The Story of Starlight

Chapter 4

Starlight runs through the forest possibly disturbing each horrible and menacing creature that dwelled within it. She kept an eye out for anything that would even resemble a changeling hive. After what seemed like hours of pointless search Starlight came across a cavern dripping green goo from the edges.

"I think this is the place." Says Starlight

Starlight grabs her saddlebag and tips it upside dumping all the elements of harmony on the ground. One by one she fits them on various parts of her body till they are all on then she plunges into the cave. As she walks she notices the cave is illuminated by glowing green crystals. This bit of the cave was the beautiful part as she comes across the opening below was solid rock but the ceiling was covered in various sizes of cocoons. But she could tell immediately where her mother and luna were by the two giant cocoons next to a rock throne that was covered in slime. Starlight flies down feeling reassured by the elements but that was her first mistake she had let her guard down allowing a lone changeling to strike her in the back sending sliding across the rocky ground. Starlight opens her eyes to see she was staring at the changeling queen herself.

"You!" Says Starlight as she jumps to her hooves.

"Yes me. I am shocked. I was expecting a long line of soldiers rushing into this cave not some stupid foal." Says Chrysalis confused but also amused.

"I'm not stupid! I brought something special with me this time! The elements of harmony that  I will use to defeat you and take my mother and Luna back!" Says Starlight with confidence.

"Dear you forgot one thing those so called elements only work with 6 special ponies who you have yet to even hear about it supposed." Explains Chrysalis.

"W-what?!" Starlight says in pure shock.

"So you just brought the only weapon to defeat me to me. Bad move kid bad move." Says Chrysalis as she walks toward Starlight.

Starlight backs up as far as she can till she hits the wall behind her.

"Why don't you just surrender it would make both of our lives much easier." Laughs Chrysalis.

Starlight out of fear shoots a blind magic shot at Chrysalis. The shot misses but hits between Celestia's and Luna's pods knocking them to the ground causing them to implode. Both the Princess's crawl out weak from sudden change in direction. But as they regain consciousness they see whats going on. Chrysalis now enraged that both her bargaining chips are awake levitates Starlight and slams her against the wall with so much force that it cause cracks to appear around her. This was a mistake between Starlight's shot impact and Chyrsalis slamming her into the wall the cavern started to collapse Celestia's rams Chyrsalis aside and takes her daughter out of the cavern before they are all crushed. Just outside they all stop for a breather.

"Phew that...was tough" Says Starlight panting heavily.

"Tough!" Yells Celestia.

"That was stupid and irresponsible! You could have lost the elements of harmony and possibly died!" Celestia says screaming at this point.

But before either could continue a crying was heard coming from the rubble. Celestia walks over to inspect it her horn shining yellow pointed at the source of the crying. When she lifted the rock she was surprised to find a foal nothing like Starlight but an actually foal she was white with a cyan mane and tail she was also a Pegasus. Celestia lifted the foal up into her hooves and tried to soothe its crying. She didn't know how is survived the cave collapsing or why it wasn't even scratched but she didn't care. She took the foal and started to fly home ignoring Starlight who she was not happy with still.

"We should go home and try to pry those elements off you." Says Luna.

When they get back to the castle Luna takes Starlight into her room and Celestia takes the foal to Starlight's old nursery. Luna takes her time trying to take the elements off Starlight. But they wouldn't budge at all Luna was starting to get worried.

"I-I can't get them off you! They feel like they are super glued to your skin. Its weird I've never seen anything like this before not even when Tia wielded the elements." Says Luna.

Starlight looks up at Luna as she is being inspected. Out of nowhere Starlight asks Luna a crazy question.

"Luna what happened to your mother?" Starlight asked.

Luna freezes but is honest with the foal.

"When me and Tia were very young not as young as you but still young we awoke to find our mother was gone everything she owned was destroyed and ruined. All we had were our memories it's a very touchy subject that your mother nor I like to talk about." Explained Luna.

"Oh ok..... So what was it like to be Nightmare Moon?" Starlight asks.

Luna wasn't as surprised by this question as she was to the last one.

"I didn't have memory of most of it just the beginning I was full of hatred and anger from my night being ignored. It was so severe that it manifested itself into a physical form causing me to transform into her." Explained Luna.

"Well just to let you know I like your nights." Starlight says.

Luna smiles then starts to tickle Starlight

"You should be asleep before I raise my nights silly" Luna says while tickling Starlight.

Luna stops.

"Looks like those elements aren't coming off anytime soon. Now go find your mother I'm sure she would like to talk to you." Says Luna.

Starlight trots off to the nursery where her mother was rock the foal to sleep. She sees Starlight and ignores her.

"Luna said you might want to see me." Says Starlight

"I didn't ask for you. Now go play I am busy taking care of Crystal." Says Celestia obviously still angry.

"Crystal? Whos Crystal?" Starlight asks confused

"Crystal is the foal that will be staying with us till she re cooperates from the changeling hive." Explains Celestia.

"Ok I'm just gonna go study." Says Starlight as she walks away.

Celestia doesn't say anything but rocks the foal Starlight decided that right then and there she would train her hardest just to impress her mother. She doesn't wanna be forgotten about at all she likes the extra attention from her mother so shes just gonna have to earn it. On her way to her bedroom she bumps into another pony a purple one. This pony was an alicorn too but she was just as surprised as Starlight was.

"Who are you and why are you wearing the elements of harmony!" Asks Princess Twilight Sparkle.

She looks up at the crown which resembled her element.

"My element of harmony! Give that back!" Says Twilight as she tries to pry the element of Starlight.

"Stop it!" Yells Starlight.

"Tell me who you are before I call for the royal guards!" Twilight demands.

Starlight tells this mysterious pony everything leading up to the current situation. This left Twilight shocked beyond belief.

"Please Believe me! I justed wanted to go study my magic and flying!" Starlight pleads.

Twilight instead of asking the foal anymore question lets her go while she heads to Princess Celestia for some answers. Starlight finally gets to her room despite the rude interruption from that strange pony. Starlight levitates all the books she had been reading as well as the next volume of each book around her. She read page after page quickly learning every spell and flying technique she can. About three hours later Starlight is passed out on the floor books scatter everywhere they were even on top of her. Luna peaks her head inside Starlight's room to find she was fast asleep. Luna levitates Starlight onto her bed then leaves the room but as she left the room something bugged her she couldnt help wonder why the elements wouldnt detach from Starlight's body. Luna cast the thought away and continued toward her own living quarters. Starlight wakes up from her slumber and notices that she wasn't wet she became overjoyed about this. Starlight jumped out her bed forgetting she still was wearing the Elements of Harmony her blanket got caught on the crown ripping it. Starlight took it off and frowned.

"Great now I have to get a new blanket. You stupid elements you won't work but you'll tear up my bed sheets." Says Starlight staring up at the elements as if they were an actual living pony.

Starlight tossed it aside and runs as fast as she can to her mothers room. Once she gets there she blurts out.

"Mommy! Guess..what?" Starlight said confused.

Princess Celestia wasn't sleeping in her bed in fact it looked like her bed hadnt even been touched. Starlight walked throughtout the entire castle searching for her. Finally she found Celestia in the new foals nursery but instead of confronting her she just walks back to her room with her head down. On the way Starlight bumps into Luna.

"Oh my! Good morning Starlight. Tis thou sleep well?" Luna says joyfully.

"Why are you talking like that?" Starlight asked.

"Oh sorry we I mean I used to talk like this so I have been trying to learn how to talk like ponies in this era do. It is called the royal canterlot voice." Explained Luna.

"Oh ok." Says Starlight obviously sad.

"Is something wrong?" Asked Luna.

"Yes Celestia doesn't like me anymore and these stupid elements ripped my sheets!" Starlight says annoyed.

"Starlight you should know that your mother loves you very much and you should feel grateful that the strongest weapon in equestria have chosen to latch onto you these 6 pieces must have a plan for you and you should try to be happy about it. Besides we can get you new sheets." Luna says trying to make the foal feel better.

"But what if that so called destiny is something I don't want?" Starlight asked.

"Here follow me I must show you something." Says Luna.

Luna leads Starlight to the main entrance of the castle where there are giant banners hanging on each side. On the left is her mothers Cutiemark and on the right is Lunas cutiemark.

"You see those? Those show that we are the rulers of this land it shows we are princesses and one of these days you and Twilight will rule together we don't know when but you will sometime." Explained Luna.

"Well how can I rule if Celestia is paying too much attention to the stupid foal!" Starlight complained.

"Why don't we go talk to Celestia? Maybe both us princesses can reason with her?" Luna says while winking.

Luna and Starlight head for the nursery when they get there they are greeted with something neither both could plan for. Queen Chrysalis was sucking the love out of Starlight's mother. Once she saw them both she blasts Luna with a powerful magic blast she had obviously gotten stronger. Starlight rushes over to Luna who was out cold from the surprise attack and Celestia was too weak to even stand.

"We again foal." Chrysalis says in a mute tone.

Starlight stays silent

"What's wrong? You not happy to see me?" Says Chrysalis.

"Who would be happy to see you?!" Starlight says standing up ready.

Chrysalis grabs Starlight and slams her into the wall with fercious speed.

"You watch your tongue! No pony insults the Queen of the Changelings!" Chrysalis say spatting in Starlights face.

"Thats funny cause I just did!" Starlight says smiling.

Chrysalis pushes harder causing Starlight to yell.

"You've got guts too bad I'm gonna have to rip them out." Chrysalis says.

Just as Chrysalis begins to push harder Starlight's horn glows pink. Starlight smirkeds and screams sending a giant soundwave from her mouth to Chrysalis who drops Starlight and flies across the room through the wall.

"Get back here! I'm not done with you!" Starlight yells.

Starlight dives straight through the hole and down to the city of Canterlot. She lands flat on her hoof without a scratch. Across from her was the changeling that has caused her the most grief she could ask for.

"How did you get so strong?!" Chrysalis askes angered by Starlights sudden boost in strength and bravery.

"See while you were feeding off my mothers love I trained! hard!" Starlight explained.

Chrysalis staggers to her hooves.

"I don't care how strong you've gotten. You are not as strong as me!" Chrysalis yells.

"Let's do this." Starlight says.
