks to Starlight as anypony would to a foal.

"hey there little one how are you?" Says Shining armor while smiling.

"W-whats going on. Wheres Celestia and Luna!?" Starlight says tearing up.

Cadence bites her lip.

"Shes chasing after Chyrsalis sweetie. Shes not here. But don't worry were here if you need us!" says Cadence.

"Who are you ponies?" Starlight asks.

"I am Princess Cadence and this is my husband Shining Armor" Explains Cadence.

Cadence looks down at the bed and then nudges shining armor who gasps. Starlight confused looks down and gasps with tears in her eyes. She had wet the bed Cadence not knowing about Starlight's problem couldn't take the necessary precautions to prevent it. Cadence's foalsitting experience immediately kicks in.

"Sh sh don't worry! Come on lets go get you cleaned up." Says Cadence

Cadence takes the sobbing Starlight by the hoof and leads her to the bathroom while Shining Armor is left with the mess. Once the two reach the bathroom Cadence lays out a towel for Starlight to lay on while she prepares the bath. Cadence makes sure to add lots of bubbles because foals usually are entertained by them. When the bath is finished Cadence levitates Starlight in but before she could get to cleaning a guard comes over to her.

"Princess there's news!" Says the guard.

Cadence looks at Starlight.

"Stay here and wash up" Cadence said sternly.

Cadence follows the guard out of the bathroom. Starlight out of complete curiosity and disobedience follows the strange Princess and the guard to Celestia's study. The guard hooves Princess Cadence a beat up scroll.

"Ok whats the news!" Asked Cadence.

"Queen Chrysalis is asking for a trade." Explained the guard.

"What kind of trade?" Asked Cadence.

"Queen Chrysalis wants to trade Princess Celestia and Princess Luna for the Princess's daughter." Explained the guard.

"But why that doesn't make any sense. I mean she's just a foal how could she be worth more than two Princesses of Equestria." said Cadence.

"Then what shall we do Princess?" Asked the guard.

"We can't launch a full on attack. Because one we dont know the exact location of the changeling hive all we know is that it is somewhere in the Everfree forest and two we don't want to jeopardize Celestia and Luna's lives." Said Cadence.

Princess Cadence starts to think.

"I've got it! We should launch a sneak attack with the elements of harmony! I'm sure we could get the Princess's back with them!" Says Cadence

"I'll go retrieve Princess Twilight and tell her the news immediately!" Said the guard running off.

By the end of the conversation Starlight was already heading towards the elements. She had some knowledge of the elements from her mother but the biggest thing is she knew where they were located. Starlight arrives at the door which to her luck is in the rebuild process and no guards are on duty. Starlight grabs the elements out of the chest and teleports to her bedroom shoving the elements under her bed. She then teleports to the bathroom just in time but Starlight made a miscalculation and teleports above the tub.

"Awww stupid tele-" Says starts as she falls in the water making it go everywhere.

Cadence walks in to find the bathroom cover in bath water.

"What happened?!" Cadence said.

"An accident?" Says Starlight.

Cadence just sighs and starts cleaning it up while Starlight cleans up and goes to her room. Starlight lays the elements in front of her on the bed. She stuffs them into her saddlebag and takes off toward the Everfree forest. Starlight was a little nervous leaving Canterlot since she it was her home but she needs to save her mother no matter what happens. Starlight flies faster but that makes it harder for her to fly this results her in not being able to stop. Starlight ends up crashing into a tree at the entrance of the forest. Starlight gets up and shakes it off like it was nothing then resumes her search for anything resembling a changeling cave.

"Ok I time to save my mother!" Says Starlight with confidence.
